you would think with how strong i made the victory drinks yesterday i would have slept better. instead, i'm in this shitty pattern of waking up every few hours and wondering what the fuck. i suppose it's time to exhaust the brain with another writing session.
the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore again yesterday, 13-5. Gary Sanchez set the major league record for the fastest a player has ever got to 11 home runs in their career (23 games). hopefully they will get the sweep today and get even closer to a playoff position. they are 2.5 games out of the wildcard as of right now.
Manchester United took on a very stubborn Hull City team yesterday. the one thing i did love about United yesterday is they played with a sense of urgency whenever they did lose possession. it felt like the ball was in Hull's half the entire second half of the game. thankfully, Marcus Rashford came to the rescue again with a late winner. United won 1-0.
always good to go into the international break with 3 wins and all 9 points.
the UFC on Fox was really good last night. i wish the main event would have lasted longer, but oh well.
ROH was excellent last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the finale of The Night Of, Ballers, Vice Principals, Power, Ray Donovan, the finale of Roadies and the return of The Strain.
we had a nice holy shit storm come through here last night. even had the power go out for a little bit. just long enough that all the damn clocks had to be reset. i don't think we had much damage. i still need to go out and look.
the Dayton Flyers got their first commit for 2017 yesterday. a 6-4 guard from South Carolina, Jordan Davis. he had 17 offers and chose Dayton above some other bigger name schools. and judging from what i saw, i'm really going to like this kid. he can fucking shoot.
that's all for me kids. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

i believe i had been up for 2 hours this morning and had taken 4 shits already. not exactly what i needed on a morning i had to drive my mother to the doctor's office. amazingly, i didn't shit while i was there. but, the second i got back into the house... a sprint to the bathroom. and it's damn near impossible to sprint with your ass cheeks clenched. good times. thankfully, i haven't had to go for a few hours now.
mom is now on pain pills and muscle relaxers, so she's off work for the next few weeks. hopefully between the pills and the chiropractor, she starts to feel better soon. hopefully she doesn't have to go through what i did with my fucked up back.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday 2-0. they got good pitching but no clutch hitting once again. they start a series up in Seattle tonight. if they still hold the illusion of the playoffs inside of them, these are MUST win games.
WWE SummerSlam was long as fuck yesterday. i thought most of the matches were solid, a couple were really good (Cena vs. Styles, Rollins vs. Balor), i now understand why they had Sasha lose to Charlotte (i didn't like the decision yesterday) and i highly doubt the plan was for Brock Lesnar to leave Randy Orton a bloody fucking mess, but it worked out like that. all in all, it was good, but could have been great.
The Voice was a really good preview of just how damn good i think the show is going to be this season. i really like what Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys bring to the show.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. it will be interesting to see who gets evicted this week.
Power was amazing once again last night. The Night Of was awesome as well. i can't wait to see what the finale holds next week. Ballers was pretty funny, as was Vice Principals. Ray Donovan had a couple twists that i loved. Roadies was really good last night. that finale is next week as well. Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual last night:
team USA men's basketball destroyed Serbia yesterday 96-66 in the gold medal game.

