the New York Rangers played a pretty good Game 1 last night. of course, it wasn't good enough. the Rangers lost at Carolina, 2-1 in OT. the winning goal came off a Rangers defenseman and went in. fuck me. hopefully, the Rangers can win Game 2 Friday night.

i guess i know what it feels like to be a parent now...
so, i was in the shower today, mostly because i really fucking needed one. i got out, dried off, got dressed (partly) and my mother said to me from the living room, guess what? i asked her what did she do? she was trying to put the sheets into the fold out couch and fucking fell into the couch, minus the cushions now, and cut her arm. so yeah, much like how a parent can't turn away for even a second and their young child will do something stupid... i told her she is now on punishment. she can sit in her chair and watch tv or sleep. anything other than that, an adult has to be present at all times. i think all of this truly explains why i wanted to be dead before my 30's. and i know that the odds are my life is going to get better at some fucking point, but my patience for that is running as fucking thin as ever.
happy cinco de mayo to everyone. or as i like to think of the day, happy 7th anniversary of the day we put my piece of shit father into the ground.
the New York Yankees lost last night in Toronto, 2-1. they are off today and start a series at home Friday night against the Texas Rangers.

a change in plans...
mom had down the wrong time for her physical therapy appointment today. now that i know it is later in the afternoon, i figured i would get the blog done now.
tonight is the first round of the NFL Draft. i'm really interested to see what the New Orleans Saints do with their two first round picks. and i can't wait to see where the Ohio State guys end up.

of course it had to rain
so, last night i was watching some tv and then all of a sudden, pain took over me and i was out. i don't remember falling asleep. what i think happens anymore is the pain gets so much for my body that i just blackout. what pissed me off was i was right in the middle of that Cypress Hill documentary last night. thankfully, i did get to see all of it, eventually. that brought back a ton of memories.
the Yankees won last night in Detroit, 5-3. they go for the sweep this afternoon. i'm pretty sure most of the attention will be on seeing if Miguel Cabrera gets his 3,000th hit today for the Tigers.

growing impatient in an incompetent world...
i wanted to have this blog done before now. thankfully, the Yankees are in a rain delay right now, so i've got a little more time than i thought i did.
mom once again fell asleep in her physical therapy today. they were working on getting the rocks back in where they should be in her ears. so, her session went about 30 minutes longer than it was supposed to, which threw a couple of screws into the rest of my day. what she doesn't understand is i'm not angry with her over this; i still believe i can overcome anything. the time limits i put on shit are arbitrary as it is. what i can't stand is the little things, the details of life. a slow driver, a grandma that can't make a sharp turn, a stupid motherfucker that pulls out into traffic without looking, etc. etc. part of it is my stubbornness for sure and part of it is i simply expect too much from humanity.
so i wrote 2 poems today. i typed those up and the two i wrote yesterday. i like all of them. i need to get a few more written and i think i'm going to try to get another round of submissions out this month.

it never fails...
so, as i was taking my mother to her doctor's appointment today, the check engine light came on in the Highlander. again. now, i have learned over time, if the light stays solid and doesn't blink, the vehicle is fine to drive. so, i have to call the dealership in the morning and see when i can bring it up there to see what the fuck is wrong now.
as for my mother's doctor's appointment, she got all the questions she had answered. hopefully, given the new pills, she'll finally get some relief from the pain.

and now back to the cold...
i hate when i have to turn the damn furnace back on after having it off for a day. that is the kind of shit that makes you think warmer weather will never get here to stay for a few days at least.
thankfully, we didn't have any damage from the fucking wind yesterday. my friends weren't as lucky.
the USMNT lost to Costa Rica last night, 2-0. i'm happy the boys have qualified for the World Cup, i just wish they could have done it with a victory.
