the powers that be hate me...

so, i was sitting there in the dermatologist's office, waiting for my mother to get called in, when this stunning blonde walked in. and when i mean stunning, i'm talking holy shit beautiful. and i caught myself looking for a ring, which amazingly she didn't have. of course, mom's name got called a few minutes later. and just my luck, the stunning blonde wasn't still in the waiting room when we were leaving. i'm sure it doesn't help matters that i'm rarely in public anymore unless i'm taking mom to an appointment or doing the grocery shopping. it's a recipe to ensure loneliness that's for sure.

i sent out 15 poems last night, 5 each to Easy Street and Live Nude Poems; 2 to Tuck Magazine (already accepted for publication) and 3 poems to Mad Swirl. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Rangers will be facing the Ottawa Senators in the next round of the playoffs. i guess we'll see firsthand who won the trade from the off-season. it should be another tough one, but since the Rangers have the better goalie, i'll go with them.

the other matchups in the playoffs are Pittsburgh vs. Washington, Nashville vs. St. Louis and Edmonton vs. Anaheim. there was 18 OT games in the first round. i wouldn't be surprised if they get close to that number again in the second round. the Rangers series starts on Thursday.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 2-1. a former pitcher for the team shut them down for most of the game. the Yankees had a chance to win the game late. they never could get a big hit though. shit happens. they start a series in Boston tomorrow night.

Silicon Valley was fucking hilarious last night.

Veep was excellent once again last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious last night.

Guerrilla was really good last night. for me, Rory Kinnear is the one stealing the show.

Billions was excellent last night. i especially loved the ending. it's what always drew me to the show to begin with, sexual deviancy.

the finale of Feud: Bette and Joan last night was great. the acting that Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange did on this show was amazing.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Gotham. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

El Clasico yesterday was just that, a classic. the game between Real Madrid and Barcelona had everything you could want in a game. goals, violence, controversy, and a winning goal at the death. such an amazing game.

i just realized that Mother's Day is coming up soon. i guess i better figure out what to get her.

i hope everyone had a great Sunday.

one of those days where i wish i could sleep it all away

you know, the kind of day where you would love to just find a good recliner and take a nap that lasts all afternoon and a good portion of the evening. instead, i've spent most of the day doing dishes and laundry, wondering when my mother is going to realize getting a dishwasher isn't one of those outlandish thoughts for 2017.

Easter dinner yesterday went pretty well. i think my sister and i have matured enough to this point where we realize nothing truly can be gained from fighting with each other.

the New York Rangers played like shit yesterday. they didn't even bother to fake having a pulse until 57 minutes into the game. it's way too fucking late by then. Montreal won 3-1. if The King wouldn't have been excellent again yesterday, it would have been 6, 7 or 8 to 1. truly a fucking joke. Game 4 is on Tuesday. if the Rangers play like that again, this series is more or less over.
when that's the only highlight from the game for the Rangers, you know it was a truly shitty game.

thankfully, the New York Yankees continued their roll last night. Greg Bird finally broke out of his slump and the pitching was excellent once again. they beat St. Louis 9-3 for their second straight sweep. they start a series with the Chicago White Sox tonight. hopefully they can keep the winning streak going.

the series finale of Girls was about what i expected. the one thing i truly enjoyed about the show was how good it was at showing that some parts of life are just fucking mundane. there is no glamour or joy in them. and showing Hannah's frustration with being a new mother was a nice realistic example of what 99.9% of mothers go through. i never cared for shows that sugarcoat reality to a degree that is nothing more than fantasy.

Veep was fucking great last night. i absolutely love the pace of the comedy in the show.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always last night. hopefully the people of France were watching.

Guerrilla was very interesting last night. 1971 London is a little before my time, so i was pretty interested in the show. after watching the first episode, i'm in for all 6 episodes now.

Billions was excellent last night. next week's episode certainly looks even more interesting.

