the Yankees start their season today at home against the Brewers. other than the ton of injuries they had during spring training, i'm hoping the Yankees get off to a good start this season.

so, the adventure for toilet paper went well...
i had to go pick up mom's prescription at Kroger, so i was hoping to find toilet paper there. of course, there was none. so, i went to Meijer to try my luck there. of course, i was also going to look to see if they had any baseball cards and i needed some more sheets for the cards. amazingly, they did have some 2020 Topps Gallery and some 2020 Bowman Platinum. so, i got one pack of the Gallery cards, a hanger box of the Bowman cards, and a 2019 pack of Topps Opening Day for shits and giggles. plus, i got a pack of sheets that i needed. i also found the toilet paper, some paper towels and some Charmin wipes since everyone is fucking starting to hoard shit again. now, once i opened up the packs, that's when shit got really good.
the Topps Gallery pack had another Luis Robert rookie card in it. that's the second one i have pulled from one of those packs. now, the Bowman Platinum hanger box had 24 cards in it, guaranteeing 2 numbered cards and 2 icy parallels. i saw the first numbered card and i was pleased. and then, i looked at the second numbered card and nearly shit my pants. i pulled my first ever 1 of 1. and it's a Yankee minor leaguer to boot (Canaan Smith). i got that in a magnetic one touch immediately. i think i got a really good return on that money spent.
so yeah, this Saturday has been a good one so far.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

welcome to the house of depression...

The Masked Singer was pretty good last night. i knew who the Banana has been since his first performance.
What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.
AEW was really good last night.
NXT was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, the series finale of Will & Grace, Better Things, Cake, Desus & Mero, Total Bellas and Shelter in Place w/Shane Smith. i will probably watch the first round of the NFL Draft for most of the evening. i already watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was a look back on the great match between Walter and Tyler Bate.
thankfully, i got the newspaper and the mail before it started raining. what i got mom for Mother's Day showed up today. i'm hoping she's going to like what i got her.
mom got her stimulus check in the mail today. neither one of us can figure out why it didn't get directly deposited into her account, like her social security. but, we also both know there is not one competent motherfucker working in the government these days.
so, i think if the weather is better tomorrow, i'm going to take her to the bank to deposit that and then i'm going to swing by the crafts store so she can pick up what she ordered there.
i should be on here sometime after all that is done.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

not the news i wanted to hear...
i went to the grocery store today to pick up my medicine and get some shit we needed. the store was better stocked than the last time i was there. of course, they still didn't have much toilet paper or tissues, etc. and of course, you could imagine what i was looking for... i still managed to spend over $70 there.
VICE was excellent last night. i'm so happy the show is back on television, now on Showtime.
Homeland was really good last night.
Black Monday was pretty funny last night.
Westworld was fucking great last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
the iHeart Living Room Concert last night was really good.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The Plot Against America and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 284 of Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2020/3/30/notsam-wrestling-284-the-man-comes-around
i did see more masks on people when i was in the grocery store today. i think reality is slowly sinking in for everyone now.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and here comes the snow...
now for a little poetry news... i heard back from The Blake-Jones Review on the poems i sent last month. they decided to pass on them. i wrote 7 poems today while mom was doing physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i like most of them.
i did some cleaning around the house yesterday. mom was slightly shocked.
WWE TLC was pretty good last night. it could have been better, but i've been saying that for years now.
the season finale of Watchmen was fucking great last night. i seriously hope there is a season 2.
Dublin Murders was really good last night.
Ray Donovan was good last night.
Shameless was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Nashville. hopefully the boys will get a win.
the New Orleans Saints play their final home game of the regular season tonight against the Colts. the Falcons did the Saints a favor yesterday by winning out in San Francisco, so i'm hoping the Saints will win tonight and send the NFC playoffs into chaos.
i listened to episode 269 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2019/12/16/notsam-wrestling-269-x-pac
i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom gets her injection. i'm really hoping that goes well as she is fucking miserable with pain these days.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a busy day...
i did send out 30 poems today. 3 each to Rusty Truck, The Beatnik Cowboy and Mad Swirl; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and Rust Belt Review; 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
by the time i got that all done, it was 2 in the afternoon. mom wanted to go get her hair done. it was hot out and she doesn't do well in the heat. we waited for about 30 minutes and she finally got called up to get her hair done. about 30 minutes later she was finished. i guess it had been 34 weeks since she had anything done to her hair. i needed to go pick up a prescription of mine at the grocery store. after that, mom decided she wanted to go to Bob Evans for lunch. since we got out of there around 5, it might as well been dinner.
so yeah, it was one of these days where i'm running around like a chicken with the head cut off. good times. tomorrow might be more of the same. more on that later.
the New York Yankees lost last night in Toronto, 11-7. the bullpen shit the bed last night. hopefully they will avoid the sweep tonight.
here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA Finals:
NXT and NXT UK were good yesterday.
The Wrestlers was very good last night.
the USMNT lost to Jamaica last night, 1-0. there's 2 hours i'll never get back in my life.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Life in Pieces and Desus & Mero.
Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i will probably watch a good amount of that.
so, the WWE is doing Super Showdown tomorrow afternoon on the WWE Network. i think it's around 2 PM or so. my goal is to get the grocery shopping done in the morning so i have a reasonable shot at getting the blog done before the wrestling starts. of course, that also means i need to get to bed before 5 in the morning, which is sadly becoming my new normal.
so yeah, hopefully i will be on here around noon tomorrow and i will already have some shit done.
that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

