i wanted to have this blog done before now. thankfully, the Yankees are in a rain delay right now, so i've got a little more time than i thought i did.
mom once again fell asleep in her physical therapy today. they were working on getting the rocks back in where they should be in her ears. so, her session went about 30 minutes longer than it was supposed to, which threw a couple of screws into the rest of my day. what she doesn't understand is i'm not angry with her over this; i still believe i can overcome anything. the time limits i put on shit are arbitrary as it is. what i can't stand is the little things, the details of life. a slow driver, a grandma that can't make a sharp turn, a stupid motherfucker that pulls out into traffic without looking, etc. etc. part of it is my stubbornness for sure and part of it is i simply expect too much from humanity.
so i wrote 2 poems today. i typed those up and the two i wrote yesterday. i like all of them. i need to get a few more written and i think i'm going to try to get another round of submissions out this month.
here are your 3 videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
the Yankees lost last night to Toronto, 6-4. i should say they lost to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. he hit 3 home runs last night. oh well. if they do play tonight, the Yankees will be trying to get the split in the series.
the New York Rangers defeated Philadelphia last night, 4-0.
AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.
Snowfall was great last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.
The Masked Singer was crazy last night, as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, United States of Al, How We Roll, NJPW, Atlanta and Desus & Mero. i watched NXT UK this afternoon on Peacock. it was really good.
i'm not a very religious person anymore. just had two fucks knock on the door from some church not in the area. they are lucky mom answered the door instead of me.
so yeah, i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i do have one of my favorite songs in mind for Good Friday.
that's all for me kids. i need to ice my back down and go figure out dinner. of course, i had lunch less than 3 hours ago, so this should be interesting.

so, i woke up from a nap this afternoon to my mother telling me the insurance company doesn't want to pay for her oxygen anymore. and since the people that ordered it didn't do it right to begin with, now my mother has to jump through all these hoops or pay the money they believe they are owed since February. did i ever mention why i hate most humans?
the New York Rangers lost last night to Calgary, 5-1. one of those nights where you just shake your head and say fuck it. you can't win them all.
thankfully, the New Orleans Saints won last night in Seattle, 13-10.
The Voice was really good last night.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.

i'm not really sure why we bother with changing the clocks these days. of course, i always laugh when they say on the news that we're losing a hour of sleep. right.
so, i did get both of my packages yesterday. the postal guy that delivers the mail crammed both in the mailbox. that didn't make me happy. thankfully, the tear in the one package was just to the outside, nothing inside. i did get some pretty good cards yesterday from Walk Off Wax, including my first ever graded card. of course, it had to be of a Red Sox player. i think i got around $50 worth of cards and i paid less than that for the packs, so i was pleased. i went through all the top loaders i got in my other package. mom bought me some more in her Amazon Prime order she did yesterday. so, i should have those on Tuesday.
the New York Yankees won yesterday over the Pirates yesterday, 7-5. they play the Blue Jays today.
the New York Rangers defeated Boston yesterday, 4-0. Panarin was back in the lineup and it certainly showed.
Austin City Limits was good last night. it was the episode with Steve Earle & The Dukes tribute to Guy Clark.
ROH was pretty good last night.

i will probably watch some college basketball today.
Manchester United plays West Ham this afternoon. hopefully, the boys will find a way to get a victory today.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poem:
i got mom to her appointment to get her COVID test on time. they did the test right in the car. she was under the impression she also had to have blood work done. the problem these days is my mother gets easily confused with things and then gets mad at herself for the confusion. i'm not sure how many times i can tell a person it's ok before i have to just let them fucking suffer in this shit. after that, we went over to Batteries + Bulbs to go recycle some batteries and light bulbs. i also found a hard case for my phone. that was a fucking bitch to get open but i do believe my phone is going to be safe now. after that, we went to Target. mom said it felt weird to be out and not at the doctor. i found some 2020 Topps Update while i was there. got some decent Ken Griffey Jr. cards in that box. mom got a wireless charger and a shell case for her phone. and of course, within 3 minutes, she completely forgot that she had already paid for everything. and to top it all off, when we got out to the parking lot, someone left the motorized cart right behind the Highlander. that felt wonderful on my bad back moving that fucker.
and to sprinkle on some more hate, i had Taco Bell for lunch.
got everything done to watch Manchester United shit the bed and lose today, 3-2, in the Champions League. that means they will be back into the Europa League now. fuck me. i almost would have felt better about this match if they would have just lost 3-0 instead of making the damn comeback and falling short.
tonight, the Dayton Flyers play at home against Northern Kentucky. i'm really hoping Dayton doesn't decide to cap off my miserable fucking day with another loss.
The Voice was really fucking good last night. i have no damn clue who makes the finals tonight.
Axios was pretty interesting last night.
Industry was very good last night.
Monday Night Raw was good last night, for the most part.

