it stormed all fucking night and most of the morning. i might have got 3 hours of sleep that wasn't me tossing and turning and fighting my fucking bed. oh joy.
and of course, when the rained stopped, nearly every motherfucker around was at the grocery store. on top of going to both grocery stores, i also had to make a trip to the drug store and Family Dollar as well. these are the days where i understand why people do cocaine.
i heard back from The Beatnik Cowboy on my recent poetry submission. a couple of the poems came real close, but ultimately didn't make the cut. oh well, i'll get those published somewhere else.
The Big Bang Theory was really good last night.
Young Sheldon was hilarious last night.
Life in Pieces was really funny last night.
Better Things was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking brilliant last night.

we had a line of storms move through right before i had to take mom to her doctor's appointment. there's supposed to be more coming through tonight. with how i feel at this moment, i would say that is pretty accurate.
mom's appointment went well today. the doctor she saw more or less told her, given the MRI on her back, there's no way she can work. her former employer and the insurance company basically are saying she can. so mom is fucking stressed since she feels like someone is accusing her of cheating the system. fun times.
we went out to lunch after that appointment. i took a new notebook with me today. i ended up writing 9 poems in the waiting room. that's 30 poems for May so far. i typed those up when we got home. i really like a few of them.
the New York Yankees last night got a marvelous pitching performance from Severino and 4 RBI from Stanton to defeat Houston 4-0. they were playing the finale today in the afternoon. i got home in time to watch the Yankees piss away a 3-0 lead. Houston was up 5-3 in the 9th, but the Yankees staged another comeback and won the game 6-5. this was an incredible road trip for the Yankees. they went 6-1 on the trip. they play again tomorrow night at home against Cleveland.
NXT was pretty good last night.
Being Serena was very interesting last night.

i'll probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight. i've got them on in the background right now.
i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store and probably after Manchester United plays as well.
that's all for me kids. i'm fucking tired.

i've been drinking this coconut rum here lately. i didn't think i was going to like it at first... but, half a bottle later, the taste is rather intriguing. https://bluechairbayrum.com/the-rums/#coconut
the New York Yankees broke out the long ball last night and beat Toronto 11-5. they will go for the series win tonight.
the New York Rangers finally started a game in the playoffs ready to dominate right from the start. they blitzed Ottawa last night and eventually won 4-1. that puts them right back in the series now. they play again on Thursday night.
Smackdown was good last night. you give me any show with Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho and AJ Styles as the main part of it and i will be forever pleased.
205 Live was good as well last night.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night. if you watched the last two episodes, you have seen the lengths that junkies will go to to hide shit. plus, the ending last night was very unexpected.
The Voice was really good last night, right up to the end...
i really can't believe they kept Mark over Stephanie. of course, as one YouTube comment put it, they voted for Trump, what do you expect? the lonely housewives won again, i suppose. Stephanie being a lesbian didn't help her cause either, sadly. if Mark stays again next (this is 3 weeks in a row he has escaped) i'm going to call shenanigans on the producers of the show.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Total Divas. i'll watch NXT tonight sometime on WWE Network.
i'm not sure why i had such a hard time sleeping last night. usually, after a couple of victory drinks i can at least get a good 5 hours in. i was waking up every 45 minutes or so, looking at the fucking clock. eventually, i slept on my other side, so i wouldn't see the damn thing. i was amazed my blood sugar was actually decent this morning. usually after some shitty sleep, it's a number i don't like.
they are saying it's supposed to rain here the next couple days. i opened some windows today so i could air the house out before it does rain. they are saying something like 3 inches or more in the next 48 hours or so. fuck me. thankfully, the grass got mowed late yesterday.
today was one of those days when you look in the toilet and say wow, what the fuck did i eat? it's felt like my entire intestines were coming out at times today. i suppose i should be concerned, but that would imply i actually want to live for a long time. no blood, no foul. though i will be taking a nice long shower once i get done writing this.
as i watched Monday Night Raw last night, i could actually tell that the show would be so much better if it was back to being only 2 hours long. the first match of the night was great. the main event was good, almost great. imagine if you took out all the stupid filler and just had wrestling. that could easily fill 100 minutes. 20 minutes of commercials and there you go. even the crowd last night was dead by the end. and that shouldn't happen in any match that involves AJ Styles.
The Voice was good last night, although only a few of the performances really blew me away. i think i know who is going home tonight (Daniel, team Pharrell) but i've been wrong before.
Gotham was spectacular last night. only 3 more episodes left in the season i believe. i smell a cliffhanger coming.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Deadliest Catch.
the New York Yankees start a series in Baltimore tonight. i figure this long ass losing streak has to stop some time. hopefully tonight.
i got some great FREE music at NoiseTrade today. i'll put the links in the music section.
my uncle is back in the hospital. no one bothered to tell him with a fucked up colon, he shouldn't really try eating big meals. so, of course, he started feeling better and started to eat again. sure enough, his body couldn't process the food good enough. colon backs up, vomit and diarrhea... good times. at least they got him to the hospital instead of waiting like they have before.
well, the trash is ready to go out and i certainly need a shower, so that's all for me kids.
take it easy and then take it again.

