i did watch Alex Ovechkin break Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record yesterday when he scored his 895th goal. to me, the best part of the game was that the Capitals lost, 4-1.

why am i used to only getting 4 hours of sleep and still being able to function...
honestly, i think because i used my drug use as a teenage as a means to expand my brain, etc. instead of just wanting to get high as fuck... my brain is really different than most people i know. i tend to do better on the less sleep i get. i know that bubble will fucking burst at some point, so i might as well enjoy the ride now. my thoughts on a few things will be coming up, but first...

it never fails...
so, as i was taking my mother to her doctor's appointment today, the check engine light came on in the Highlander. again. now, i have learned over time, if the light stays solid and doesn't blink, the vehicle is fine to drive. so, i have to call the dealership in the morning and see when i can bring it up there to see what the fuck is wrong now.
as for my mother's doctor's appointment, she got all the questions she had answered. hopefully, given the new pills, she'll finally get some relief from the pain.

the joys of insomnia...
so, i went to bed around 5 again this morning. up at 9, rinse, repeat, off to the grocery stores... i have been defeated by the mundane. good times.
the poet of the day for this day of National Poetry Month is Mather Schneider. yet another one that i have been published with for decades now, Mather knows how to lay down the words and keep you coming back for more...

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies last night were pretty good. it did feel a little long, but that was mostly due to the fact they were doing the 2020 and 2021 classes in the same night.

now the cherry on top of a crazy weekend...
last night was a little crazy. between the basketball games, the Yankees game and the WWE Hall of Fame incident involving a fan... let alone the NJPW/ROH show at Madison Square Garden, i think my internet crashed just from exhaustion.
i did see some of both college basketball games last night. it's hard for me to believe the refs in the Auburn vs. Virginia game missed a clear double dribble against Virginia that would have sealed the game for Auburn. instead, Auburn fouls Virginia shooting a last second three (correct call by the way) and the guy made all 3 free throws to win the game for Virginia, 63-62. in the second game, Texas Tech defeated Michigan State, 61-51. i joked last night that in the title game, between two great defensive teams, first one to 40 wins.
some fucking idiot attacked Bret Hart last night while he was giving his speech for the Hart Foundation being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. the feed cut out and it was fucking chaos. kudos to the wrestlers that beat the shit out of the guy. the event was really good, other than that. DX went a little long, but i was laughing most of the time, so i didn't mind it.
the New York Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 6-4. they go for the sweep this afternoon.
the New York Rangers won last night in Pittsburgh, 4-3 in OT. here's hoping the Rangers somehow manage to win the draft lottery.
Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.
ROH was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Barry, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Billions and The Chi. i'll be watching WrestleMania on WWE Network for all of the evening.
my sister spent the night here last night. they brought me back some brisket from their lunch in town yesterday. it was good. it's nice to have something other than fast food in town now. my sister and i talked a little about her job last night. she had an amazing interview for another job and i think she might get offered something in management at a different company soon. of course, this comes after she got a 4% raise at her current job. i have no doubt she will make the best decision for her.
here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. it's supposed to be storming tonight and into tomorrow. all i hope is the internet doesn't go out like it did yesterday.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
until tomorrow kids...

will wonders ever cease...
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
i'll be honest, when Manchester City got up 2-0 in the first half over Manchester United today, i wasn't pleased. and i turned the game off. i started watching the baseball game. about 30 minutes later i checked the score. i expected to see City up 4 or 5-0. the score was 2-2. Paul Pogba scored 2 goals 97 seconds apart. i fought off every urge to turn back to the game, as it was obvious United had come back because i wasn't watching. i did turn back just as Chris Smalling was scoring the eventual game winner for United, 3-2. holy fucking shit. to see the look at the end of the game on City's players and fans was priceless. and i loved what Smalling said was the message at halftime from the special one... you guys don't want to be the clowns standing around watching them raise a trophy. man, if only United could play entire games like they play second halves...
the New York Yankees lost last night 7-3 in 14 innings. they had more players get injured than runs scored. great. thankfully, they were able to get the victory this afternoon 8-3. they will go for the split in the series with Baltimore tomorrow afternoon.
the New York Rangers are currently losing at Philadelphia 2-0 in the second period. if the Rangers would win today, it would probably knock the Flyers out of the playoffs. that certainly doesn't look like it's going to happen. oh well. another loss would help the Rangers draft position.
Vice was excellent last night. it's stupid how many children are in jail in this country.
NJPW was really good last night.
the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies went on forever last night. but, it was a good kickoff to WrestleMania weekend.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i will be watching NXT Takeover: New Orleans for most of the evening on WWE Network.
last night, i didn't get to sleep until 5 in the morning. i'm not sure if it was the snow or no alcohol or just having a fucking brain that never shuts off. when i got up around 10 this morning, it felt like i didn't sleep at all. i figure one of these days all of this is going to catch up to me and i will either sleep like my sister does (10 or so hours at a time) or i will sleep and never wake up. and honestly, there are plenty of days where i wouldn't mind either.
that's all for me kids. i hope your Saturday is awesome.

