70 degrees today...

if it only could be like this every day. 70, a light breeze, peaceful and calm.

so, i know baseball season is getting close, mostly because the Yankees are already beset with injuries. fuck me.

i did get mom to the eye doctor today. her vision is greatly improved in her right eye. she will be getting two pair of new glasses, one that will also be sunglasses. they are a little funky, so i know she was feeling good today.

The Voice was really good last night. the battles have started.

Monday Night Raw was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT and St. Denis Medical.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Winnipeg.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i need to pick up the trash and get that ready to take out and figure out what the fuck i'm making for dinner.

i can do more on fumes than most humans...

so, i had an interesting conversation with my sister this morning. she sent me a May the 4th Be With You text this morning and i replied that i am going to need the force since i am running on less than 3 hours of sleep. she said she couldn't function if she had that little of sleep. i told her i have had over 30 years of experience of running on fumes. she then said she guesses she will be cremating mom and i on the same day. that made me howl and i told her, not likely. what i wanted to type was i will make sure to say something nice about her at her funeral. but i didn't.

the reason i had less than 3 hours of sleep was twofold. first, the New York Rangers game last night went into 3 overtimes. that meant i was watching the other shit i had to watch last night much, much later than i was expecting. and secondly, my mother had one of those screams last night at 4:52 AM that you only hear in horror movies. i rushed into her room and said what's wrong. she told me to turn on the lights and swore she saw a person in her room getting ready to kill her. she admitted to me this morning that she has been seeing ghosts for the last two weeks. well fuck me. so yeah, i didn't sleep much after that.

the New York Rangers played a great first period last night. and then, for some fucking reason, they reverted back to trying to make everything cute and perfect. so, they pissed away a 2 goal lead last night. of course, the refs played a much larger role in the game than they ever should have. the Rangers scored late in the 3rd, but since the refs and the league are stuck on the Penguins dick forever, the goal did not stand. and of course, the Penguins scored in the 3rd overtime to win, 4-3. Igor stopped an amazing 79 of 83 shots yesterday for the Rangers. i'm not saying that Thursday is a MUST WIN for the Rangers, but it might as well be. i'm just hoping the game 1 loss doesn't scar the players as much as i know it does to us fans. i have a horror list of losses by the Rangers in multiple overtimes that if i let it, will keep me up for days as they replay in my mind.

here are your highlights from the other NHL playoff games last night:

the New York Yankees won their 11th straight game last night, defeating Toronto, 9-1. they will go for their 4th straight sweep tonight.

NXT was good last night.

Young Rock was very good last night.

Name That Tune was pretty good last night.

Holey Moley was crazy as usual last night.

Mayans was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and The Masked Singer.

i do plan on watching the CONCACAF Champions League final tonight between Pumas and Seattle. i think there is going to be well over 50,000 fans on hand tonight in Seattle.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning (most likely) as mom has her physical therapy late in the afternoon tomorrow.

grocery shopping went well for the most part today. i got mom some yellow roses for Mother's Day. she was very surprised by that.

i guess my sister will be down late Friday night for the weekend.

endless pain...

so, my mother is allergic to latex. she wanted me to find some latex free band-aids for her face. i went to 5 different places today. none of them had any that would work for her. so, i told her that Amazon Prime is going to be her best bet. we really don't have anything in the house that would work for her either.

it fucking poured last night. rained enough to make sure my arthritis was going to be awake all night long. i guess i have finally figured out how to sleep in pain. that should extend my life by a few days i suppose.

so the new edition of NXT went pretty good last night. plenty of new faces, but i don't mind that. i love Tommaso Ciampa as the new champion, it sucks that Samoa Joe had to give up the title because of injury, but it is nice to see Goldie back where she belongs.

Deadliest Catch was good last night. next week is the season finale.

the Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 7-2. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

the grocery shopping went well other than not finding the one thing i couldn't find. i did get some baseball cards at Rite Aid. i paid $5 for a box and there was about $15 in it. i also found some NBA stickers at Dollar General. i said fuck it, i haven't seen these in years, so i bought 5 packs. i got a few stars in them. i don't peel and stick the stickers. i might include in some gifts this year or if anyone ever comes looking for some basketball cards...

