where the hell did this month go?

i can't believe we're already at the end of April. they say time flies when you're having fun. so i guess my excuse is i'm old.

here is your poetry for the final day of National Poetry Month:

and for shits and giggles, here's another poetry video:

the New York Yankees completed the sweep of the Angels last night by winning 2-1. that's the first time the Yankees have swept the Angels out there in 15 years. the Yankees have now won 9 games in a row. hopefully, they will continue that streak tonight at Houston.

i did watch a good portion of the NHL and NBA playoffs yesterday. here are the highlights:

the season finale of Homeland was excellent last night. and if the next season starts off with Carrie completely fucking nuts, it should be interesting.

Billions was really good last night, especially the fucking ending.

Westworld was fucking amazing last night.

Silicon Valley was very funny last night.

Barry had an excellent ending last night.

Drop the Mic was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

i went to the bank today to make a deposit. after that, i went to Dollar Tree to look for something mom and i couldn't find at the grocery store. thankfully, i was able to find something like we were looking for. this white woman complimented my shirt while i was in the store. i said thank you. i'm not sure if she thought i was supposed to say something else, as she stared at me like she was expecting something. i was in line at the time, so i just minded my own business, hoping crazy was going to take over and maybe the May poems would start off with a bang. sadly, that didn't happen.

mom got an appointment switched for her physical therapy this week. so, instead of going Friday morning, it's tomorrow morning. oh joy. so i will be on here probably in the afternoon. i guess i'll try to go to bed at a decent time tonight.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i hope everyone had a good April.

it's always fun to win at the death...

i'm not sure why it has to be this way with Manchester United, but it does. they will simply sleepwalk through games sometimes and it will usually take the other team scoring to wake them the fuck up. that pretty much sums up today's game against Arsenal. a 2-1 victory that United definitely needed but probably didn't deserve. oh well. it ensures that Arsenal will not finish in the top 4 and that United will. now United needs 4 points from their last 3 games to clinch a second place finish in the league. Pogba scored in the first half and Fellaini scored the winner in injury time.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees scored early and often last night against the Angels. they won the game 11-1. they were up 10-0 after the second inning. they will go for the sweep tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Homeland, Billions, Barry, Silicon Valley, Westworld and Drop the Mic.

i will probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight as well. i'm currently watching Game 7 between Cleveland and Indiana as i'm writing this.

i'm not sure what to make of what the New Orleans Saints did in the NFL draft this year. i think they stretched a bit too far for some players, but only time will truly tell.

i didn't see any frost this morning, but i know it did get down into the 30's last night. amazingly, i think i almost slept 6 hours, without alcohol.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully, what's left of your Sunday will be even better.

when there's just enough rain...

remember when it was in the 70's the other day and i was somewhat happy? fuck, neither do i. there's a fucking freeze warning for tonight and there was just enough drizzle to make my arthritis dance this morning. i'm normally not a complete fucking asshole on most days. today was not one of those fucking days. let's just say when mom and i went to the grocery store to fix their fuck up from the other day, costumer service was not up to what i believe would be the lowest of fucking standard conditions. their incompetence had me boiling at one point. i bit my tongue, as mom paid for the shit we didn't get. thankfully, the cashier when we were leaving was very understanding and cool. i do understand i don't play well with others. mom tells me all the time that's a problem. she doesn't like my answer. she's read the poems. she understands that if the shit hits the fan, i'll have no qualms with taking my own life. part of me truly believes that she hopes to be dead for a long time before that happens. part of me hopes for that as well. but, who are we fucking kidding...

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees won in 10 innings last night, 4-3 at the Angels. Didi Gregorius is on an amazing tear here lately. and it was really nice to see the team come from behind late to force extra innings when it looked like they were going to piss a game away. they play again tonight.

i did watch a little of the NFL draft last night. so far, i'm okay with what the New Orleans Saints have done.

