turkey week...

so the next few days are going to be tricky... mom has a doctor's appointment the day before Thanksgiving. that means i am doing the grocery shopping tomorrow instead of Wednesday. thankfully, i don't think we need much from the store. hell, most of the money is going to pills this week. add in that the Dayton Flyers are playing in Hawaii and i highly doubt i am going to get much sleep for the next few days.

so, Manchester United got a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town yesterday. United scored 80 seconds into the game, so i was really hoping that was a sign of things to come. of course, it wasn't. what i did love was the new coach basically said exactly what was wrong after the game. the players thought too much out there and they were scared. that alone makes me think they hired the right guy finally.

i did watch plenty of NFL games yesterday.

Somebody Somewhere was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Monday Night Raw and What We Do in the Shadows.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against St. Louis. hopefully, the Rangers will end their losing streak tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play North Carolina in Maui tonight. the game starts at 11:30 PM. Dayton is a (at least when i put money on them) 7.5 point underdog.

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Chargers and Ravens.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

if only the game ended 30 seconds sooner...

i almost got up on time this morning. i saw the clock at 7 AM. i decided to stay in bed as Manchester United hasn't won at Chelsea in years. i started watching the game in the second half. i was really, really happy when Anthony Martial scored his second goal of the game to put United up 2-1. of course, Chelsea scored in the 96th minute to end the game in a 2-2 draw. United was 30 seconds away from their first win at Chelsea in 6 years. now, do i take the positive that United got a point out of the game or do i dwell on the fact that United came oh so fucking close to a huge victory. fuck, i know me. i'll have a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the day.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was the anniversary special last night. it was really good.

Pod Save America was excellent last night.

i did watch some NBA last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.

Ohio State plays tonight at Purdue. i am pretty worried about this game. it has trap game written all over it.

mom wants to go out shopping today. after i get this done, i think we're going. she wants some Halloween decorations i guess. i'm not sure why she didn't look at Dollar Tree when we were there this past Monday. oh well.

i know there is a Game 7 tonight between the Dodgers and Brewers. i will probably watch some of that tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime before the Saints play at the Ravens tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

feeling poetic

i wanted to get to bed early last night as i really wanted to get some decent sleep before i had to drive mom to her physical therapy today. but of course, instead of going to sleep early, my brain was occupied on writing a poem. i got that done and went to sleep. while sitting in the waiting room today, i wrote 11 more poems. i typed up all 12 this afternoon and actually like a few of them. i should have enough now for another round of submissions before this month is over. and if i get a wild hair up my ass, i'll do that before my birthday in 4 days.

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Philadelphia, 5-1. it would be nice if that team shows up for the rest of the season. they play again on Thursday at home against Buffalo.

Smackdown was good last night. i was a little surprised they spent most of the night on the US Championship tournament. i do like Bobby Roode as the new champion though.

205 Live was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Total Divas and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at St. Joe's. they haven't won there in almost 18 years. hopefully, tonight is the night they can end that streak.

hopefully it's going to get a little warmer as we get closer to my birthday. this shit of the single digits for most of the day fucking sucks.

mom and i did go out to eat after her physical therapy today. she told me to think of it as my birthday meal. i would have if i would have been drinking. but, since i'm the only driver in the house now, those days are gone forever. well, at least until she dies.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.

and the youth shall lead them...

when the New York Yankees were down 4-0 yesterday, i was not happy. Sonny Gray pitched well enough but once again, his team couldn't score him any runs. thankfully, Aaron Judge, at this point, the second coming of Babe Ruth, hit a titanic homer to center that, as his manager said after the game, provided the spark. the Yankees closed the lead to 4-2 going into the 8th inning. that's where the Yankees exploded for 4 more runs to eventually win the game, 6-4. that ties the series at 2 games each. the all important Game 5 is this afternoon. Houston will be starting the Yankees nemesis, so if the Yankees somehow win today, i really feel like they will find a way to win the series back in Houston.

the New York Rangers fell behind early last night (shocker) but eventually had a lead late in the game last night against the Penguins. thanks to a stupid play from Kevin Shattenkirk, the Penguins and that crybaby Cindy Crosby tied the game at 4. in OT, i guess all those years of playing with shitty defensemen are finally paying off for Ryan McDonagh,. he gave away the puck in OT right in front of The King's net. Rangers lost 5-4 in OT. that was a good way for me to come back down to earth after the Yankees win. fuck me runnin'.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. give me Kevin Owens and a heel Sami Zayn forever please.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

American Horror Story was pretty interesting last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking great last night.

