so, today was one of those days...

i had to mail out a book today. i got everything ready and went into the garage to start the Highlander. it wouldn't start. well fuck me. so, i called AAA and they said they would give me a jump in about 90 minutes. ok. 90 minutes later, the guy was pulling up into the driveway. nicely played. he gave me a jump. said the battery looks fine, the sensors said it just needed charged, but said you should probably get a charger for here in the garage. good point. mom has ordered one from Amazon today. she went with me to the post office so i wouldn't have to turn the Highlander off. i got the book mailed and we went back home. i started the Highlander back up to get the mail before the snow started. thankfully, it started right up and was good. once that charger gets here, i'm going to make sure it stays charged, at least through the winter. the battery is like 8 years old, so i know damn well a new one is needed soon. so yeah, that was how my day started. good times.

i wrote 5 poems last night for the book. that brings that total up to 25. a few more nights like that and i'll have 40 in no time.

Notre Dame defeated Penn State, 27-24, to win their semifinal of the college football playoff last night. Texas and Ohio State plays tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night at home against the Devils, 3-2 in OT.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?

i will probably be watching the Ohio State vs. Texas game for most of the night.

i will most likely be on here early tomorrow. since there will be a ton of sports on tomorrow.

we are getting more snow right now. probably about 2 inches so far, with another 2 to come.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i really don't mind the cold...

i think most people around here think i'm nuts when i take the trash out in the winter in shorts. honestly, the cold doesn't bother me. hell, it is the only thing that works on the pain for me, so why would i hate it outside of a cold pack? now, i did throw an extra layer on today as it was much colder given the wind and snow. thankfully, there wasn't much snow while i was out doing the grocery shopping. i did get a good bit of food so we would have plenty of meals to choose from this week. given the current finances, eating out will be even more rare than usual now. that said, the grocery shopping went well today, other than the cashier at Kroger thinking she needed to scan everything as fast as possible. like i can bag 30 different items with a snap of my fingers... good times.

so, i did watch the finale of The Voice last night. i did have the winner and he was on my team the entire season.

NXT was very good last night.

Hard Knocks was good last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer and Inside the NFL.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Buffalo. hopefully they will find a way to win tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

i did make it to the post office today. so, now all the Christmas cards have been mailed. hard to believe Christmas is only 2 weeks from now.

i need to get going and get dinner started.

managing frustration...

the Yankees pissed me off so much last night, i was shaving and showering at 3 in the morning. sometimes, i just do that to (hopefully) change up the mojo. i guess time will tell if it actually fucking works. i did get some decent sleep after the shower, so there's that.

i had to go to the post office today to mail some books back to my partner in crime (CRK). it amazes me the number of characters in this town that are just dumb as shit. thankfully, i'm not one of those.

so yeah, the Yankees lost last night at the Nationals, 5-2. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow night against St. Louis.

Big Brother was good last night. i have no damn clue who gets evicted tonight. part of me hopes it will be Angela, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

well, i got a few things done...

i was able to get to the post office today. i had to mail a book back i autographed for CRK. after that, i went to Kroger to pick up my prescription and mom's new prescription. i wanted to get those today so i wouldn't have to worry about that tomorrow. when i got home, i had lunch and at least thought about doing my laundry. i guess that will have to wait until Thursday. at least i still have clean underwear.

so, the Yankees have this terrible tendency this season to play down to their opponents level. last night was the perfect example as they lost to the White Sox in Chicago, 12-2. thank fucking god i didn't watch any of the game.

Name That Tune was very good last night.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night.

at least it looks like Manchester United got some shit done today:

the hours all bleed together...

i think i finally fell asleep around 5 this morning. this time of year, as i try to remain productive as the depression creeps in, the hours all seem to just fade into one long session that never ends. this is the grind i have been in since my 20's i think. as i told my mother last night, i'll be dead before i make it to 60 years old. oh well, just trying to live in the now.