so i made it to my appointment this morning on time. i took the EMG test. the doctor had a very thick accent, so that was fun. damn good thing i have a high pain tolerance. so, the test revealed i have a mild pinched nerve in my neck and carpal tunnel in my right wrist. oh joy. after that, i had to go to Meijer down the street to get some stuff for the house. of course, they didn't have it. i did get some things i wasn't planning on getting that i knew we needed instead. and then i went to McDonald's to get breakfast. mom likes their big breakfast. sometimes i think she has me get it because she doesn't trust me to cook something for her. oh well. the funniest part of this morning was the physical therapy place calling me to see if i could come in at 10:30. of course, they called at 10:20 while i was on the toilet taking a shit. good times. so, i'm guessing i will be doing some physical therapy at some point for all of this. so, my liver is dying, my neck is pinched, i have the same shit in my wrist that my father had and the cashier at Meijer wasted 10 minutes of my life randomly talking about her car accidents and fucked up neck. the life of a poet. and you wonder why we all want to die.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
Total Divas was good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.
Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night.
Mayans M.C. was very, very good last night.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think mom is feeling better, so i don't think i have to rush for any medical supplies. she's going to have one hell of a scar from this one.

Smackdown was really good last night.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:
i think i have had a headache since last night. alcohol didn't help. sleep didn't help. hell, a shower and clean clothes didn't help either. good times.
i really enjoyed Saturday Night Live last night. seeing all those old Prince performances and the skits was great. having Jimmy Fallon host it was good as well. you could tell just how much Prince meant to Jimmy.
ROH was excellent last night.
i was blown away by Lemonade last night. Beyonce really showed me something last night, in more ways than one. first, loved the concept. second, i was so happy she used poetry in the production, even better she used the poems from someone who isn't a household name. for that, i will always have something positive to say about Beyonce. thirdly, the celebrity cameos were great and including the mothers of the black men killed by police officers was certainly a poignant part. and quite frankly, i enjoy anything that makes white people uncomfortable. lastly, the music was great. and it was a little of everything; rock, r&b, hip hop... was a great listen. i highly encourage everyone to check it out.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Last Week Tonight and the return of Veep and Silicon Valley.
the New York Yankees played like shit today. i turned the game off when they were down 2-0 ten pitches into the game. they ended up losing 8-1. that wraps up a lousy home stand. they now go on the road. i doubt it gets much better, especially now that the injuries are already popping up. so much for that winning streak.
mom made it up to Columbus. she hates her rental car. she wanted a mid-size SUV and the place told her that wouldn't be a problem. instead she gets a Chevy Tahoe, which is probably the biggest vehicle she has ever driven. she's supposed to be back by tomorrow afternoon. hopefully she gets back here before the rain hits.
i think i will have a writing session tonight if all goes as planned. one of those that lasts until 3 or 4 in the morning. i haven't had one of those in a few months.

i woke up this morning with my back feeling like an elephant had slept on it. 5 hours later and i still haven't been able to get it loose. that usually means i'm going to be a bitter angry prick for the rest of the day. seeing that it is Thanksgiving, i'll fit right in.
not that i'll actually go over next door to see the family. it's more likely that some asshole will come over here and interrupt me. i'm not sure what part of not participating in the holidays for over 20 years that people just don't get.
Manchester United pissed away a glorious chance yesterday to advance into the knockout round of the Champions League. it was yet another game where they forgot to be clinical in the final third. a 0-0 draw did them no favors yesterday. they now have to win in Germany or they will most likely not get out of the group stage. that will be a complete fucking failure.
the New York Rangers met their kryptonite last night. Montreal whipped them 5-1. enough said. they next play tomorrow afternoon in Boston.
my sister and i watched a bunch of shows on the DVR that happened while she was in South Africa.
NXT was really good last night. between the best contract signing ever between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe to the match between Eva Marie and Bayley that reminded me of a Dusty Rhodes classic storytelling of the baby face overcoming all the stacked odds... it was an excellent show. add on to that that Sami Zayn is coming back soon and it was certainly 60 minutes i enjoyed.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight down in Orlando, Florida against Iowa. if Dayton can somehow win that game, they will most likely play Notre Dame in the next game. that would greatly boost their schedule come March. but, they will have their hands full with Iowa.
i have fantasy players in all 3 football games today. if none of them have great games, i'm pretty much fucked come Sunday. i figure knowing my luck, i will be drinking scotch by tonight.
i typed up the 7 poems i wrote earlier this week this morning. i really like all 7 of them. i'm guessing that i will get some submissions out early next week.
i nearly forgot my usual thanksgiving tradition. i'm really getting frustrated with not having my old computer. it finally dawned on mom this morning that she needs to get it fixed. the thing is in her name as is the warranty with geek squad. plus, she still has shit on there for her job.
that's all for me today kids. if you are celebrating Thanksgiving today, enjoy it and try not to kill the crazy cousin or uncle. if you aren't doing that today, enjoy your Thursday.
keep the drinks flowing kids.

