 we had storms roll through here last night. the wind was really bad. i brought the recyclables in so i wouldn't spend the morning picking them up everywhere. i took them back out at 7 this morning. i found it a little interesting that no one else had and still hasn't put anything back out. part of me wonders if the fuckers picked up the shit during the storm last night or people just decided fuck it, wait until Thursday. 

the New Orleans Saints lost at home yesterday to the Raiders, 25-10. i'm really hoping the Saints just blow everything up after this season and start over. 

team USA lost to Finland in OT yesterday, 4-3, at the World Juniors.

The Agency was very good last night.

got my new glasses...

 so, i did make it to the eye doctor today to pick up my new glasses and sunglasses. the glasses fit way better than my previous pair. also, i am blind as fuck. hopefully, i will try out the sunglasses soon. it has been cloudy as fuck here today.

well, there's a $1,000 i didn't expect to spend...

 i took a shower last night and my pain was at a level where i knew i needed to sleep in my massage chair with ice just about everywhere. i got close to 4 hours of sleep. ok, not bad. i got a few naps this morning before i had to go to the eye doctor. i let her know that i really haven't noticed much of a change with my eyes. well, the exam showed something different. there was enough of a change that she said i needed new glasses. oh joy. the woman working with me to find the new glasses was excellent. i told Emily my concerns with the ones i currently have and she brought back 6 different ones that fit me great. so, i tried them all and decided on two that fit the best that would be my new glasses and new sunglasses. the second pair would be 50% off, which i was happy about. so, after adding up everything and the co-pay for the exam and everything... $1,100.50. well, fuck me. the first thought i had while pulling out my credit card was i wonder how much i could get for a kidney. as i told my mother when i got back home, i believe i am at the point of life where i need to have the financial discussion of does it make more sense to live or die. i should have the new glasses in 2 weeks.

i also got a new phone case today. my old one was falling apart. thankfully, the new one is really simple and durable. and about $30 cheaper than the one i had before. joy.

the Yankees lost last night at Texas, 10-6. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at the Cubs. the Cubs by the way threw a combined no hitter last night. great.

Big Brother was good last night. i have no damn clue who gets evicted tonight.

AEW Dynamite was good last night. unfortunately, i have watched wrestling long enough that i saw the "arson" angle coming way before it actually happened.

goodbye to june...

 hard to believe today is the last day of June. i went to bed last night before 2 AM. sadly, all that means anymore is i will be up by 6 AM. sure enough. at least my blood sugar was lower. i got the notice in the mail yesterday why the Rybelsus was denied. apparently, just because a drug is unavailable, doesn't mean you can change over to the another drug in the same class. apparently, the insurance is ok with me going without my medicine and just get so bad you have no choice but to go on insulin for the rest of your life. fuck me.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 9-3. hopefully, they will split the series today.

the Euro 2024 matches yesterday were good. Switzerland defeated Italy 2-0 and Germany beat Denmark 2-0. today England plays Slovakia and Spain takes on Georgia.

i did watch some of the Copa America games last night. Argentina beat Peru 2-0 and Canada and Chile played to a 0-0 draw. that means Argentina and Canada both advance to the knockout rounds. today, Mexico plays Ecuador and Jamaica takes on Venezuela.

at least the humidity went away...

 i was actually able to open up the house today. a nice cool breeze this morning was flowing through. i got some more horrible sleep. sadly, i am used to it. i did get the house vacuumed today. that took a toll on my back. i was hoping a really good shower would help that. it didn't.

the Yankees won again last night, 8-5, at home against the Twins. the only thing that ruined the victory was the injury to Juan Soto. turns out it is just some elbow inflammation he has been dealing with for the last 10 days or so. so, a few days off and he will (hopefully) be fine. they start a series tonight at home against the Dodgers.

so damn busy today...

 it feels like i have been going since i woke up at 8:45 this morning. i took mom to her dental appointment that lasted for almost 2 1/2 hours. while in the waiting room, i wrote 6 poems and made 2 hockey bets. (more on the gambling later). after she was done, we went to Arby's for lunch. i watched a little of the Champions League and then typed up the 6 poems i wrote. i think they are pretty good. one i think is damn good. after i got those typed up, i went to go get a haircut. first time i ever got my hair cut by an Asian woman. i'm not sure how much English she spoke, but she did like the $10 tip on a $18 haircut.

