so, today has been a bit crazy for me. we had some rain overnight, so my arthritis was crazy. even a weed gummy didn't help last night. when the rain finally ended this morning, i went to the bank to make a deposit. after the bank, i had to go to Kroger to get a prescription. apparently, my old Glimepiride prescription never got taken off, so they filled both 1mg and 4 mg. (i take the 4 mg now, have been for months) that lets me know that Rite Aid was basically doing nothing when i was getting my pills there. i got back home and had a little lunch before the Manchester United game was going to start.
now, i have really liked the changes that Manchester United has made to the team and coaching staff so far. they still need to be more clinical in the final third, but i can at least hope that gets better as the season goes along. Joshua Zirkzee came in the second half and scored his first United goal and won the game, 1-0. if they can keep some clean sheets this season and win games, i will be happy. plus, i put a little money on Zirkzee when he came in the game. so, him scoring that goal was a welcome little surprise.
Big Brother was really good last night. Cedric got evicted. Tucker is the new HOH.
NJPW was pretty good last night.

today has been a busy one. between the trash, grocery shopping, going to the bank, humidity coming back like a motherfucker, school buses all around, etc... it was one of those days where i know i could easily just become an alcoholic and say goodbye to it all. what a thought...
i spent over $200 on groceries today and i somehow saved over $42.
the Yankees lost last night at Atlanta, 5-0. they will hopefully avoid getting swept tonight. they are currently 60-60 on the season. this is their worst record at this point of a season since 1995.

so, i was up at 6 this morning. i wanted to get up early and get my day going as i knew mom wanted to be up around 8 this morning. she is not a morning person at all and i barely am. thankfully, i think she was awake enough to have her online counseling session this morning. i shaved and showered and went to the bank today. after i made that deposit, i went to Big Lots. i got 5 packs of 2022 Topps Heritage for $30. i found some decent rookies in the packs and one short print. i'm still chasing a damn Julio Rodriguez rookie card.

it rained overnight here. i wondered why i woke up with pain at 7 this morning. another 4 hours of sleep. when it gets really bad, i end up napping most of the morning. and when that happens, i don't get around to doing anything (like shopping, going to the bank, etc.) until after 2 PM. i just love dealing with school buses these days. the bank i normally go to was closed for some fucking reason. i had to get mom some snacks she likes at Big Lots. then i had to travel to the next town over to go the bank. i said fuck it, and stopped at the Rite Aid to get some baseball cards. i paid $5 for a Fairfield box and it had roughly $25 worth of cards in it. that works for me. and then i had to get gas as i was under 1/4 of a tank. thankfully, i had a $1 off a gallon at Kroger, so i was able to get gas for under $2 a gallon. that made me happy.
the Yankees won yesterday at the White Sox, 5-3. they start a homestand tonight against the Angels in a make up game from earlier this season. hopefully, they will win.

i got most of the cards i put in sleeves this weekend in order last night. i got a couple of nibbles on some of my NHL cards. i'd love to see someone actually buy something.
ROH was pretty good last night.
the Yankees whipped the Red Sox again last night, 11-5. Clint Frazier has been playing his ass off sent he got called back to the team. of course, there just had to be another injury last night. DJ LeMahieu sprained his thumb and went on the injured list this morning. hopefully, the Yankees will win again tonight.

so, the woman behind me in line at the grocery store today totally reminded me of the woman i was madly in love with when i was 21. now i know it wasn't her, because that woman lives a couple thousand miles away now. but, holy shit, what a rush of memories when i saw her a few times in the store and then behind me in line. and as much as i thought about saying something, it was just as much a thought that god was totally fucking with me at this moment. i did manage to keep the groceries under $100, no thanks to the jackass that runs this country that still doesn't understand how tariffs fucking work.
i had a little writing session last night. i ended up writing 7 poems. i typed those up before i went to bed last night. i'm pretty sure most of them will be included in my next round of submissions, here in the next few days most likely.
the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them last night, losing to the Indians, 19-5. i'm happy that happened actually. it could be the wake up call they fucking need. i guess i'll know with how they play tonight.

