through a dense fog...

nothing like a thick ass fog to wake up to on the second day of 2017. of course, when it's near 50 degrees in January and the experts are saying there are thunderstorms coming, chaos should be expected.

the New Orleans Saints lost 38-32 yesterday to Atlanta. when Atlanta scored on their first 5 possessions, i stopped watching. nice of the Saints to make it close late, but a 7-9 record is probably exactly what this team deserved this season. it's sad, but they are wasting Drew Brees at this point. there has been 9 5,000 yards passing seasons in NFL history. Drew has 5 of them. as usual, on to next season.

i did watch a good bit of the outdoor hockey game yesterday between Toronto and Detroit. that was very entertaining. i watched a little of the Winter Classic today between Chicago and St. Louis as well. it looks like people still love these events.

i had seen Wishful Drinking before when it first came out on HBO, but watching it again last night was a mix of laughter and sadness. Carrie Fisher died way too early.

The Affair was great once again last night.

Manchester United got a gift in the 15th minute today against West Ham. a straight red card to a West Ham player for a foul that probably deserved nothing more than a yellow card at best. but, i'll gladly take it. with goals in the second half from Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimvoc (he was obviously offside but another horrible call that actually went United's way for a change) United won 2-0. with Liverpool dropping points today, United is creeping closer to the top 4 of the league. this the best run of unbeaten games for United since the days of Sir Alex.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

team USA takes on Switzerland in the World Juniors here in a little bit. a win for the USA and they will advance to the medal round, setting up another showdown with Russia. but, first they MUST beat Switzerland.

i may get a wild hair up my ass tomorrow and send out some poems.

i think i'm 99.9% sure this will be my last year in fantasy football. i did absolutely awful this year. now i'll probably still pick games, but the head to head days look to be over.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

when you get too much sleep

and the funny thing, you probably read that headline and thought, 10, 11 hours or something... no, i got roughly 6.5 hours of sleep and have been dragging all damn day. not even coffee could get me going. eventually, i did just kick myself in the ass and got on with the day.

i sent out 10 poems today; 5 each to Because Eileen and Misfit Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees finally got a win last night in a bench clearing, wild fucking game. they beat Toronto 7-5, although they nearly pissed away another game in the bottom of the 9th. thankfully, they are now home for the rest of the season. they start a series tonight with Boston.

apparently getting two straight games of great defense from the New Orleans Saints is simply too much to ask for. between the fucking injuries and piss poor tackling, Atlanta did whatever the fuck they wanted last night. the Saints lost 45-32.

i lost both of my fantasy football matches. the one that stung the worst was the one i lost by 1.37 points. my teams are now 0-3 and 1-2. i told my mother, if this keeps up, this might be the year i say goodbye to fantasy football.

i thought The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was the clusterfuck it normally is last night. i did like the cruiserweights getting a bigger spotlight last night. plus, Kevin Owens is pure gold. the feud with Seth Rollins has the chance to be fucking great. hopefully the powers that be don't fuck that up as well.

The Big Bang Theory was fucking hilarious last night.

Gotham was off the charts great. the show just keeps getting better.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, The Voice, Scream Queens and Atlanta.

i haven't heard yet what mom's MRI showed. i'm not even sure if she's called the doctor yet. she's mostly just been in bed all day long.

i have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me today kids.

i hope this finds everyone swimming in a pool of cash or liquor, whatever you prefer.

this fleeting mystery called life

so i woke up this morning to the news of Jose Fernandez dying in a boating accident. i was just talking about him a couple of days ago with some Yankees fans wondering what prospects the Yankees should give up to get him. just 24 years old and an electric arm. he didn't even make it to his prime, where he would have easily been one of the best pitchers in the history of the majors. my condolences to his family, his friends, his teammates and anyone who actually still loved the game of baseball.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 3-0. yet another game with just 3 hits. this was the first time they had been shut out 3 games in a row since 1975. thankfully, this season will be over soon.

i did flip around and watch some college football last night. i even watched a little UFC. but most of the evening was watching the Global Citizen Festival.