Feud: Bette and Joan was great once again. next week is the finale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i will be watching Monday Night Raw and some playoff hockey for most of the night.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm not really sure of my mother's schedule for this week. plus, i'd love to get one more marathon writing session in.

the joys of an unexpected victory...

when i saw that Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn't starting today for Manchester United, i figured they decided they couldn't win against Chelsea, so save him for the Europa League. boy, was i wrong. United easily played their best game of the season today, blanking the league leaders 2-0. that's United's first win over Chelsea since Sir Alex was coaching the team. even better, it was the first game that Chelsea didn't have a shot on goal in a decade. it was a pure fucking joy to watch. this will be one of the sweetest victory drinks in years. hats off to Ander Herrera today, one for his goal and two for putting Eden Hazard in his pocket and never letting him out. brilliant.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night, at least what i got to see. for some fucking reason, our local NBC station ran extra commercials and didn't even bother showing the last 10 minutes of the show.

ROH was excellent last night as well.

i watched a good amount of UFC last night. i was not disappointed.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from CC yesterday and held on for a 3-2 victory. that's 6 in a row. they will go for another sweep tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the series finale of Girls, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Guerrilla, Billions and Feud: Bette and Joan.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 of their series against Montreal tonight at home. i'm really hoping the boys don't squander any more chances to take control of this series.

my sister is next door playing with all the children. i believe they had an Easter egg hunt as well. at least they got that in before the rain comes this afternoon.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. i'll post the links below in the music section.

of all the characters to die...

i knew going into the season finale of Homeland last night, someone from the main cast was going to die. that was just how the show was going this season. the fact that it was Peter Quinn was a bit shocking. he's one of the characters i have truly loved over all the seasons of the show. at least he went out like i'm sure he wanted to... gunfire galore. overall, it was a pretty damn good finale. next season should be fascinating.

Girls was very good last night. the series finale next week should be very interesting.

the season finale of Crashing last night was hilarious. i have no clue if there will be a season 2, but i did enjoy all the comedians on season 1.

Last Week Tonight was fucking great as always last night.

Billions was really good last night. i can't wait to see how the final scene will set up the rest of the season.

Feud: Bette and Joan was excellent once again last night.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 7-3, avoiding the sweep in Baltimore. that should help them be in a better mood for the home opener today against Tampa.

the New York Rangers won their final regular season game last night against Pittsburgh 3-2. hopefully they will be ready for a long playoff run when they play up in Montreal on Wednesday.

i was very happy that i got to have 3 victory drinks yesterday. 2 rum and cokes and 1 wild turkey and coke. and amazingly, my blood sugar wasn't through the roof when i took it this morning. so, maybe i have figured out how to drink while having type 2 diabetes.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and A Goodbye to Girls. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

the weather is finally starting to feel like spring now. i'm sure the birds enjoyed that it was nice enough that i actually filled all the bird feeders yesterday.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow, although i'm hoping to be slightly drunk when i am.

well, will you look at this...

i got up this morning after yet another night of spotty sleep. when i noticed that Manchester United's regular keeper was injured, i was thinking oh fuck, here we go again. not that i doubt his backup at all, it's just when the snowball starts rolling downhill... and then i saw Fellaini was the captain today. what fucking bizarre world did i wake up to? thankfully, United took care of business today and beat Sunderland 3-0. i was really happy to see Rashford score today. he's been due for a long time. next up is a game in Belgium in the Europa League on Thursday.

the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-1 lead yesterday and lost 5-4. on top of that, Gary Sanchez strained his bicep on his throwing arm and is now on the disabled list. hopefully they will avoid the sweep today. i doubt it though. the home opener tomorrow should be really interesting.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 3-1. they play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. i'm not sure who will be getting rested tonight. apparently the coach believes they will just flip the switch on when the playoffs start. joy.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

ROH was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Girls, Crashing, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Feud: Bette and Joan.

i wrote 8 more poems last night, including a pretty long one (for me at least). i definitely have a nice batch of new ones to pick from now. i'd like to get one more writing session in before my next round of submissions.

my sister went back home earlier today. i had her take a picture of mom's leg, mostly so she would actually see with her own eyes that the surgery didn't get pushed back just for shits and giggles. hopefully that does the trick.