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW, Big Brother and American Horror Story: Double Feature.

i know i need to take mom over to the place that does her taxes tomorrow. i might have a deposit to make at the bank tomorrow, don't know yet. i should be on here sometime in the afternoon i guess.

now i have to go figure out dinner and do my best to not let mom get too depressed. she saw what her face looked like when the band-aid fell off today. she told me she wanted to puke. so yeah, i have my work cut out for me.

i should have known it was going to be like this today...

i had to stick myself 4 damn times to get enough blood to take my blood sugar this morning. i should have known it was going to be one of those days.

that being said, i did manage to find some football cards today. i got 2 Fairfield boxes at Rite-Aid. it cost me $10 total. i think i got around $25 out of both boxes. that works for me. so yeah, if anyone is interested in some football cards, let me know what you need. everything is priced to go.

the grocery stores weren't too bad today. i could have gone without my back pain while at Kroger or the long fucking lines because they don't want too many people working.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Toronto, 7-3. and then lost to them again this afternoon, 5-4. fuck me.

the New York Rangers won last night over the Devils, 3-0. that was Igor's first NHL shutout. hopefully, the first of many to come.

NXT was fucking excellent last night.

Young Rock was good last night.

Kenan was pretty funny last night.

Deadliest Catch was a look at the Time Bandit and then a preview of the upcoming season. next week starts the 17th season of the show.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

so, while driving home from the grocery store, i was listening to a Neil Young song and suddenly started thinking about suicide. there is a loneliness that tends to swallow me on somedays and will eventually run me down that rabbit hole where i know i won't have any choice one day. the thing i find funny is i don't find it uncomfortable anymore. that riding the wave is the only thing i can do, knowing the results will never be as satisfying as i would need them to be. so yeah, if anyone wants to know the life of a poet, there you go.

i guess i am going to Menards tomorrow. i was planning on going Friday, but mom has a doctor's appointment on Friday. oh well.

not the news i was expecting...

i wrote 12 poems today while mom was in her dental appointment. when she got out, she told me that all she really did was had some x-rays taken. i guess her problem with her tooth is so bad she has to go to an oral surgeon to have it fixed. and of course, the closest one to us is in Richmond, Indiana. and the date she has to go is my sister's birthday. i told my mother to text my sister and let her know what her birthday present is going to be...

i haven't typed up the 12 poems yet. i had to take some prescriptions up to the grocery store this afternoon as the dentist doesn't call those in for you. and then i started watching some hockey.

Columbus won Game 2 against Tampa this afternoon, 3-1. the series is now tied 1-1.

the New York Yankees won last night over Atlanta, 6-3. they are off tonight and start a 4 game series against Boston on Friday.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm not sure who is going to be evicted tonight.

NXT was very good last night.

AEW was very good last night as well.

Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn brought back some memories last night. i swear, everything in the year 1989 is crystallized in my brain. i recommend this documentary to anyone who doesn't remember the late 80's.

enjoy some music:

i'm sure i'll probably watch some hockey tonight as well.

hope all is well.

and now the wind and rain come along...

i was trying to fall asleep last night when the thunder showed up. i could feel the rain pounding the roof as my back ached like a motherfucker. i think i slept in like two hour shifts last night. not fun.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was very good last night.

WWE Backstage was pretty good last night. i didn't get to see all of it as the DVR fucked up. thankfully, i only missed the first four minutes.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer, AEW, NXT and What We Do in the Shadows.

my pain today is really bothering me. both times i have iced my back it feels like i have slipped into a coma. good times.

i know it's supposed to get colder tomorrow. maybe May will be a warmer month. the only good thing about COVID-19 is how the planet itself has responded. and what this should show everyone, we can stop climate change, if we really wanted to. that's probably exactly why it will never happen.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

when ignorance becomes fear...

as most of you know by now, i have railed against the government in this country probably since i was 13 years old. they never expect their citizens to be adults and allow them to make adult like decisions, and sadly, too many adults don't mind that. so, you get what we have today. out of an unbelievable amount of fear, the entire NCAA tournament, men and women, will be played with no fans. i've emailed the NCAA asking where do i get my fucking refund for the tickets i purchased for the First Four. i can't wait to see that reply. we're now up to 4 people in Ohio with the coronavirus. just imagine if some asshole wouldn't have cut the money going to the planning for these type of doomsday events so he can have his fucking wall. my only wish is this virus would be more deadly and kill on contact. thin the fucking herd for good. i am so fucking tired of the number of ignorant assholes in this society that are in positions of fucking power. hats off to all the politicians who like that the people are fucking stupid. as always, this country gets what it fucking deserves. i'm going to stop there before i start naming names and get a fucking visit from the Secret Service.

