i tell my mother all the time that when one of my teams lose a heartbreaker, it becomes a scar on my brain. after what happened last night at the 4 Nations Face Off, i have another one to add to the collection. Canada defeated the USA 3-2 in OT to win the 4 Nations Face Off. i should have seen it coming as soon as i saw the footage of Orange Hitler calling the team and wishing them luck.

i really don't mind the cold...
i think most people around here think i'm nuts when i take the trash out in the winter in shorts. honestly, the cold doesn't bother me. hell, it is the only thing that works on the pain for me, so why would i hate it outside of a cold pack? now, i did throw an extra layer on today as it was much colder given the wind and snow. thankfully, there wasn't much snow while i was out doing the grocery shopping. i did get a good bit of food so we would have plenty of meals to choose from this week. given the current finances, eating out will be even more rare than usual now. that said, the grocery shopping went well today, other than the cashier at Kroger thinking she needed to scan everything as fast as possible. like i can bag 30 different items with a snap of my fingers... good times.
so, i did watch the finale of The Voice last night. i did have the winner and he was on my team the entire season.

another rainy day...
the rain is still going on. i am hoping it will be ending soon, but i have no clue. i spent most of today in pain. i was able to help mom pay her bills. as soon as i get this done, i have to add up all her stuff for her taxes. and then at some point, i would love to shave and shower tonight.
here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:

at least i made a little money...
i made a bet back in August last year that the Kansas City Chiefs would win the Super Bowl. after last night, i wish i would have been able to put more on that bet. but, the one rule i stick to when gambling is only bet what you can afford to lose. so, i put $1 down on it and won $9 last night when the Chiefs won in overtime over the 49ers, 25-22. i thought the game eventually got good. halftime was really good. the commercials were sort of hit and miss for me, but there were more hits than misses. add in the nachos i made for dinner and all in all, it was a pretty good night.

trying to find calm in stormy seas...
there has always been a certain amount of dysfunction that comes with the holidays in my life. it never fails, no matter how i try to change anything. so, in the last few years, i have just quit trying to change it and fucking just ride the wave. i'm not sure if that is any better, but i am not in a position to analyze those things at this time. trying to maintain this blog while taking care of all of my mother's needs and thinking i can have a small business and hopefully a relationship is basically making sure i will have an early death. but, you know, put on the brave face and just get it done. that might sum up my entire adult life.
today, i went to Rite Aid and waited 30 minutes for the prescription that they supposedly were working on when i got the other two yesterday. i don't mind the waiting since these prescriptions are free, but i know that is going to change in 12 days. my patience might be running thin come 2023. after that, i went to the local grocery store. Tuesdays are the days they take the Golden Buckeye card, which is what senior citizens can use to get a discount on their groceries. i always laugh when i get the discount as well. must be all the gray in the goatee. i'll do part two of the grocery shopping tomorrow at Kroger. i'm really trying to stock up since we have a winter storm coming Thursday night.
mom had a meeting with a social worker today. i think that was productive for her. now, i'm trying to get her laundry done while writing this blog, in hopes to have this done before the Dayton game at 7.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.

so today was a little crazy...
so, my mother has been having problems with her asthma the last couple days. she had me buy something to read her oxygen levels today while i was at Rite-Aid. i got a text from her while i was in line at Meijer telling me she had a telehealth appointment at 2 and if she got worse, she was going to call the squad to evaluate her. so, i texted her back that i should be home before 2. i still had to go to Kroger and get the rest of the groceries... i got home at 1:40. of course, my mother was nowhere to be found. so, around 5:30 this evening, i got a text from her which was mostly gibberish. i figured she had to be on drugs. so, i guess the squad took her to the emergency room of the closest hospital to us. thankfully, i guessed right when i called. she is being admitted to the hospital upstairs, and can't have any visitors because she has respiratory problems. so, this should be a fun evening.
i did get everything on the grocery list today. made a trip to the bank. i had to get gas as well. good thing i did, just in case i do have to travel a bit with this upcoming storm. my order from Walk Off Wax finally came today. between that and the box of baseball cards i got at Rite-Aid today, i think i got some pretty good ones. now, i have to order some more damn supplies.
Young Rock was pretty funny last night.
Kenan was pretty funny as well last night.
the New York Rangers lost to the Devils last night, 5-2. honestly, i think the Rangers are trying to get their coach fired.

enjoying the cold sunshine... sort of
the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. but, i thankfully found everything for the most part and did some smart enough shopping to get over $50 off on everything. at least i can still do math in my head.
Young Sheldon was pretty good last night.
The Unicorn was very funny last night.
Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.
Indebted was good last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, High Maintenance and The Cure: Anniversary 1978-2018 Live in Hyde Park London. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Carolina. hopefully the road winning streak will continue.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, before i leave to go see the Dayton Flyers take on Duquesne.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
until tomorrow...

