a rainy Sunday...

so, i caught mom sleepwalking last night. at least she was using her rollator. she swore she heard other people inside of the house. i told her, unless you can hear inside of my head, then no.

the New York Rangers won last night in Columbus, 4-0. that puts the Rangers in a playoff spot for right now. they face Edmonton today at home.

i did watch some MLS games last night.

AEW Collision was pretty good last night.

i did watch a ton of basketball yesterday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Americas, The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, Last Week Tonight, Yellowjackets and Power Book III - Raising Kanan.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college basketball today, soccer and hockey.

Manchester United plays at Leicester today. hopefully, they will win.

it should be interesting to see what the brackets will look like later today.

i turned the furnace back on. it is supposed to get down to 30 tonight.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

what a Friday night...

so, last night was a bit crazy for me. i usually will make one big bet a night, like a 20 team parlay or something. more or less, just a shot in the dark that maybe i can get lucky with. now, what i will usually do is also play a round robin with that, just in case i get 1 wrong. that way, i can still make some money. of course, it has never worked out for me, until last night. i noticed that i only had 1 wrong going into the last two soccer games on the bet. both of those were in Mexico. the first one went my way. i watched the second one closely as i was really hoping it would play out the way i wanted. holy shit, it did. i turned a $4 bet into $3,600 by getting 19 out of 20. of course, Ohio had to take some money out of that for taxes. so, when i opened by Draftkings account this morning and saw over $3,500 in my account, i just started to laugh. mom was stunned last night that i could even pull something like that off. hopefully, it won't be the last time i do that.

the Dayton Flyers lost last night at Loyola Chicago, 76-72. i only watched some of the game. it was the usual mess. fall into a big hole and never work your way completely out of it.

Smackdown was excellent last night.

so, i did wake up this morning and watched some of the Manchester United at Everton game. the first half was awful from United. they were down 2-0 at halftime. shockingly, United scored 2 in the second half and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Buffalo.

Happy Valentine's Day...

this day is somewhat hard for me, mostly because i don't think i have ever been in a relationship on Valentine's Day. 49 fucking years on this planet. let that sink in. but, i also don't want to be the asshole today and just shit all over those in relationships that have special plans or dinners, etc. such a delicate line to walk on. so yeah. a mix of depression and what can i distract myself with. joy.

i should have just stayed in bed...

so, i got up early this morning so i could watch the Manchester United game. they lost to Crystal Palace at home, 2-0. besides that, they probably also lost Lisandro Martinez to a really bad injury as he was carted off the field in tears. fuck me.

i plucked an ingrown hair off of my face a few minutes ago. i just now got the bleeding to stop. i swear, one fucking thing after another.

the Royal Rumble last night was excellent. i was legitimately shocked when Jey Uso won the men's Royal Rumble. i didn't think the WWE would have the balls to have him beat John Cena at the end. and to be honest, this is exactly how i want Cena to go out. lose every match he has in his retirement tour. that's the best way for him to pass the torch to the next generation. Charlotte winning the women's Royal Rumble made plenty of sense. it was so cool to see Alexa Bliss back. all in all, it was an excellent start on the road to WrestleMania.

AEW Collision was ok last night.

Austin City Limits was really good last night.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Boston, 6-3. J.T. Miller scored 2 goals in his return to the team. hopefully, the boys will win tonight at home against Las Vegas.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Dexter: Original Sin. i will probably be watching the 2025 Grammys for most of the evening.

mom and i had a little talk last night about my concerns with her. i don't like that she can't remember how she fell yesterday. in my mind at least, that has to be yet another sleepwalking episode. i told her last night that with how things are now, i don't see her making it through this year.

there was a massive NBA trade last night. and by massive, i mean shocking as fuck.

not sure what i'm going to do this afternoon other than vacuuming the house once mom wakes up.

happy birthday to me...

well, i started off my 49th year on this planet waking up to a leg cramp and listening to mom puke in her bathroom. i guess that pretty much sums up life. i thank everyone for the wishes and i love what mom got me for my birthday (books, a new coat, etc.). i guess you can say Ohio State got me a huge gift last night.

Ohio State defeated Notre Dame, 34-23, to win the national championship last night.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night.

and now the flipside of my birthday. our oven won't get over 370 degrees. we can still cook on the stovetop. i tried all the troubleshooting last night. nothing worked. so, i put in a call to an appliance repair company today and left a message. i have no damn clue when or if i will get a call back. good times.

so, i'm guessing my birthday meal tonight will be me going to get something at one of the fast food places in town. exactly how i wanted to spend my 49th birthday.

i made a little vow to myself when i went to sleep at 4:45 AM this morning. my goal is to not be sleeping alone on my 50th birthday. now, i know that goes against reality of my life at the moment, but i thought putting it out into the universe couldn't hurt.

enjoy some music:

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Duquesne.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

a sobering thought...

well, i guess over 70 million people have no qualms electing a convicted felon president of the united states. that is something i never thought i would type, but to be honest, isn't really fucking surprising. we're still a racist nation. we're still a sexist nation. i highly doubt our better angels ever change those fucking things either. the muse texted me last night in tears, knowing that she will probably have no choice but to leave this country for good. i listened to my mother cry herself to sleep last night. i wrote 2 poems and was pissed but ready for the conflict. one thing i am is very adaptable. if the country is going to unravel into chaos, i will make sure i can find a way to thrive on it. as i told my mother today, her stocks and 401K will be just fine now. don't be sad, be hopeful you make enough money that we don't have to worry about politics or bullshit ever again. i, an obvious anti-capitalist, have never given two shits about money. if i have it, great. if i don't, fine. it never floated my boat.