The Voice was excellent last night. i really don't know who is going to win tonight.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night.

i did take mom to the post office today. after that, she wanted to go to Dollar Tree to get some contact paper for the shelves in the pantry. she found some that almost looks like our new countertops. after that, i took her back home. i went to Rite Aid to get my prescription and then around the corner to the grocery store to get a few items from the grocery list.

at least i should have only one store to go to tomorrow.

a gloomy day with a silver lining, i guess...

these are the days of winter i can't really stand. the older i get, the more i need the sun i think. perhaps it's my inner child knowing my negativity is killing me. perhaps i need the sun to simply brighten this dismal time in my life or the world. the silver lining is all the success i had today. between poems getting published and accepted, between a delightful trip to the post office where i got to be the fly in the ointment for several old ladies... one of those days where i try to cram about 24 hours in a span of about 6. good times.

the post office today was pretty funny. first off, i let this beautiful, and i mean beautiful for this part of Ohio, woman go in front of me. she was a stunner to say the least. when i got up to the counter, i had 15 envelopes that needed postage. and since i am an asshole, none of the envelopes were the same. plus, i needed to get a roll of stamps and mom wanted a book of Christmas stamps. after some furious typing, a few deep sighs, the total was around $80 or so. i could hear the old ladies behind me getting more and more pissed the longer it took. that was some of my best joy i have had in weeks.

so, there are a few lucky ones out there that should be checking their mailboxes in the next few days.

the finale of Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI was really good last night. of course, i figure nothing is going to happen to the asshole running this country, not until he gets voted out (hopefully). but, it would be nice to see his family have to do some time while he figures out how to pardon every criminal he's given a job to over the last few years.

Ray Donovan was really good last night.

Escape at Dannemora was excellent last night.

the New Orleans Saints had an awful first half yesterday at Tampa Bay. they trailed 14-3 at halftime. thank fucking god they woke up and absolutely destroyed Tampa in the second half. the Saints got all the phases rolling (offense, defense, special teams) and won the game 28-14. that gives them the division title for the second straight year and since the Rams lost last night in Chicago, the Saints control their destiny once again for the number 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Vice Special Report: The Untold Story of the 2008 Financial Crisis. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Tampa Bay. the Lightning have the best record in the NHL, so i'm interested to see how the Rangers do tonight.

so mom had me bring in all the Christmas shit yesterday from the garage. as of right now, we have 4 Christmas trees up and i'm hoping not much more needs to go up. as you might imagine, i like festive, but i'm not a festive motherfucker.

i had to sit in on a conference call between my mother and her financial planner today. even with the recent downturn in the economy, mom is still sitting pretty. it would be nice if they would stop fucking with her disability payments. that would make her life much less stressful.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think my sister is having shit shipped to the house for mom in my name, so i'm going to be on the lookout for that tomorrow i guess.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

that's all for now kids.

a creative outburst...

i have my days where i get a wild hair up my ass and i kind of just fly off the handle. between a couple poems published, writing 5 new ones, doing a new SoundCloud recording and a book review in roughly 24 hours or so... i'd like to think of that as a creative outburst. honestly, i wish i had more of them. i'm doing a little each day trying to defeat the overwhelmingly high amount of apathy in my life. the joy of being a stubborn fuck is i probably will keep fighting it until i die. and as much as a part of me wishes that would be soon, i think the better angels have other plans. although, i don't trust either of them. welcome to my reality.

i had to take some stuff back to the post office for mom today. i figured when i was out, i'd hit up the local grocery store since we were low on bread. she wanted lunch from Wendy's today, so that was my final stop. i don't know what to do now that i have a garage door opener that will actually work from across the street. mom seems to be doing a little better today. she has to remind herself sometimes she has spinal stenosis. i think her depression is from her inability to cope with the fact she can't do what she could just a few years ago. and with insurance and her old employer constantly fucking around with her, i do think she's going to snap one of these days. that will be interesting to say the least.

i didn't mind who got voted off The Voice last night. they are now at the final ten. it should be very interesting to see who wins the show. my top 3 are Kennedy, Kymberli and Kirk. of course, all 3 are black, so i will be pleasantly surprised if any of them actually win.