ROH last night was excellent. i'll never get bored of watching Adam Cole wrestle.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finales of Power and Ballers; The Strain, Masters of Sex and Last Week Tonight. i have no clue how much of that i will actually watch since i have to be up before the crack of dawn to take mom to get her MRI done.

also tonight, WWE Clash of Champions will be on WWE Network. i figure i will watch that, even though i'm sure the writers will find a way to fuck it up.

the New Orleans Saints don't play until Monday night, so i'll probably just flip between games today. mostly just watching the guys on my fantasy teams. i'm a slight favorite in one and a 60 point underdog in the other. good times.

the Taco Bell yesterday didn't destroy me, yet. although, i did take too big of a bite on some spicy cheese and oh shit, i thought death was coming my way.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i got 10 poems together to send out sometime in the next few days.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

there are some losses you never come back from

just put my last load of laundry in the dryer. i'm tired as hell, but i know sleep is not an option. i have pills to go pick up and whatever else i need to do before tonight comes along.

i am still in shock/total pissed off mode from the New York Yankees loss last night. it's not often that a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th with 1 out to go turns into a 7-5 loss to the fucking Red Sox. and probably since it was that team i have hated for most of my damn life that did it, it hurts even more. i'm tempted to not even fucking watch again this season. and if they finish just a game or so out of a playoff spot, i know exactly what fucking loss i will think of. fuck me. they play again tonight.

i did get the NFL game right last night, although starting the Jets defense did me no good.

Better Things was fucking hilarious last night. i really hope people are watching this show, it's really good.

i did watch some of the USA women's team defeat of Thailand 9-0 in a soccer friendly last night. it was the last match for Heather O'Reilly.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, NJPW, High Maintenance and Treehouse Masters.

i did write 3 poems last night while i was stewing in my anger. i typed those up this morning. i then went through my stack of unpublished work and i think i know where i'll be sending out the next 17 poems early next week.

i got Ben John Smith's latest chapbook in the mail today, Do You Know Who The Fuck I Think I Am?. it's fucking brilliant. here is a link to get a free pdf copy of it:

i believe mom has another appointment with the chiropractor tomorrow morning. so, i'll probably be on here sometime before Ohio State takes on Oklahoma tomorrow night.

eventually, i will sleep like a baby

i just found out some good news. the Dayton Flyers got a commitment from their point guard of the future just a little bit ago. from what i've seen, this is a guy that is going to become a star.
welcome to Dayton, McKinley Wright.

the New York Yankees could only manage 2 solo home runs last night against the Dodgers. that's not going to cut it. the Yankees lost 8-2. hopefully they will do better tonight.

i got my ass whipped in both of my fantasy football matches. the shitty thing was i scored over 100 points in both leagues and lost by 23 and 61. fuck me.

Monday Night Raw was sort of blah until the main event. Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens was great. they have obvious chemistry with each other. thankfully, KO won and will now have a singles match against Seth Rollins at the next ppv.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, WWE Smackdown and Atlanta.

at least mom was walking better coming out of the chiropractor's office than she was going in. the wheels are finally in motion to get a MRI sometime next week.

i went to the grocery store after i had lunch. i'm amused by the number of people that see me shopping and quickly either turn their carts around or quickly get out of the way. i really didn't think i had my pissed off face on today.

the trash is all picked up and already down at the curb. so the plan for the rest of the night is a nice long message in my recliner. my back is killing me today.

a decent way to start the season

i had to take mom to the chiropractor and then to the store to get her prescriptions, so i missed the start of the Ohio State game today. it's funny to think that Bowling Green was up 7-0 at one point when you see that Ohio State won 77-10. talk about a holy shit ass beating. Ohio State set the record for most yards in a game by any Ohio State team. the offense looked scary and talented. the defense looked talented and fast. the only thing that could possibly hold back this team will be their youth and health. should be another crazy ride this season.

the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them last night, losing 8-0. of course, it's hard to win when you only get two fucking hits. they play again tonight in Baltimore.

team USA whipped St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday 6-0. i was happy how they came out and took care of business. it was nice to see Christian Pulisic put on a show in the second half. i think he's the most talented teenager i have ever seen play for the USA. they next play Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.

Treehouse Masters was pretty good last night. i would hate to see what the guy had to get his wife for the 41st anniversary when a treehouse was the gift for the 40th.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH. i figure i will be watching a ton of college football tonight as there are some really good games. i figure most of the time i'll be watching USC vs. Alabama.

my second fantasy football team got drafted this morning. i got the second highest draft grade in the league. so, that's a good start. i'm pretty much ready for the NFL season now.

a reminder for life:

sadly, the humidity is starting to creep back in this weekend. i was hoping it was going to be fall soon. it's going to be back in the fucking 90's in a couple of days. good thing global warming is a myth, right?