shorts and snow flurries
i am sort of in shock that out of the 24 poems i sent out yesterday, 6 have been published, 13 have been accepted for publication, 2 have been rejected and 3 i am still waiting to hear back on. and most of those poems were poems i had written while in the waiting room of my mother's physical therapy. maybe i have some talent still left in this wreckage of a body.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
Smackdown was sort of just how hum until the end last night. i was somewhat shocked that they had Sami Zayn turn on Kevin Owens last night. it made sense from the point of this is the only way you could logically have Sami win and not have to have a title exchange hands. but, part of me thinks that should have been saved for the ppv this Sunday. now, god knows Sami won't be winning that match, but it would have been so easy to then set up a WrestleMania match between Kevin and Sami and have it feel somewhat fresh. when you have watched for as long as i have (basically 40 years now) this is what you do when watching. it's always how you think it would have been better. thankfully, there are still times when i watch when i think i couldn't have done that any better. when that stops, it's basically time for me to stop watching.
205 Live was excellent last night. i do like the matches they have set up for the semi-finals of the Cruiserweight tournament. Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong and Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali. those have the chance to be awesome.
Baskets was pretty funny last night.
Hate Thy Neighbor was really good last night. the whole show was about the border between Mexico and Arizona. it clearly showed how inept the government is. of course, none of them can be honest and just say they love cheap labor more than curbing illegal immigration.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i did watch some of the New York Yankees vs. the New York Mets this afternoon. the Mets were winning 4-1 at one point. the Yankees scored 10 runs in the last two innings to win 11-4. this could be a fun season ahead.
the New York Rangers ran into a better team last night in Winnipeg and it showed. the Rangers lost 3-0. that should bring them back down to reality. in my view, it was a good loss as i truly want them to tank the damn season and get a high draft pick. hopefully, that is what happens.
there was some blowing snow when i went out to get the paper this morning. of course, i was in a hoodie and some shorts. that cold air felt really good on my left leg. the wind was a different story though. thankfully, i had enough in the trash can and recycle bin that neither blew away.
i will be on here tomorrow after Dayton plays VCU in the A10 tournament. either i will be surprisingly happy or relieved that this damn season is finally over.
that's all for me kids.

not the start to the weekend i was hoping for...
i slept like shit last night. i woke up at 5 in the morning and had a poem right on the tip of my tongue. but i never could work out an ending, so i just said fuck it and tried to get some more sleep. i might have got 5 hours total. my sister, no matter what the circumstance is, gets 7 or more every fucking night. i think one of these mornings when she's here and i'm trying to be quiet while taking my blood sugar in the kitchen... i'm just going to poke myself hard enough that i scream. see if that wakes her up.
this road trip for the New York Yankees has turned into the road trip from hell. they dug themselves out of a hole last night, thanks to Aaron Judge and even took the lead. but, just like the last few days, the bullpen pissed away the lead and the Yankees lost again to a shitty Oakland team 7-6. hopefully they will end this damn losing streak this afternoon.
the 3 episodes of NJPW were excellent last night.
VICE was very interesting last night. i love that Russia thinks climate change is bullshit and is making sure they rape the planet until there is nothing left. no wonder Trump think climate change is a hoax.
Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be T.J. Miller: Meticulously Ridiculous and ROH.
i will probably watch a little of the Confederations Cup today, but not much of it.
mom is in her paranoid space once again, trying to clean the house before the house cleaners come. if anyone ever wonders why the fuck i'm crazy, right there is exhibit fucking A.
i think my sister is taking care of dinner tonight. sadly, that means nearly every dish and utensil in the house will need to be washed afterwards. joy.