today is somewhat bittersweet for me. with the NHL regular season ending today, it will also be the end of fantasy sports for me. i've realized it's just not any fun anymore for me, and i'm too old to be wasting time on shit i don't enjoy.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

oh what a night

WrestleMania this year was an assault on the senses. for someone who loves pro wrestling, it was like having too much birthday cake. 7 damn hours and my emotions went from so damn high to so damn low. not all the matches were great, but none of them were truly dog shit either. i did love Kevin Owens winning over Chris Jericho and the Hardy Boyz coming back to win the Raw tag team titles in the ladder match. that moment was too fucking amazing. as soon as their music hit, i was a child again. when i saw that Jim Ross was coming back to call The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns, i pretty much knew that this was going to be Taker's last match. and when i saw his wife behind the announce table, i knew it was going to be the end. on top of all that, you had it's all about me John Cena proposing to Nikki Bella. i would have loved to seen her say no and slap him. that would have made for great television. all in all, definitely a show that will be remembered forever.

the New York Rangers ended their long ass home losing streak last night, defeating Philadelphia 4-3. of course they would win on a night i wasn't watching.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 7-3. that's the 6th straight opening day the Yankees have lost. it's pretty simple for them this year. if they get the pitching, they will compete. if they don't, it's going to be a long fucking year.

Big Little Lies had one of the best series finales i think i have ever seen last night. it was spectacular and tied so much up. when Jane had that look on her face, i nearly shit myself when i figured it all out before they showed it on screen. such a wonderful series.

Girls was pretty damn good last night.

Crashing was very funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as always.

Homeland was great last night. the season finale next week should be great.

Billions was really good last night.

Feud: Bette and Joan was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the men's college basketball championship is tonight. Gonzaga vs. North Carolina. i've got North Carolina winning, so that probably means they won't.

i had to take mom to the cardiologist today. talk about a fucking waste of time. everything with her heart is fine. this was simply her regular doctor covering his ass for her surgery. she still doesn't know when that is going to happen. she's hoping she can get another shot for her back before it does.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays.

a day where the child in me gets to smile

now, i am not as big of a baseball fan as i was when i was a child. today being opening day was a big fucking deal in my youth. now, it's more of... oh yeah, there's a baseball game on. i do love that the New York Yankees have gone with a youth movement. i will check them out just to see how the kids are doing. and who knows, if they actually get some pitching, they might even win.

the other thing today that makes the child in me get excited is WrestleMania. this will be the 33rd straight one i will watch. knowing that a friend will be involved in the pre-show is cool. and knowing that this is the one show every year that doesn't disappoint me... i am excited for it.

now, they will have their work cut out for them as NXT Takeover: Orlando last night was amazing. the triple threat tag team elimination match is an early candidate for match of the year in all of pro wrestling. it was an instant classic. and i do have to think that Nakamura losing to Bobby Roode again means that Shinsuke is being called up either on Monday or Tuesday. i will mark out like a fucking kid when that happens.

ROH last night was really good.

the Final Four games yesterday were really good as well. i was happy to finally see some close games on a big stage. the final game will be Gonzaga vs. North Carolina on Monday. they were both teams i thought could win it all before the tournament started. so, at least i got something fucking right in this tournament.

enjoy some music:

hello stress, my name is...

i will fully admit i am one stubborn motherfucker. and i'm old enough to know there is no fucking point to having an argument with someone who can't remember shit for anything. so, of course it was my fault that my mom told me the wrong days for her upcoming appointments. my instinct is to do exactly what my father used to do... argue to win and always get the last fucking word. that pretty much sums up why i'm still single at 41.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Anaheim 6-3. i think they still need 2 points to clinch a damn playoff spot. The King looked a little rusty but i am fully confident he'll shake that off before the playoffs begin. they play again tomorrow night in San Jose.

Big Little Lies was excellent last night. the finale next week should be amazing.

Girls last night was really good.

Crashing was pretty damn funny last night.

Homeland was really fucking good last night.

Billions was awesome last night. the ending was damn near perfect.