why else would i be up at 4 in the morning...
team USA beat Kazakhstan last night, 8-2 at the World Juniors. the USA plays Sweden tonight. that game will be much tougher.
i did watch some college football last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
the Dayton Flyers play at home this afternoon against Georgia Southern. this has trap game written all over it.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Nashville. i hope the Rangers find a way tonight, but i'm not holding my breath.
i do plan on watching most of the college football final 4 playoff games today. i'll miss some of Clemson vs. Notre Dame but i will get to see most of Alabama vs. Oklahoma.
i managed to get my laundry done and a nap in last night before dinner. i don't think the nap was the reason i was up until 4 in the morning. i think it was more to do about my inability to shut my damn brain off.
i will probably be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

sometimes it takes the best in the world...
i believe fucking ridiculous comes to mind after that save. in the end, it was a 0-0 draw. the second leg will be in Manchester in 3 weeks. hopefully United puts them away and moves on.
team USA men's hockey team lost in a shootout last night against Czech Republic. the USA simply didn't create enough chances in the game, and didn't cash in when they did create either. you can't have a power play in OT and not get a shot on goal. that game kept me up all night. i know deep down they aren't as good as the Czech team but the game was there to be won. Czech Republic 3 USA 2.
the Dayton Flyers did not play well last night until mid way through the second half. either Saint Louis ran out of gas or Dayton fucking woke up. but, for the second time this season, Dayton has now won 2 games in a row. considering their next game is at Rhode Island, i hope they enjoy this victory. Dayton won 53-50.
Smackdown was okay last night, but could have been so much better.
205 Live was excellent once again last night.
Baskets was hilarious last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor showed just how much ignorance there is in this fucking country.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Celebrity Big Brother. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i believe the USA women's hockey team plays for the Gold medal late tonight against Canada. i do plan on watching that.
i did hear from Pyrokinection last night on the poems i sent earlier this week. they decided to pass on the 3 i sent.
i did write 10 new poems yesterday while in the waiting room at mom's physical therapy. i typed those up last night and i really like them. that puts me at 40 poems for the month. i might try to squeeze a little more out before the month ends.
after mom's therapy we went to The Rusty Bucket. it was much better than i was expecting.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. we're supposed to get a ton of rain tomorrow, so i figure most of the day i'm going to be in fucking pain.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. go ahead and give Jim Parsons another Emmy Award.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
Fuck, That's Delicious was an extended cut from the Chicago episode.
Baskets was fucking great last night.
Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night as well.
the New York Rangers won last night 4-3. they are finally winning at home again. they can sweep the homestand on Saturday night against Colorado.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.
the Dayton Flyers play a massive game tonight at Rhode Island. if Dayton wins, the seniors will tie the all-time win record for a class at Dayton and they will also have the sweep of Rhode Island this season. if Dayton loses, they no longer control their own destiny in the A10. it should be a really good game. it's on ESPN2 tonight at 7.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope this is the weekend i start to get better and actually feel good enough to write. what a concept.

depression and easter candy...
Nerve Cowboy is one of the zines i am most proud of to be published by. the quality of the work within each issue is on par with ANY zine in the world, small press, academic, snob poetry, etc. do yourself a favor and go the site, http://www.nervecowboy.com/, click on chapbooks or subscriptions and support this wonderful magazine. it will be well worth your time and money.
i went over to the farm this morning to get all the trash down to the end of the lane. there was a ton of it. i'm sure the garbage men are going to be thrilled. of course, since today is a holiday, my sister and i got into it. my sister likes to think she runs shit when she comes down here. mom allows her to think that way too much (my opinion) so, every once in a while, i try to bring my sister back to reality. but god forbid tell her to shut her mouth when it comes to shit i want to keep at the new house. as i warned my mother, allowing my sister to buy her this house was going to give her full reign in her mind to do whatever the fuck she wants with it. and sure enough, slowly this is becoming like her place. i don't think my sister knows i heard her this morning after our little argument when she asked my mother if she has her will done or not. i took that as yet another shot at me and my depression and whatnot. i would think my sister and my mother would both know by now i will kill myself before i would do anything to them. they have already showed what i mean to them over the years by making sure to celebrate each holiday with the cousin that molested me. i'm the one that gets to grapple with loneliness. good times.
so, on that lovely note, on with this shit...
the New York Rangers whipped the shit out of the Devils last night, 6-1. that gives them 50 wins for the 4th time in franchise history. here are some highlights from the win:
i did watch most of the Final Four last night. i wasn't shocked that Wisconsin beat Kentucky. i was a little shocked at how easily Duke won. the Kentucky loss killed my main bracket, so i have no interest in the title game on Monday night. thankfully, there will be plenty of other shit on to watch.
i'm trailing badly in my fantasy hockey championship match. hopefully in this final week, the worm will turn.
for those of you concerned, my ankle is still attached to my body. it feels a little better today. i'm guessing that's because there's no rain in the area. now, most of next week i will be a pissy mess as it's supposed to rain just about every single fucking day. good times.
that's all for today. hope the Saturday night hangover isn't fucking with you too bad today.

