i should have just stayed in bed...

so, i got up early this morning so i could watch the Manchester United game. they lost to Crystal Palace at home, 2-0. besides that, they probably also lost Lisandro Martinez to a really bad injury as he was carted off the field in tears. fuck me.

i plucked an ingrown hair off of my face a few minutes ago. i just now got the bleeding to stop. i swear, one fucking thing after another.

here are your links for today for this day of Black History Month:

the Royal Rumble last night was excellent. i was legitimately shocked when Jey Uso won the men's Royal Rumble. i didn't think the WWE would have the balls to have him beat John Cena at the end. and to be honest, this is exactly how i want Cena to go out. lose every match he has in his retirement tour. that's the best way for him to pass the torch to the next generation. Charlotte winning the women's Royal Rumble made plenty of sense. it was so cool to see Alexa Bliss back. all in all, it was an excellent start on the road to WrestleMania.

AEW Collision was ok last night.

Austin City Limits was really good last night.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Boston, 6-3. J.T. Miller scored 2 goals in his return to the team. hopefully, the boys will win tonight at home against Las Vegas.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Dexter: Original Sin. i will probably be watching the 2025 Grammys for most of the evening.

mom and i had a little talk last night about my concerns with her. i don't like that she can't remember how she fell yesterday. in my mind at least, that has to be yet another sleepwalking episode. i told her last night that with how things are now, i don't see her making it through this year.

there was a massive NBA trade last night. and by massive, i mean shocking as fuck.

not sure what i'm going to do this afternoon other than vacuuming the house once mom wakes up.

i should be on here in the afternoon on Monday most likely.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

a bad back and on and off rain...

i couldn't get my back to calm down last night. no matter how i tried to sleep, it was useless. eventually, at 5 AM, i finally went to sleep. mind you, i was in bed before 3 AM. i'm not sure if it is stress or actual pain that is fucking with me at times. the weed gummies are helping, but the last thing i want to do is rely on them 24/7. oh well.

so, i checked the Kroger website this morning and holy shit, all my prescriptions were there. so, i called and got the refill of my Gabapentin started. now, i have no clue if they are actually going to get to it today or not. mom takes it as well, so i do have a back up. hopefully, it will be done by the time i go there to do the grocery shopping tomorrow. i'm just happy i was able to get them transferred before that Rite Aid closes.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

Name That Tune was pretty good last night.

i only watched a little of the Home Run Derby last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch and Hard Knocks off season.

i will probably watch some of the MLB All Star game tonight.

the USWNT has a friendly tonight against Costa Rica.

been raining cats and dogs all damn day...

today has been pretty miserable here. nothing but heavy rain. arthritis has really fucked with me since i woke up this morning. thankfully, the contractor did show up today and got a good amount of things done in the bathroom. and since mom has no appointments next week, i'm hoping it will be almost finished by this time next Friday.

so, the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Ottawa, 5-3.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

Vice News Tonight was good last night.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

today was the trade deadline for the NHL. most of the big moves happened in the past few days, but there was a couple of big trades today.

gambling has really been hit and miss the last couple of days. hopefully i will catch a few more breaks in my bets tonight and tomorrow.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, The 12th Victim, Real Time with Bill Maher and Game Theory with Bomani Jones. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

the New York Knicks play tonight at Miami.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Saint Louis. Dayton already has the number 2 seed in the A10 tournament, so i'm hoping they win tonight to boost their resume a bit.

hopefully, the rain won't knockout the satellite feed tonight.

i haven't looked at the rain gauge to see how much we have got today. it has to be a couple of inches easily so far.

i need to figure out what i'm making for dinner tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before the New York Rangers play in the afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

a great start to a Saturday...

i couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in last night, so it was a series of naps at best all night long. i knew Manchester United was playing this morning, so i was hoping to get a little decent sleep so i could watch the game. that didn't happen either. so, i basically slept through the first half. it was 0-0 at halftime, and i decided to get up. as soon as i was going to put the game on, Manchester City went up 1-0. well fuck, i'm not going to watch it now. so, somewhere between my emails and breakfast, Manchester United scored 2 goals in 4 minutes. Bruno and Rashford put United up 2-1. thankfully, that was the final score. now, United is only 1 point behind City in the Premier League.