goes so damn well that time actually flies by. just one crazy ass moment after another that made the night one i probably won't forget for a few weeks at least.
the gold medal match between Germany and Brazil did not disappoint yesterday. i thought for sure Germany would win once it went to penalty kicks, but amazingly, that didn't happen. one huge save and then the biggest goal of Neymar's life. you could tell that finally, the weight of a nation had been lifted from him.
next up was NXT Takeover Brooklyn II. every match had something that was great. i loved that they set up Austin Aries to go against Hideo Itami. dream match coming up there. i can't wait for the world to see what all Ember Moon can do. if that was Bayley's goodbye, i would love to see her show up either tonight or on Monday Night Raw. Bobby Roode's entrance music is beyond fucking GLORIOUS. the tag team match was spectacular. i would have loved to seen Gargano and Ciampa win, but oh well. it was still a great match. and the main event between Nakamura and Samoa Joe was fucking amazing. Nakamura's entrance was spectacular. i might have to get that song on iTunes one of these days. to see the video of the fans singing it after the match as they were leaving the building was amazing. the match itself was stiff, brutal (in a good way) and brilliant. a few false finishes, a few last second kick outs and then one of the most brutal knees to the face i have seen in years. new champion. it's amazing to think that Shinsuke Nakamura is now the NXT champion.
after that i started to watch the New York Yankees game while following UFC 202 on the computer. the Yankees got some great pitching once again and more offense from the kids, Sanchez and Judge, to win 5-1. they go for the sweep of the Angels later today.
once i started to see the pictures from the main event of UFC 202, i knew exactly what the people on the internet were describing. the absolute war between McGregor and Diaz last night. i loved the CM Punk tweet that said they will be best friends after this. 5 rounds of beating the shit out of each other. McGregor won the fight on a majority decision, so of course there will have to be a third fight. overall, from what people were saying, this was the best UFC card in a long time.
ROH last night was really good. nothing like a good 60 minutes of chaos.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Big Brother, Power, The Night Of, Ballers, Vice Principals, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Roadies.
i will be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening. 13 matches, which is a ridiculous number. i believe the pre-show starts at 5. the end of the show probably won't be until around 11. so, i'm hoping for a great show or at least something that doesn't make me realize that i've been sitting for 6 hours watching pro wrestling.
today is my uncle's 81st birthday. after the cancer diagnosis, i don't think any of us thought he'd make it to this birthday. so, hopefully he has a great one. my sister is down for it, so i'll probably get to chat with her for a bit. we'll probably have to go over mom's health.
mom still has it in her head that she needs to suck it up and go to Columbus. i more or less went off on her after that comment. she's been a damn slave to her job all her life and where the fuck has it got her? she's seen thousands of people lie, cheat and steal and get ahead of her in life, why the fuck is she paying into a system and not taking advantage of it? it amazes me that nice people never realize the cliche is true, they do finish last.
i do plan on watching the gold medal game in basketball between the USA and Serbia today. that should get over in time for me to start watching wrestling. so, there's the rest of my day basically.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

we have had somewhere close to 3 inches of rain here in the last 24 hours or so. not exactly fun for a guy dealing with arthritis, but that's life. thankfully, it's not nearly as bad as what other places in the country have got. but, it does remind me that i won't be living in the Pacific Northwest anytime soon in my life.
the New York Yankees got killed yesterday 12-3. if they would have won, it would have been the first time all season they would have been 5 games over .500. that should explain just how mediocre they have been this season. they start a series with Toronto tonight. this series should clearly show if they have a chance at the playoffs or not.
team USA men's basketball team won 100-97 over a France team playing without Tony Parker yesterday. if they don't get better defensively, i wouldn't be shocked if there is no gold medal this year. i did like that one sports guy pointed out the biggest hole on the team... no LeBron James. life is always easier when the best in the world is on your side.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i love that Paulie's game is totally fucked now. i'm sure his brother is proud.
all of the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. The Night Of was spectacular. Ballers was hilarious. Vice Principals was really funny. Power was off the charts fucking amazing. at least 3 holy shit moments last night. Ray Donovan was really good. Roadies was excellent. it showed off the immense talent that is Ron White. and as always, Last Week Tonight was brilliant:

i got up early this morning so i knew i would be ready for when Manchester United would take on Bournemouth. i'm still sort of in shock that The Special One is now the manager of the club, but, i'll get used to it. United got a gift late in the first half that Juan Mata put in the back of the net. in the second half, United showed some more of what i hope to be is their ruthless side. goals from Wayne Rooney and the man that wants to be God of Manchester. a very good 3-1 win that will hopefully be a sign of things to come. i really think the best player so far this season has been Eric Bailly. i can only dream of the kind of defender he will become one day. the man is already a beast.
the New York Yankees broke out the long ball in historic fashion yesterday. Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge became the first teammates to hit home runs back to back in their first career plate appearances. holy shit, the future looks bright. out of the 5 home runs the Yankees hit yesterday, all of them were hit by guys 26 or younger. that's exactly what i've been screaming for this season. the Yankees won 8-4 yesterday. today, the team will give Mariano Rivera his plaque in Monument Park. and hopefully the team goes out and gets the sweep of Tampa.
ROH last night was excellent. i could watch The Young Bucks wrestle every night for the rest of my life and not get bored.

that subject title implies that i'm a negative person. it's only mostly true. i believe this is what happens to humans when their childhoods get stolen from them. the instinct to survive takes over way too early. shit like plan for the best prepare for the worst gets drilled into your brain. i find myself at times just laying in my bed, staring at the ceiling. i'm 40 years old, single with no kids, living with my mother. that's the most depressing manifest destiny i can think of. it's hard enough to keep going when you're 93% sure the woman you were meant to be with either was aborted or died in a car accident. i don't exactly enjoy being a lost soul, but it tends to make wonderful poetry at times. and those of you who have religion on the tip of your tongues while reading this, keep in mind i spent most of that stolen childhood in the church. never expose the hypocrisy of Christians to a young genius who can figure out a scam when he sees one. i was baptized on April Fool's Day. that's poetry in itself. i've read the New Testament and actually believe in it. i know WAY too many Christians that don't. perhaps that's why the world fucking sucks.
my dreams have been extremely mundane here lately. it's mostly just me walking. barren lands and shadowy faces. i wake up and can tell i've spent the entire night tossing and turning. i might sleep for 5 hours, but i doubt i'm really getting any rest. and these are the moments where i think of Dylan Thomas and smile. someone gets that reference and understands. the rest of you should do a Google search.
as you might imagine, i'm on the verge of another poetical flood. i think i might have a good 10 or so swimming in my mind. i figure they'll start to come when i'm taking a shower or a shit.
the Sunday night shows were really good last night. Big Brother is getting somewhat interesting now, mostly because the dumb asses are finally figuring out who is actually running the house.
Power was spectacular last night. it's getting really interesting now. Ballers was hilarious. Vice Principals took me back to rivalry week in high school. oh the memories. Ray Donovan was good. Roadies was excellent. i believe i have a new celebrity crush, hello Halsey. The Night Of took a few more twists and turns. such a great show. and Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual:

so i started off this morning knowing that two "major" events were going to be taking place at the same time this morning. Manchester United playing for the Community Shield and A-Rod was having a press conference at Yankee Stadium. i might as well start there...
the New York Yankees lost yesterday 5-2. later that night, word came out that there was going to be a press conference today at 11 AM. thankfully, the Yankees sent out a press release right before the press conference stating what was going on. A-Rod's last game will be on this upcoming Friday, mostly so he can play his final game in front of his mother. after that, the team will unconditionally release him from his player contract. he then will become a special advisor to the team, directly reporting to the owner. more or less, he's still owed $27 million dollars and they are going to force him to earn it one way or another. and since he's shot as a baseball player... so the Yankees went out on win one for Alex day and did just that, winning 3-2. they are off tomorrow before starting a series in Boston. if i was the manager, i'd play Alex at least once in Boston, so those fans can get one more loud boo in for him.
so i didn't watch much of the press conference so i could focus on the Community Shield. you can really tell that Manchester United is still searching for chemistry and fitness. hats off to Jesse Lingard for yet another amazing goal at Wembley. United had the lead 1-0 at half. Leicester City came out and really pressed in the second half. of course, a stupid fucking back pass from Fellaini helped them out as well. but in the 83rd minute, enter the man who wants to be the God of Manchester.
Zlatan scores his first Manchester United goal that ends up winning the Community Shield for the 21st time. i certainly love when a team plays like shit and still wins. plenty of room for improvement. and they now can end the streak for Community Shield winners not winning the league. all in all, i really think this team can do magical things this season, especially when United sent this out on their website.
holy shit, i guess the Paul Pogba rumors are true. the club confirmed he was getting his medical done today. well, well, well... this season will be interesting for sure.
congrats to the boys on the trophy, hopefully the first of many this season.
i watched ROH this afternoon as it didn't record last night for some reason. another excellent episode, as usual.
i really enjoyed Austin City Limits last night. Ms. Lauryn Hill hasn't missed a beat over the years. simply amazing.

