welcome to the weekend...

i'm hoping this weekend is a calm one. one with no storms, not a ton of humidity and one where the windows can be open and let a breeze in. i know that's too much to ask for in June, but a guy can dream.

i did watch WWE Super Showdown yesterday. oh god, that was fucking awful. it was easy to tell the heat at ringside was getting to everyone. of course, when the money is more important than the health of your performers, it was easy to see this clusterfuck coming. it was over 100 degrees at 9 in the evening over in Saudi Arabia in case you were wondering.

i did listen to episode 241 of Notsam Wrestling after the show. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2019/6/6/notsam-wrestling-241-montez-ford

here are your highlights from Game 4 of the NBA Finals last night.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

the season finale of Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was great last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the New York Yankees lost last night in Cleveland, 5-2. the boys are hitting a rough patch at the wrong fucking time. hopefully, that will change later today.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the U-20 USA Men's team takes on Ecuador today in the U-20 World Cup quarterfinals. i do plan on watching that.

the Belmont stakes are later today. i'll probably watch that as well.

if the weather does stay nice today, i'll probably try to get out for a little bit.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i'll be on here tomorrow morning, most likely.

until then...

amazing what i can do on 4 hours of sleep

i knew i needed to be up early this morning, so my body decided 6 in the morning was that time. i had other ideas but after 15 minutes of not falling back asleep, i got up. mom wanted breakfast from McDonald's this morning. so i went. it's fucking amazing how an order can get lost from the drive thru speaker to the drive thru window. on top of that, i had to tell the lady 4 different times what the order was before she realized just punch it back into the system and move on. if it was a teenager, i could have understood the problem. but when the person is as old as i am, i'm not as patient. so after breakfast, i went to the local grocery store. that went smooth, thank god. then it was a trip to the main grocery store we use. i had to get gas. and of course, since the asshole think tariffs are paid by someone other than consumers, all the prices on shit at the store were up. so, i was pleased when i got everything on the list and it only cost a little over $115. about a month ago, it would have cost around $90 or so. good times. so, other than 4 black teens who didn't understand how a 4 way stop works, mostly because all of them were on their fucking phones, the drive home was uneventful. i got home a little after 11 this morning. i figure i will crash at some point today. if not, my theory will be working again. if i get 4 hours of sleep, i am productive. anything more than that, and i'm fucking sluggish all damn day.

the New York Yankees won last night in Toronto, 6-2. they start a series tonight in Cleveland.

here are your highlights from Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final last night.

Lip Sync Battle was crazy last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Desus & Mero was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

i do plan on watching Super Showdown this afternoon on WWE Network.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i do plan on watching some of that.

i got the news yesterday when the blog was published about the death of Dr. John. given my love of New Orleans, i absolutely have been influenced by him and his music for most of my life. you will be always loved and dearly missed.

and today is the birthday of another huge influence on me, Prince.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

of course the boil advisory gets lifted...

it was fucking raining like the end of the world when i came out of the grocery store today. i decided fuck it. i haven't had a shower in almost a week, i won't melt. i got fucking soaked. and then, of course, after i got the groceries into the house, the phone rings. it was the city calling to say the boil advisory was lifted. it never fails, especially since i bought more water today as well.

the rain wasn't supposed to come until tonight. i'm hoping that most of the roofs got tarps before this shit hit this afternoon.

Brookville was the last community to get their water back.

mom just took her shower. i'm going to take mine in the morning.

the New York Yankees got rained out last night. that game will be made up as a doubleheader in August. so, hopefully the game tonight against Boston won't have any weather issues.

here are your highlights from Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Lip Sync Battle was like an acid hit last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Deadwood: The Movie, Real Time with Bill Maher, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas and the final part of Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men.

no playoff games tonight, so that's a little weird.

i'll be on here tomorrow, i'm guessing before the Champions League final. and hopefully after a nice long shower.

my brain woke up on fire...

i got up at 7 this morning. 5 hours of sleep. that's pretty much as good as it gets for me. the word on my lips as i woke up was proletariat. i started laughing, figuring my brain was up for 45 minutes or so, brainstorming about god knows what. i just finished typing up the poem that came out of that mess. i like it. hopefully, there will be more to come.

the New York Yankees were rained out last night in Kansas City. they will play a day night doubleheader today. hopefully, they will win both games.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men was excellent last night. the final part of the documentary is next week.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i do plan on watching some of Game 6 between Milwaukee and Toronto tonight in the NBA playoffs. i'll be stunned if the Raptors don't finish it off tonight.

i will probably also watch the free part of AEW's first show tonight on YouTube. i'd love to get the whole show, but $50 is a little too high for my poor ass.

other than that, i'm hoping it will be a pain free day for the most part. i know that's highly unlikely, but i'd like to think i can still dream at my age.

i did watch a little of the first semifinal in the World Hockey Championships this morning. Finland defeated Russia 1-0. Canada plays the Czech Republic this afternoon in the other semifinal.

one step closer to bathing in it...

i have had to use CBD oil twice since the blog yesterday. one for back pain so intense i nearly had to fucking puke and for my side once again. i'm fully convinced now, the shit works. plus, if it's good enough for Ozzy, it's good enough for me.
https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/05/ozzy-osbourne-cbd-oil-combat-pain-injuries/

team USA lost to Russia at the Hockey World Championships 4-3. oh well.

the New York Yankees tried to give the game away yesterday at Baltimore. thankfully, the Orioles fucking suck and instead, gave the Yankees the sweep. the Yankees start a series tonight at Kansas City.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night. it's a shame that this is the last season of the show.

Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

i did watch most of the NBA game last night. even with the playoffs, you only really need to watch the last 5 minutes of the game. having watched most of the game, i can't see Golden State losing a game in the finals, regardless of who they play. here are your highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

the grocery store was as crazy as i figured it would be today. i ended having to go to the drugstore today as well. even with the holiday weekend savings, i ended up spending more at the drugstore than both grocery stores combined. of course, we still don't have a oven that works, so i couldn't really buy most of the frozen food i would have bought. mom's hoping she finds something she likes this weekend and we can go buy it. oh joy.

i will be probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. of course, that depends if i actually get some sleep tonight.

i hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend, except for the 3 fucking Brookville police officers that looked at me today like they wanted to take their lives into their own hands. i'm 43, there is no fucking need to stare at me like i'm some young punk looking to start shit. and people wonder why the police are hated by so many people.

i'm off to go ice my back down for the 3rd time today. good times.

it never fails...

mom and i decided on fish last night for dinner. she set the oven on pre-heat and came back to the living room to watch some television. about 20 minutes later, she went back into the kitchen. i was in my massage chair, icing down my back. i suddenly heard an "oh shit!" from the kitchen. i stopped the massage and started lowering the chair to go into the kitchen. i asked her what was going on and all i could hear was fire. oh fuck. i got into the kitchen and i guess the heating element on the bottom in our oven broke. that was what was burning. mom turned the oven off and that killed the fire. she put the fish back into the freezer. a new oven isn't exactly something we had planned on having to do this weekend. i told her maybe we can hold out to Memorial Day and there will be some sales. she laughed and said the ovens were on sale last weekend. she sent me to go get Taco Bell for dinner. 8 PM on a Friday night in the town i live is fucking crazy, especially at all the fast food places. i figure that's because the whole fucking town basically shuts down at 10 PM. i finally got the food after waiting 30 minutes in line. and of course, they forgot something i ordered. it never fails...

the New York Yankees were losing that night entering the 9th inning, 3-1. Tampa's closer was on the mound and he had been mostly untouched so far this season. the first pitch of the bottom of the 9th, Luke Voit hit a homer. i started to perk up in my chair. when the wild pitch ended up tying the game at 3, i was jacked. and then, the undisputed MVP of the Yankees this season came to the plate. Gio Urshela. he got the game winning hit, giving the Yankees first place in the division. Gio is only batting 100 points higher this season than his "normal" average in previous seasons. hopefully, the first place Yankees will win again this afternoon.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows:

sometimes the heat hits you like a brick wall...

i walked out of the grocery store and the heat smacked me right in the fucking face. by the time i got all the groceries in, i was sweating. then it became a race to get the ice cream home before it melted. hard to imagine it was 40 here earlier in the week. it's around 80 right now, and muggy as hell. good times.

the series finale of The Big Bang Theory was just about perfect last night. i'm really going to miss the show.

the season finale of Young Sheldon was really good last night.

i'm falling apart...

i've had a bad back for probably 20 years now, so when that hurts, it's just fucking normal. but now, when i get a pain in my right foot that comes out of nowhere, or when my right side starts to hurt, etc., i figure the sand is running out of the hourglass. i was in pain the entire time i was in the grocery store today. and that wasn't from my mother forgetting to tell me her one medication was going to cost $132. or the groceries costing just as much. if 40 is supposed to be the true start to life, i'm fucked.

the New York Yankees won last night over Seattle, 3-1. they start a series tonight down in that dump in Tampa. if the Yankees keep on winning, they might actually be in first place by the end of the weekend. given all their injuries, that would be a fucking miracle.

so i'm currently operating on about 3 hours of sleep. i know this, when i die, i will get the best rest EVER.

the New York Yankees won last night against the Twins, 6-3. it was their first win this season over a team with a winning record. of course, every Yankee victory comes with an asterisk, this time being the injury to starter James Paxton. i guess the MRI showed knee inflammation, so he's the latest player on the injured list. they do get Miguel Andujar back today. hopefully, he doesn't re-injure himself.

it stormed all fucking night and most of the morning. i might have got 3 hours of sleep that wasn't me tossing and turning and fighting my fucking bed. oh joy.

at least the sun finally decided to show up...

we did have some storms move into the area last night. a county or so north of us had a tornado, so of course the local channels went to that coverage. thankfully, that didn't happen until the series finale of Gotham was over. but, that also meant i didn't get to see Life in Pieces last night. so, i'll have to find that on demand sometime this weekend i guess.

i did watch most of the first round of the NFL Draft last night. i'll probably watch most of the draft tonight as well. i'm hoping the New Orleans Saints get some guys that can fill some holes.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-0 lead last night and lost to the Angels, 11-5. they start a series tonight at the San Francisco Giants.

of course, i'm not a big fan of eating lunch at 4:30 in the afternoon.