so, Manchester United was the first leg of my crazy 3 team parlay bet this morning. i actually made it a few days ago so i wouldn't talk myself out of it. i had Brighton beating Liverpool and Wolves beating West Ham as the other two legs. well, HOLY SHIT!!! Brighton won 3-0 and Wolves won 1-0. that turned my little $10 bet into $412.65. as i told my mother this morning, sometimes i just feel like a fucking genius. so yeah, i am in a pretty damn good mood, which is a complete 180 from where i was last night after the Dayton Flyers game.

the Dayton Flyers pissed away a 14 point halftime lead last night and lost at home to VCU, 63-62. it was the first time in awhile that you could tell just how much Dayton misses their starting guards. and i'll never understand why Anthony Grant doesn't have his teams drilled into their heads about taking care of the ball in the last few minutes of games. oh well.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was excellent last night.

Young Rock was pretty funny last night.

the New York Knicks won last night in Washington, 112-108, over the Wizards.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

so i won both of my NBA bets last night and just missed winning my NHL bet last night. i have plenty of NFL bets going today since the playoffs start today.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Austin City Limits.

i do plan on watching both NFL playoff games today. Seattle is at the 49ers and the Chargers are at Jacksonville.

i probably will hit Rite Aid at some point today to pick up my prescription. i was a little shocked when they texted me at noon and said it was ready.

i have to give myself my Trulicity shot here in a little bit, so that is all for me kids.

i should be on here in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

there must be rain on the way...

first off, a little poetry news. i sent off 8 poems today; 3 to The Beatnik Cowboy and 5 to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication). when i get the verdict on the poems, i will pass them along.

my sister did come down yesterday. she got me $25 of baseball and football cards. i paid her for the cards and then opened them. the first box i did was the football cards. there was an autographed card in the box, which is going for around $30 (Greg Ward Jr. rookie autographed card). i showed that to my sister and she of course couldn't give two shits. all in all, for my $25 i think i got around $75 worth of cards. i did get my order from Topps.com yesterday as well. i ordered another box of 2020 Topps Big League Baseball. i got the Aaron Judge figurine i was hoping for this time. i got a ton of good cards between that box and the 2020 Topps Heritage box i got. that $45 spent got me around $200 worth of cards. i'm still in the process of getting everything in order. it's going slow, but i'm getting there.

i watched two college football games yesterday. both were crazy as fuck. Oklahoma defeated Texas 53-45 in 4OT and Alabama defeated Ole Miss 63-48. when the fuck did the SEC become the Big 12?

ROH was really good last night.

Austin City Limits was supposed to be the Yola episode last night. instead, it was the H.E.R. episode that i have already recorded.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Lovecraft Country, The Vow, Our Cartoon President, The Good Lord Bird, The Comedy Store and Desus & Mero.

Game 6 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i might watch some of that, most likely the ending for sure.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know mom mentioned something about going out to look at cellphones. my sister said something yesterday about a buy one get one promotion going on somewhere. and i know mom wants me to finally have one. i don't really care one way or another. if i really wanted people to be able to contact me 24/7, i'd already have one. oh well.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

one of those Fridays where i should have just stayed in bed...

i guess with death always in the news and certainly on my mind the last few days, today i reached my breaking point. next thing i knew, i was down one rabbit hole on YouTube and 3 hours had passed. so yeah, i'm not sure what's going to kick me out of this depression. i may try doing a recording this weekend, just for shits and giggles, to see how it comes out. i know i have a few poems in mind for my next SoundCloud recording.

the freeze warning starts tonight at midnight. nothing like listening to the furnace run all night in May. i think we're supposed to get down to the low 20's. fuck me.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Shelter in Place with Shane Smith was excellent last night.