well, i did make some money...

 i thought the Super Bowl was pretty good last night. if it wasn't for that late holding call against the Eagles, i think the game would have gone down as an instant classic. i was about 1 yard away from making twice as much as i did last night, but the Eagles wide receiver who i needed to score went out of bounds at the one. i made $70 last night. if he scored a touchdown there, i would have had another $86. i looked at my mother and just laughed, welcome to the world of gambling. the Chiefs beat the Eagles last night, 38-35.

 so, i got up early today to get the Highlander into the dealership. i got there at 7:55. i thought that was pretty good for running behind this morning. of course, i was one of 5 vehicles that pulled in at the same time. thankfully, the Highlander was done a little before 10. and the price was lower than the estimate, so it was only around $700. 

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night. i hate that they fucking changed Pete Dunne's name to Butch. and Big E breaking his neck was scary as fuck to see.

here we go again...

 so, i called Rite Aid today to have some of my prescriptions refilled. when i started to name a couple of them, the woman on the phone asked me if there was any refills listed on the bottle. when i said yes, she was like oh shit. so, i guess Kroger didn't give them all my prescriptions when my prescriptions got moved to Rite Aid from Kroger. i gave her the number to the Kroger pharmacy and i basically went to my chair and just sat in disgust. i guess between anger, pain and depression, i more or less just passed out in my massage chair. 3 hours later i woke up and was curious what the fuck had happened. so, i basically slept through the big NBA trade today. oh well. i suppose i should call Rite Aid tomorrow and see what the fuck is up with my prescriptions. good times.

i did watch a little of the USA men's hockey team this morning. they defeated China 8-0. the USA women play Czech Republic tonight in the quarterfinals.

another week begins...

 it rained overnight here. i wondered why i woke up with pain at 7 this morning. another 4 hours of sleep. when it gets really bad, i end up napping most of the morning. and when that happens, i don't get around to doing anything (like shopping, going to the bank, etc.) until after 2 PM. i just love dealing with school buses these days. the bank i normally go to was closed for some fucking reason. i had to get mom some snacks she likes at Big Lots. then i had to travel to the next town over to go the bank. i said fuck it, and stopped at the Rite Aid to get some baseball cards. i paid $5 for a Fairfield box and it had roughly $25 worth of cards in it. that works for me. and then i had to get gas as i was under 1/4 of a tank. thankfully, i had a $1 off a gallon at Kroger, so i was able to get gas for under $2 a gallon. that made me happy.

the Yankees won yesterday at the White Sox, 5-3. they start a homestand tonight against the Angels in a make up game from earlier this season. hopefully, they will win.

 it stormed like a motherfucker this morning. my arthritis was jumping for joy. we got 1.8 inches of rain. glad i didn't water the tomatoes this morning when i woke up a little after 6. 

the grocery stores were painful today. i got everything i could remember and what was in stock on the grocery list. i get the feeling i will be going out on Friday to get what i forgot/wasn't available. by the time i got home this afternoon, 4 hours after i left this morning, i felt like i needed to put a gun in my mouth. i did get some baseball and football cards today. both were Fairfield boxes. i got both for $9 and there was over $20 worth of cards out of both boxes. 

Bill Cosby is a reminder to everyone, it never fucking matters the crimes you commit. if you are rich, you will get off one way or another in this country.

holy shit, the Yankees won last night. they finally got some big hits and defeated the Angels last night, 11-5. hopefully, they will find a way to win again tonight.

mom had a nurse out here this morning. i guess i'm supposed to take her blood pressure at a different time now. they can't figure out if she's on too many drugs or if the readings are false positives in a sense. mom did admit to me last night that she's interested in smoking medicinal marijuana at some point in all of this. i just looked at her and asked where the fuck was this version of you when you actually needed it? i know one thing, if she's smoking it, i will be as well.

i guess Manchester United finally landed Jadon Sancho. hopefully that will be the first of a few desperately needed impact players coming to the club this summer.