Smackdown was much, much better than Raw last night. thank god.

i did watch both episodes of NXT UK this afternoon. they were both really good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and the season finale of Total Divas. i'll watch 205 Live and NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

a big thank you to Capital One for actually getting the gift card i ordered with my Rewards points to me long before i thought they would. now, i can maybe get all my Christmas shopping done tonight.

i saw today on the news that it is supposed to warm up into the 50's this weekend. it currently feels like the fucking teens right now. so, i suppose everyone is going to be fucking sick for the month of December. joy.

i'll probably be on here earlier tomorrow as the New Orleans Saints play tomorrow night.

that's all for me kids.

so much for a sunny day...

when i went out to get the newspaper this morning, it was already muggy as hell. i looked at the clouds and figured we might get a little rain. about 45 minutes later, it was fucking pouring. 3 hours after that, still fucking pouring. we don't get showers anymore, we get flood warnings. at least the grass got cut yesterday. i suppose i really shouldn't have put out the new solar lights and all the bird food. oh well.

the trip to Menards was pretty good yesterday. i found most of what i was looking for, plus a few things that were cheaper than at the grocery store. i kept it under $100, so mom was pleased.

the New York Yankees pissed away a great comeback yesterday and lost 7-6 to Toronto. thank fucking god they are off today. they start a series against the Brewers to take them into the All Star break.

NXT was really good last night. the match between Roderick Strong and Bobby Roode was excellent.

Lucha Underground was good last night.

Snowfall was outstanding last night. i usually will give any new show on FX a try and i'm so happy i decided to watch this one. i will definitely watch this whole season. between the music, the drugs and the acting, fucking fantastic.

Big Brother was hilarious last night. i loved the look on Cody's face when he tried to nominate Paul. i really hope Christmas doesn't get voted out tonight, but who knows.

i think the rain has finally stopped. so, i guess i can go to the post office now and take care of some things.

mom has her second physical therapy session this evening. i believe it's going to be on a Monday and Thursday rotation for the next few weeks.

mom had wanted to go out shopping this morning, but she doesn't do well in the rain either. welcome to the house of arthritis.

one of these days i'll get to sleep forever...

i believe a cold front moved through overnight, as i tossed and fucking turned all night long. not exactly the kind of sleep i wanted going into a day i knew i would be sending out some poems. i'd like to think i do my best work when i'm feeling my best. of course, if that was true, my work has been shit for the last few years. no comments from the peanut gallery please.

i sent out 12 poems today; 6 to ZYX and 3 each to Dead Snakes and In Between Hangovers. i'll post the verdicts when i hear back from these places.

the New York Yankees pissed away lead after lead last night. thankfully, they are finally starting to show some heart and some fucking resolve. they battled back each time and eventually won 10-7. they will go for another series win in the game tonight.

The Voice is now at the point of the season where everyone left is talented enough to win the whole thing. of course, that wouldn't have been the case if Nick would have stayed last night.
there are now 8 left in the competition. i could see 6 of them winning the whole thing.

Deadliest Catch was pretty damn interesting last night.

i did catch the overtime of the Capitals vs. Penguins last night. i laughed when Pittsburgh scored to eliminate Washington. i have to think that Ovechkin knows at this point he's never going to win it all in Washington. perhaps they trade him to a certain team in New York that they once traded Jagr to. just a thought. the Penguins will now play Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Final. i'll only watch because there are ex-Rangers on each team.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT and some other shit on WWE Network tonight. also, i'll flip between some baseball and a Game 7 in the NHL.

i had an interesting talk at the post office today. i wasn't expecting the person behind the counter to tell me about her drug problem. her eyes got a little wide when i told her my pain tolerance is such that i can take 3 Percocets and they won't even phase me. i told her i'm not going to become an addict just so i don't feel pain. i was about to explain my theory on finding the pleasure in the pain but an old lady walked in. but i imagine the poems are going to get interesting.

today has been one of those days where the arthritis has won most of the day. when the body aches just sitting, you know it's a no win situation.

waking up in a sweat

maybe it was the heat. maybe it was the underlying sentiments from my mother and sister. maybe it was death. maybe it was a sense that i'm entering a new chapter of my life. but waking up in a pool of your own sweat while the air conditioner and a fan is on overnight is a bit unsettling. of course, 45 minutes after waking up, i'm swallowing 2 pills of Imodium. good times.

the Cavs went cold last night and ran out of gas and Golden State finally realized they were playing in the finals. a recipe for disaster if you want Cleveland to win. Golden State won by 21 last night. the game really never felt that close. next game is on Sunday.