i did watch team USA women's soccer defeat France yesterday 1-0. they really played a great second half and earned that victory. the USA men's basketball team destroyed China last night, 119-62. i don't think they will play a close game in the Olympics. hopefully i'm wrong, but i doubt it.
well, now i have some drinking to go do and maybe a little poetic magic tricks as well. maybe.

the salad i had for dinner last night attacked before i could hit publish on this. just thought you wanted the visual stuck in your head now.
seeing that the New York Yankees haven't been sellers at the trade deadline since 1989, most fans are probably perplexed that the Yankees are trading off players. but, as for someone who has been a fan since 1982, i am fucking thrilled. they traded Carlos Beltran today to Texas for 3 pitching prospects, including one who was the 4th overall pick last year in the draft. they also traded Ivan Nova to Pittsburgh for 2 players to be named later. i'm amazed they got more than a bag of baseballs for him. overall, the Yankees completely rebuilt their farm system in a week. BRILLIANT. hopefully they will quickly realize this season doesn't mean shit and start calling up some of the kids from AAA to play NOW. that way they can be seasoned by the time the kids down in A and AA are ready to come up. and then you can break out the cash again when the free agent class of 2018 arrives. and then hopefully another dynasty will be born. it all looks good on paper. if only they played the damn games on paper.
the Yankees got swept yesterday by losing 5-3 in Tampa. tonight starts the Subway Series against the Mets. i couldn't care less.
Big Brother was pretty good last night.
The Night Of was excellent last night. i really love this show. Ballers was funny. Vice Principals was fucking hilarious. Power was really good last night. i can see where they are going this season, but i can't wait to see how they do it. Ray Donovan was really good with a bit of a surprising ending. Roadies was good as well. finally, Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always:
i don't think i missed much by not going with my sister yesterday to our aunt's house. she sent mom some old pics that she got, all from stuff that i already remember. there is a big part of me that wishes i had the ability to not remember my childhood like my sister. it would make the writing more difficult at times but it certainly would remove nearly 40 years of weight off of me.

on the DVR tonight will be nothing. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did finally go out and feed the birds today. right before i went out, i saw this stray cat that's in our little neighborhood, walking around my uncle's house with a bird in its mouth. i laughed and remembered the food chain like i used to do at the farm. feed the birds for the cats, the cats for the coyotes which will eventually be killed by humans.
it was so fucking humid this afternoon. if the temperature was in the mid 80's, the humidity was in the mid 90% range. and i was wearing black. good times.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. can you believe the Olympics are starting soon? do you even care? that's probably the better question.

i'm pretty sure what sleep was for me last night was 5 1/2 hours of being unable to get my back into a comfortable position. so with that killing me today, my sister went alone to see our father's family. i doubt i'm going to miss much.
the New York Yankees lost again last night, 6-3. thankfully, i believe that was enough to waive the white flag. they traded Andrew Miller to the Indians this morning for 4 prospects. 2 of them are in the Indians top 5. for some reason, they traded for former Yankee Tyler Clippard. i guess they wanted a veteran arm in a depleted bullpen now. but, the good news, the Yankees now have 7 of top 100 prospects in all of baseball. that's one way to rebuild a farm system. now, if they can just get rid of Nova. McCann, A-Rod, Tex and Beltran, i'll be thrilled. hopefully they will get swept by the Rays today.
i finally got a chance to watch The Night Before last night. i believe i have a new go to Christmas movie. that was fucking hilarious. my sister loved it as well.
we saw the fireworks last night from the community picnic. thankfully, it was a nice enough night that you could actually have a beer while standing in the driveway watching.
ROH was excellent last night. it's been awhile since i've seen someone get their head shaved on television. classic heel move. good stuff.