Feud: Bette and Joan was great last night as well.

i did watch the Archie Miller press conference today. i suppose it's closure. i have no doubt he'll do a great job at Indiana. i'm now more focused on who the fuck is Dayton going to hire to replace him.

my bones are starting to ache, so i'm guessing it's going to rain tonight.

i have no clue what time i'll be on here tomorrow as i have someplace to drive mom everyday the rest of this week.

imagine that, more rain...

when i fell asleep last night around 3, my bones felt like the rain was near. i did get a few hours of sleep but i must have slept on my neck wrong. that felt like shit this morning. of course, the rain didn't help matters. i mixed a little vodka with ginger ale last night as my victory drink. i've stopped drinking orange juice, so i believe i have found a new drink for my vodka.

i was very happy Gonzaga beat the shit out of Xavier last night. and i was absolutely stunned how Oregon was able to slow down Kansas. yet another choke job from Bill Self in the Elite 8.

the college basketball games today are Florida vs. South Carolina and North Carolina vs. Kentucky.

the New York Rangers won last night in Los Angeles over the Kings 3-0. yet another road victory for the boys, their 27th on the season. they play again tonight in Anaheim against the Ducks. The King makes his return to the net tonight. hopefully he plays well and stays healthy the rest of the season.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

the cleaning crew was here almost 6 damn hours yesterday. one of the women was just trashy enough to make a few good poems in the future i suppose. they did a really good job getting to all the shit mom and i can't get to anymore. the way my arthritis is i think if i got down on the floor to clean underneath something i may never get back up off that floor. good times.

i will hopefully do some writing today as the brain is getting backed up. it's raining outside, so there's a good reason to stay on task.

woke up to the sound of thunder

when i was finally getting to sleep last night around 2:30, i was hoping for a good 6 hours and all would be well with the world. i woke up to the sound of thunder and hail. i looked at the clock and it said 4:45. fuck me. after 20 minutes of convincing myself the pain felt good, i fell back asleep. i got up for good around 8 in the morning. i suppose that's the good thing about being crazy... the interesting conversations.

i just put my last load of laundry in the dryer. nothing like doubling down on the pain by doing laundry the same day as a couple inches of rain. fuck you arthritis...

with Duke losing yesterday, my main bracket for March Madness is basically dead. good times.

Big Little Lies was amazing last night.

Girls was solid once again last night.

Crashing was very funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as always. if you watched the episode you know what to do with this video:

always good to wake up early and win...

when i saw Manchester United's lineup this morning, i had no idea what to think. but, after a 3-1 victory and moving up to 5th place in the league, i am a very happy boy.

the New York Rangers won last night in Minnesota 3-2. that was their 26th road victory this season. hopefully they can still win on the road in the playoffs. that might be their only hope to win it all this season. the boys next play at New Jersey on Tuesday.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Little Lies, Girls, Crashing, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Feud: Bette and Joan.

i wrote 5 poems last night and typed them up this afternoon. i think they are pretty good. i'm going to try to get another round of submissions ready to go before mom has her hip replaced. i have no clue how much time i'm going to have to even write after her surgery.

i'll probably watch some college basketball today but not as much as i would have if Dayton would still be playing.

my sister seems to be really enjoying her new job.

i spent a good portion of last night listening to old Chuck Berry songs. back in my youth when i thought i was going to be a guitar god, i would listen to those songs for hours on end. rest in peace you dirty old man. you will always be remembered.

you take the good with the bad...

i'm the kind of asshole that always starts with the bad news.

i knew Manchester United was up against it today given injuries and a suspension. then, i saw who the fuck was the referee today. Michael Oliver. i told my mom right before the game started, i guarantee that fucker will fuck over United somehow. sure enough. he sent Ander Herrera off in the first half for his second yellow card. honestly, i don't think either foul should have been given a card. but, it was against Eden Hazard, so lord knows he had to be carded. of course, Chelsea scored in the second half against a 10 man United and won the game 1-0. so, that ends Manchester United's run as FA Cup champions. and now Herrera will get a 2 game suspension for the red card. makes me wish for the days when bad officiating had to fear for their lives. oh well.

so, now the good news.