so i saw my father's obituary in the paper today. i was actually shocked that i was listed as his son. of course, i did get a chuckle with the errors in it. now i really believe that he told his new family what he wanted them to believe and we were left with the truth. i went online to see it and saw two pictures of him one of my aunt's posted. that's the first time i saw him since 1995. pretty much looked the same as i remembered him. i suppose i'm happy that he found a second wife and from everything i've heard, enjoyed his second life. but, i can truly say i'm much happier knowing that he is dead. seeing the obit today lifted a fucking cloud, that's for sure. the funeral is Tuesday at 10 am. i told my mother it was sort of fitting my father would be buried on Cinco de Mayo. kind of a tip of the hat to his former drunken self. that brought back the memory of him passed out on the bathroom floor at the house from getting way too drunk. i think i was like 5 at the time. can't imagine why i started drinking at 6.
i got an email from another one of my aunt's yesterday as well. not exactly defending my father, but sort of in a way. i was pretty proud of my response. i didn't use any dirty words once. lord knows, i wanted to. the link to this blog has been given to all of my dad's family by now. that also means they should all have my new address. so, there really isn't any excuse for ignoring me and my sister now.
my sister and i are going to the funeral. i think mom might go as the designated driver since there is going to be some drinking afterwards. probably in a bar. we are Irish after all.
yesterday was one of the craziest sports days i can ever remember. it started off for me with Manchester United pissing the living shit out of me once again. losing 1-0 to West Brom. how the fuck can you have nearly 80% of the possession for the entire game and never score? oh, that's right, RVP missed a penalty kick that he rarely ever misses. just another one of those days. that makes 3 of just another one of those days in a row. not good.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 4-2. they go for the sweep tonight up in Boston.
the New York Rangers got off to a great start yesterday:
and The King was being The King again:
which made all Rangers fans like this:
here's the highlights from the 4-2 win:
the horse i picked to win The Kentucky Derby finished 3rd. that's actually better than what i normally do.
Game 7 between the Spurs and Clippers was fucking awesome. any playoff game that comes down to a final shot goes well beyond any hype before the game. and Chris Paul did exactly what i've watched him do for years now:
even more amazing considered he strained his hamstring in the first half.
ROH was great yesterday. and Saturday Night Live was pretty damn good as well:
now, a music break:
i really haven't watched any television so far today (SHOCKER). i took mom to Menard's to pay a bill and 90 minutes later we leave with $100 worth of shit for the birds and the house. then, we had to go over to the farm and get the rest of the shit that needed to be put in the trash or taken to be shredded. now that that's finally over, time for some tv.
tonight will be a full night for me. on top of the Yankees game on ESPN, there's some playoff hockey going on. on Showtime, there's Nurse Jackie, Happyish, and one of my favorite shows ever comes back tonight, Penny Dreadful. over on HBO, it will be Veep, Silicon Valley, and Last Week Tonight. given the nice sunburn i got today, i think it's the perfect night to just lay in bed with the fan on and relax.
not really sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. Monday night is shaping up to be another classic clusterfuck for me. more on that tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i absolutely love this time of year. hockey and basketball playoffs, baseball, horse racing, just about every sport i love other than the big 2 college sports are going full stream. lovely. but, with that comes the highs and lows that any fanatic goes through.
last night, the New York Rangers won 3-2 in OT to defeat the Penguins for the first time EVER in a game 1 of a playoff series. since the boys have lost the previous 4 against them, i'm hoping this is a good sign. now, i could live without blowing a 2 goal lead again, or having to watch a game where one ref only has one good eye (which says something about how shitty the officiating truly has been in the playoffs this year when a ref with one good eye is better than someone with 2), but i am thrilled with that win. that game got over in time for me to turn over to the Yankees game.
the Yankees last night were trailing and then managed to tie the game twice late. so, by that time, i'm now invested in the game. but, after leaving a small army on base in extra innings, they lost 10-5 in 14 innings. that's usually how the baseball gods work. Tanaka was on the mound today, but he was not sharp to begin the game. but, the Yankees rallied once again, from down 3-0 to a 9-3 win. the offense finally scored the runs they didn't last night and the pitching was good enough, especially after they got the lead. CC goes tomorrow for the series win.
i was interested to see how Manchester United would play this morning against a Sunderland team that is fighting for their life in the league. sadly, the United players weren't as interested as i was. a 1-0 defeat to a team that hasn't won at Old Trafford in the league since i believe 1968. that should pretty much quiet the call for Giggs to be the full time manager. i really just want to get this damn season over with and forgotten as soon as possible.
i did catch ROH at noon today. that allowed me to take out some of my United anger there. another really good episode.
the rest of my day will be The Kentucky Derby and some playoff basketball. three game 7's should be fun to watch. plus, i do believe that playoff series between the Ducks and Kings gets started tonight. and lastly, Saturday Night Live is new tonight. hopefully i will be able to stay awake for that.
the Rangers game tomorrow is at night, so my tv viewing on Sunday night is going to be pure fucking chaos. i will most likely do my blog tomorrow in the morning, probably before i get the trash out. and if mother nature complies tomorrow, i might actually attempt to get the grass mowed. it's been super fucking windy today, so it has really dried things out. now, if we can simply avoid the rain that is supposed to come overnight, i'll be a happy boy. if not, looks like the grass won't get mowed until Tuesday. and by then, parts of it will be about a foot high. good times.
that's all for me today kids. enjoy some hockey highlights and i will see you tomorrow. be well and be willing to tell a friend that they should buy my book. :)