the New York Yankees pissed away a chance to win yesterday and lost 2-1 in 12 innings. hopefully they will lose in 9 innings today. the rumors are saying they are close to trading their closer. music to my fucking ears. sell sell sell.
ROH was really good last night. Adam Cole being in the Bullet Club is great. i could watch him and Kyle O'Reilly fight forever.

i will be spending most of the night watching WWE Battleground on WWE Network. this should be a very interesting ppv tonight, that should show the direction they are going in now that the draft is over.
i did watch some of the UFC on FOX last night. it was nice to see some good fighting for a change.
i did get a decent amount of sleep yesterday. the trick is to find a soccer game that you don't care about the outcome. i find that and golf the easiest to fall asleep to. now, turn the volume down if you are listening to the soccer matches in Spanish.

so, i was watching my shows last night when i noticed the shows on Showtime didn't record. i turned to the channel and it was just a black screen. so, instead of just figuring out how to reboot the system myself, i contacted DirecTV. big mistake. once i rebooted the main receiver, Showtime came back on. and then, 2 minutes later, i had something pop up on the screen saying i was using more locations than allowed. 3 techs later, i was told this happened because the main receiver wasn't picking up the other mini receivers. i asked if it had anything to do with the reboot and they said no. i laughed, as this was the first time this has ever happened. so, after fucking around with everything for almost 60 minutes, everything was back to normal. of course, this also meant if i was going to watch the shows now, i was going to be up past 3 AM. i'm a sucker for pain. i used to love DirecTV but quite frankly, ever since AT&T got involved, straight downhill.
i enjoyed all the shows last night. Big Brother was pretty funny, as paranoia is finally settling in at the house.
The Night Of was great. i love a show with a good slow build. Ballers was good. Vice Principals was fucking hilarious.
Power was fucking great. Ray Donovan was crazy. Roadies was really good once again.
the New York Yankees amazingly won last night, 3-1, avoiding the sweep to Boston. they start a series tonight at home against Baltimore. if they lose this series, i have to think they will start trading off players.

it was raining when i woke up this morning. nothing quite like pain after 3 hours of sleep. i've tried to get my back to loosen up for most of the day. no luck. i hope my mother is ready for the bitching when she gets home.
i was a little shocked at the trade the New York Rangers made today. i hate to see Derick Brassard leave, but they are getting someone back that is younger, cheaper, and i think just as good. that should open up the money to sign the rest of the restricted free agents and gives them an extra second round pick next year to help get younger. enjoy your time in Ottawa Brassy, you were always a good one. welcome to the team Mika Zibanejad.
i do encourage all of you to take advantage of the Punk Chapbook Series. $40 for 12 books is a fucking steal. and honestly, and i'm not saying this because i'm included, it's a great list of writers involved. for more info, go to: http://www.epicrites.org/
so i read more about the shooter yesterday in Baton Rouge. i'm curious if this country is ever going to have a conversation about mentally ill veterans anytime EVER. given the fact that my father was in Vietnam and died of Dementia, i have a pretty good background on this shit. and honestly, if we are really fucking serious about stopping mass shootings and whatnot, the first thing we have to fix is the mental health system. if that doesn't get fixed, it won't fucking matter what gun laws you change or what barriers you put up to stop this shit from happening. of course, we won't have that discussion about mental health because no one wants to accept the blame for fucking over generation after generation of people who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