VICE was really good last night.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Major League Wrestling was okay last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was really good last night.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i'll probably watch some more of the NFL Draft and more of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight as well.

the Greatest Royal Rumble yesterday was pretty good, even though it certainly did not live up to all the hype the WWE put into it. the Rumble itself was the best part of the event. Daniel Bryan somehow stayed in that thing for over 76 minutes. not bad for your fourth time wrestling in 3 years. i did like that they had Braun Strowman win the event. i love that Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy are now tag team champions. i have no clue how they are ever going to get the title off of Brock Lesnar now. all in all, i thought it was pretty cool that the event was on a Friday. and the network stream was really good, so hopefully that opens the WWE to broadcasting more events from foreign countries.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. below are the links:
Buffalo Tom - Five from Quiet and Peace
Sarah Shook & the Disarmers - A Few 'Years'

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Arsenal. hopefully i will be in a good mood.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i'm at the crossroads...

so, it looks like from my latest lab results, my liver is damaged. all my other levels are fine though. so my doctor wants me to come back in a week and get my blood drawn again. this of course is so he can send me to another doctor so they can tell me to stop drinking. so now i'm at the crossroads of do i tell my doctor not to bother or do i tell him i'm going to be a good boy. decisions, decisions.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

i wrote 17 poems yesterday while in the waiting room of my mother's new dentist. i typed those up last night. i really like a few of them. i think i'm somewhere near 50 poems or so for this month. i suppose it's time to get some books ready...

i was a little surprised last night when the New Orleans Saints traded up in the NFL Draft. it's obvious they believe they drafted the missing piece to winning a Super Bowl, as they gave up their first round pick for next season in the trade. that being said, i do love the player they picked.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

Young Sheldon was excellent last night.

Life in Pieces was very good last night.

Atlanta was fucking great last night.

i did watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs last night. here are your highlights:

the New York Yankees didn't get a hit yesterday until the 6th inning. i knew they were losing 3-0 when i was walking into the grocery store. when we got done shopping i asked my mom to check the score. she said the Yankees won 4-3 on a walk off home run from Gary Sanchez. i started to chuckle. that's a 4 game sweep of the Twins and the end to an 8-2 homestand. not bad. they start a series tonight out on the west coast against the Angels.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

i will be watching the Greatest Royal Rumble for most of today on WWE Network.

i will probably watch a little of the NFL Draft tonight, and probably some of the playoffs as well.

it looks like my hope for good weather is going to come to an end tonight. at least i was able to turn off the furnace for a day or so. but, the low will be in the 30's tomorrow night, so i'll have to turn the fucker back on.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

amazing what alcohol can do...

i got nearly 6 hours of sleep last night. that couldn't have been due to that nice glass of Beam and Coke i had last night after the Yankees won, right? of course, my mother isn't thrilled since i don't know the results from my blood test from yesterday. it was to check my liver. i'm willing to bet i'm not going to die anytime soon.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees continued their mastery of the Twins last night. they won 7-4. their offense at home is really something to behold these days. sadly, the homestand comes to an end this afternoon. hopefully the Yankees can get the sweep of the Twins. i'll miss most of the game, but i'm sure i'll check out the highlights when i get back from the grocery store.

NXT was excellent last night.

i did watch a good portion of the NHL and NBA playoffs last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces and Atlanta.

i'm sure i will watch parts of the NFL Draft tonight as well. the New Orleans Saints won't be picking until late in the first round. that's really the only pick i give a shit about.

i haven't listened to it yet, but you can find the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast by going here:

i will probably bring my little notebook with me while mom is at her appointment with the new dentist today. i have no clue how long she'll be in there, so i might as well try to squeeze out some poems while she is. i know we're going to go grocery shopping after that.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before the WWE puts on the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. that starts at noon i do believe. it's scheduled to go on for 6 hours. joy.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

going to that dark place

so i wrote 15 poems yesterday. 2 before i even left the house to take mom to her physical therapy; 13 while sitting in the waiting room. and those were interesting to write as i went pretty dark. death, rape, abuse, murder, devils, drugs, etc. let's just say lunch after that was a little interesting. i really could have used a fucking drink, that's for sure. i typed the poems up when we got home. the rain was just hard enough that my arthritis was making typing damn near impossible. but, like the stubborn fucker i am, i plowed right through it. i've got a damn pile of unpublished poems dying to go out now. my apologies to all the editors and publishers for the next few weeks.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

Menards was pretty good yesterday. mom and i was able to find most of what we were looking for. and we spent less than $100.

The Voice was okay last night. America is doing all the voting now, so of course the final 2 to be possibly eliminated was the only 2 black guys on the show. and, as usual, America kept the wrong one.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was great last night.

