a cold Saturday morning...

i got up this morning and it was 14 degrees outside. i just love feeling the cold in my old bones. and i don't think it is going to warm up much today either. joy.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was very good last night.

Chillin Island was pretty funny last night.

Ray Donovan: The Movie was really good last night. i thought it did a good job of weaving the past and the future together and giving the show some feeling of finality.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits.

the Dayton Flyers play today at Duquesne. Dayton is a 3.5 point favorite.

Manchester United plays today at Aston Villa. hopefully, the boys will find a way to win today.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Philadelphia.

the NFL playoffs start today. first game will be the Raiders at Bengals. second game is the Patriots at the Bills. part of me would love to see the Bengals end their playoff drought today. they haven't won a playoff game since 1991.

i need to get to the bank today and deposit the check mom wrote for me. plus, i need to shower, so that's all for me kids.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i should be on here in the morning tomorrow.

well, at least i wrote a couple poems...

my fear is becoming true i think. writing poetry to me was always easy. making it good got easier the more i wrote. then of course, my ego decided everything i wrote was good. that lasted for a good number of years. now, writing poetry is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. i wrote 2 poems last night, and it felt like i had to move the mountains to even get that done. i have the feeling i need one of those blackout drunk nights from my 20's to sort of reset everything. and i know i'm not lucky enough that i would die from it. it is this ongoing depression mixed with apathy and pure fucking frustration. and then knowing all the bridges have been burnt and no one is coming around to just say hello. joy. but, i did find out today that all my prescriptions got transferred to the Rite Aid in town. so, that will be a different experience. as long as it eases my frustration with the new insurance, i'll be better off. fuck, i had all these plans today...

the New York Rangers defeated San Jose last night, 3-0.

Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

United States of Al was good last night.

B Positive was hilarious last night.

she would have been 108 today...

my birthday is tomorrow. my grandmother's birthday is today. or was, seeing that she is dead. she would have been 108 today. i imagine if she was alive, she'd still be smoking by a window saying woe is me and listening to old gospel songs. she died back in the 90's.

happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. hopefully it was more than just a day off for you.

so, we had a nice night of miscommunication last night. i thought my sister was going home last night, as my mother told me. that wasn't correct. and we had a big dinner last night. mom thought we were going to do the cake and presents after dinner. i started watching my Sunday night shows as i was too full to have something else. so, mom got pissy and did her passive aggressive act and went to bed. i watched the shows with my sister until about midnight as my sister requires something resembling 8 hours of sleep a night. i told her if you ever see me sleep 8 hours, i'm dead. i went to bed around 2 and was up at 6 this morning to take a giant shit. enjoy the visual.

i opened my presents today. my sister got me a book, some music and some clothes. my mother got me some clothes and a card. it was all more than i was expecting. i sent my sister home with some cake.

the NFL games went as i was expecting yesterday. Kansas City defeated Tennessee, 35-24. San Francisco defeated Green Bay, 37-20. Chiefs vs. 49ers should be a good Super Bowl.

the New York Rangers blew a lead last night and lost to Columbus, 2-1. if they actually want to make the playoffs, that's a game they needed to win.

Batwoman was pretty good last night.

Power was excellent last night.

the season finale of Ray Donovan was great last night.

Shameless was really good last night. the season finale is next week.

The Outsider was fucking weird as hell last night. loved it.

Avenue 5 was pretty funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The New Pope. i'll watch Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the Dayton Flyers are now ranked #7 in college basketball. what a time to be fucking alive. highest ranking since 1967.

i'll probably do my laundry tomorrow. it figures i would spend my birthday knocking the shit out of my underwear.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i suppose it could always be worse...

i was hoping to get this blog done before the Manchester United game today, as i knew i'd be a bit pissy if the game went as i thought it would. of course, it did. United lost to Liverpool 2-0. the much worse news in my eyes is the injury news for Marcus Rashford. stress fractures in his back and a loose bone in his ankle. i figure once he has the surgeries, his season might as well be over. that opens up the big question here in the January transfer window; will United bring anyone in? i doubt it, and if that is the case, then Mason Greenwood should take his place and start all the fucking games. i doubt they do that either. my best guess is the owners are fine with this fucking mediocrity and will do nothing. joy.

i did watch a ton of college basketball yesterday. there were so many upsets, i think there's a decent chance that Dayton may end up in the top 10 tomorrow. if so, that would be the first time since 1967.

Austin City Limits was really good and weird last night.