the New York Yankees lost again yesterday, 5-2. this is the first time since 1995 they are below .500 after the All Star break. if they can't figure out they need to be sellers at the trade deadline, they are truly fucking clueless. the manager said tonight is a MUST WIN game. i won't be shocked when they lose.
ROH was excellent last night. the match between Roderick Strong and Dalton Castle was excellent. next week's episode should be great.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, The Night Of, Ballers, Vice Principals, Roadies and Ray Donovan.
my sister sent me the pics she took up in Cleveland. here's a few of them:
the guy who mows our grass got the toilet unclogged. that certainly saved some money.
i guess i should feed the birds before it storms tonight. i'm certainly not looking forward to a night of constant wind and rain. this could be the night i just drink myself into oblivion.
i hope everyone has a great Sunday. at the very least, i hope it's better than your Saturday was.
i would love to be naive enough to think i could write the words PLEASE STOP KILLING EACH OTHER and it would make a difference. imagine what this country could have been like if we actually had a honest talk about race after the Civil War. just imagine if we actually would have evolved to be at the point in 2016 that we recognize everyone as a human worth respecting. but, enough people make enough money off of hate, that i can't see anything changing anytime soon. i would love to go one day without seeing that an innocent black male was killed or any cops were killed in response. just one fucking day. and when that becomes too much to ask for, you can imagine what we're degenerating into.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
well, hello there. i'm back from vacation. other than the fucking humidity and me forgetting the charger for my camera, everything was really good. i can now say i've used Uber and have seen the New York Yankees win in person. today's blog is going to be a long one, so grab something to drink and sit back and enjoy.
the drive up was pretty good. just missed a nice rollover accident on I-71 by a few minutes. other than the ton of cops out, the drive was a quick one. our first stop was A Christmas Story house in Cleveland. my sister loves this movie.
if it would have been cooler, i probably would have enjoyed it more. but it felt something like death outside. find more about the tour by going here: http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/
next we went to an Irish pub to watch the game between France and Germany. the fish and chips were excellent. as for the game, i was a little surprised that France won.
we walked around downtown a little, stumbling into the House of Blues. i got a cool shot glass from there. then it was time to go find the hotel.
my sister heard from a friend that the hotel we were staying at was really good. while we were there, she realized that her friend had never stayed at the hotel, he only saw it from the bar he was drinking in. it was a total hipster hotel. no drawers to put anything in, so we were basically living out of our suitcases. the beds sucked. the pillows sucked. the toilet was about as low to the ground as possible. how i didn't kill my back while taking a shit when i was on it is still amazing to me. but, the view from the hotel wasn't bad. we were in The Flats, so it was a noisy time, not only from the clubs but the damn train tracks.
the next day we had breakfast at a really good local deli and then made our way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. after we found some parking relatively close, we made our way in.
if you have followed this blog for any length of time, you know how much i absolutely LOVE music. so, you can imagine just how pissed i was when halfway through the museum my camera started to die. it's a cruel fucking world my friends. below are some of my favorite pictures. i took a ton of them.
the last photo i took was when we left, looking out to the water.
we went back to the hotel to cool down and get ready for the baseball game. we had a parking pass for the game, so that made things really easy. i do like the setup in Cleveland with the baseball stadium and basketball arena right next to each other. i'm not sure what kinds of pictures my sister got from the games or walking around the stadiums. the Yankees got torched on Friday night, losing 10-2. yikes. the fireworks after the game were good at least.
Saturday we got up sort of early and went to the market on the west side of the city. breakfast there was ok. i figured out i don't like that much paprika on potatoes. i think i tasted paprika for the rest of the day. the market itself was pretty cool but it was sensory overload for my brain. after my sister got her coffee, we went back to the hotel to get ready for an afternoon game.