Deadliest Catch was excellent last night.

the New York Yankees had 4 errors last night. thankfully, they also had 4 home runs. they defeated the Twins 8-3. they can clinch a series win with a victory tonight.

The Chris Gethard Show was fucking crazy last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will probably watch a good portion of Game 7 tonight between Boston and Toronto in the NHL playoffs. a Game 7 between two original six franchises is pretty much MUST WATCH television.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

i will try to be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom has a dental appointment tomorrow afternoon. and since i'm going to be watching wrestling all of Friday (or at least most of the day on Friday), we're going to do the grocery shopping after her appointment.

if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll do a rush job when i get back from the grocery store.

the doctor's appointment today was just to get blood drawn to look at my liver. i haven't had any alcohol in 19 days. if the Yankees win tonight, that all changes. i should have the results by sometime tomorrow. mom thought i was joking when i told her the nurse she hated was working for our new doctor. well, she found out today that i wasn't lying. that was a fun conversation to listen for 30 minutes.

we went to Red Lobster today for lunch. for some fucking reason i wanted some shrimp tacos for lunch. the ones i got were Southwestern style. so my mouth was on fire for a good portion of lunch. but, as i told mom, if i ever plan on living out there to escape the pain of my arthritis, this is how every meal will be. and it wasn't a bad fire by the way. i handle spicy foods much better than people think i will. of course, i don't get crazy about it and get spicy as hell foods either.

that's all for today kids. i'll see you in the morning.

sometimes, there is no pleasure in the pain...

the rain last night was just enough to have me in misery for most of the night. and as good as i am at finding pleasure in the pain on most days, last night certainly wasn't one of those nights. 2 more days until i start drinking again. i can barely contain my joy.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees defeated the Twins last night 14-1. Miguel Andujar is on a streak that is hotter than hot at the moment. when your name is being tossed around with Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle, you know you are doing something right. the game got so bad last night, the Twins used a position player to get the final outs. hopefully the Yankees can win again tonight.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i have no clue who is getting eliminated tonight.

The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. i am really looking forward to the Greatest Royal Rumble this Friday from Saudi Arabia.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice, The Chris Gethard Show, The Jim Jefferies Show and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i am bringing along my little notebook while mom is at her physical therapy session. i'd love to write a few more poems for this month. i'll have plenty to choose from for my submissions for May then.

after her physical therapy, i believe we're going to go to the Menards store down there. that's the only place around here where i can find pepper suet for a good price. the birds love that shit and the squirrels hate it. and i think we need a few other things as well. after that, it will be a really late lunch/early dinner someplace down there. and once we get back home, i'll have to do the trash and hopefully get that done before all the shows begin.

hence why i'm doing the blog this morning.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

there must be something in the water...

i decided a few months ago to make my Google Hangouts public just in case any friends or fans wanted to get in touch with me. what it truly has done has brought every scam artist in the world to chatting with me. sadly for them, i have caught on. so, if you happen to be a genuine person and have no interest in fucking me over, i do apologize for being an asshole right from the get go. as for the rest of you, best of luck convincing me that you need money because you are stuck in Ghana or need help getting through nursing school or my favorite one, you need money because you have been left behind on your trip with UNICEF.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

a little more poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Philosophical Idiot on my poetry submission i sent back in August of last year and then asked to send again last week. they decided to pass on the poems. this made me laugh. truly. so the plan is for me to get these poems published as a group of five at a certain place so you can see what another place happens to reject. just another way for me to perhaps help any of the younger poets out there with a little trick to make you a better poet. so more on that in early May.

the New York Yankees won yesterday against Toronto 5-1. it wasn't the Yankees top prospect they called up that stole the show yesterday. it was two other younger players that did the job. the Yankees lineup had no one in it that was over 30 years old. this was the first time they had a lineup like that in April since the early 40's i believe. i'm very happy to see them truly commit to being a younger team. now, let the kids grow into the jobs and let another dynasty build in the next few seasons. they start a series with the Twins tonight at home.

Westworld was spectacular last night. i forgot just how much i enjoyed this show. season 2 looks like it should be amazing.

Barry was very good last night.

Silicon Valley was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always.

Homeland was really good last night. the season finale next week should be great.

Billions was excellent last night.