The Comedians last night was hilarious. i really think the show has found its legs now.

the Dayton Flyers got a good transfer from Bradley yesterday. best thing, he'll have 3 years left at UD. and he knows how to rebound. i have to love a kid who got 21 rebounds as a freshman. welcome to Dayton, Josh Cunningham. he chose Dayton over Illinois.

mom and i went to Waffle House for dinner last night. that could explain my morning.

enjoy some music while i think of something to say:

not that i actually watched anything late last night, but here's some funny shit anyways:

i have a busier than shit day ahead of me. before noon, i'd like to get to the bank and post office. after my chair arrives this afternoon, mom and i are going to the grocery store. we have the chance to get some heavy storms today on top of everything. tonight, i'm hoping to enjoy watching the USA women take on Sweden in the Women's World Cup.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

if i get a chance tonight, i'd like to get some writing done. i'd like to get enough poems to have some submissions to go for the next week.

that's all for me today. i need to get going. i hope everyone has a great weekend. if not, look in the mirror.

a busy boy and the inevitable wait at the post office

i woke up this morning amazingly refreshed. perhaps i should do more drinking right before i go to bed. what could possibly go wrong in that scenario? i got my ass in gear and decided to get all my Christmas cards done today. so, be checking your mail boxes in a few days to see if you're a lucky one or not. my apologies to my friends and fans not in the USA, my poor ass has nothing for you this year. i'm hoping to make up for that next year. and if you think you should have gotten something from me, chances are i don't have your address or you have suddenly found out what i really think of you.

i got to the post office and i must have been the 7th or 8th person in line. god bless the guy behind the counter, he was going as fast as he could go. and, given that most of the customers were elderly, i'm surprised he still has patience left. he must love me. i know exactly how i want the shit shipped and i have cash in hand. amazingly, the last package i was waiting on for Christmas arrived today. so, now all i have is some wrapping of presents to do. i burned my sister's CD this morning, so i can actually take a breath and relax for a few moments. i think i'll do the wrapping later in the week.

i'm trailing in my fantasy football playoff game by 3 points. thankfully, i have a WR going tonight for Chicago. but, i'd love to see New Orleans actually win the game. so, if i can just get 4 points from the guy, i'll be thrilled. if that happens, i advance to the finals.

the Sunday night shows were awesome last night. The Newsroom was a reintroduction to the characters and why we as the audience care about them. it was an excellent series finale. Homeland was fucking crazy once again. i can't wait for the season finale next week. The Affair was amazing last night. the acting was top notch. and the ending was fucking perfect. that season finale next week should be great.

i was able to watch the last 5 minutes of the New York Rangers game last night after the shows ended. apparently, i didn't miss much. the Rangers won 2-0 over Edmonton. that shutout by King Henrik helped me win my fantasy hockey week 8-2. below are some highlights from the game:

tonight is my usual clusterfuck of a Monday. the season finale of The Voice starts tonight. i'm a little interested in seeing what songs they perform to try to win the show. at the same time, Monday Night Raw will be on. they are coming off a ppv that most people didn't like, so tonight should be real interesting. also, i'll be keeping an eye on the Monday Night Football game. i'd love to enjoy a late night victory beer, but i'm not getting my hopes up. later tonight i'm planning on watching the Men in Blazers show as i figure they will have some fun with the Manchester United win from over the weekend.

after all that, hopefully i'll get some sleep. i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the bank. got the first bill from my Christmas shopping today, so this deposit will be a timely one.