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday night. call if you need bail money. i'm off to start drinking.

from a breezy day in the middle of nowhere...

the random nature of life at times has always mystified me. or perhaps life as individual for so damn long has simply deactivated my senses when it comes to some shit. i don't know. the grocery store yesterday was the perfect example. everyone with their faces stuck in their phones, either checking a list or talking to someone. and here i am, pen, paper and coupons. old school. the only people that look at me are children. i'm the one in their nightmares or the image their parents use as someone to avoid. i suddenly remember why i stopped doing this shit back in the day. of course, now i have no choice. and usually anytime i start to think about being alone i remember the story about the guy on the online dating site that got killed using it. that's when i know that i can't win at this. so why bother playing the game?

i took mom to the doctor this morning. she's going to be off for another 2 weeks, at least. if she doesn't start to show signs of improvement soon, she's going to get a MRI to see what else is going on. good times.

i watched Big Brother last night on an illegal feed out of Canada i found on the computer. the show pretty much went as i expected. Michelle got evicted and Victor is the new HOH. i'll be stunned if he doesn't put up James and Natalie.

the season finale of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was excellent last night. season 3 should be pretty interesting given all the possible directions it could go in.

i also watched the documentary Springsteen & I last night. i haven't been able to ever see The Boss in concert, so it was cool to see all the old footage.

Fuck, That's Delicious was hilarious last night. i love when they take the show into the hidden parts of big cities, especially in a place like Australia where i highly doubt i'll ever get to go to.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Treehouse Masters.

2 out of the 3 fantasy football moves i wanted to make came through for me this morning. i like my team a little better now.

team USA plays St. Vincent and the Grenadines in World Cup Qualifying today. this is a MUST win game for team USA. given all the injuries and absences, i'm very interested to see how they play. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer later.

the New York Yankees start a series in Baltimore tonight. just like last weekend, these might as well be playoff games.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after Ohio State plays Bowling Green. i'm really excited to see how all the kids play on Ohio State this season. they have the lowest number of returning starters in the country.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. if you happen to be in the USA, enjoy your holiday weekend. as for all the Russians that visit this blog, enjoy your vodka.

these are the days i look forward to death

so i was on the computer this morning and an instant message pops up from the last woman i was in love with. she always had an amazing way to make sure i knew everything was my fault and i would never be good enough for her. she went on today talking about how she lost all respect for me because of something i said in an argument we had... fuck it had to be months or damn near a year ago. having learned my lesson, i said i'm sorry and changed the subject. but, as you can imagine, i've spent the day writing and wondering why the fuck do i have this life.

these are the days where i feel like it's inevitable i will die alone one day. stacks of books and poems and music all around me. my luck, none of my future drug addictions will kill me, it will simply be father time. an old bitter soul. of course, the way this country is going, eventually everyone is going to be required to have a gun, so i guess there's always hope.

i wrote 3 poems and typed them up this afternoon. i really like them. i also found a new place to send work to. that will probably happen either really late tonight or sometime before the damn weekend.

my first fantasy football draft went ok. i got a decent quarterback and some good wide receivers, so that should be a good base for the team this season. of course, if Drew Brees has a shitty season, i'm fucked.

i thought Smackdown was pretty good last night. their upcoming ppv looks like it is going to be a good one.

Hard Knocks was pretty damn funny last night. between the spelling bee and the one fucker not believing in dinosaurs, every cliche about football players is fucking true.

the New York Yankees won a wild ass game last night, 5-4 in 10 innings. the Yankees left a small village on base and went a ridiculous 2 for 16 with runners in scoring position. somehow, two shakier than shit relievers got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 10th to win the game. hopefully they can get the series win tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Tyrant and the return of You're The Worst. i'll watch NXT and CWC on WWE Network at some point tonight.

we had some heavy rain come through here today, which didn't exactly brighten my mood.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade late last night from the very underrated Nicole Atkins. i'll post the links down in the music section.

i've spent most of the day trying to get used to the new Google+. i'm not a fan so far.

check out Janne Karlsson's new blog here: http://nouw.com/svenskapache
i'm so happy i can call this great artist a friend.

hard to believe this damn month is over basically. i know the weather is supposed to be good here for the weekend. i'll believe that when i see it, especially since it's a holiday weekend.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow, before i have to take mom to the chiropractor.

another long day

i knew i wanted to get the grocery shopping done before the storms come tonight. but, i had no clue mom was going to hand me a scroll of items to go get. amazingly, i did manage to keep it under $100 (thanks to some coupons). i didn't take much time to enjoy the scenery today at the store. it's too damn hot and humid today. i wouldn't be shocked if we don't have some strong storms tonight.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 5-0 over Seattle. a great outing from Tanaka and Gary Sanchez went deep again. he even got walked intentionally twice later in the game. looks like someone is going to be a star. the Yankees are off today and start a series at home against Baltimore tomorrow.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i think Victor will get voted out tonight and then either him or Paulie will walk right back into the house when the jury come back competition happens tonight. it should be interesting.