The Voice was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

Manchester United plays this afternoon against Benfica in the Champions League. i think i have to find the game on Facebook somewhere. hopefully they get a win.

rest in peace Gord Downie. your shift is over.

i got the results from my x-rays back. no fractures or anything like that. just more fucking arthritis. joy.

i have to get up early tomorrow to take mom to get another injection in her back. i'm hoping that will help her even more than it did the first time around before she had her hip replacement.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. here is the link:

wait, there's cheating in college basketball?????

anyone who is shocked by the "huge" scandal going on with college basketball the last few days has been living under a damn rock. this shit has been going on for as long as i have been alive. it's only now that the money totals have reached the 6 figure level, so the feds are fucking interested.

the New York Yankees won last night 6-1. they have now clinched home field for the wild card game. Boston lost again last night, so the Yankees are just 3 games out in the division race. i don't think Boston will collapse, but it's certainly not impossible.

the New York Rangers lost 4-3 in OT last night at Philadelphia. i'm definitely ready for the regular season to start.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

The Vietnam War was very sad last night. that was the first time i had actually heard the audio from Kent State. that brought tears. it was very interesting to see the number of veterans that were back from the war that said that's enough after what happened at Kent State. plus, it was good to see racism doesn't take any time off for a war. i believe tonight is going to be about something that i haven't heard anyone really talk about... what happened in Vietnam after the US troops left.

i went right from watching that into watching American Horror Story last night. i thought it was probably the best portrayal of why people voted for Trump... some people just have a need for fucking chaos.

nothing quite like feeling your back seize up while walking in a grocery store

today has been one of those days that what ever could become a clusterfuck has happened.

i guess i need to start setting my alarm as i slept later than i wanted to again this morning. i had to get ready to drive mom to an appointment and didn't have time to eat breakfast. i didn't know the appointment was going to end up being a 2 hour meeting with 3 different people. so, we had just enough time to get back home, quickly eat and then go to the lawyer's office. that wasn't too bad at all. he's a big Dayton Flyers fan as well, so we talked about the coaching search for a good 20 minutes. mom got all her papers signed and felt much better about having that out of the way. she figured if she got the will updated she won't die in surgery. so, you see where i get my positive outlook on the world from.

speaking of the Dayton Flyers, the guy second on my list looks like he will be getting the UMass job. just fucking great. if Dayton hires the guy at the top of my list, Pat Kelsey, i will be thrilled. whomever they hire, it HAS to be the right choice. they can't have a coach that allows the program to regress at all.

Smackdown was great last night. i really can't wait to see their matches this Sunday.

The Voice was really good last night. now it's time for the Knockout round.

205 Live was good last night. i can't wait to see Austin Aries vs. Neville this Sunday. it should be AMAZING.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night in San Jose, 5-4. at least they battled back and got a point out of the game. that point got them into the playoffs. 7th straight year in and 11 out of the last 12. hopefully this is the year they do something special.

the USA and Panama played a 1-1 draw last night in Panama. i was hoping the USA would win, but anytime you can get a point on the road in World Cup qualifying, you'll take it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i must have twisted my back when getting out of the car when i went to get mom's prescriptions at the grocery store. hopefully a nice long visit to the massage chair and ice will do the trick.

as of right now, everything looks to be on schedule for mom's hip replacement. she definitely needs it. i'm really hoping that helps her back as well.

i don't think i have to take her anywhere tomorrow, so maybe i'll actually get some writing done.

that's all for me kids. i have a date with an ice pack waiting...

selection Sunday

from what i've been reading, the "experts" believe the Dayton Flyers will be anywhere from a 8 to an 11 seed. i wouldn't mind them being on the 10 line, as that would move them away from a potential game against a #1 seed if they somehow manage to actually win their first game this year. honestly, i'm just really hoping they get selected. Dayton has never gone 4 years in a row and i would love to finally scratch that off the fucking list. plus, that's a nice big carrot for the freshman next year.

i did do a little writing last night. i wrote 5 poems, one of which i really, really liked. i'm hoping that one gets published as i already have a Soundcloud recording ready for it.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

i ended up watching more UFC than college basketball last night. i'm happy that there wasn't many upsets. that should help Dayton's cause.