WWE Backstage was really good last night.

the New York Rangers won last night in Dallas, 4-2. they play tonight at Colorado. the Rangers are 3 points out of a playoff spot at the moment.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer, NXT and AEW.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after the VCU vs. UMass game (winner plays Dayton on Friday) and after the Manchester United game tomorrow in the Europa League in an empty stadium in Austria.

that's all for me kids. i'm going to sign off before i get more mad and get arrested for something.

4 hours of sleep, rinse and repeat...

i don't think i'm doing too bad for someone who got to bed a little after 6 this morning. i get the feeling today is going to see plenty of naps.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Toronto, 2-1. the offense never really got going until the bottom of the 9th. the Yankees haven't been shutout in 172 games now. and the more i have to see shitty umpires, the more i am in favor of having the robots do the job.

now, on to the wrestling.

i thought AEW Fight for the Fallen was pretty good last night. there was a few technical problems during the broadcast and i thought some of the matches went way too long. other than that, it was pretty good.

NJPW was excellent last night. they showed night 2 of the G1 Climax.

ROH was good last night.

Evolve's 10th anniversary was the show of the night for me. the matches were better and i thought the little surprises Evolve and WWE came up with were excellent.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Our Cartoon President, City on a Hill, Big Little Lies, Euphoria and Big Brother. i'll be watching WWE Extreme Rules for most of the evening on WWE Network.

exactly how i thought my Saturday in the rain would start...

we have had over 8 inches of rain in last 20 hours or so. you can imagine my misery. now, toss in 5 rejected poems as well.

i heard back from Mark at Ariel Chart on my poetry submission from last month. i have no problem with having the poems rejected, but the reason he gave made me laugh. he said he was rejecting the poems because of profanity. considering 3 of the poems had no profanity at all... thankfully, now i know of another place to never waste my time on again.

the New York Yankees won last night in Seattle, 4-0. they got some great pitching last night. hopefully, that will continue tonight.

the USMNT lost to Brazil last night, 2-0. considering the USMNT was without their best player, that's not that bad of a job from the kids against the #3 team in the world.

VICE was really good last night.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Random Acts of Flyness was weird as fuck and great last night. i can't wait for season 2.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Ohio State plays at home this afternoon against Rutgers. hopefully it's another easy victory.

i'm sure i'll probably watch some other college football games today as well.

happy birthday to my sister. she turns... i've learned a long time ago to not mention the age of a woman and i'd like to stay in that will as well.

she should be down here this afternoon. between mom and i, she's going to get plenty for her birthday.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

there is beauty in the rage

as i get older and my age gets closer to the age of people dying, it's not exactly sobering, but it's also a sign of i know what's coming. when i saw that Vinnie Paul died last night at 54, that was a bit alarming. but, i immediately thought of the positive. now, he can finally be reunited with his brother and that sorrow has been eliminated. i've spent all morning listening to old Pantera songs. the fucking memories. go tear some shit up on the other side boys. rest in peace.

i always get the feeling when i see the New York Rangers at the NHL Draft, that they believe they are smarter than the room. their draft board is always different than every other team in the league. considering the Rangers haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1994, it might be time to admit insanity. i wasn't exactly thrilled with the Rangers first pick last night, especially with the two big Canadian d men still on the board. but, if this Russian kid has the immense talent that everyone believes, hopefully he's over here soon. now, i loved what the Rangers did with their other two selections in the first round. a young American d man and a young Swedish d man. now, none of the 3 really project to play in the NHL next season, so the rebuild is going to be a true one. i don't see any quick fixes, unless of course the kids they have drafted the last 3 seasons suddenly get great.

the New York Yankees lost last night down in Tampa 2-1. definitely one of those losses that you'd like to forget. hopefully they will win this afternoon.