that's all for me today. i've got to go make dinner. frozen pizza. lovely. i do hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

adventures at the post office

today was one of those days where i just marveled at the incompetence of certain human beings. how a package with my address ends up in a post office 40 miles away from me is apparently a mystery to everyone involved. if it did end up at the wrong post office, it's supposedly on a truck going back to another city to be rerouted to the correct address. this is the special kind of stupid. of course, i found at today at the post office i have my PO Box at, they don't actually look at the addresses. they simply scan everything as delivered and then sort them. how anything gets to the right address is simply a game of chance i guess. and these assholes wonder why everyone sends shit online now. so, now i have to check in the morning to see if the package has been re-scanned somewhere. what pisses me off more is this is one of my mother's Christmas presents. amazingly, one for my sister came today and last i checked, it hasn't even been shipped yet according to amazon.com. this is going to be a crazy fucking Christmas, i can already feel it coming on.

i did watch The Voice last night. i guess the horny housewives got their wish, they voted the last woman off of the show. i have a feeling Matt from Team Adam is going to win it all this year, unless Adam somehow fucks it up (like he has done before).

the Dayton Flyers play on the road tonight at the alma mater of my mother and sister. no tv for the game, so i will be going old school and listening to it on the radio. hopefully i will be drinking a victory beer later tonight.

also tonight i'm planning on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story.

saw this last night and laughed pretty good:

i heard from the muse last night. we hadn't talked for a few weeks. it sounded like she is doing well. she did express her worries for me with the upcoming move. i appreciated it, though i think my cage needs to be rattled a bit. and nothing will do that better than making me live around people again for the first time in 17 years. it truly will be a sink or swim type moment. thankfully, i haven't been afraid of death since i was a child.

that's all for me today. thanks again for letting me waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

while waiting in line at the post office for 20 minutes...

as much as i like living in a small town, waiting in line at the post office for 20 minutes to pick up a package that couldn't fit in my po box is painful. especially when the jackass in front of the line is one of these assholes that makes a living selling shit off of ebay and is somehow fascinated with stamps that have Charlton Heston on them. worse yet, the fucker didn't know he was dead. this spiraled into a conversation about the postal rules of how long you have to wait to get on a stamp. at this point, i was ready to kill myself. the next lady needed 100 postcards that were already stamped. now, you would think these dumb fucks would have such shit already sorted out for the customer. i mean, 100 is a nice round number. no such luck for me. the clerk counted out 100 by hand. i really wish i was making this shit up. the next two ladies just needed stamps. thankfully, the lady in front of me smelled nice. i tried my best not to be a fucking creep and sniff loudly. of course, her kid comes in to give her the purse she left in the car. there goes that boner. finally, i got up to the clerk. i had a yellow card, which means there's a package in the back. i tell her my po box number and she asks for it again. this is as she is holding the card with the number of the po box on it. if anyone ever questions why i "joke" about murdering everyone in this town, you now know why. of course, that last line will have the cops watching my every move for a few weeks. they have nothing else to do. and sadly, that line isn't satire. the crime rate here is really low. which is good, as i rarely lock anything, especially my truck. please, someone steal that piece of shit.

i watched some of Game 7 last night. i was a little shocked Chicago blew a lead of 2 goals at home. that will eat them all summer. so, the Stanley Cup Final is set between New York and Los Angeles. i guess who handles the plane flights the best will win this series. it will certainly be a bitch if the series goes long, like every series the Kings are in. i love that my Rangers are the underdog. hopefully they can steal Game 1 on Wednesday.

the shows last night were excellent. Total Divas was really good. i love the behind the scenes shit at WrestleMania. Nurse Jackie was a weird one, much like detoxing is. Californication made me laugh, as always. Penny Dreadful was brilliant once again. such a great show. Silicon Valley was great. Veep set up the season finale pretty well last night. Last Week Tonight was great last night. i was a little amazed i got through them all without falling asleep.

tonight, the Yankees play Seattle at home to make up for a rain out earlier in the season. i'll watch a little of that. but, most of tonight will be Monday Night Raw. after that, i need to catch up on Louie. i'm hoping by typing it i will actually remember to do so.

it's been threatening to rain all damn day. i wish it would as my back is killing me. always fun when every part of your back feels like it is going to seize up on you in a flash. then, when the rain moves through, the back feels fine. damn you mother nature.

