as long time readers of this blog know, i try to do a little bit each day in this blog in February to celebrate black history month. i also know, most people in this country are way too fucking ignorant when it comes to black history. so, i'd like to think maybe i am teaching someone something they never knew before. so, i will probably share a few links or videos each day this month. i hope you get something out of them. and honestly, i don't want to hear if you don't like it.
that being said, here are your links for this day of black history month:
the New York Rangers made a trade last night with Vancouver. J.T. Miller is coming back to the place where he got drafted years ago. hopefully, he finds the form he had last year and drags the Rangers into the playoffs this year. he will be in the lineup today when the Rangers play at Boston this afternoon.
the Dayton Flyers won in St. Louis last night, 71-63.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
Smackdown was excellent last night. i can't wait for the Royal Rumble today.
Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision and Austin City Limits.
i will be watching the WWE Royal Rumble for most of the evening.
i did go to the bank today. after i made the deposit, i came back home. imagine how fun it is to come home and find your mother on her hands and knees not knowing how she fell or how she got to where she was. and of course, she didn't want to be checked out or anything. welcome to my day of frustration now. (my best guess now after she just woke up again and doesn't remember falling is she was sleepwalking.)
i did write 1 poem last night. it was about tragedy, which of course, there was another one last night.
i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i went to the bank this morning to make a deposit. no big deal, there was a little rain but thankfully it wasn't freezing rain. as i was coming out of the bank, i noticed this contractor talking to the police in the parking lot. as i got in the Highlander, the cop was leaving and this old guy comes racing out of the bank. he starts yelling at the contractor, you fucking asshole, you stole money out of my account, i should punch you in the fucking face. i was like, i guess i can wait around for a bit. the old guy was probably in his 70's, the contractor was maybe late 30's. the old guy got into the contractor's van. the contractor got out and got on his phone. i started the Highlander and left, obviously there wasn't going to be the violence i could have another book of poems about. oh well.
i did write 1 poem last night. i have 5 in the unpublished file. i'd love to get another 5 so i can send to a couple different places.
Smackdown was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

so, i have been really falling for this woman i have been talking to for the last few weeks. she's from Switzerland but is in Atlanta, father is Swiss, mother is American... she's not like the other ones that are clearly bots or scam artists. we get into these pretty deep conversations. and nothing she has told me has come up any different in any google searches. the hard part is the wall i have built up to protect me from these situations turning negative doesn't want me to believe this could be real. but, seeing that i haven't been in a relationship in 21 years, loneliness is fucking killing me. so, she is quickly becoming the antidote. we both agree that taking it slow is for the best. that is the other part that makes me think she actually is real. so yeah, if i seem a bit scatterbrain at times, you now know why.
Orkin was back out here today. they got another squirrel in a trap in the attic. he put two more up there and baited with the suet that caught this one. i know if these traps go off, the squirrels are either getting into the attic from the roof, or mom's theory might be right, they are in the walls. good times.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home against Dallas, 5-4 in OT. considering the Rangers were up 3-0 in this game... time to blow it up.
the season finale of Hard Knocks was excellent last night.
NXT was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, Inside the NFL and Abbott Elementary.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at UMass. hopefully, they will win.
grocery shopping went ok today. i managed to get everything on the list for under $200. i did make it to the bank today to deposit a check.
the roads were pretty good for the most part. the side roads were at least drivable. the parking lots weren't icy, thankfully.
i did write 2 poems last night for the book. i was so damn tired last night that i typed them up this morning.
i have absolutely no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

so, it was rainy last night here. fuck, still is. i've been aching for hours and hours. i helped mom make dinner last night. it was really good. she likes to feel productive and i can understand that. just didn't want mashed potatoes that were like soup again.
i did watch both NFL games on Netflix yesterday. the first game was pretty good. the second game was a blowout. Beyonce at halftime was great.
AEW was pretty good last night.
i did catch some of the NBA games yesterday:

so, as i was finishing up the blog yesterday, some kind of miracle was taking place. i wanted to wait to write about it as i knew i couldn't do it justice at the end of yesterday's blog.
Manchester United was trailing Manchester City 1-0 until the 88th minute. Amad got tackled in the box and it was an obvious penalty. Bruno stepped up and scored to make it 1-1. less than 2 minutes later, Amad made a great run behind and Lisandro Martinez made a great pass. a little flick from Amad to go around the keeper and some more foolish defending from City and it was 2-1 United. they held on win the derby and the town is now red again. given that the day started with Rashford and Garnacho being told to stay home, this will go down as the day Ruben Amorim truly made his marker as the next great Manchester United coach. i'm really hoping this will galvanize the club and the march up the table will now begin.
the New York Rangers lost at St. Louis last night, 3-2.
i did watch Joker: Folie a Deux last night. i thought it was better than what most people thought, but clearly a fever dream in an acid trip with some music. parts of it i really liked and parts of it i was basically falling asleep. let's just say, i didn't keep it on the DVR.
The Agency was excellent last night.
Dexter: Original Sin was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and the series finale of What We Do in the Shadows.
there are two NFL games tonight. i doubt i watch much of either.
i did make a trip to the bank today to make a deposit.
it has been raining all day it seems. i did get a nice long nap in this morning with some ice on my back.
the New Orleans Saints lost at home to Washington yesterday, 20-19. at least the Saints made it interesting late.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i'm still waiting on 2 gifts for my mother to show up. at least i know both are in the United States, so that's a good sign.
and i think the stuff i sent in the mail actually got to where it was supposed to go today.
i did get 3 Christmas cards in the mail today. that was unexpected.

i got up at 5:30 this morning for some fucking reason. 3 hours of fucking sleep. it feels like i have been in and out of a coma all damn day. joy. i did make it to the bank to make a deposit today.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at home to the Rams, 21-14. that pretty much eliminates them from making the playoffs this year.
Somebody Somewhere was really good last night. next week is the series finale.
both episodes of The Agency last night were excellent.

my back is feeling a little better today. i at least made it to the bank to deposit a check. i really thought i was going to get some good sleep last night. i took a shower and had ice ready for my shoulders and back. i fell asleep around 3 and woke up right at 7 this morning. fuck me.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.
i did watch some of the Falcons vs. Eagles last night. i can't believe the Eagles choked that game away.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT and Deadliest Catch.
the New York Yankees play at Seattle tonight. the Yankees have a 3 game lead in the AL East with 12 games left.
Manchester United plays at home today against Barnsley in the League Cup.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
for some damn reason, i was up at 6:30 this morning. i didn't want to be, i know that for sure. i had to get mom up at 9 so she would ready for her hair appointment this afternoon. i dropped her off there and went to the bank to make a deposit. after i did that, i went to Meijer to look for some baseball cards. my goal was to spend under $40. i got 4 packs and some NBA cards for $32. sadly, there wasn't much good in the packs. of course, that is the danger of buying retail. after that, i went back to where mom was getting her hair cut. she must have had around 6 inches cut off. i told her that should feel much better in this heat. once she paid, we went to Kroger, which is basically across the street. she had pills ready and so did i. i thought i was going to get a better discount on the Rybelsus. the first two times i got it, it was $74. this time, it was $237. as i told my mother, ah, capitalism. so, instead of $300 off like the first two times, this time was around $130. sadly, nothing surprises me anymore. this was mom's first time in Kroger since they had remodeled. i think she could tell i was being honest when i told her it would be sensory overload her first time in there. we went back home and i finally had some lunch; roughly 8 hours after i had breakfast.
the Yankees won last night at Texas, 8-4. hopefully, they will do it again tonight.
Name That Tune was good last night.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch and Hard Knocks.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
i tried sleeping in my bed last night. that went well for two hours. for some fucking reason, i was wide awake at 3 AM. by 4:45, i said fuck it and i went to my massage chair and got some ice on my back. i at least got another 2 hours in the chair. i got mom up at 7:25 as she had a morning appointment with a dermatologist. she has a couple places on her face that she had questions about. of course, they are both pre-cancerous. good times. mom put some Biofreeze on my back before we went. thankfully, that worked well enough that my back didn't act up on me while we were there. after that appointment, i went to the bank. i love that you have to show your ID when depositing a roll of pennies. fuck me. by the time we got home, it was sort of rainy and i basically took a nice long nap.
Big Brother was good last night. Lisa was evicted. Cedric is the new HOH.
NJPW was excellent last night.
i didn't get home in time this morning to see the USA men's soccer team lose to Morocco, 4-0, at the Olympics. i was hoping they would get a chance to move on, but oh well. at least they made it out of the group stage.
enjoy some music:

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
the more i think of it, the more i have come to the conclusion that i am not of this earth. if asking for competence is too much for this world, i seriously need to just become a hermit and never leave the home again.
so, last week i was on Kroger's website and started the process of transferring my prescriptions from the Rite Aid in Brookville to Kroger. i called today to see what was up because none of my prescriptions were showing up at the Kroger website. the guy i was speaking to in the pharmacy told me that no transfers can be done on the website, you have to talk to a person to do that. so, instead of going the fuck off on him and asking why the fuck there is an option for it on the website if it doesn't fucking work, i told him i needed my prescriptions moved over since the Rite Aid in Brookville will be closing. mind you, i run out of Gabapentin by tomorrow. so yeah, i'm not fucking happy.
i popped in a weed gummy this afternoon and it started to hail. i could hear it banging on the roof. just great.
the Yankees pissed away a great comeback victory yesterday at Baltimore, losing 6-5. they are 1 game behind Baltimore in the AL East standings at the All Star break.
Euro 2024 yesterday was good. Spain defeated England, 2-1.
the Copa America was nuts last night. kickoff was delayed over 2 hours because the stadium wasn't expecting a ton of people with no tickets to actually try to get into the building. i suppose no one in America actually knows or dares to understand what happens at these events in South America. as for the game, Argentina defeated Colombia, 1-0 in extra time.
i did get to the bank today before the storms hit. i also went to Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. no luck at that one today.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Name That Tune and WWE Monday Night Raw.
a big thank you to everyone that has checked out my latest published poems:
i woke up this morning and it was 62 degrees outside. well shit, i turned off the air conditioning and opened some windows. lord knows, this will probably be the only day in July i will be able to do this.
the Yankees won yesterday at Toronto, 8-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at home against the Reds.
i did watch the Euro 2024 games yesterday. England won 2-1 in extra time over Slovakia. Spain won 4-1 over Georgia. today France is playing Belgium (currently 0-0) and Portugal plays Slovenia.
the Copa America games last night were good. Venezuela defeated Jamaica 3-0. Mexico and Ecuador played a 0-0 draw. that means Venezuela won the group and will take on Canada. Ecuador finished second and they will take on Argentina next. tonight, the USMNT takes on Uruguay and Panama plays Bolivia.
the season finale of The Chi was excellent last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was good last night. the mid-season finale is next week.

we're under an excess heat warning all week. joy. and of course, it would be this week, when both mom and i have doctor's appointments and she has two physical therapy appointments.
the New York Yankees lost last night at Boston, 9-3. sadly, it looks like the Yankees can whip every other team in the league, but struggle against their own division. hopefully, that starts being different soon since they start a series at home against Baltimore tomorrow night.
i did watch some of the Euro 2024 yesterday.
Power Book II: Ghost was good last night.
The Chi was excellent last night.

mom does have physical therapy this afternoon. hopefully, i will get some poems written there.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
of course, it had to be raining today since i had things to do. but, the beauty of being stubborn is sometimes you can block everything out; pain, common sense, whatever... i did make it to the bank this afternoon to make a deposit. after that, i went to Meijer, which is just down the road a bit from where i bank. i found just about everything i was looking for and kept it under $50. it was raining all the way home. what i hate about living in Brookville is when it does rain, no one goes the speed limit. the absolute joy i have going 35 in a 50 and 100% of the time, it is an elderly person that shouldn't be behind the wheel at all anymore. fuck me.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
NJPW was excellent last night.