Tyrant was great last night. the old adage is always true: absolute power always corrupts.

NXT was mostly some highlights from Takeover Brooklyn II and the two dark matches before the event. it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.

the CWC was spectacular last night. all 3 matches were great. they are now down to the final 8. i don't think there will be a less than fucking awesome match from here on out. Tozawa vs. Gran Metalik, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Noam Dar, Brian Kendrick vs. Kota Ibushi and TJ Perkins vs. Rich Swann. 4 amazing matches. i can't wait.

well, i got my fantasy football shit all lined up this morning. i even got some early fantasy hockey shit going.

the birthday gift i got my sister should be here in the next couple of days. i think she's going to like it.

i saw this today and thought it was rather appropriate:

i saw the New York Rangers made a very smart depth move today, signing Brandon Pirri. yet another guy with something to prove with plenty of speed. that's one thing they shouldn't lack this season, if they stay healthy. they have speed on every line now.

that's all for me kids. i really need to take a shower. i've been up since before 7 this morning as mom had an early appointment at the chiropractor's office.

until we meet again.

oh great, more rain on the way

i was going to do my laundry today but my arthritis had different plans. great.

mom doesn't like to take pain pills. silly woman has lived 63 years and hasn't really done any drugs to expand her brain. so she doesn't like to feel "loopy". poor thing. she didn't take the pill last night and got 3 hours sleep and is now miserable. hindsight in action.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from CC last night, amazingly, and won 5-1. they play this afternoon in Seattle. hopefully they win and get even closer in the wildcard chase.

Smackdown was great last night. i loved the Carmella heel turn. the match between AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler was great. the post show tirade from The Miz completely going off on Daniel Bryan was BRILLIANT. all in all, maybe the best show that has been done since the brands split.

i did watch the Deadliest Catch update last night on Captain Sig's health since his heart attack. i'm so damn glad i gave up smoking when i did.

Hard Knocks was really good last night. i guess i really need to get my fantasy football shit together, the fucking season is going to start soon.

goodbye to the ace of spades

i was scrolling around the internet last night and came across the news. it's not that i was shocked that Lemmy had died. god knows he has looked like death for the last 20 years. it's that i just never thought the fucker would go. one of the nicest humans ever and truly an inspiration to me the day i picked up a bass guitar. i remember the first time as a child i heard Ace of Spades. that was a song that never left my brain. born to lose live to win. thanks for giving all of us outsiders a place at the table.

i picked the NFL game right last night. i did end up getting 5th place in my NFL.com league. and it became official today, i did win both of my CBS Sports fantasy football leagues.

Monday Night Raw was ok last night, at best. i did enjoy The New Day, Kevin Owens beating the shit out of Neville and Dean Ambrose, but too much of the show was just pointless.

Breaking Ground on WWE Network was really good last night. it's amazing how just about everything with NXT is great and everything else could be so much better.

the New York Rangers played a decent 40 minutes last night. for some reason, in the third period they decided to shit the bed. a 1-1 game was suddenly 5-1 in a matter of minutes. i turned it off there as i have seen them lose too much already this season. the final score was 5-3, but the game with Nashville was never that close. they next play at Tampa on Wednesday. thank god i'll be at a basketball game.

here's some this and that for you:

not sure what i'm going to be watching on television tonight. i know i got a good nap in this afternoon watching some soccer. so i'll probably be up late.

that's all for me today. i need to get the trash picked up here and next door (my uncle is home by the way) and figure out what's for dinner.

i hope everyone is enjoying something. whatever that is is your business.

and just when i thought this day was going to be nothing but rain

i got up this morning and it was pouring outside. raining cats and dogs as they say. for a second, i thought it was going to get biblical. it's been like that nearly all day. it will pour for 45 minutes or so and then quit. and then start back up 20 minutes later and rain for 90 minutes. we have to be around a couple of inches so far. i've got done a decent job of keeping my adrenaline up for most of the day so i don't even think about how much pain i should be in. but if this shit keeps up, agony will hunt me down this evening.