that's all for me. below you will see my musings on iTunes at 3 in the morning. good times...

the outside world still exists...

so, the temps got high enough today that i didn't need 5 layers to go outside. a few of the cats actually came out from their bunkers. and the winds subsided enough that it made sense to put the bird food in the feeders instead of on the ground.

my mother and i actually made it to the post office for the first time this week. i always love a full PO Box. and i was amazed that 3 days of newspapers were still in our box across the lane. and to fully escape the cabin fever, we hit the local sports bar we always go to. nothing like some mid day alcohol to lube the joints.

last night was a mixed bag for me. i was flipping between college basketball games and a forensic science special on PBS. usually, when i can't find anything i really want to watch, i will choose to educate myself.

tonight, the New York Rangers play in Chicago. as much as i would love to think the Rangers have a chance in this game, my brain tells me differently. i'll watch until it gets ugly.

thankfully, American Horror Story comes back on tonight. so, i will have something to turn to in case the Rangers lay another turd tonight.

i did watch the announcement for the baseball hall of fame today. i was a little shocked only 3 players made it. 1 fell short by 2 votes. ouch.

that's pretty much all for me today. i'm getting that poetry itch once again, so i'll probably do some writing here soon.

before i forget, i highly recommend the Nerdist podcast with Jim Norton. you can find that by going here: http://www.nerdist.com/2014/01/nerdist-podcast-jim-norton/

that's all for now. i'll be on sometime tomorrow, between the light snow showers i imagine. be well.

the colder it gets...

so i woke up to a balmy 1 degree temp this morning. thankfully, the power was still on so it was a nice 70 degrees inside. i joked to my mother these are the mornings where we get to see just how much the cats really want to live. i was surprised when i saw all but one of them. and the missing one is one of the older ones that just does her own thing all the time.

got my ass in gear and got all the Christmas cards and gifts done and mailed out today. it was glorious at the post office. walked in with 20 things that needed postage and just watched 6 people come in behind me and get pissed off. i LOVED it. now these fucks know how i feel when i've got poems to mail out and i'm stuck behind the ebay queens. fuckers.

so, you special ones, check your mailboxes here in the next few days. and if you don't get something from me but want something, email me your mailing address and you may be a lucky winner next year.

i did watch Duck Dynasty last night. i did get some good laughs but mostly, it allowed me to turn my mind off.

American Horror Story was excellent last night. the last 10 minutes blew my mind. so many fucking layers to everything at that moment. sadly, no new episodes until the new year.

tonight will be a mix between the New York Rangers, The Big Bang Theory, and the NFL game tonight between Denver and San Diego. tonight starts the fantasy football playoffs off for me, so you can imagine what i'll be paying the most attention to. though, the Rangers did call up the defenseman i was pleading they call up and he'll make his debut tonight. should be interesting as it will be the first time many of the Columbus players make their return to MSG after being traded.

that's all for me. hope this finds everyone well.

take it easy and if it's easy, take it again.

couldn't ask for much more...

so my day today started off with a trip to the post office. i had some registered mail waiting for me. i bet the people in this small town shit their pants when they see i have mail from India waiting for me. got the issue of Miracle Magazine i'm in. it looks great.

then off to the Dayton Flyers game. they easily played their best game of the season so far, 78-58 win. hopefully they take the good feeling and play a great game against their old coach in their first road game on Wednesday.

next was a trip to the sports bar to catch the second half of the Ohio State game. the defense was hurt and it certainly showed. but, anytime your offense can put up 60, you should be fine. 60-35 win. 22nd straight win. not too bad.

a trip to the tractor supply store to get cat food and bird food (or mostly to use the 10% off coupon) and then a trip to the grocery store. i was kind of shocked that mom and i were able to get the shopping done be out of the store before it got dark.

then on the way home we stopped at the guy's house who farms out here to get the checks for the corn. always love when there is 2 numbers to the left of the comma. a pretty damn good year. enough to pay the bills, the taxes, and survive the winter if the apocalypse hits.