so here's a theory
so, now Russia sees our response to Syria as aggression and it needs to be responded to. and there we have Putin's master plan. sucker the USA into a fucking war against Russia so Russia can finally eliminate it's greatest rival and be the only superpower on this planet. hopefully that sheds a little light for you dumb fucks out there that can't see what all the fuss is about with all the contact team asshole had with Russia over the last 2 years.
now, i'm sure Trump thinks he can simply pay his way out of this like he does every other time he fucks up, but i doubt that's possible. morally, yes, something had to be done. in reality, is there a leader to replace Assad? is there a way for Sunni and Shia and Christians to get along? better yet, is there a way to simply eliminate organized religion period? and the minute that jackass commits troops on the ground to Syria, hopefully it means he will only be in office for one term. god knows, if the USA gets really involved in that, there will be no turning back.
and to think that dumb fuck has the nuclear codes right at the tip of his small fingers. and better yet, i just saw where Syria expected the missiles and moved everything and is already using the base again for bombing raids. so much for sending that tough message.
of course, as any genus knows, follow the money. the company that makes the missiles saw their stock fly through the roof today is now worth $5 BILLION more after the bombing. anyone want to guess or speculate which rich people owned some of that stock?
that ends the political portion of today's blog. now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
-------
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night.
Life in Pieces was great right up until some asshole came on the television to tell us why 59 Tomahawk missiles were fired into Syria. thankfully, i was able to see the ending on CBS.com this afternoon.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.
the New York Yankees start a series tonight at Baltimore. i get a feeling these games will feel like softball games. first one to 10 runs will win.
i think my sister will be down here at some point over the weekend. part of me thinks she's coming down because she doesn't believe what's going on with mom and has to see it for herself. of course, i'm a cynical asshole as well.
i saw that the point guard that Dayton recruited from Minnesota, who ended up winning Mr. Basketball in the state, has asked for his release and wants to open back up his recruiting. he said Dayton will still be an option, which i'm going to take as bullshit more than anything. i'll give his chances of actually staying with Dayton somewhere less than 1%. so, here's the first real challenge for Anthony Grant. i know he started his face to face meetings with the recruits today. i'm sure that's why this video just happened to come out today as well.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. my thoughts are with everyone in Sweden. i would say you are in my prayers, but i'm old enough to know that shit doesn't work.
of course, i did see Tim Tebow hit a home run in his first minor league at bat yesterday. the guy he hit it off of was draft pick number 666 in 2015. that's some spooky shit right there.
but, yeah, to the lovely people of Stockholm, be safe.

time is running short
for National Poetry Month, i give you:
i sent out 5 poems today to Dave Roskos. hopefully he can find a place for them in one of his zines. when i get the verdict back i will pass it along.
the New York Yankees found their offense last night and won their first game of the season 16-6. they can win the series with Houston with a win this afternoon. hopefully they didn't use up all the runs last night.
NXT was sort of a clip show from their excellent Takeover:Dallas event.
Lucha Underground was great last night. from the start of the Trios tournament to the main event, it was awesome.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.
the New York Rangers play the fucking New York Islanders tonight at home in a game that both teams want to lose. a loss could set up an easier path in the Eastern Conference playoffs. so i'm not expecting much or any inspiring hockey tonight.
i guess my uncle is having a hard time dealing with the end being near. i guess he did the exact same thing the rest of the family did. these dumb fucks think the word remission means the cancer is gone, so life can go back to normal. it looks like he's going to go back into the hospital today. good times.
that's all for me today. i have a television and some over paid baseball players to go yell at.

Ben is the brains behind Horror Sleaze Trash. he is also a damn fine poet. you can check out some of his poetry here and here and here, plus, the crazy fucker certainly knows how to do a YouTube video:
the New York Rangers beat Columbus in OT last night, 4-3. it was a pretty good game, even though i had to watch with Columbus' shitty announcers. with the win, the Rangers are now one more win away from winning the President's Trophy. that could come tonight when they play at the Devils. hopefully it does. here are some highlights from last night:
The Voice was pretty good last night. one performance completely blew me away:
my dream woman was playing charades last night on The Tonight Show:
The Voice will be on the DVR tonight as i watch the hockey game. hopefully i start to feel a little better as this rain is quickly putting me in the dumps.
my mother thinks she may have broken a rib when she fell yesterday. needless to say, i'm not thrilled with this news.