my sister has used Uber in the past and had no problems with it. that was about to change. the driver couldn't find us for anything. and once he did, he was in this little sedan. i was immediately pissed as i knew i would be aching after this car ride. well, the Ron White look alike driving us had no clue where to drop us off near the stadium. once he figured that out after a couple u-turns, mom and i had a really fun time crawling out of the vehicle. thankfully, the game went much better than the car ride. the Yankees came from behind a few times to win 7-6 in 11 innings.
after the game, we decided to walk to the Hard Rock Cafe, which was a few blocks down from the stadium. the service there was atrocious. at least my burger was decent. i believe my sister is still waiting on her salad. while we were there, i noticed Rob Refsnyder of the Yankees came in. i don't bother famous people when i see them in public. i do understand why the Yankees GM has doubts about him. he's a slight man to say the least. but, he got the same burger i got, so he has decent taste.
the Uber ride after dinner was good. the driver had a SUV, so that made it much easier. by this time, the rain was getting closer, so my back was shot. now, at the hotel we were at, there is two clubs and a restaurant in the same building. nothing quite like bass thumping all the way up to the 5th floor to make you feel like you were back in your 20's again.
now, while in the hotel room, i think i wrote 13 poems. most of them were while i was looking out the window. i typed them up when we got home yesterday. i really think a couple of them are great.
the drive back to my sister's was mostly uneventful. we had to separate some of things we got as we basically packed up as quickly as we could to leave on Sunday. i do like the fact that we really didn't eat at any chains while we were up there. we tried to do "local" as best as possible. the drive from my sister's to the house was pretty easy. we got back in time to see the finals of Euro 2016.
Euro 2016 Update:
i was sort of bummed to see CR7 go off with an injury in the first half. sadly, so was France. their play really dipped like they just knew they had the game won already. whoops. Portugal scored in the 109th minute to win the game 1-0. easily, the biggest win for Portugal EVER. and quite frankly, they deserved it.
the Yankees won yesterday 11-7 to take 3 out of 4 from Cleveland. that gets the Yankees back at .500 at the All Star break. i do hope the Cleveland fans know they will have to be much better if a team like the Yankees can come in and whip them like they did. i really laughed at how many fuckers in that town think just because the Cavs won a title, now the Indians will. sorry people, but LeBron doesn't play baseball.
the Sunday night shows were good. Big Brother was pretty much what i thought would happen. i did get to see the Thursday live show while up in Cleveland, so the Sunday show was a little catch up for me.
Ray Donovan was really good. Roadies was pretty good as well. the winner of the night was The Night Of. i decided to get some sleep and watch that this afternoon. holy shit, it's great. i can't wait to see how this show turns out. the first episode had a little bit of everything. hopefully the rest of the episodes will as well.
mom and i went out to lunch this afternoon. first time i had ever been to Red Robin. where the fuck has this place been all my life. this one just went in about 2 months ago. first one in this area. i absolutely loved it. i'll be back, for sure.
i managed to catch up on all 362 emails that were waiting for me. i kept my promise of not getting online at all while i was away. told my mother i struck it rich today. made 80 cents on a pork survey. the big time is right around the corner.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
i will probably catch up on some more things on the DVR tonight after i watch Monday Night Raw.
i will probably get some poems ready to send out later this week. i have a doctors appointment on Wednesday and i'll probably have to go with mom when she takes the car in on Friday.
the check engine light came on while we were driving back from Cleveland yesterday. it never started flashing, so i figured it was ok to drive. but, we had to have the windows down as i wasn't going to press our luck by running the air conditioner. i think i drove fast enough that we stayed somewhat cool.
that's all for me kids. i did enjoy my first vacation in over 13 years. a big thank you to my sister and my mother as this was my 40th birthday present. i probably have some more poems about the trip to write. those will trickle out for a few months probably.
i hope everyone had a wonderful time while i was away. of course, if you are a human and actually give a shit about humanity, the events of Baton Rouge, Minnesota and Dallas should still be on your mind. if you don't give a shit and enjoy fucking chaos, live it up while you can. as for the rest of us, it still fucking amazes me how much shit doesn't change in this world.