Jerrod Carmichael: 8 was absolutely BRILLIANT last night. one hour of some of the best comedy i have seen in a long time.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Little Lies, Girls, Crashing, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Feud: Bette & Joan.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Detroit. i will probably watch some of the game while i'm filling out my NCAA brackets. hopefully Antti Raanta is ready to lead the team to the playoffs while The King is out with an injury.

i have to go to the grocery store today. mom has pills that need to be picked up and i have over $80 worth of pills that need to be picked up. plus, i might as well do the grocery shopping just in case some snow does hit here. and since i'll be going to 4 basketball games over Tuesday and Wednesday... i guess i'll just get it done today.

i will be on here tomorrow most likely after Manchester United takes on Chelsea in the FA Cup. i'm hoping but not counting on a victory for United. there's a reason Chelsea has been on top of the league for most of the season. but, it would be a good day for a miracle.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday and enjoyed that hour of sleep you lost. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

75 years later...

does this day still live in infamy? i really want to believe so, but i highly doubt it. now, if you are connected to the military at all, i would imagine December 7th means a great deal to you. but for the millions of people who detest war and everything else that goes along with it, i'm not sure if they actually give a shit. i'm definitely not a pro war kind of guy, but i do respect anyone who ever wore the uniform, including my father, grandfather, etc. too many people don't respect the person in the uniform. i imagine that's why there are so many homeless veterans and also why we have shitty mental health services in this country. i imagine those are 2 arguments for a different day. but, i urge everyone to do a little research for themselves on Pearl Harbor and why you should actually give a shit.

i spent most of this afternoon getting all the Christmas cards/gifts ready to mail out tomorrow. i can just imagine the horror at the post office when i walk in. hopefully there isn't a fucking line.

the Dayton Flyers started off slow last night, once again. i loved what the coach did this time. he immediately pulled 4 of the starters out of the game and put in bench players. that's exactly how you get their attention, take away playing time. considering Dayton was playing a Division II school, i could see why some of the guys thought it was going to be a cakewalk. once the Flyers got their shit in gear, it was. Dayton won 91-59. they play next on Saturday against ETSU.

the New York Rangers lost last night to the last place Islanders 4-2. thank god the game was over before i got home. the injury bug has hit the team again. i swear, if it's not one thing, it's another. they next play at Winnipeg tomorrow.

i had 3 of the 4 finalists on The Voice correct. when i saw who was in the final 3 to compete to see who made the last spot, i figured the Country Mafia would strike again. sure enough...
i really hope Sundance wins it all, but i honestly could see Billy winning it. that would certainly make me sick to my stomach.

Scream Queens was hilarious last night.

Smackdown was excellent last night. everything on the show just clicked. it was fantastic.

205 Live was very interesting last night. i'm happy Rich Swann is still the champ, but i can definitely see a feud coming up with TJ Perkins.

i got woke up this morning by a fucking telemarketer again. with my uncle in the hospital, i sort of feel like i have to see who the fuck is calling, especially since mom can't get to the phone very easily anymore. so, of course when the third phone call in 20 minutes came, i decided to fuck around and start speaking Spanish. of course, the phone call was for my mother. never fails.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League. of course, the pitch looks horrible, so i have no idea if they will actually play.

how capitalism killed "America" Friday

i never have gone shopping on Black Friday. i never have felt the need to. i did get all my shopping done yesterday online, mostly because i don't like people and i'm lazy. the endless commercials and people trampling over people to get whatever is infuriating as much as it is comical. as a poet, i love the chaos. as a human, i often wonder how the fuck all of us are the same species.

the Dayton Flyers started off flat as fuck last night. they couldn't hit the fucking ocean with the ball if they tried. at one point, i believe they were down 21-7. as they usually do, they clawed their way back to tie the game. and like usual, they ran out of gas to be down by 9 at halftime. they hung around in the second half and made a late run, taking the lead in the final 30 seconds of the game. that would be their only lead of the game. Nebraska won 80-78. that means Dayton will play Portland tonight, instead of UCLA. so, that means tonight becomes a MUST WIN game unless you'd like to have one of those "ugly" losses that keeps teams out of the NCAA tournament in March. these last two games have taken a few years off of my life.

thankfully, Manchester United did a much better job earlier in the day. the team played with an urgency that was needed and got some clinical finishing for a change. a 4-0 win over Feyenoord was just what they needed. now they can control their own destiny in the Europa League. the best part of yesterday's game was when the sun actually shined on a dog's ass and Wayne Rooney scored. he's now 1 goal away from being the club leader in goals. the boys take on West Ham next on Sunday.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

the DVR gets the night off tonight.

the New York Rangers play Philadelphia this afternoon. i'd really love to see the boys get back to winning consistently again.