so winter decides to show up when the clock goes forward...
i just find it a bit ironic that we "spring" forward on the clocks tonight and in less than 48 hours it's supposed to be fucking cold and blanketed with snow. welcome to Ohio.
i didn't enjoy seeing the news today that Henrik Lundqvist will miss 2 to 3 weeks for the New York Rangers. it's not that i don't believe in their backup goalie, it's that he's going to miss time right as the fantasy hockey playoffs begin. just my fucking luck.
Vice was excellent last night. i loved the shots from Siberia and the very interesting way they are fighting back against global warming.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Perfect in '76 was a fluff piece on the Indiana basketball team that went 32-0 and won the national championship in 1976.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH and Jerrod Carmichael: 8.
i will probably watch some college basketball tonight, but probably only a few minutes here and there. hopefully there are no upsets. that will increase the chances of the Dayton Flyers actually making the tournament on 2 straight losses.
i figure i might do some writing later today as well. i've got a couple phrases swimming in my head that need to get out of the fucking pool.

some demons you can never escape
i get the feeling that i'll be writing some poems tonight.
the New York Yankees got a walk off home run from Tyler Austin to win 5-4 last night. that's 5 wins in a row and now 9 games over .500, all highs for the season. they are only 2 games out of a playoff spot now. hopefully this crazy and unbelievable run keeps going tonight.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Natalie was evicted and Corey is the new HOH. it will be very interesting to see who goes this week.
Better Things was fucking hilarious last night. i had to record it twice because of the fucking storms that rumbled through here last night. it was worth it. i highly recommend this show on FX.
Fuck, That's Delicious was great last night. i know i'll never get to Perth, Australia, so it was very interesting to watch.
the NFL game last night was basically a tale of two halves. Carolina dominated the first half and then ran out of gas. Denver won 21-20.
the TNA Impact match last night between The Hardys and Decay was a waste of fucking time. it was nowhere near as good as The Final Deletion.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters. i might watch some of the World Cup of Hockey exhibition game as well tonight.
mom wanted to go out today but she thinks she twisted something in her back, which isn't good. i've told her to take her pain pills with a shot of whiskey, as that would give it that extra kick she probably needs. she always says after that that i'm trying to kill her. i explain no, i need you to die of natural causes so i don't get fucked out of the will.
tomorrow is going to be a clusterfuck to say the least. the day will start off with the Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester Shitty. that will be on early in the morning. after that, i have to take mom to the chiropractor and then my sister should be coming down sometime around noon. i'll be on here after all that and hopefully before the Ohio State game against Tulsa.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. take it easy and then take it again.

away goes the humidity and in comes the football
the New York Yankees were down 4-0 last night and i figured, fuck, so much for this. amazingly, they clawed their way back to even the game and eventually won 5-4 in 13 innings. thank god rosters can expand now as i know that pitching staff is tired as hell. they are 2.5 games out of a playoff spot again. they are off tonight and start a series at Baltimore tomorrow. it should be a very interesting month.
Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'll be stunned if Michelle isn't evicted tonight.
Tyrant was really good last night. the season finale looks like it is going to be crazy. You're The Worst was fucking hilarious last night. i absolutely love this show.
NXT was basically just a showcase for Shinsuke Nakamura. the CWC last night was really good. i was a little surprised Akira Tozawa lost. the match between Brian Kendrick and Kota Ibushi was excellent.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Fuck, That's Delicious and the season finale of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. of course, Big Brother won't be on until 1 in the morning because of preseason football, so i'll be following on the internet to see what happens.
one more video for shits and giggles:
i highly recommend listening to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. the interview with Gallows and Anderson is fucking hilarious. you can find it by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/9/1/wrestling-podcast-97-gallows-anderson-live-in-nyc
i will probably have to go to the grocery store after i take mom to the chiropractor as we're low on bread and milk, etc. i suppose i should take a shower before i venture out into public, so that's all for today kids.
i hope this new month finds everyone in a good place.