anyone who has followed or had the misfortune to read this blog for any length of time knows my love of music. i was raised on it from the womb. the music of Motown was certainly a staple in my upbringing. and Aretha Franklin is a voice that i certainly remember from those early years. so, with her passing this morning, i have dug out the old songs and have been listening away. i'm an old soul, that's for sure. rest in peace to the queen of soul. there will certainly never be another one. now, the crazy thing to think about is Elvis, Aretha and Babe Ruth all died on August 16th.
the New York Yankees played like shit last night and lost to Tampa 6-1. and of course they lost on a night they could have made up a game on Boston. hopefully, the Yankees win today to win the series.
NXT was pretty good last night. i'm really looking forward to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 this Saturday. it should be amazing.
Lucha Underground was really good last night.
Big Brother was good last night. i can't believe Rockstar actually gave Tyler the correct answer, even as a mistake in the Veto competition. she should get sent to the jury tonight just on that alone.

i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. between the rain and my arthritis, it was pointless. maybe 3 1/2 hours at best. i've had longer naps in my life. so god knows at some point today, i will crash. i think coffee is the only thing keeping me awake at the moment.
i just had to get up and walk. i went into the front room and of course it's raining outside. mark my words, sometime before i die, i will live in a desert. be it sahara, death valley, gobi, mojave, wherever, it might be my only chance to escape this fucking pain.
i have never really been a big fan of Elvis. that is probably due to my father being a huge fan. most of the men in my family that i remember growing up were fans. hell, i remember one cousin dreamed of being an Elvis impersonator. it was probably then that i questioned if i was adopted or stolen from another family. thankfully, i'm not old enough to really recall 40 years ago today.
is anyone really surprised the President is racist? or is it just the typical old man no longer with a filter that actually thinks there is such a thing as a good Nazi? and the silence from the Jews in his inner circles is baffling to me. i guess money can buy every fucking thing in this country, including your fucking soul. enjoy the shit show ladies and gentlemen. you wanted it.
the New York Yankees held on to win last night, 5-4. i do like that Gary Sanchez is heating up. and Sonny Gray finally got some damn run support. but, it might be time to try someone else as closer. they play tonight at the Mets. oh joy, National League baseball.
Smackdown was sort of odd last night. i guess the company lost faith in Baron Corbin, having him cash in the Money in the Bank contract and then having Cena help him lose. i guess i know what that means for SummerSlam. all in all, it's kind of scary how much better Monday Night Raw is at the moment.
205 Live was pretty good last night.
Hard Knocks was pretty funny last night. i do love watching Tampa Bay lose.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking fantastic last night.

it is hotter than shit today. i think it is easily in the 90's. i never like these days. one, i sweat so easily it's ridiculous. two, the heat really fucks with mom's Meniere's disease.
i think it is supposed to storm tomorrow, so it figures that i'll probably have to go to the grocery store. i'll probably be on here after all of that.

mom has an appointment on Thursday for her back. so, hopefully we'll know soon what's up.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Chad Green last night and Aaron Judge proved my thoughts on him being the second coming of Dave Winfield might just be correct. the Yankees won 1-0. Green had 11 strikeouts 2 hits and no walks over 6 innings last night. Judge did something that no Yankee had ever done before. 3 games in the big leagues, 3 games with an extra base hit. his double drove in the only run last night. hopefully they can get another win tonight.
Monday Night Raw was rather boring last night, for the most part. i enjoyed Kevin Owens (as always), Brock Lesnar telling Heath Slater he didn't give a shit about his kids and that was about it. i really wish they would have saved Finn Balor's alter ego for SummerSlam. the crowd was quite dead for one of the coolest fucking things going today. i suppose that means Rollins will be winning on Sunday. stupid.

i guess this is what happens when the New York Yankees stop being relevant... the baseball season sneaks up on you. but. before i get to that rant...
welcome to the 6th day of National Poetry Month. today, i want to shine some light on the YouTube channel, Button Poetry. i came across this channel a few days ago and i have been completely blown away with the videos. below are 3 of those videos. do yourself a favor and subscribe to this channel today.
the New York Yankees lost today 6-1. i really stopped giving a shit when they got down 5-0. as much as i hope they have a great season, i also know that their cycle to win a championship is most likely over. the window has closed. now, i REALLY hope i am wrong in that assessment... time will tell. but, if the offense they got today is any indication, it won't matter how well they pitch this season.
thankfully, Manchester City lost to Crystal Palace so i can at least have a few laughs today.
the season finale of Shameless last night was great. i can't wait to see where the show goes next season. Happyish was pretty damn funny. i believe i will give that a show a try this season. and finally, Last Week Tonight was MUST SEE television. here's why:
tonight the live shows for The Voice starts. i will be putting those on the DVR while i'm watching Monday Night Raw. Chris Jericho is doing his podcast on the WWE Network tonight. even though his guest will be John Cena, i will watch it.
also tonight the New York Rangers take on the red hot Columbus Blue Jackets. hopefully the Rangers win as i would like a victory beer.
mom and i went to the farm today to take another batch of shit to charity. the wind was fucking horrendous today. mom fell down. thankfully, she didn't hit her head. but, i am keeping an eye on her. she's had concussion issues in the past. when we were at the farm, the auction people were putting up signs for the auction on May 6th. i think we both know the crazy shit will begin now. also, i told them that if they can sell my truck in the auction, feel free. they were interested when i told them it runs and has less than 100,000 miles on it. if they can get anything for that piece of shit, i will be thrilled. of course, it also means the farm better sell for a good number as i will need a vehicle. i don't think mom and i will survive long one just one. mom actually has a rental now. the dealership fucked up her new tires she was supposed to get today. hopefully that will all be done by tomorrow. as always, never a dull fucking day.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. if not, join the fucking club.