got the groceries put away in time to watch the New York Rangers in Montreal. thankfully, AV started the backup goalie tonight. a HUGE 1-0 shutout. first win up there since god knows when. hopefully they keep up the good playing tomorrow back at home against the Kings.

but, since this is my life, it can't all be rosy. my friend Imodium was called on earlier tonight as my stomach started acting up again. not sure if it was the beer, the chicken, or simply i was having too good of a time. thankfully, my friend always works.

so, on the docket for the rest of the evening is some college football, a new episode of Saturday Night Live, a new episode of ROH, and then sleep. got a busy day tomorrow to go along with the wind advisory we will have going on tomorrow.

can't wait to take out the trash after i've watched all the Sunday night shows. hopefully the wind will have passed by then. most of my fantasy football matches will be over by Sunday night. chances are i blog again around that time.

i am really looking forward to the series finale of Eastbound and Down tomorrow night. i fully expect it to be the craziest episode of the show ever. other than that, the usual of Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, Total Divas, and Masters of Sex will be on tap. as well as a football game and a hockey game that i will need to pay attention to. good thing my mom has put the laptop out by the television.

ok, enough of my rambling. until tomorrow, if mother nature allows...

ready for the funeral

this blog post is brought to you by episode 32 of The Sam Roberts Show Online. you can find the episode on Itunes, Stitcher, and notsam.com. click on podcast and help a budding superstar out. i highly recommend this episode. it is FUCKING HILARIOUS.

i'm in all black today, ready for the Yankees funeral. i'm not very happy mother nature postponed the inevitable, but oh well. here's hoping CC doesn't do the same today. i am so ready for this season to be over and for the team to be blown up. of course, that will be next to impossible with all the horrific contracts they have, but a man can dream can't he...

plenty on the tv docket tonight as well. a good NFL game, a sneaky good college football game, and the usual Thursday night television as well. guess i'll be napping in front of the tv again.

actually wrote a poem yesterday that came out of nowhere. love when that happens. of course, the main line popped in my head at the post office. so, like a madman, i repeated it out loud to myself over the blaring music on the ride home. thankfully, i only live about 5 minutes away. i'll be typing that up tomorrow most likely. hopefully, a few others pop in my head and i'll be thinking about another submission next week.

music today:

The Civil Wars - Live at Eddie's Attic
Hammock - Departure Songs Sampler
The Charlie Daniels Band - A Decade of Hits
Matthew Perryman Jones - Land of the Living
Metallica - Death Magnetic

when all else fails...

this blog post of really nothing is brought to you by www.riotcast.com. a totally enjoyable way to piss away an afternoon when you're doing anything you can to avoid hearing absolutely fucking anything about the New York Yankees.

as you might be able to tell, i have no confidence in the Yankees at the moment. NONE. Sweaty Freddy takes the hill tonight and i figure by the third inning i'll be contemplating shitting my guts out for fun.

nearly completely forgot i had some new poems up at Underground Voices. i actually remembered when i was driving to the post office. if i ever figure out why my brain works the way it does, i could be scary one day.

as for the post office...i'm not sure this town knows how thankful they should be at how patient i am with the elderly. blocking parking spots while waiting for another one to open up, not understanding how a copier works, not understanding how the money goes in. and all i'm trying to do is get the fucking mail without ending up in jail. FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do they understand how hard they make this some days?

the sun came out today. the rain moved away but forgot to take the humidity with it. fuck me runnin' it's sticky as hell outside. the constant feeling that you haven't wiped your ass good enough....

and with that visual... hopefully i'll have better news to share tomorrow. but don't count on it.

music today:

Zac Brown Band - Uncaged
The Twilight Singers - Powder Burns
Ed Sheeran - +

a lovely day of...

waking up to the smell of a skunk, doing the dishes, back pains, a bleeding asshole, worrying about my friend who went under the knife this morning, thoughts of death, flipping off a cop who used his lights just to get around traffic and wondering what the fuck this guy in a suit is doing giving me the evil eye at the post office.

needless to say my choice in music was a bit angry today.

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
Rage Against the Machine - Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium
Alice in Chains - Dirt