well, as i warned all of you yesterday, if i managed to stay up all night this post was going to be a lengthy fucker. buckle up kids.
WrestleMania was really good last night. a few things really stood out. first off, the opening was amazing. to have The Rock, Stone Cold, and Hulk Hogan all in the ring at the same time was fucking awesome. then, the HHH vs. Daniel Bryan match was some of the best storytelling in years. a great match. the next thing that stood out was Cesaro picking up The Big Show and slamming him with ease over the top rope to win the battle royal. that was a true HOLY SHIT moment. i didn't exactly care for the way the Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match was booked. Cena should have lost. that would have been much more interesting. and hats off to Bray for carrying that prick the entire match. the Divas match was a yawn fest. i think i am still stunned that the Undertaker actually lost. it was the first i ever remember him actually looking his age. but, from everything i have read, it was his call to have Brock Lesnar end the streak. the views from the crowd were amazing. they were just as shocked as i was. the final match between Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, and Batista was pretty damn good. and it ended the way it should have. with Daniel Bryan finally getting his moment in the sun. not bad for a guy i once saw wrestle in front of 30 people or so. i'm not sure i can convince my mother it was worth the money, but i did enjoy it.
as for the Sunday night shows, i was pretty damn pleased. Shameless is always good for a memorable season finale. last night was no difference. and the very end of the episode got me really excited for next season. one of the best shows around. House of Lies once again takes itself so seriously that it is painfully funny. that finale was ok, but i am truly not invested in the show. Veep has always been able to make me laugh. one, i enjoy politics. two, that cast is a fucking riot. and i did watch Silicon Valley. i believe they have another winner. that show is so damn funny. i called my sister today to tell her to put it on her DVR. with all the tech talk and cocky programmers, etc., it is truly right up my sister's alley given her occupation.
after getting done with all that, i did the dishes and re-watched a good portion of WrestleMania again. i might have got to bed around 4 in the morning.
then, up around 7:30 as my back was killing me. i looked out the window and saw the clouds. fuck, more rain. and that is what it has done for most of the day. just fucking rain.
thankfully, the New York Yankees had their home opener today to keep my mind off of the weather. the Yankees won 4-2. good pitching, some timely hitting, all in all, i can't complain. hopefully when the weather warms up this team will have some power. of course, it could be 1996 all over again. i wouldn't mind that either. another day game tomorrow against the Orioles. hopefully, another afternoon with a victory beer.
after i get done typing this drivel, i'm planning on hoping in the shower and get my youthful weekend off of me.
tonight, it's the usual battle between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. plus, the national championship game in college basketball. Raw will get most of my attention, mostly because the t-shirts i ordered from the WWE came today and i feel like i need to be truly more invested in it. i will sneak plenty of looks at The Voice, as music will always be my mistress. as for the basketball game, i might watch if it stays close near the end. i don't have money on the game and i didn't pick either of these teams in my brackets, so i'm just a passive observer this evening. i might also take a peek at some hockey games. the Rangers can clinch a playoff berth tonight if the Devils lose. plus, i have entered the panic stage in my fantasy hockey finals. so, i'm making drastic decisions in hopes that i can turn this around quickly. hard to believe this is the last week of the season.
that's all for me kids. i'm sure sometime tonight i'll be snoring in the chair, father time finally catching up on me. until then, let the show keep on rolling. hope this finds everyone well. hopefully the weather is better in your neck of the woods than this dreary shit i have going on here at the farm.
until tomorrow, hopefully after another Yankees win...

after a great weekend...
the Yankees rally last night came out of nowhere. i was shocked when they scored that many runs off of the Baltimore closer. shocked and thrilled. hopefully that fucks him for the rest of the series. hopefully the old war horse named Andy Pettitte can go out tonight and get a commanding lead to the series.
i can't remember the last time Ohio State put up 63 points against a name team. let alone Nebraska. that game was a pleasant sight of hopefully what is coming in the next few years. i can't imagine what this team will look like when Coach Meyer gets all of his players in. i can certainly get used to beating the shit out of people.
Sunday morning was the best i have seen Manchester United play this season. a complete 90 minutes. 3-0 to repay Newcastle back for the loss last season. shockingly, the goals came from Evans, Evra, and Cleverly. i can only imagine the amount of money you could have won if you got those 3 names right. hopefully they bottle that performance and repeat it for the rest of the season. if so, shine up the trophies.
the only negative of the weekend was how i can manage to score over 100 points in fantasy football and still lose. hopefully i can pull out 1 of the 2 remaining matches with a good performance from the Texans tonight. between the baseball playoffs, Monday Night Raw, and The Voice, i doubt i'll watch much of it. what ever happens happens.