the only good thing about the New York Yankees losing last night (3-0) is i can turn my attention to hockey now and not give two shits about baseball. the Yankees couldn't do shit last night. as soon as Tanaka gave up the first solo home run, i knew the game was pretty much over. as soon as the game ended, i turned the television off and poured myself something strong. i had poems to type up.
i typed up the poems and i am pretty happy with them. i've got a little batch of poems that will probably go out in my next round of submissions. i also found out that my interview with Your One Phone Call will run on October 18th.
since i couldn't stand how the game was going last night, i was able to watch my shows without really missing anything. The Muppets was very funny last night. i think that was the best show they have done so far. Scream Queens was fucking hilarious. it is slowly becoming a favorite of mine. for some reason, the DVR didn't start recording The Voice last night. luckily i caught that 4 minutes into the show. it was mostly a recap show of the blind auditions. the battle rounds do look like they will be entertaining.
amazingly, i got all the players i wanted in fantasy football this week. hopefully they do as well as i think they will. my suicide pick this week is Denver.
here's some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
tonight is another glorious clusterfuck on television. wrestling, hockey, You're The Worst and American Horror Story on at the same time.
on the WWE Network will by NXT Takeover: Respect. the main event will be an iron man match between Sasha Banks and Bayley. if it is anything like their last match, it will be another instant classic. after that on Table for 3, three of my favorite wrestlers will be shooting the shit, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Dean Ambrose. so there's a good chunk of my evening.
the New York Rangers start their season tonight in Chicago. i will happily skip most of the pregame shit since the Stanley Cup will be out again, the raising of the banner, etc., etc. i'm hoping the Rangers get off to a good start since i will see them Friday up in Columbus. we went with the 6 game package this season; Rangers, Maple Leafs, Predators, Avalanche, Lightning and Blackhawks. that last game against Chicago could be really interesting if Columbus needs a victory to make the playoffs.
also tonight one of my favorite shows returns, American Horror Story. i will be triple checking the DVR to make sure that records. the promos for this season look fucking amazing. and adding Lady Gaga to the cast will surely make it even crazier. You're The Worst looks like it should be good tonight as well.
made sure my fantasy hockey team is ready to go tonight. so far, i've only made one change to what i drafted. i couldn't pass up the chance to get someone that's going to play on Chicago's top line.
the weather here the last few days is about as close to perfect as this place can get. it's been years since we could keep the windows open day and night for consecutive days it seems. but as usual here, it looks like it's going to rain this weekend. fucking figures.
hopefully i will be on here tomorrow with good news to report. thankfully, no more Yankees slumps to bitch about.
i hope everyone is lounging in a favorite chair, stress free and enjoying something at the moment. (insert your favorite vice here)

the one thing i knew i would hate about moving away from the farm would be being so fucking close to other people. yesterday was the perfect example. July 4th on the farm was really, just another fucking day. July 4th in "town", it's a big to do. and when every other jackass is shooting off fireworks, it gets a little fucking annoying after a few hours. i wrote a poem sort of about this while on the toilet this morning. i suppose i do my best thinking there. hopefully, i'll write a few more today, although i imagine mom is going to keep me busy.
and it looks like another day of sunshine here. so, there is a little part of me that would like to actually go out and enjoy it. i haven't had my summer ritual bad sunburn yet.
enjoy some music before i get to the events of yesterday:
i did watch all of the Copa America final yesterday. i was stunned that Argentina blew that chance to win at the death of regulation. and then a little more stunned when Chile beat them in penalty kicks, 4-1. hard to believe Messi can be so good with his club and then be virtually invisible at times with his country. congrats to Chile on their first ever Copa America title.
the New York Yankees scored early yesterday and were cruising. cruising to the point where i actually fell asleep. so, imagine my surprise when i woke up to a 2-2 score, right after Betances blew the save by giving up a 2 run homer. i cleared my eyes and settled in for the bottom of the 9th. Tex got a miracle double. Jose Pirela came in to pinch run for him. Chris Young couldn't get a bunt down but managed to work a walk anyway. that brought up Ramon Flores:
walk off wins in back to back days. i'll take it. they go for the sweep this afternoon.
the rest of the night was helping mom put up some stuff around the house, carry in boxes from the garage and watch some fireworks:
i did watch most of ROH last night (i finished it up this morning). a great main event between Red Dragon and Elgin vs. The Kingdom. and if you haven't seen Dalton Castle wrestle, i urge EVERYONE to do so.
another music break as i need to get some water:
after the Yankees game today, the USA women play Japan in the finals of the Women's World Cup. i can't believe the USA hasn't won the World Cup since 1999. hopefully that changes. after that is over, it will be time for the Sunday night shows. now, all of this will be on the DVR as i have no clue how long the soccer game will go. so, tonight i'll be watching Big Brother (mostly just to see the little details of what i already know), True Detective, Ballers and The Brink. closing out the night will be the season finale of Penny Dreadful. i saw this morning that the show will be coming back in 2016 for season 3. that made me very, VERY happy. hopefully the season finale is a great one.
i imagine if i still have any energy left, i will be doing some typing late tonight. i'm hoping the words keep on flowing after that poem i wrote this morning. it has the makings of a really good one.
that is all for me today. i hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July. enjoy the rest of the weekend.