ROH was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, the season finale of Ray Donovan, Shameless, Power, The Outsider, Avenue 5 and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Columbus. i'd love to see to the Rangers win again.

i do plan on watching the AFC and NFC championship games today. first up is the Titans at the Chiefs. the second game is the Packers at the 49ers. winners go to the Super Bowl.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i will be on here tomorrow sometime between doing loads of my laundry.

i guess we're celebrating my birthday today whenever my sister gets back here. joy.

does the sun exist anymore?

i haven't seen the sun in days. that's not a good thing in the winter for me, as my depression seems to really enjoy the doom and gloom. i got a ton of shit around the house done this weekend. we finally took down all the Christmas shit. i helped mom vacuum the whole house. that's always a reminder of how bad my bad back really is. 15 minutes of standing and i'm in pain. joy.

i did watch both NFL games yesterday. the Texans blew a 24-0 lead over the Chiefs to lose 51-31. the Packers beat the Seahawks 28-23 in the night game.

NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool II was fantastic yesterday.

Power was pretty good last night.

Ray Donovan was very good last night. the season finale is next week.

Shameless was really good last night.

both episodes of The Outsider were fucking amazing last night.

when the wind sounds like a train...

the wind has been fucking wicked around here the last couple of days. there was a radar indicated tornado last night north of us. ever since Memorial Day, this area has been on edge with any kind of storm. thankfully, the wind and rain had moved on by this morning. it was much cooler this morning as well. we ended up with around 1.6 inches of rain.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Saint Louis, 5-2.

i did watch most of the NFL playoff games last night. the 49ers defeated the Vikings, 27-10. and the Titans shocked the Ravens, 28-12. today, the Texans are at the Chiefs and the Seahawks are at the Packers.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

numb to the pain anymore...

i have watched the New Orleans Saints lose so many heartbreakers over the years, i'm now fucking numb to the pain. so, when they lost to the Minnesota Vikings yesterday, i wasn't surprised. especially given that the Vikings committed pass interference on the game winning touchdown in overtime. that didn't piss me off, i'm used to the Saints getting fucked over on calls. what pissed me off was Sean Payton got conservative late in the 4th quarter, settling for the field goal to force overtime. it was so unlike him to do so, that i had that awful feeling in my stomach that the worse was coming. and sure enough...

the Seattle Seahawks won the other game yesterday, winning at the Eagles, 17-9.

the Dayton Flyers defeated Saint Joseph's yesterday, 80-67. Dayton did not play their best during the game. they battled foul trouble for most of it. but, good teams always find a way. they hadn't won at Saint Joseph's arena since January 29, 2000.

the World Juniors finished up yesterday. Canada came from behind to win the goal medal over Russia, 4-3. Sweden defeated Finland 3-2 to win the bronze medal.

i did watch most of the Golden Globes last night as i was doing my laundry.

Power was really good last night. loved the ending.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Shameless was hilarious last night.

the time has come...

i was absolutely elated when the New England Patriots lost last night. at the very least, there will be a Super Bowl with someone different in it. and i do hope, one of those teams will be the New Orleans Saints. they play at home today against the Minnesota Vikings. hopefully, i will be a happy boy in a few hours.

both playoff games were excellent last night. i'm hoping both are today as well. in the second game today, Seattle is at Philadelphia.

Manchester United and Wolves finished 0-0 yesterday. that's a worst case scenario for both clubs as they now have to play the game again at Old Trafford.

the New York Rangers played better last night but lost in Vancouver, 2-1. i can't imagine that was a fun plane ride back to New York.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Power, Ray Donovan and Shameless. i'll probably be watching the Golden Globes for most of the evening.

the Dayton Flyers play this afternoon at Saint Joseph's. i'm hoping Dayton beats the shit out of them and gets part 2 of the Philly curse over with. they haven't won at Saint Joseph's in almost 20 damn years.

the final of the World Juniors is today as well. Canada takes on Russia for the gold. that should be interesting. Sweden takes on Finland for the bronze medal.

mom got these new sheets for our beds at Christmas. that was like wrestling a motherfucker last night getting those on her bed. i guess my bed is up for today. joy.

last Monday of the decade...

we had a massive cold front move through last night. i was miserable most of yesterday. it rained all damn day. today, it's nothing but wind and the cold weather coming back. joy.

USA defeated Russia yesterday at the World Juniors, 3-1. that's 5 straight victories over Russia. the USA plays the Czech Republic this afternoon in the final game of group play.

the New Orleans Saints defeated Carolina yesterday, 42-10. but, Green Bay and San Francisco both won, so the Saints are the #3 seed in the NFC playoffs. they play at home on Sunday against the Vikings.

the season finale of Dublin Murders last night was fucking excellent.

Shameless was hilarious last night.

Ray Donovan was very good last night.

i finally got to watch Us last night. i didn't find it really scary but it was a psychologically brilliant movie. Jordan Peele is a fucking genius.

enjoy some music:

when anger becomes hatred...

i knew Ohio State was playing with fire last night when the settled for field goals instead of touchdowns against Clemson. then add in the SEC officials (yes, i'm talking about you, you in-bred, backwoods, dumb fucks that should never be allowed on a football field again) and i had that awful feeling come up once again. that being said, Ohio State did have a chance to win the game in the final minute. Ohio State's wide receiver made a mistake and wasn't on the same page with the quarterback and well, fuck, everyone knows what happened next... Clemson 29 - Ohio State 23. to all the players either leaving early or graduating, thank you for your time at Ohio State. you will be missed. for the ones coming back, use the anger in your gut as fuel for next season. as for the officials in the game, especially the replay official, please fucking DIE.

in the other game, LSU fucking destroyed Oklahoma, 63-28. hopefully they will do the same thing to Clemson on January 13th.

the New York Rangers won in OT last night in Toronto, 5-4.