phat Tuesday
let's go back to yesterday afternoon and the Manchester United game. for some fucking reason, this team has fallen into the trap of only coming alive when they get scored on first. it reminds me of the last few years of when Sir Alex was there. and much like back then, the absolute fear of losing must be strong. United came from behind to win 3-1. they advance in the FA Cup to host Arsenal in a few weeks. below are some highlights from the game:
i didn't watch much of the New York Rangers game yesterday. the Islanders scored 11 seconds into the game and i was beyond fucking pissed. when they went up 2-0 i turned the channel and decided i wasn't going to watch another fucking loss to that team. i checked online later and noticed the score was 4-3. i resisted the temptation to turn back to the game. when the Rangers completed the comeback and won 6-5, then i flipped back to the post game interviews and whatnot. needless to say, but that victory beer tasted so fucking good. below are the highlights:
The Jinx was really good. i'm really interested to see where the show goes next week.
Gotham was fucking awesome last night. i absolutely love that show.
Monday Night Raw was interesting last night. i definitely thought it was better than last week. the brawl at the end of the show was really good. that should have the fans fully invested for Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns. the highlight of the night for me was the interaction between HHH and Ric Flair. that certainly put a smile on my face:
when i went out to feed the cats, clean off the sidewalks, etc early this afternoon, i was very thankful it had warmed up to 15 degrees. i believe we hit a high of 21 today. fucking heatwave. i am shocked that i haven't found any dead cats, especially since these fuckers haven't figured out that water does fucking freeze.
mom and i went to the grocery store today. i figured it would be easier to do it today than when it's going to be below zero later in the week. i certainly saw some eye candy in the grocery store. i think a few might even make me put pen to paper soon. all in all, not a bad trip.
i have nothing on television tonight that i'm planning on watching. i figure it will be some home improvement shows and then the news.
i hope everyone is doing well. hopefully this finds you warm with a stiff drink or something else stiff in your hand. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
a little warning for all of you... there may be a few days coming up that i will be completely offline. given the move and the potential chaos coming, i'm not going to try to find time to squeeze in my blog when that time isn't going to exist. now, i'm certainly hoping i can get this move done and not miss any days on here. but, don't be shocked if that miracle doesn't happen. especially when i'm dealing with a shitty ass company like Frontier Communications.

freezing rain, back pain, words going down the drain...
i did watch Sonic Highways last night on HBO. another great episode. i think the reason i have never been to New Orleans is the simple fact that i KNOW i would never leave. it's almost earned some like mythical stature in my head actually. perhaps i'll go there sometime before my poor ass dies. as for the Foo Fighters song at the end, i wish it would've had some horns or some tribute to jazz in it.
today is going to be a busy ass day for me. besides all the sports, i have a ton of dishes to do (i'm lazy), two toilets to clean (still lazy), 4 poems to type up (the words finally came out last night), and finally start the process of deciding what the fuck i'm going to take with me when we move. i have a feeling i might try to sell some shit. or, i'm going to be investing in some of those good plastic storage tubs as we'll have a ton of storage out in the attached garage at the new house. i haven't lived anywhere with an attached garage since i was 21. to think that i won't have to walk over ice and snow and mud and shit and dead animals to start a vehicle is pretty much foreign to me now.
Ohio State plays at home this afternoon against Indiana. they are 34 point favorites. hopefully, the game is never close, because at the same time...
Manchester United is playing at Arsenal. United has so many injuries right now that i have no clue who is even going to play for them. hopefully, i'll be enjoying two victory beers later in the afternoon.
also tonight, i'm hoping to watch Saturday Night Live and ROH. sometime before that, i have to squeeze in a shower. this is one of those days where i'm going to test just how much i can get done in 24 hours while dealing with a bad back.maybe i should go lay naked in a snow pile before it melts.
enjoy that visual.
that's all for me now. i have to get the trash out and get something done before the games come on at noon. plus, i guess the cats would like to eat.
hopefully the fucking newspaper is in plastic this morning.
i do hope everyone has a great weekend. may all your sports teams do well, or may you get to see your favorite play or movie or concert, or maybe she/he will fuck you for free this time.
thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