i think i had a pretty productive Thanksgiving. i got mom's laundry done, although i'm not fucking sure where that other sock went. i also got all my Christmas shopping done. thank you Amazon.com.

i think i may try to do some writing today and maybe i'll get drunk enough that i'll actually do a video or something. who knows.

i hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. enjoy your consumerism day. and remember to help the little guy out tomorrow.

the joy of being a poet

i was out and about for a good portion of today. i had to go to the post office, make a deposit at the bank and then head up to Menards. i found just about everything i wanted to get at Menards, and thankfully got it done in just over 60 minutes. on the way back home, i went past a cemetery as a funeral was going on. if you look down in the music section, you can guess which song was playing as i drove past it. these are the moments where being a poet is actually fun.

i wrote the poem once i got home. i might do a little more writing tonight and then type them all up.

i did watch a good portion of the New York Rangers preseason game against Philadelphia last night. there was the usual dirty shit from the Flyers that they always do. i was happy to see the Rangers come back to force the game into OT. i didn't enjoy them losing less than 30 seconds in OT. but, it's the preseason for a reason. Philadelphia won 4-3. the Rangers play the Islanders tonight i believe.

The Voice was really good last night. i think Blake and Alicia have the best teams.

Gotham was great last night.

Monday Night Raw was excellent for the first time in months. of course, they were in Los Angeles, so i figured they would do an A+ show for a change. loved that they had the ladies do the main event. Sasha Banks and Charlotte have such great chemistry with each other. plus, a title change never hurts to make a show feel special.

i got the Monday Night Football game right, but my picks were still under .500 for the weekend. i'm at the point now where i might just blow up my fantasy teams and say fuck it for the season.

this is your life and its ending one moment at a time

maybe it was the lack of sleep, maybe it was watching American Horror Story at 2 in the morning, maybe it was simply my creative side running over... who the fuck knows. i'm good at noticing the cracks in my existence when it gets too hard to keep the anger in. eventually, i won't be good at it anymore. this is where i'm supposed to ask for forgiveness.

i'm not sure what i was more upset with today, Manchester United losing 1-0 to Feyenoord to start off the Europa League, or that the goal was clearly offside. or why it came down to that at all. United still has this arrogance that they can just show up against smaller clubs and win. i understood it with Sir Alex because they did win. it hasn't been like that since he retired. and sadly, the kids started the game today and i wouldn't be shocked if they are stuck on the bench now for weeks. it was like Rashford wanted to attack and everyone else thought the plan was to bunker in. fucking frustrating. the triple sub in the second half made some difference, but not enough to win the game. and honestly, i really fucking hope these officials don't work another game in Europe this season. god fucking awful.

the New York Yankees literally threw away yesterday's game, losing 2-0 to the Dodgers. the Yankees had as many hits as errors yesterday. hard to win doing that. they start a long ass road trip tonight in Boston.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i laughed my ass off at Paulie getting under Da'Vonne's skin in the jury house. Corey was evicted as i thought he would be. Paul is probably in the best position to win the game now that he has won the first part of the final HOH.

Any Given Wednesday was pretty interesting last night.

You're The Worst was fucking hilarious last night.

American Horror Story was fucking great. i wasn't sure where they were going but once it got going, i was all in. should be another great season.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was a really solid hour of wrestling, starting with the Samoa Joe sending Nakamura to the hospital. that feud should be great for the rest of the year.

the finale of the CWC was spectacular. first up was Gran Metalik vs. Zack Sabre Jr. i was figuring that since ZSJ hadn't signed with WWE, he wouldn't be winning. i was correct. it was a really good match. a little sloppy at times, but still great, fast paced action. next up was T.J. Perkins vs. Kota Ibushi. Ibushi also didn't sign with WWE, so i figured he wouldn't win either. i was right once again. the match was an instant classic. back and forth and just fucking awesome. next up was a tag team match between Ciampa and Gargano vs. Noam Dar and Cedric Alexander. just an excellent palate cleanser for the event. plenty of high spots and holy shit moments. all 4 of these guys will be part of the cruiserweights on Monday Night Raw. before the main event, HHH came out and broke out the brand new WWE Cruiserweight Championship. i have to admit, the belt did look damn good. the match between TJP and Gran Metalik was great. i really wanted TJP to win, mostly because of his amazing backstory. plus, when a guy has been in a business for 18 years and he's only 31, he has earned it. TJP won the match and is now the WWE Crisuerweight Champion. this was easily the best thing the WWE has done in years. hopefully they do it again.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Better Things.

i will most likely flip between the baseball game and the Jets vs. Bills game tonight. i have the Jets defense starting on one of my fantasy football teams.

oh great, more rain on the way

i was going to do my laundry today but my arthritis had different plans. great.

mom doesn't like to take pain pills. silly woman has lived 63 years and hasn't really done any drugs to expand her brain. so she doesn't like to feel "loopy". poor thing. she didn't take the pill last night and got 3 hours sleep and is now miserable. hindsight in action.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from CC last night, amazingly, and won 5-1. they play this afternoon in Seattle. hopefully they win and get even closer in the wildcard chase.