No Mercy, No Malice with Professor Scott Galloway was great last night. i highly recommend that everyone watches it. below is the first episode.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher and Betty. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch some of the NFL schedule release last night. i like the New Orleans Saints schedule for the most part, other than one horrible road swing in the second half of the season. playing the Vikings in New Orleans on Christmas will be rather interesting.

all the songs in the music section today are from Belly Up Live. if you love live music, definitely check them out: http://bellyuplive.com/

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

hopefully i will be in a better mood, but don't get your hopes up.

stay healthy.

it's a good time to be alive if you're a wrestling fan...

i am very eager to see what NXT and AEW do tonight. i was alive for the last wrestling wars in the 90's. this has a much different feel to it. especially since there are people in both promotions that i love and have followed for years. hopefully it's 4 hours of the best wrestling on the planet and i go to bed tonight exhausted and happy.

i didn't watch much of the baseball game last night. the Nationals had a dramatic comeback late and beat the Brewers 4-3. the Nationals will now face the Dodgers. tonight is the American League Wildcard game between Tampa and Oakland. the winner will go on to face Houston.

The Voice was good last night.

Total Divas was very good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

Mr. Mercedes was great last night.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

Diego Maradona was fascinating last night. i still remember that Hand of God goal from the 1986 World Cup. i recommend this documentary to any sports fan out there. yet another cautionary tale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, AEW: Dynamite, The Masked Singer, Cake, American Horror Story and 24/7 College Football.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

the NHL season starts tonight. if i get a chance, i'll probably watch some highlights.

i need to do my laundry tomorrow as well. i would have done it today but it's too fucking hot. i think tomorrow the heat wave is supposed to finally break.

that's all for me kids. i need to go have a late lunch and ice my neck down again. good times.

it's like punching a brick wall with a pillow...

it seems no matter how much or how little effort i put into anything, some shit just isn't going to go my way. i find the courage to get over my self-hatred and make a video and of course, it's too large. and i wish i was talking about something other than the video. add in a little rejection and pain and you have nearly every Sunday morning of my adult life. and sadly, i know i'm not going to be able to find the pleasure in the pain forever.

a little poetry news to pass along: i heard back on my poetry submission from last month to Squawk Back. they rejected all 10 poems i sent. that was a nice kick in the nuts. well, there's 10 more back on the pile. and like the glutton for punishment i am, my next round of poems will go out tomorrow.

World Cup update:
Croatia defeated Russia on penalty kicks (4-3) in an absolutely crazy fucking game. so now the final four is set up. France plays Belgium on Tuesday and Croatia takes on England on Wednesday.

the NJPW G1 Special in San Francisco last night was really good. the angle at the end i totally didn't expect. that should make for an interesting summer for The Bullet Club.

ROH was good last night.

Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma was pretty fucking funny last night.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-5. of course, they had a couple injuries that i hope aren't serious. hopefully they will win the series this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Total Bellas, Power, Sharp Objects, Succession, The Affair and the season finale of I'm Dying Up Here.

of course, i had to make the video i did a little artistic, you know me. but, it was easily the best shot i have ever got of completion.

i imagine i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the post office. i have some poems to mail out.

i believe the shitty humid weather returns tomorrow. so, i'm hoping to actually enjoy the windows being open today. other than the runny nose from this morning, so far so good.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

pure ecstasy and a lingering pain

last night could have been one of those nights where you look back with such joy as a sports fan, that you remember it forever fondly. instead, Joe Girardi fucked any chance of that happening with one of the more baffling managerial decisions i have seen in a long time.

the New York Yankees were winning 8-3 last night and for some fucking reason, Joe decided to take CC out of the game in the 6th. if he would have been bringing in a reliever that wasn't used in the Twins game, i could understand it. instead, he brought in Chad Green. no biggie there. but, when there was guy from the Indians that the umpire said was hit by a pitch when he clearly wasn't, Joe didn't bother to have the play reviewed. his catcher, Gary Sanchez, was screaming that it didn't hit him. nope, Joe's dumb ass was waiting for a visual clue from his staff to tell him to review it. it never dawned on him that you might want to go ahead and review the damn thing anyway since the bases would be loaded and the Indians best hitter would be coming up. and, oh by the way, it would have been the third out of the inning as the ball actually hit the bat and Sanchez caught it for the third strike. so, as you might imagine, the next batter hit a fucking grand slam and the Indians comeback was on. 8-7 soon turned to 8-8 and then came extra innings. the Yankees lost 9-8 in 13 innings to go down 2-0 in the best of 5 series. what pissed me off more than anything was Joe Girardi not taking any fucking responsibility for the review mishap. fucking excuses rather than yeah, i fucked that up. it's time for the Yankees to move on from him now. as is RIGHT NOW. let fucking Tony Pena manage Game 3 and get it over with. it's not like they have a fucking chance anyway. the Yankees final game of the season will be on Sunday night (probably). i'll be watching wrestling, so thankfully i'll miss most of it.