i was up in time to watch team USA take on Sweden this morning in the World Juniors hockey tournament over in Finland. the boys had all the fucking chances in the world, but when you go 0 for 8 on the power play and can't get any of your 46 shots past the goalie, you're not going to win. the USA lost 1-0. they next play on Wednesday against Switzerland.

that was over in time for me to get my mind ready for Manchester United vs. Chelsea. United hit the post twice in the first half. they missed two glorious chances in the second half. they clearly played better today, but that's 8 fucking games in a row without a win. something has to change.

and just when i thought my day was going to be shit, the New York Yankees came to my rescue. i can't believe they traded for Aroldis Chapman from the Reds. that will give the Yankees one of the nastiest bullpens to ever grace the planet earth. and the best thing is they gave up next to nothing to get him. they kept all their top prospects. thank you for the belated Christmas gift Brian Cashman.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i got pretty much what i wanted out of the New Orleans Saints game yesterday. the Saints won 38-27. Blake Bortles threw 4 touchdowns, which helped me greatly in fantasy football. plus, i do believe it might end up being the last time Drew Brees plays as a Saint at home. so it was nice to see him go out and play like the old Drew Brees.

speaking of fantasy football, while nothing is official yet, i'm pretty damn sure i won both of my championship matches. that will end up being my 7th and 8th championships for fantasy football. i have a 27 point lead in my 5th place game going into tonight in my NFL.com league. my opponent has Denver's quarterback tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Nashville. they are hopefully well rested and ready to go tonight.

i'm interested to see what happens on Monday Night Raw tonight as John Cena makes his return to the show. hopefully he gets his ass kicked again.

as you might imagine, my remote control will be getting a workout tonight flipping between hockey, wrestling and football.

i guess my uncle is back home now. they had to rush him to the hospital yesterday as he was not keeping anything down. they sent back to the nursing home last night once they got all that calmed down. it's all due to him not drinking enough fluids and since he doesn't do that, the side effects to the chemo is even greater. i think the nursing home released him just so they wouldn't have to deal with the family anymore. that being said, i won't be shocked if the phone rings sometime before 6 in the morning in the next few days with some bad news from next door.

i think i'm going to try to stretch out some and ice my back down. this rain just murders me anymore.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. hard to believe that 2015 is almost done.

and the pain in your left food goes back more than 20 years

i woke up to the sounds of thunder this morning. that made me quickly know why i was in pain. but, i did get a poem out of it, so there's that. i typed it up after i took a shower this morning. i really like it. my sister made breakfast and took some to my uncle this morning. i guess his blood sugar went way down this morning and my mother had to go racing over to the nursing home with some glucose pills, which apparently the nursing home didn't have. how that is even fucking possible is beyond me. i'm sure my sister didn't think she would be dealing with this shit today. i suppose she really can't wait to pack her car and get the fuck out of here. i don't blame her.

i watched most of the NFL game last night. i had the tight end from the Eagles. if he wouldn't have had that damn fumble, i would have been very happy. i did pick the game right though. today is going to be an interesting one. i will know by late tonight if i win any fantasy football championships this season. i have a lead in both of the finals i'm in.

i'm in a bit of a pickle though. i will always root for my New Orleans Saints but today they are facing the quarterback (Blake Bortles) i have starting for both of my teams in the finals. that should tell you how god awful the Saints defense has been this season. if the Saints could win but in a crazy fucking shootout where both teams score in the 40's, i'll be thrilled.

ROH last night was a best of the year show. it was mostly highlights of matches ROH did with NJPW and the great match between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe. all in all, a great hour of pro wrestling.

nothing on the DVR tonight so i imagine i will either be watching football or catching up on shit on the DVR i haven't watched yet.

i treated myself to a gift last night. i bought a Stephane Matteau autograph picture from Steiner Sports. i've got an idea of where i'm going put it. i got these hockey pucks that are nightlights that are made to look like they were shot through the wall. i figure i will put a light on both sides of the photo, probably right above my door. i figure that would be a nice place to highlight a moment from the best game of the 1994 playoffs. and to think i got it for under $60 with shipping.

i got a couple of songs from NoiseTrade the other day. i'll put those links down in the music section.

i think a cold front is getting close to the area now. the pain in my left foot is from the scar tissue from when i broke it back in 7th grade. and that only radiates like this when a massive cold front is coming. maybe it will actually start to feel like winter soon.

i hope this finds everyone escaping the holiday blues and enjoying a soothing drink of something strong.

the eve of something

i was certainly hoping today was going to be a good day. but given the storms last night and my inability to ever get comfortable in my bed, i've been a cranky fuck all day long. my right hip is killing me today. i've decided not to put anything on it and just accept the pain. this is most likely a sign of impending insanity. so be it.

today was another morning where i was racing to the toilet after eating breakfast. i decided not to take any Imodium after this one, as i doubt that shit does anything good for my intestines. plus, i've made my chili for dinner tonight, so why would i want to block all the glorious shit coming from that?