i decided i would take some time before i got on here this morning. i just love waking up at the crack of dawn... only to watch Manchester United lose. so much for any thought i had of having a good weekend.
i was happy that LvG gave some kids a chance this morning. i was happy with the goal Wayne Rooney scored to tie the game. but, to lose 2-1 to a team that has NEVER won a league game at Old Trafford... it just brings back up the horror show from last season. hopefully, this display allows the coaching staff and management to see that they need some players NOW.
continuing with shitty sports news, the Yankees almost bothered to show up last night, losing 5-0. that's five straight losses and it is increasingly apparent that they have quit giving a shit. at least some of them have. they play again this afternoon. i can't imagine me choosing to watch them. i might flip over from time to time.
Treehouse Masters was really good last night. if i ever get rich... hell, why the fuck do i bother to dream about such things?
The Knick was good last night. i'm interested to see how layers this story has. Clive Owen is brilliant in the show.
it's supposed to get hot and humid this weekend and supposedly rain. i figure if it does rain, it will be when i'm getting ready to go feed the animals outside.
i guess i should spend this weekend getting all my fantasy football shit ready. i'd really like to repeat my championship in the NFL.com league i won last season.
not sure what i'm going to be watching this evening on television. i do know i will be up for the ROH episode tonight. it will show the final ROH match for Kevin Steen. he's now signed with the WWE. hopefully, they don't fuck that one up. i'd love to see Steen get a real chance at the main roster.
hopefully i will be in a better mood come tomorrow. at least i am smart enough and old enough to know to not expect it.
hope this finds everyone well.

so i go into feed the cats today like i do everyday. a little after 12:30, after The Dan Patrick Show and The Box Score go off the air. i open the wood sliding door and who the fuck do i see... Gizmo 2.0. i haven't seen this cat in over 3 months. skinny as fuck and crying like no tomorrow. i couldn't get the food down fast enough. this breaks the record my cat Roscoe used to have for the longest time between appearances. Roscoe came back after 2 months. of course, he was missing a good chunk of his left side and within a week was dead. Gizmo 2.0 didn't have any battle wounds that i could see. but that wasn't the first bit of good news today.
i found out this morning my poem "when insanity meets the evening news" is going to be published in a Norwegian street paper (http://www.klar.as/) in the fall. first time i've ever been published in Norway. the poem was originally published at StrangeRoad.com.
i caught one hell of a wave last night and wrote all 14 poems i needed to write in about 90 minutes. i sent them to my artist friend in Sweden and he loved them. now, it is time to find a publisher.
mom found an internet feed of CBS last night from out of Canada, so i did get to see Big Brother. i laughed my ass off as everyone tried to give Amanda the HOH and she still couldn't win it. there should be some fireworks this week, as the time has finally come to get some good players out.
Wilfred was hilarious as always. any time you can get Dwight Yoakam involved, it's bound to be great. and to watch gag after gag last night was great.
the Yankees are in Boston tonight. i'm not sure how much of that circus i will be watching.
hopefully i will get to bed at a decent hour as the Premier League starts back up tomorrow morning at 7. thankfully Manchester United doesn't play until the afternoon.
i want to give a public thank you to Natascha Hoover for the package she sent me. always nice when you get some unexpected things in the mail. i'll be sure to mail you some things in the coming week. and for everyone reading this with their minds in the gutter, for once you are wrong. a book and some food. some tasty Hawaiian food at that. yummy.
hope everyone has a great weekend. looks like it is going to warm up here a little. maybe into the low 80's. i can't believe these are the dog days of summer. much better than the 90's with humidity like it normally is, i can tell you that.