the Dayton Flyers got a 7 seed for the NCAA tournament. i was completely fucking shocked. i was expecting maybe at best a 9 seed. of course, their reward for that 7 seed is playing against a Wichita State team that should be a 5 or 6 seed. Dayton is already a 6 point underdog for the game. at least it's being played in Indianapolis. there should be plenty of Dayton fans there. luckily, the game is at night, so i'll actually get to watch it. that Friday is the day i have to go with mom for the surgery class and all her pre-operation testing. oh joy.

the New York Rangers won at Detroit last night, 4-1. that was a good way to finish off the road trip. they are back at home tonight to face Tampa Bay.

i missed being in the top 4 of my fantasy hockey playoffs by a 1 1/2 games. talk about being fucking pissed. if i would have been in the other division, i would have won the division by almost 20 games. fuck.

Big Little Lies was excellent last night.

Girls was great once again.

Crashing was really funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant once again.

Homeland was amazing last night. yet another holy shit ending.

Billions was pretty good last night.

Feud: Bette and Joan was fucking great last night.

the grocery store was exactly as i expected yesterday. it was like the end of the world was approaching. i was amazed i was able to find what was on the fucking list.

selection Sunday

from what i've been reading, the "experts" believe the Dayton Flyers will be anywhere from a 8 to an 11 seed. i wouldn't mind them being on the 10 line, as that would move them away from a potential game against a #1 seed if they somehow manage to actually win their first game this year. honestly, i'm just really hoping they get selected. Dayton has never gone 4 years in a row and i would love to finally scratch that off the fucking list. plus, that's a nice big carrot for the freshman next year.

i did do a little writing last night. i wrote 5 poems, one of which i really, really liked. i'm hoping that one gets published as i already have a Soundcloud recording ready for it.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

i ended up watching more UFC than college basketball last night. i'm happy that there wasn't many upsets. that should help Dayton's cause.

Jerrod Carmichael: 8 was absolutely BRILLIANT last night. one hour of some of the best comedy i have seen in a long time.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Detroit. i will probably watch some of the game while i'm filling out my NCAA brackets. hopefully Antti Raanta is ready to lead the team to the playoffs while The King is out with an injury.

i have to go to the grocery store today. mom has pills that need to be picked up and i have over $80 worth of pills that need to be picked up. plus, i might as well do the grocery shopping just in case some snow does hit here. and since i'll be going to 4 basketball games over Tuesday and Wednesday... i guess i'll just get it done today.

i will be on here tomorrow most likely after Manchester United takes on Chelsea in the FA Cup. i'm hoping but not counting on a victory for United. there's a reason Chelsea has been on top of the league for most of the season. but, it would be a good day for a miracle.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday and enjoyed that hour of sleep you lost. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

just another rainy Monday...

if i ever happen to end up with some fuck you money before i die, i'm definitely going to live someplace where it rarely fucking rains. either that or have enough money that i can be cured of having arthritis. i know, what's the point of dreaming anymore...

the first half of WWE Fastlane last night nearly put me to sleep. thankfully, the match between Neville and Jack Gallagher was fucking amazing and turned the show around for me. when it got time for the main event and there was only a couple minutes left before 11, i knew Goldberg was going to beat Kevin Owens. i just wanted them to be creative with it. having Chris Jericho come out will definitely set up the match that will steal the show at WrestleMania... Jericho vs. Owens. plus, now the match between Goldberg and Lesnar will be for the Universal title. things should become pretty evident tonight on Monday Night Raw.

Big Little Lies was excellent last night. i love the slow burn of the show so far.

Girls was pretty good once again last night. nice shocking ending as well.

Crashing was pretty funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was excellent last night.

Homeland was fucking amazing last night. when i put two and two together, i wasn't surprised.

Billions was also very good last night.

Feud: Bette & Joan was excellent last night. i think i'm really going to enjoy this show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Tampa. it would be nice to see them get back to winning.

i saw that Manchester United's season just hit a tough fucking road bump...
a 3 game ban could either be what keeps them out of winning the FA Cup and finishing in the top 4 or maybe just brings the team closer together. or perhaps i'm just fucking dreaming that something good could come from this at all.

i got some FREE music from a local band on NoiseTrade today. you can find it by going here:

i hope everyone had a great weekend.