thank god the US Men's National Team didn't shit on my heart last night like the Yankees did. they certainly came out prepared and on a fucking mission. Panama had only given up 5 goals for the entire HEX. the USA scored 4 on them last night in a beautiful and much needed 4-0 victory. this means all the USA needs to advance to the World Cup will be a win or draw at Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.

VICE was very interesting last night.

NJPW was very good last night.

Room 104 was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was great last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH, Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits.

Ohio State takes on Maryland this afternoon at home. hopefully they will get another victory today.

the New York Rangers play at Toronto this evening. i'm really dreading this game tonight. the Rangers defense will have to be much better as i know the forwards on the Maple Leafs are legit. and hopefully The King is much better tonight as well.

other than that, i know i have dishes to do, i probably should at least think of doing my laundry and given my imagination, i'll probably have a few poems to write as well.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

well, will you look at this...

i got up this morning after yet another night of spotty sleep. when i noticed that Manchester United's regular keeper was injured, i was thinking oh fuck, here we go again. not that i doubt his backup at all, it's just when the snowball starts rolling downhill... and then i saw Fellaini was the captain today. what fucking bizarre world did i wake up to? thankfully, United took care of business today and beat Sunderland 3-0. i was really happy to see Rashford score today. he's been due for a long time. next up is a game in Belgium in the Europa League on Thursday.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-1 lead yesterday and lost 5-4. on top of that, Gary Sanchez strained his bicep on his throwing arm and is now on the disabled list. hopefully they will avoid the sweep today. i doubt it though. the home opener tomorrow should be really interesting.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 3-1. they play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. i'm not sure who will be getting rested tonight. apparently the coach believes they will just flip the switch on when the playoffs start. joy.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

ROH was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Girls, Crashing, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Feud: Bette and Joan.

i wrote 8 more poems last night, including a pretty long one (for me at least). i definitely have a nice batch of new ones to pick from now. i'd like to get one more writing session in before my next round of submissions.

my sister went back home earlier today. i had her take a picture of mom's leg, mostly so she would actually see with her own eyes that the surgery didn't get pushed back just for shits and giggles. hopefully that does the trick.

today is somewhat bittersweet for me. with the NHL regular season ending today, it will also be the end of fantasy sports for me. i've realized it's just not any fun anymore for me, and i'm too old to be wasting time on shit i don't enjoy.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

a little more winter on the way

i had a pretty busy day today. i wanted to get some shit done before the next round of winter rolls in. the trip to the bank was uneventful, even though i laugh when i get all the odd looks of being a white guy in a black bank. that never gets old. i wanted to make sure i filled up the vehicle, just in case. plus, i wanted to use the points we had to get money off the gas before they expired. the grocery store was busy, but i expected that. the elderly tend to panic when weather is coming. i found everything we needed plus some extra alcohol for the new year. i got back home about 2 hours after i left. the one thing i like is to be as efficient as i can. especially as i get older, i'm not a big fan of wasting time. of course, i don't exactly have someone to waste time with, so...

Smackdown was excellent last night. all 3 championship matches were memorable. i was surprised they had American Alpha win the tag team titles. i thought they would wait for a bigger event for them to beat The Wyatt Family. Alexa Bliss is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. and i loved how they booked the match between AJ Styles, Dolph Zigger and Baron Corbin. the only part i didn't like was that John Cena was back. hopefully AJ beats his ass again.