Drop the Mic was pretty fucking funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the rain started this afternoon. thankfully, the grass got cut yesterday. now, if only the turf company mom uses would have fertilized the grass before it started raining instead of during the rain this afternoon.

it was really coming down when i went to the grocery store to pick up my prescription.

but, the weekend weather was really nice for a change.

i will probably be on here early tomorrow as mom has physical therapy in the afternoon. and then we have to do a late lunch plus some shopping at Menards while south of town. so, given the traffic at that hour down there, if i'm back up here by 7 PM, i'll be stunned.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

Earth Day 2018

i figured today would be the day the EPA would announce that they have decided to just rape the planet to death. this would be the day when i lived out on the farm where i wish i had enough money to go plant 100 trees in one of the pastures so there would be a damn forest there in a few years. now i give what little money i do have to organizations that say they are doing that. i pretend that is the truth and that the money isn't going to cover administrative costs instead. so, here's a little advice. unless you have enough money to even think you're going to live on Mars one day, you might want to take care of the only fucking planet you will live on.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

ROH was excellent last night.

i did watch a little hockey and basketball last night. but mostly i watched some UFC.

the New York Yankees are calling up their top prospect today. hopefully he hits the ground running and they can win the series today against Toronto.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Homeland, Billions, Drop the Mic, Westworld, Silicon Valley, Barry and Last Week Tonight.

it looks like Manchester United will be playing Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Chelsea is up 2-0 against Southampton with about 5 minutes left in the match.

the perfect way to start the weekend...

when Manchester United went down 1-0 today, i was not a happy camper. but, much like in the days of Sir Alex, that goal woke them the fuck up. from that point on, i thought United really outplayed Tottenham for most of the game. goals from Alexis and Ander Herrera gave United the 2-1 victory. that means next month they will be playing for a trophy. they will be in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Southampton. i don't think it matters who United faces, they are the better team. they will just need to prove it. May 19th can't get here soon enough.

the New York Yankees couldn't keep a lead last night and ended up losing 8-5. they figured something out overnight and defeated Toronto 9-1 this afternoon. they will have a chance to actually win a series tomorrow. hopefully they will do that.

VICE last night was very good.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Major League Wrestling was much better than i thought it was going to be last night. but, i'm going to love anything that has Pentagon Jr. in it.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night.

i actually got out this morning and put out some bird food. the weather is supposedly going to get better in the next few days. of course, i've heard that shit before. as of right now, this is the coldest April in this area in recorded history.

i will probably watch some of the playoff games tonight, both basketball and hockey.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. i definitely want to be on here before the Yankees play in the afternoon tomorrow.

the New York Yankees won last night 4-3. the bullpen tried to blow the game, but thankfully they didn't. they play against Toronto again tonight.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

rest in peace to the man who taught me how to hate Michigan, Earle Bruce.

the grocery store was pure fucking chaos today. they have moved everything in the fucking store. of course, i had just mastered where every fucking thing was. between that, the scroll mom had, being in the store for more than 2 hours and my blood sugar dropping, i was a bit of an asshole by the end of it. mom of course complained and i had the same comeback i've had for the past 35 years. if you wouldn't have had children with the bottom of the gene pool, maybe this wouldn't be a problem. and the sad thing is, she knows i'm right.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Tottenham in the FA Cup semifinals. i'm really hoping i will be in a good mood.

when the haggard old soul waves the white flag...

i couldn't fall asleep for shit last night. i tried music. i tried masturbation. i tried the old YouTube rabbit hole trick. i tried reading. nothing worked. at 4 in the morning, exhaustion decided to call the fight. i was back awake before 8 AM. i think i managed to really sleep from 8 to 9:15. this is a recipe to die in your 50's, i'm convinced of that. 6 more days before i go back to drinking. and that's regardless of what my fucking doctor says.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees start a series with Toronto tonight at home. it would be nice to see them go on a winning streak soon.

i'll probably watch some playoff hockey and basketball during the commercial breaks tonight.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

i got the photo i ordered in one of the Kickstarter projects i supported today. now i just need to get a frame for the picture of Nosferatu. it's pretty fucking creepy.

i did do a little thinking on my poetry last night. i've got a couple publishers in mind to maybe do either a chapbook or another full length book. now it's just about getting my ass in gear and get everything in order to send. i'm stalling, hoping the weather will get better. that usually helps my arthritis.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. i believe mom has a scroll ready for that. joy.
