so long to a legend...

so, this blog was going to be about the heat today, blah blah blah, and then i got the news that one of my favorite wrestlers of all time had died. Terry Funk was one of the few guys i remember seeing back in the late 70's when i was really young. to see him in ECW 20 years later wrestling with barbwire and baseball bats on fire was a fucking mindfuck to say the least. he was the constant entertainer and a way better wrestler than anyone ever gave him credit for. thanks for all the memories, rest in peace.

the Yankees lost last night at home to the Nationals, 2-1.

NXT was very good last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

so, i think i finally found the perfect woman for me. now, it is just a matter of convincing her that she is the one and how the fuck can we erase these miles between us. but, this might be the fire that actually lets me live past the age of 50. so, that's some pretty amazing news for today.

i remember why i stopped grocery shopping on Fridays...

i had to go out today and get some pills for mom at the drugstore, pick up my own meds at the grocery store, and then i figured, since i'm out, fuck it, let's find a new hummingbird feeder.

the drugstore wasn't too bad. the grocery store was a fucking zoo. and i went to Meijer to find the hummingbird feeder. thankfully, they still had the one i wanted and it was on sale. i got some things for mom for her birthday (in June) and i got myself some baseball cards. i got a couple nice Mike Trout cards in the packs i got that i'm pretty happy about.

i got home and fed the birds, put out the new feeder and this purple butterfly solar light i got for mom. as i told my mother, the grocery store and Meijer were fucking crazy. i know a holiday weekend is here and everyone is fucking stir crazy, but shit.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NXT UK was pretty good last night. it was 3 of the best women's matches over the last few years.

Total Bellas was good last night.

Holey Moley was fucking hilarious last night.

Celebrity Escape Room was pretty funny last night.

No Mercy No Malice with Professor Scott Galloway was excellent last night. if i had more teachers like that in my life, i might have actually went to college.

Shelter in Place with Shane Smith was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

happy hope the candy doesn't rot your teeth day...

as many of you know by now, i'm not a big believer of religion or organized religion. it was forced upon me as a child. i was baptized so my grandmother would see it before she died. i have always thought that since it was done on April Fool's Day, there could be no other parallel to describe my relationship with god. that being said, i don't fault anyone who believes. it's a matter of choice. i just happen to believe in choice, while so many Christians do not, no matter what bullshit they tell themselves. and i will have a slight smile when i hear about all the new cases of COVID-19 because some stubborn fucking fools decided they needed to be in a church on Easter Sunday.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

of all the characters to die...

i knew going into the season finale of Homeland last night, someone from the main cast was going to die. that was just how the show was going this season. the fact that it was Peter Quinn was a bit shocking. he's one of the characters i have truly loved over all the seasons of the show. at least he went out like i'm sure he wanted to... gunfire galore. overall, it was a pretty damn good finale. next season should be fascinating.

Girls was very good last night. the series finale next week should be very interesting.

the season finale of Crashing last night was hilarious. i have no clue if there will be a season 2, but i did enjoy all the comedians on season 1.

Last Week Tonight was fucking great as always last night.

Billions was really good last night. i can't wait to see how the final scene will set up the rest of the season.

Feud: Bette and Joan was excellent once again last night.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 7-3, avoiding the sweep in Baltimore. that should help them be in a better mood for the home opener today against Tampa.

the New York Rangers won their final regular season game last night against Pittsburgh 3-2. hopefully they will be ready for a long playoff run when they play up in Montreal on Wednesday.

i was very happy that i got to have 3 victory drinks yesterday. 2 rum and cokes and 1 wild turkey and coke. and amazingly, my blood sugar wasn't through the roof when i took it this morning. so, maybe i have figured out how to drink while having type 2 diabetes.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and A Goodbye to Girls. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

the weather is finally starting to feel like spring now. i'm sure the birds enjoyed that it was nice enough that i actually filled all the bird feeders yesterday.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow, although i'm hoping to be slightly drunk when i am.

bring on the weak end

if the pain in my bones is correct, it will be raining here in a few hours. in a perfect world, i'll be home from the grocery store before it starts. in reality, it will probably be raining as i'm putting the groceries into the car. good times.

last night was a pretty fucking funny one. i laughed so damn hard i nearly pissed my pants and passed out, at the same time. you talk about talent. the first thing that made me howl was this from Lip Sync Battle:

Big Brother went as i thought it would. it should be an interesting week with one of the twins as HOH. Married was hilarious last night. and i think i'm really going to enjoy Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. that show made me really laugh. and to have Robert Kelly on drums makes me laugh even harder.

then came The Tonight Show. as i told my mother this morning, this completely reminded me of Carson in the 70's:
i haven't laughed that fucking hard in a long time.

now enjoy a long musical break my friends:
i had a fan send me this next song a long time ago. i still think of her even though we have long since lost touch. so, wherever you are Kelly, i do hope you are well.

the baseball season starts back up tonight. the New York Yankees will be at home playing Seattle. hopefully the boys can get on a nice winning streak to start the second half.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters.

and then late tonight, Manchester United takes on Club America in Seattle, Washington. i'm really interested to see how all the new players look. plus, i never turn down a chance to have a victory beer.

i feel like today is going to be a good one. it's always nice to wake up to poems being accepted. and then i found some new FREE music from Wilco and Third Eye Blind.

and since those names should have taken you back, welcome to Flashback Friday. today, let's revisit one of my favorite poems i have ever written. and sadly, it's a true story:
http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue117socialanxiety.html

i smile when anyone says i make this shit up. god, i really wish that was the case. but, sadly, all the "good" poems comes from experience. and i get those published a hell of a lot more often than when i just sit back and let my imagination take over. now i like the imagination ones better, mostly because they didn't involve me going through any fucking pain to make them.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i will be back on here sometime before the USA plays Cuba tomorrow in the Gold Cup.

the weather is supposed to be really hot and sticky this weekend. just perfect weather for fat people like me.

enjoy that visual.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