Manchester United won 2-0 yesterday.

ROH last night was another best of show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Dublin Murders, Shameless and Ray Donovan.

USA takes on Russia today at the World Juniors. Russia destroyed Canada yesterday, 6-0.

the New Orleans Saints finish up the regular season today at Carolina. if the Saints win and the Packers AND 49ers lose, then the Saints will be the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs. if only one of them lose, the Saints will be the #2 seed in the playoffs. if they both win, the Saints will be the #3 seed in the playoffs and take on the Vikings.

the rain started last night during my 4 hours of something resembling sleep. it's supposed to rain all day long and eventually turn over to some snow. joy.

the worm has turned...

when the New Orleans Saints got down 14-0 yesterday, i wasn't happy. thankfully, the team woke up in the second quarter and showed just how dangerous they can be in the playoffs. Michael Thomas set the NFL record for receptions in a season. he still has a game to go. the Saints won 38-28. right now, they are the 2 seed in the NFC playoffs. hopefully, the Vikings beat the Packers tonight and the Saints will be one step closer to that #1 seed.

the New York Rangers ended their losing streak yesterday with a dominating 5-1 win over Anaheim. they play tonight at Philadelphia.

Dublin Murders was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Ray Donovan was very good last night.

Shameless was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

like a punch to the dick...

let me preface this by saying, you should never lose a game that you had a 14 point lead in or get out rebounded like a boys team playing against men. that said, the way Dayton lost to Colorado yesterday was like a punch to the dick. the refs were fucking horrific. and i know i often complain about officiating, but normally it isn't the deciding factor in a game. yesterday was a different case. every possible call, either correct or judgment or just fucking make it up as you go along, went against Dayton. and to top it off, losing at the buzzer to a wide open 3 point shot to lose by 2 in overtime was salt in the fucking wounds. and to top it off again, Colorado's coach bitched after the game about so many Dayton fans at the game in Chicago. too bad the asshole coaches at a fucking school where no one cares about basketball because it's a football school. hopefully Dayton bounces back from this loss with an ass whipping tomorrow night at home.
https://daytonflyers.com/news/2019/12/21/dayton-mens-basketball-falls-in-overtime-to-colorado-at-chicago-legends.aspx

now let me get to the shit show that was Manchester United this morning. how is it even fucking possible to defeat Tottenham and Manchester City and then turn around and lose 2-0 to Watford. to fucking Watford. unfucking believable. just as i had some belief that this team was going to actually make the top 4 this season, they turn in a fucking horrible performance, on the road, and erase all fucking hope completely. thank god i fell asleep for some of it.

Saturday Night Live was fucking great last night. i laughed my ass off at all the old characters i remembered from my youth from Eddie Murphy. probably the best show of the season so far.

ROH was pretty good last night.

i did watch some of the college basketball games, NFL and NHL last night. after the Dayton game, all i really wanted to see was some fucking violence. at least the boxing last night gave me that.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Dublin Murders, Ray Donovan and Shameless.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at home against Anaheim. i would love to see them end their losing streak.

the New Orleans Saints play a tough road game today at Tennessee. i would be thrilled if the Saints got a huge road win today.

between the Dayton loss and Manchester United loss, my anger and stress is through the fucking roof at the minute. two more losses this afternoon and shit will be broken in no time.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday is even better.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. mom has physical therapy Monday afternoon. i have a basketball game Monday night. so, if my ass is up early enough, i might pound one out in the morning. i'm not even in the mood to think of that as dirty either.

and here comes the snow...

we got a couple inches of snow last night. there's supposed to be a couple more on the way this evening. i was thrilled to see that the driveway was already cleared when i got up this morning. and much to my surprise, the newspaper was at the front door. i wouldn't mind if that's the case tomorrow as well. mom has her injection at noon tomorrow and depending on the weather, i'm not sure how early we will have to leave. the roads were fine today for her physical therapy.

now for a little poetry news... i heard back from The Blake-Jones Review on the poems i sent last month. they decided to pass on them. i wrote 7 poems today while mom was doing physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i like most of them.

i did some cleaning around the house yesterday. mom was slightly shocked.

WWE TLC was pretty good last night. it could have been better, but i've been saying that for years now.

the season finale of Watchmen was fucking great last night. i seriously hope there is a season 2.

Dublin Murders was really good last night.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Shameless was excellent last night.
