i tried sleeping in my bed last night. that went well for two hours. for some fucking reason, i was wide awake at 3 AM. by 4:45, i said fuck it and i went to my massage chair and got some ice on my back. i at least got another 2 hours in the chair. i got mom up at 7:25 as she had a morning appointment with a dermatologist. she has a couple places on her face that she had questions about. of course, they are both pre-cancerous. good times. mom put some Biofreeze on my back before we went. thankfully, that worked well enough that my back didn't act up on me while we were there. after that appointment, i went to the bank. i love that you have to show your ID when depositing a roll of pennies. fuck me. by the time we got home, it was sort of rainy and i basically took a nice long nap.
Big Brother was good last night. Lisa was evicted. Cedric is the new HOH.
NJPW was excellent last night.
i didn't get home in time this morning to see the USA men's soccer team lose to Morocco, 4-0, at the Olympics. i was hoping they would get a chance to move on, but oh well. at least they made it out of the group stage.

Ohio State has a huge game today at home against Michigan State. hopefully, the boys won't be looking ahead to their game next week up north.

Manchester United plays this morning at Watford. i'm really hoping United starts off this run of games with a victory.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Calgary, 5-1. one of those nights where you just shake your head and say fuck it. you can't win them all.

so, my aunt (and next door neighbor) died last night. it wasn't a surprise for any of us as her health had really gotten bad the last few weeks. the surprise was she had decided years ago to be cremated and never told anyone. that gave me a little laugh today. thanks for the laughs Ethel, at least you lived long enough to watch Trump lose.
my doctor visit went well today. my A1C was down. my weight was down. my blood pressure was perfect. best part, i think i was there for less than 30 minutes.
so, when i got out to the Highlander, i saw that Manchester United was up 1-0 against AC Milan in the Europa League. of course, by the time i got home, the final score was 1-1 as AC Milan scored the crucial away goal in the 92nd minute. fuck me.
the Yankees won today over the Phillies, 6-1. they defeated the Pirates last night, 6-5.

to top off everything today, it's fucking raining. these are the days i recall a dream i had as a teenager about living with a morphine drip permanently attached at all times.
i did a little baseball card shopping in the last 24 hours, all online. i have some shit coming from Walk Off Wax, Repacked Wax and Topps.com. hopefully, i'll get some really good cards in those. i know the card i am getting from Topps.com. i couldn't resist a Don Mattingly card designed by Action Bronson. it is part of the Topps Project70. my Walk Off Wax order has already shipped. i also got some football cards with the order from Repacked Wax.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i don't think i have any appointments to take mom to, so hopefully it will be a quiet Friday where nobody dies.

the Dayton Flyers defeated George Mason yesterday, 74-65. Jalen Crutcher got his career high yesterday in points. amazingly, Dayton had another player out because of injury, Rodney Chatman. thankfully, Mustapha Amzil looks like he is the real deal. he and Crutcher had about half of Dayton's points yesterday. they next play at Fordham, virus permitting.
the USA defeated Slovakia 5-2 last night at the World Juniors. the semi-finals are now set. Canada will play Russia and the USA will play Finland on Monday night.
ROH was very good last night.

i ordered some coffee today from Youngstown Coffee Co. since my mother loves Highlander Grogg, i'm always looking for different versions of it.