Smackdown was great last night. i loved the Carmella heel turn. the match between AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler was great. the post show tirade from The Miz completely going off on Daniel Bryan was BRILLIANT. all in all, maybe the best show that has been done since the brands split.

i did watch the Deadliest Catch update last night on Captain Sig's health since his heart attack. i'm so damn glad i gave up smoking when i did.

Hard Knocks was really good last night. i guess i really need to get my fantasy football shit together, the fucking season is going to start soon.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and Tyrant. i'll be watching NXT and CWC on WWE Network at some point tonight.

i'm really happy that all the poems i've had published the last few days have been very well received. please do me a favor and spread the word and tell the world if you don't mind.

well, i need to eat some lunch and probably start drinking so i can either finish the dishes or do my laundry. good times.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

one of those nights that...

goes so damn well that time actually flies by. just one crazy ass moment after another that made the night one i probably won't forget for a few weeks at least.

the gold medal match between Germany and Brazil did not disappoint yesterday. i thought for sure Germany would win once it went to penalty kicks, but amazingly, that didn't happen. one huge save and then the biggest goal of Neymar's life. you could tell that finally, the weight of a nation had been lifted from him.

next up was NXT Takeover Brooklyn II. every match had something that was great. i loved that they set up Austin Aries to go against Hideo Itami. dream match coming up there. i can't wait for the world to see what all Ember Moon can do. if that was Bayley's goodbye, i would love to see her show up either tonight or on Monday Night Raw. Bobby Roode's entrance music is beyond fucking GLORIOUS. the tag team match was spectacular. i would have loved to seen Gargano and Ciampa win, but oh well. it was still a great match. and the main event between Nakamura and Samoa Joe was fucking amazing. Nakamura's entrance was spectacular. i might have to get that song on iTunes one of these days. to see the video of the fans singing it after the match as they were leaving the building was amazing. the match itself was stiff, brutal (in a good way) and brilliant. a few false finishes, a few last second kick outs and then one of the most brutal knees to the face i have seen in years. new champion. it's amazing to think that Shinsuke Nakamura is now the NXT champion.

after that i started to watch the New York Yankees game while following UFC 202 on the computer. the Yankees got some great pitching once again and more offense from the kids, Sanchez and Judge, to win 5-1. they go for the sweep of the Angels later today.

once i started to see the pictures from the main event of UFC 202, i knew exactly what the people on the internet were describing. the absolute war between McGregor and Diaz last night. i loved the CM Punk tweet that said they will be best friends after this. 5 rounds of beating the shit out of each other. McGregor won the fight on a majority decision, so of course there will have to be a third fight. overall, from what people were saying, this was the best UFC card in a long time.

ROH last night was really good. nothing like a good 60 minutes of chaos.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Big Brother, Power, The Night Of, Ballers, Vice Principals, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Roadies.

i will be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening. 13 matches, which is a ridiculous number. i believe the pre-show starts at 5. the end of the show probably won't be until around 11. so, i'm hoping for a great show or at least something that doesn't make me realize that i've been sitting for 6 hours watching pro wrestling.

today is my uncle's 81st birthday. after the cancer diagnosis, i don't think any of us thought he'd make it to this birthday. so, hopefully he has a great one. my sister is down for it, so i'll probably get to chat with her for a bit. we'll probably have to go over mom's health.

mom still has it in her head that she needs to suck it up and go to Columbus. i more or less went off on her after that comment. she's been a damn slave to her job all her life and where the fuck has it got her? she's seen thousands of people lie, cheat and steal and get ahead of her in life, why the fuck is she paying into a system and not taking advantage of it? it amazes me that nice people never realize the cliche is true, they do finish last.

i do plan on watching the gold medal game in basketball between the USA and Serbia today. that should get over in time for me to start watching wrestling. so, there's the rest of my day basically.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