205 Live was great last night. Jack Gallagher is pure gold. and i could watch Neville and Rich Swann wrestle all night long and never get bored.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

team USA takes on Slovakia tonight in the World Juniors tournament. hopefully they take care of business tonight and aren't looking ahead to their game against Russia tomorrow.

i wasn't very happy when the New York Rangers were down 2-0 less than 3 minutes into the game last night against Ottawa. thankfully, the boys showed a little resolve and got a little puck luck as well. the Rangers came back to win 4-3. that was a very tasty victory beer after that one.

i think i know the poem i want to do an end of the year YouTube video for. now, will my lazy ass actually get it done before the new year? that's a good question.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton and Sam Roberts podcast this morning. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-006-donald-sutherland-childhood-mischief

and you thought i was joking...

remember when the Cubs won the World Series and i said welcome to the apocalypse, the world is coming to an end. and you thought i was joking.

truthfully speaking, i didn't like any of the candidates running for President. the only person involved in government that comes close to my way of thinking is Bernie Sanders. but i never truly thought this country would be so fucking stupid. i forget who said it first, but it's a statement that i have remembered since i was in high school.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IGNORANCE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

i feel sorry for my sister and my mother. and honestly any woman in this country that actually thinks this country believes they are equals to men. it's painfully obvious that so many in this country don't think that way or choose to never believe it. the number of white women that gleefully just elected a person who brags about sexual assault is not only confusing to me but quite frankly, fucking disgusting. i wonder if these will be the same women bitching when Roe v. Wade gets overturned or when there suddenly are no women on the Supreme Court anymore. but, part of the blame deserves to be on Hillary as well. only someone in the elite of this country could actually believe that you deserve to be the President because it is your turn. this should signal the time for the entire Clinton part of the Democratic party to go away.

also, the news media, as i have told many of you for years, never tells you the truth. Ray Bradbury told an audience i was in years ago to never listen or watch the local or national news. go find the truth for yourself.

as someone who went to a black high school, i learned very quickly in life that being a racist would get me killed. it's appalling to me that so many fucking whites in this country didn't get the chance to learn that lesson. and now, they feel like they have a voice at the table since their leader just got elected. how the fuck did people actually believe that racism ended when Obama got elected? i'll be shocked if the KKK doesn't ask for a meeting at the White House at some point in the next 4 years.

lastly, i hope the people that voted for Trump do realize, you did not elect a President, you elected a King. politicians govern, kings rule. and Trump will rule, trust me. he has NEVER given two shits about the poor at anytime in his fucking life. anything coming out of his mouth about it now is complete and utter bullshit. what is even worse is the Vice President Elect. here is a man that believes women should have the rights they had in the 1800's and nothing more. and i'm sure the religious right is thrilled that he is there to push their backward ass agenda for this country. so many poor white people truly believe that a rich old white guy is going to give them the magic ticket one day. this is how people get rich you dumb fucks, taking advantage of you stupid people.

and people have the fucking gall to ask me why i don't vote. this is exactly why. i do not want to be associated with the stupid fucks who think their civic duty is to pick the lesser of two evils.

now i must figure out which pro marijuana state i am moving to or find some really cheap property in Costa Rica and never come back.

add on top of that bullshit last night, the New York Rangers lost to a Vancouver team that had lost 9 games in a row, 5-3. just one of those nights where nothing went well for the boys. they couldn't get anything going and they paid for it. they are off until the weekend.

i did see that the Sacramento Kings won again last night. that's 2 in a row now.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. it at least provided me a decent distraction from the election.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, American Horror Story, You're The Worst, Any Given Wednesday, Total Bellas and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i heard back on my poetry submission from Easy Street yesterday. they decided to pass on the 5 poems i sent. i did appreciate the comments on why the poems weren't accepted. that definitely will be remembered.

i wrote 5 poems this afternoon after a quick trip to the grocery store to get mom's medications. surprisingly, only 2 were about the election. i've got a stack to send out here in a few days probably.

that's all for me today. i've got to figure out what i'm going to do for health insurance when the Republicans kill Obamacare and replace it with what we used to have. especially considering i am a Type 2 diabetic now, it will be interesting.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