it's been rainy, windy and chilly today, so i actually feel like fall is fucking here. of course, when it's windy enough that as soon as you open your garage door, the door to your house that you just shut opens up, you know crazy is the word of the day.
i did make it to the bank today and deposited my check before the rain hit. thankfully, i got back home before it really started to storm.
the Yankees won the longest 9 inning game in major league history last night (4 hours, 50 minutes, which doesn't include 2 fucking rain delays) defeating Cleveland, 10-9. the game finished a little after 1 in the morning. both teams blew leads all night long. the Yankees scored two in the top of the 9th to finally get ahead and win. with the victory, they will play Tampa on Monday out in San Diego in the ALDS. i love a baseball series that is based on pure fucking hatred. it's going to be fun.
Big Brother was good last night. tonight is a triple eviction. i think Kevin will go first and i'm hoping for fucking chaos after that.
NXT was pretty good last night. i'm really looking forward to Takeover 31 this Sunday.
AEW was excellent last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy last night.
I Can See Your Voice was great last night. i love a game show where a person can risk it all and lose and leave with nothing.
Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports was really good last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA last night:
the New York Rangers made it official yesterday and bought out the last year of the contract of The King. as a fan, i'm crushed, as he will always be one of my favorite Rangers ever. but, if i take my emotions out of it, this move made the most sense. it gives them a ton of cap space for this season and takes away any mystery on the goalie position. Henrik Lundqvist will always be one the classiest people to ever wear that jersey and i can't wait for the day his number goes to the rafters at MSG.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Desus & Mero. i watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was very good.
i'm not sure if mom wants to watch her Jets play the Broncos tonight. i know i certainly don't want to.
i will be on here tomorrow after i pick up my pills at the pharmacy. i may do a quick search for some baseball cards, but i'm not expecting much luck.
thanks again to everyone that checked out my poems published earlier today. i do appreciate it.
i popped out of bed at 6:30 this morning, wide fucking awake after 4 1/2 hours of sleep. i looked outside and saw it had rained. of course. arthritis was going to make sure it was going to win the day.
i just put my last load of laundry in the washer. i'm running on fumes. good times.
i got my pills this morning at the grocery store. after that, i went to Meijer to look for some baseball cards. i didn't find much of those, but i did get 2 packs of football and hockey cards. and if i can get what i want for the two Patrick Mahomes cards i got today, i'll make back everything i spent on the cards i got.
AEW last night was pretty good.
Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Kaysar will be evicted tonight.
Cari & Jemele Stick to Sports was excellent last night.
the Yankees lost to Tampa last night, 5-2. hell, it was 4-0 before the Yankees got a damn out in the first inning. the Yankees play a makeup game with the Mets this afternoon before they play another damn doubleheader in Baltimore tomorrow.

my sister did make it down here. she's going to be here a few hours i think.
Smackdown last night was pretty interesting. i give the WWE credit for doing the show at the performance center with no fans and still making it entertaining.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.
The Trade was very interesting last night.
High Maintenance was excellent last night.

these gloomy days don't agree with me. now, the poet in me doesn't mind it, plenty of shit to write about there. but the rest of me, fuck, i need some sunshine, something bright to lift my spirits. i guess that's where the alcohol comes into play. probably the reason why i only drink after success. if i drank because of failure, i'd be dead.
Manchester United won today over Manchester City, 1-0. but, since they lost the first leg of this semifinal at Old Trafford 3-1, they end up losing 3-2 on aggregate. oh well, i'll take the positives from the game today. a clean sheet, a victory on the road and the club announced they have signed Bruno Fernandes.
WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

i'm not sure what to call this head space i find myself in. it's not a depression, it's not an apathy fueled self destructive phase, it's not even the blahs... i suppose it's like a transcendental crisis of some nature, the thought that death would cure something that doesn't exist per se, while fully knowing the pain is riding all of you into this void, creeping closer to whatever addictive nature inside of you exists. my blood sugar numbers always go up when i don't drink. so, to be a better diabetic, i need to be an alcoholic. talk about a catch 22. add in my mother's passive aggressive nature and my intolerance for such bullshit, and you have a lovely combination for a weekend to explode. mind you, i don't have the energy anymore.
i think i turned off the Yankees game last night in the middle of the bottom of the first inning. i would check the score every now and then, but it never got any better. the Yankees lost to the Red Sox again, 10-5. hopefully, they will flip the script this afternoon, but i'm not counting on it.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Shangri-La was really good last night. next week is the finale.