gettin' shit done
i always love going to the bank. i always love the looks on the faces of all the black people in there when they see a hairy fat white fuck come in, usually with a couple checks and a few rolls of coins. the funny part to me is none of them probably know i grew up in this black town and have always felt fine around anyone.
i wrote 2 poems this afternoon. i typed them up and i really, really, like them. i figure they will be part of my next round of submissions, probably in the next week or so.
as for the Trump thing, i read the story today that he wants his VP to do all the work; the long hours, the meetings, the hard work of getting assholes to do what you want, etc. so, he really doesn't want to be President, he just wants to be called that. i believe that is what you call a King. so, if this country truly wants to undo the Declaration of Independence, so be it. but, i will be moving. probably not to Canada either. i'm thinking somewhere in Costa Rica where i can at least get decent wi-fi so i can still blog and post pictures.
the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore last night, 7-1. they have won 6 out of their last 9 games and have picked up exactly 0 games in the wild card race. hence why i believe they should start trading off everyone they can. they aren't making the playoffs this season. they play the Orioles again tonight.
Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night.
Smackdown was pretty interesting although, i didn't like most of the draft. to have Kevin Owens drafted as late as he was was truly a fucking insult. now, i do like that him and Sami Zayn will continue to FIGHT FOREVER. also, a night without John Cena is music to my ears. Finn Balor finally got called up from NXT. i think Raw easily "won" the draft as it looks like Smackdown is top heavy (Cena, Styles, Ambrose, Wyatt) and will become the feeder show for Raw once again. hopefully i'm wrong on that. it should make for an interesting ppv this Sunday.
enjoy some music:
and now this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Lucha Underground and Tyrant. i'll be watching NXT and the Crusierweight Classic on WWE Network. of course, all of that is on at the same time.
the humidity today is ridiculous. and sadly, it's only going to get worse. i'll be in the air conditioning trying to stay cool for the next 4 days or so.
i did get some music on iTunes today. sometimes you hear something on the radio and you can't get it out of your head. the good thing about listening to a college radio station sometimes is you discover a band you have never heard of before. you'll clearly see that example below in the music section.
i hope everyone is keeping cool. the dog days aren't far off it seems.

i was looking forward to the weekend
i haven't even begun to think about what to write about what happened in France yesterday. sadly, i don't think anything shocks me anymore. i've been immune to death for almost my whole life now. in this rinse/repeat cycle we live in now, it just shows how disposable we as humans truly are in the eyes of other humans. we've already fucked over the planet, now it's time to get what's left.
i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts' Show podcast this afternoon. Sam talked about the incident in France. you can find it by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/srshow-nice-france-terror-attack-reaction
Big Brother did have the surprise eviction last night. but, the ladies forgot they have to win the next HOH to have the plan work. whoops. so, basically, nothing got accomplished. that certainly sounds like reality.
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was hilarious last night. i really like this show.
last night was the final taped Smackdown for the time being. the show will be moving to Tuesday nights next week. that should make things a little more interesting. i did like the show last night, mostly for KO and Seth Rollins winning.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters.
the New York Yankees start the second half of the season tonight at home against Boston. i read a report today where it said the GM of the team wants to start trading players away but the owner and team vice president thinks they can still win and want to trade away young talent to get better players for now. no wonder the team fucking sucks this season. hopefully, since they are playing 3 of the better teams in baseball on this homestand, they go on a nice losing streak so the non baseball people in the organization can see the benefits of selling at the deadline.
i saw the New York Rangers signed 3 more players today. they still have 2 big restricted free agents to sign. i like how they have really made the bottom six forwards much better. that should definitely help the penalty killing next season.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. i'll post the link below in the music section.
i don't have any big plans over the weekend. i imagine i'll have to take mom to the grocery store at some point and hopefully, get some writing done.
i hope all of you have a great weekend.