WWE Tribute to the Troops last night was ok. i wasn't expecting much and that's exactly what i got. NXT was pretty good. it was nice to see Sami Zayn back in action. plus, 2016 should be the year that Chad Gable and Jason Jordan make some huge strides. they are amazing as a tag team.

today i watched The Who Live in Hyde Park. i recorded that a few weeks ago and finally decided to watch it. they are a huge influence on my musical taste and kind of how my mind works.

my fantasy football finals start tonight as i will have 4 players playing in the San Diego vs. Oakland game. i really hope it is a high scoring shootout as i definitely need the points to get an early jump on my opponent. i know if i end up losing both finals i will be pissy for the rest of 2015.

i'm sure there are some Christmas programs on television tonight, but i will be watching football. i'm not really big on traditions anyway. my sister has to watch Home Alone and A Christmas Story every single year. i suppose if i really loved this holiday, i would be doing something like that. i wasn't blessed with the gift my sister has. she hardly remembers any of her childhood. i can recall years by each fucking day. good times.

i hope everyone is doing good. i hope the weather is good wherever you are. it's in the upper 50's today. crazy for Christmas Eve. i guess there is supposed to be a full moon on Christmas. that should be interesting.

i will do a very short blog tomorrow. my best to you and yours. have a very happy holiday and may something you actually want be under your tree.

sleep, you foreign beauty, where have you been all my life

i think i have slept more in the last 2 days than i have in the last month. amazingly, my back doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it did before. i was actually able to lay down in my bed flat on my back and do some stretching this morning. so, it looks like i will be going to the basketball game tonight.

Monday Night Raw last night was The Slammy Awards. to say that the show was mostly a waste of time would be an understatement. the only thing i liked was probably Kevin Owens getting pissed off when he didn't win Breakout Star of the year. i would say thankfully, there was something else on to watch, but the New Orleans Saints didn't help me much in that effort.

the Saints had a pathetic first half, including scoring three touchdowns in the same drive only to have them called back by penalties or replay. they fought back in the second half but anytime this season the team has had to rely on the defense, every single fan knew what was coming next. failure. the defense needed a huge stop and didn't get it. so the Saints only had a few seconds left and sure enough, since Drew Brees was trying to play through the pain in his right foot, he couldn't throw more than 20 yards or so. hard to score a touchdown when you have to go 80 in under 20 seconds. hello frustration, it's me again. Saints lose 35-27.

i did win both of my fantasy football matches from over the weekend. so this coming week i'll be playing for fifth place in one league and two championships in the other two leagues. i'm pretty sure i'm going to be the underdog in all 3.

tonight on the DVR will be WWE Smackdown as i believe there might be some actual wrestling on the show.

i will be at the Dayton Flyers vs. Miami Redhawks tonight. both my mother and sister graduated from Miami, so this game always means a little more in this family. tonight marks the return of Dyshawn Pierre from his suspension. i have no clue if he plays tonight or not, but he will be a welcome sight.

also tonight the New York Rangers will try to not give all of us fans a shitty Christmas by winning a game against Anaheim. the Ducks stink at the moment too, so i'm sort of happy i will be at the basketball game for most of this game.

hopefully i will be enjoying a few victory beers tonight.

i think my sister is coming down tomorrow. i thankfully was able to get most of the gifts wrapped last night. i even managed to wrap some of them in the comics instead of the obituary pages.

not sure what's going on with my uncle. i have a feeling with his blood pressure going down, that the end may be near. i figure given the way this family has gone over the years, i would not rule out a Christmas death. i think he's trying so hard to make it to that day that he's only hurting himself. as i told my mother this morning, maybe one of his daughters or his wife should have some fucking compassion and let him know it's okay to move on. but, given what i know about all of them, that won't happen. the last few months have been about themselves more than anything.

and on that lovely note, i hope everyone has a wonderful day.