now, the convicted felon did tell everyone he won before the number was official, like i said he would. but, this time around, i get the feeling the votes Joe Biden had didn't exist. i feel like a good number of Karens voted for Trump just to piss people off so they could laugh. i'm pretty damn sure that a good number of young men... young, dumb and full of cum, voted for the felon. they won't be happy when they have to find a state that they can take their girl to get an abortion. now, in the grand scheme, the felon comes in as a lame duck, as he can't run again. my fear, is he never plans on leaving the position. he's quipped so many times how he appreciates China and their lifetime president, i get the feeling he might just test the willingness of everyone to just say fuck it to the constitution and the old you will never have to vote again line actually comes true. i'm not that cynical, but, i know how demented people go about their lives. there is no "normal" anymore.

now, for the democrats, please learn one fucking lesson. give up the identity politics and get back to the meat and potatoes shit that works. it is always the fucking economy. no one unless they were a political junkie, even knew any of the good Biden actually did. i saw way too many good democrats lose last night. hell, Ohio has gone so far to the right that we might as well be in the south.

ok, enough fucking politics for now.

the grocery store was quiet today. i get the feeling that most people were just pissed. thankfully, i had enough coupons that i got everything on the grocery list for under $250. it would have been closer to $300 if not. i can't wait to see the prices when the tariffs come.

up way too early... welcome to the weekend...

i got up at 6:45 this morning. i knew when i went to sleep before 3 AM, i was going to be up early. it never fails. hell, even if i take drugs, i'm up early if i go to bed too early. i crashed late this morning and got a little nap in. so, i'm going on roughly 4 hours of sleep. that sums up the last 35 years of my life it seems. 4 hours of sleep.

the Yankees won yesterday at home against Cleveland, 6-0. they held Cleveland to just 1 hit in the game. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Colorado.

Big Brother was good last night. Brooklyn got evicted. T'Kor is the new HOH.

goodbye to june...

hard to believe today is the last day of June. i went to bed last night before 2 AM. sadly, all that means anymore is i will be up by 6 AM. sure enough. at least my blood sugar was lower. i got the notice in the mail yesterday why the Rybelsus was denied. apparently, just because a drug is unavailable, doesn't mean you can change over to the another drug in the same class. apparently, the insurance is ok with me going without my medicine and just get so bad you have no choice but to go on insulin for the rest of your life. fuck me.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 9-3. hopefully, they will split the series today.

the Euro 2024 matches yesterday were good. Switzerland defeated Italy 2-0 and Germany beat Denmark 2-0. today England plays Slovakia and Spain takes on Georgia.

i did watch some of the Copa America games last night. Argentina beat Peru 2-0 and Canada and Chile played to a 0-0 draw. that means Argentina and Canada both advance to the knockout rounds. today, Mexico plays Ecuador and Jamaica takes on Venezuela.

AEW Collision was good last night.

enjoy some music:

other than soccer, i'm sure i will watch some NASCAR and golf today, all in hopes of getting some more sleep.

goodbye to the logo...

i actually got sleep last night. a little over 4 hours in my massage chair. i was taking my blood sugar this morning and the news flashed on my phone just as i was watching the Dan Patrick Show. Jerry West had died. i knew Dan was going to be crushed by this as i have seen over the years what Jerry West meant to the show. as someone that loves basketball, Jerry West is one of those Mount Rushmore guys that are bigger than life. the man is the logo of the NBA. there was probably no classier man that has lived on this earth. if you don't know much about him, do yourself a favor and dive down the rabbit hole and learn everything. it will be worth your time.

the grocery shopping went pretty well today, other than my back pain. now, on the way home, i was stuck downwind from a fertilizer truck. and i'm supposed to believe people when they tell me god loves me.

the New York Yankees won last night at the Royals, 10-1. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

a fresh slice of hell...

it was beyond fucking humid today. the air you can wear. thankfully, i got the grocery shopping done before the storms hit. that is, if the storms make it past the state line of apathy tonight.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

the New York Yankees lost last night to Seattle, 6-3. i'm hoping they will find a way to win tonight.

the season finale of The Voice was good last night.

the two episodes of Stax: Soulsville U.S.A. were excellent last night. i highly recommend all 4 episodes to anyone that has a love of music.

NXT was very good last night.

the New York Rangers play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at home tonight against the Florida Panthers. the two best teams in the east going against each other to see who goes to the Stanley Cup final. this has the makings of a classic.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight as well.

i don't see this ending well...

my body and pain have had a very long relationship. fuck, almost my entire life. so, there are days where the pain is such that i really can't do much. either through apathy or just enormous pain, all i can muster is getting some ice and hopefully getting some sleep. the ice wasn't really working today. but, i did manage a good nap after only getting about 3 hours of sleep last night. my lipoma was very bothersome last night. that's always fun. good times.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-1 lead last night and lost at home to Seattle, 5-4. hopefully, they will do better tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night.

night 1 of the season finale of The Voice was very good last night. i have no clue who will win the show tonight.

so Orkin just left. they caught two squirrels the other day and forgot to tell us. thankfully, they didn't burrow into the new insulation in the attic. the noises we heard a few weeks ago was them trying to find a way out. of course, they fucked with the dryer vent and popped that out on the side of the house and got out that way. so, one of the techs will be out here tomorrow to fill in the last hole they were using and put a new dryer vent cover on. all of this is free of charge thankfully. now my concern is how the trap on the roof ended up on the ground. they told me that was screwed in, so the only way that could have been ripped down was by a racoon. oh joy.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get all the grocery shopping done.

one of those days...

so, i did hear from the muse this morning before i went grocery shopping. i guess her phone was fucked up and just got it back. at least i hadn't got to the point where i was checking hospitals and the obituaries. that took a load off of my mind. grocery shopping went well today. i kept it under $200, which is becoming harder and harder to do honestly.