VICE was excellent last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

Major League Wrestling was pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

i did watch Belgium destroy Tunisia this morning at the World Cup, 5-2. the other games today are South Korea vs. Mexico and Germany vs. Sweden.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

i'll probably watch some of day 2 of the NHL Draft. at least i will pay attention to see if the New York Rangers make any trades between rounds 2 and 7.

other than that, i'd love to have a quiet day and catch up on some sleep.

i know, i'm laughing as well. some shit is just not possible.

with the last thread of patience i have...

one of the joys of being a loner is truly not having to deal with certain amounts of shit that arise during adult life. today would be the perfect example. for the few friends i do have, i will go to unreal lengths to help them if i fucking can. now, with a certain special someone, that kind of help is determined from their end to be an accusation that they haven't been trying their best. i have swallowed so much fucking pride in my life, i'm choking to death on it. i remember something i heard when i was little. something to the effect that some people are determined to burn every fucking bridge in their life they can. it's fucking tragic at times, but i'm just stubborn and cynical enough to not give a shit. and it's the moments the Irish temper deep within starts to rage and i deeply understand how evil i really can be. and i don't think many people know, or even give a shit, how hard it has been to control that fucking demon for 42 years. i really hope Debbie Kirk gets good news tomorrow. regardless, i know somehow, i did something wrong along the way and i should feel bad for it. the joys of being an asshole is you are simply incapable of those moments any longer. i care, but never press your luck.

the New York Yankees got some strong pitching last night and just enough offense to win, 3-0 over Washington. they will go for the sweep tonight.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

hard to believe the World Cup starts tomorrow. i was happy that the USA, Canada and Mexico won the bid for the 2026 World Cup. of course, i don't like my chances of being alive to actually watch it.

i will probably do some poetry work the next few days while the soccer games are on. in a perfect world, i'll have the new chapbook in the format correctly by the time the cover art arrives. in reality, well, we'll see.

will wonders ever cease...

i woke up this morning to a nice coating of snow on the ground. jesus fucking christ, when the fuck will spring decide to stay around for more than a day or so? i told my mother what really has happened because of climate change, we only have two seasons now. hot and cold. that's it. at least i am old enough to remember when there was four seasons.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

i'll be honest, when Manchester City got up 2-0 in the first half over Manchester United today, i wasn't pleased. and i turned the game off. i started watching the baseball game. about 30 minutes later i checked the score. i expected to see City up 4 or 5-0. the score was 2-2. Paul Pogba scored 2 goals 97 seconds apart. i fought off every urge to turn back to the game, as it was obvious United had come back because i wasn't watching. i did turn back just as Chris Smalling was scoring the eventual game winner for United, 3-2. holy fucking shit. to see the look at the end of the game on City's players and fans was priceless. and i loved what Smalling said was the message at halftime from the special one... you guys don't want to be the clowns standing around watching them raise a trophy. man, if only United could play entire games like they play second halves...

the New York Yankees lost last night 7-3 in 14 innings. they had more players get injured than runs scored. great. thankfully, they were able to get the victory this afternoon 8-3. they will go for the split in the series with Baltimore tomorrow afternoon.

the New York Rangers are currently losing at Philadelphia 2-0 in the second period. if the Rangers would win today, it would probably knock the Flyers out of the playoffs. that certainly doesn't look like it's going to happen. oh well. another loss would help the Rangers draft position.

Vice was excellent last night. it's stupid how many children are in jail in this country.

NJPW was really good last night.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies went on forever last night. but, it was a good kickoff to WrestleMania weekend.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i will be watching NXT Takeover: New Orleans for most of the evening on WWE Network.

last night, i didn't get to sleep until 5 in the morning. i'm not sure if it was the snow or no alcohol or just having a fucking brain that never shuts off. when i got up around 10 this morning, it felt like i didn't sleep at all. i figure one of these days all of this is going to catch up to me and i will either sleep like my sister does (10 or so hours at a time) or i will sleep and never wake up. and honestly, there are plenty of days where i wouldn't mind either.

that's all for me kids. i hope your Saturday is awesome.