so, after the huge trade the New York Rangers pulled off yesterday, i sat down last night to watch them play Pittsburgh. needless to say, i was a bit shocked at what happened. i would post video highlights but for some reason YouTube and Blogger are not working well with each other today. so, here is a game write-up from Andrew Gross. http://www.northjersey.com/sports/Rangers_trade_Marian_Gaborik_rout_Penguins_6-1.html?page=all
to think that Brassard and Moore arrived just 10 minutes before the warm-up and they both score. add to that Ryane Clowe scores his first 2 goals as a Ranger and those are his first 2 goals of the season. totally fucking unbelievable. hopefully the boys bottle this and play like that for the rest of the season. if they do, they will make the playoffs and i will be a very happy man.
on a meaningless side note, the Yankees lost last night 7-4. 2 games in and my belief hasn't changed. if this team can't pitch and hold the other team under 4 runs, they won't win. simple as that. now watch them go out tonight and prove me wrong. (another futile attempt at reverse psychology positive bullshit). i guess Travis Hafner and Vernon Wells hit their first Yankee home runs last night. i wouldn't know for sure as i probably only watched 10 minutes of the game at most.
the damn raccoon messed up one of the good bird feeders last night. hopefully the new repellent works. if it doesn't, i believe my sister recently took some firearms classes, maybe she would like to come down for some target practice. in case neither happens, i have replaced the good bird feeder with a 2 liter bottle held up on a string. i couldn't give 2 shits if they mess that one up.
the temps have warmed up a bit here today. thankfully. maybe the forecast for the weekend will be correct for once and it actually hits the 60's finally.
started reading More Notes of a Dirty Old Man: The Uncollected Columns by Charles Bukowski last night. so far so good.
the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Justin Chin.
i'm torn if i'm going to watch the Yankees lose again tonight or flip between a ton of hockey games that my fantasy players are on. i do know i will be watching The Big Bang Theory. other than that, i imagine it will simply be a mission to avoid commercials.
music today:

so i started off this weekend wondering has it really been 19 years since Charles Bukowski died? fuck, i feel old.
after watching the New York Rangers lose Friday night to Ottawa (who are somehow 12-1-1 in their last 14 games at MSG) i didn't have a very good feeling for the weekend.
i listened to the Dayton Flyers lose another heart breaker on the road and eventually back their way into the A10 tournament. i have never seen a team be so snake-bitten in my life. 0-7 in games decided by 3 points or less. and oh joy, on Thursday they get to play Butler. i will be shocked if they advance.
Saturday Night Live was excellent. of course, if you bring back almost 10 people or so, i guess it should be. i really enjoyed ROH on Saturday Night. i love how they are setting up this SCUM angle. although, it smells like a Kevin Steen face turn. i'm interested to see if they go that way. i have no doubts that Kevin is versatile enough to pull it off, just not sure if the fans will buy it or not.
so, after getting some trash picked up, cats fed, a little breakfast with my sister and mother, i sat down to watch Manchester United. a great first half that saw beautiful goals from Chicharito and Wayne Rooney. and then, a second half where they allowed Chelsea to control just about all 45 minutes and eventually tie the game. just fucking great. so, they now have to play Chelsea on the road in a few days. for some reason, the collapse of last season is suddenly creeping back into my head.
thankfully, as United was frustrating the living shit out of me, i could flip over and see the New York Rangers destroy the Washington Capitals. a nice 4-1 win that was really a matter of fact dominating victory. i didn't see the first 10 minutes that everyone said Washington was controlling the game, so technically i don't think it happened. another 5-5 week in fantasy hockey. at least no major injuries to deal with this week.
throw in a little golf, a little NASCAR, a little World Baseball Classic, MLS and another Miami Heat win and you can see i had a full sports pallet this weekend. not that i enjoyed much of it. i sometimes amaze myself at how much i hate losing.
really enjoyed the Sunday night shows. "Girls" really made me laugh. i enjoy this hipster generation and how i just couldn't care to understand it.
a late night dishes session, all done while listening to a little public radio and the rain starting to fall. and seeing how i can barely stand for more than 15 minutes at a time when my back is barking, the 30 minutes to do the dishes was just fucking lovely.
this fucking time change completely surprised me. not that losing a hour of sleep is a big deal to me. just seems to have thrown off my flow for some reason. of course, it could have been the temps near 65 degrees over the weekend. what the fuck is normal anymore?