to say i was a little pissed last night would be a huge fucking understatement. and it wasn't from one of my sports teams or some poems getting rejected or any of the first culprits you may think of. it was due to the main fucking culprit in my life these days... FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS. the absolute worst piece of shit company i have ever dealt with in my ENTIRE fucking life. i was trying to download a song that i got for FREE last night and was wondering why i was having problems. i look over at the modem and sure enough, the fucking internet is out. was the weather bad? no. was there too many people on it? it was almost 11:45 at night. most people in this town are in bed by 10. i'm guessing it was something like some fucker hit the wrong button and couldn't give a shit. 2 hours later, it was still out. i was so fucking angry i went to sleep without having a victory beer. now, that's some anger if you know me. i got up at 5 this morning and it was back on. if not, i might be in jail for torching a building. chalk this up as reason 3,672 of why i am looking forward to moving.
my clusterfuck Monday was good. Monday Night Raw was pretty good after the first hour. thankfully, i didn't watch much of that. of course, i feel a big tease coming on with Daniel Bryan.
Gotham was fucking brilliant once again. this show is easily one of the best shows on television.
the New York Rangers overcame being completely brain dead at times last night to win 6-3. they play tomorrow night in a HUGE game against Boston. here are the highlights from last night:
since i fell asleep last night, i had to do the dishes this morning. i hit my fucking left leg on the dishwasher as i was taking the clean dishes out. nothing quite like drawing blood at 7 in the morning. and trust me, it still fucking hurts.
Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup today, winning 3-0. i was hoping for more goals, but Cambridge United put up a good fight. the boys now travel to Preston in the next round 13 days from now. i really hope this is the year they bring the FA Cup back to where it belongs. here are some highlights from today:
there really isn't much on tv tonight i'm planning on watching. maybe some college basketball, maybe some hockey. i'll probably just enjoy some victory beers and ice my fucking leg.
i'll be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the fog has rolled in here at the farm. rolled in to the point where i can't see the road from the house. that should make for some fun driving to the basketball game tonight.
i had an interesting night last night. i was flipping between wrestling and football, getting more agitated as time went on. thankfully, i had some good breaks long before my nails were chewed off of my hands. my deficit of 9 points got quickly erased in the second half when my WR for Denver caught 2 touchdowns. i ended up winning the title in the fantasy league by 10 points. i felt more relief than joy actually. if i would have lost i would have beaten myself up pretty bad. now, my opponent can do that to himself, as he had the points on his bench to win. this is my 6th fantasy football championship. the most astonishing thing is this is my second championship with Tony Romo. at least my stress level can go back to normal now.
as for wrestling, i enjoyed Monday Night Raw more than i did last week. of course, that's not saying much. i truly did enjoy the match between Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper. that was excellent.
there was a couple of other good matches, though i wish they would have Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt wrestle in something other than a special bullshit no DQ match as they have done for the last 2 weeks. that's just lazy booking. oh well.
i totally forgot about The Men in Blazers last night. i'll have to try to catch the show late on Christmas Eve. i can't wait until i get the DVR and never have to worry about this shit again.
i'm looking forward to the basketball game tonight. the Dayton Flyers take on their former coach and Georgia Tech. i'm sure they will be looking to avenge their loss to Dayton last season. i'm really interested to see how the small team of Dayton competes against a much larger team. if Dayton can win this one, i'll feel some confidence about them in the A10 this season. the game is on nationally on the CBS Sports Network.
after that, i imagine we might end up going to Waffle House to eat. of course, the weather may dictate we simply come home. the rain and winds are supposed to start really hitting tonight i think. it's been in the 50's for most of today. certainly what i expect two days before Christmas.
i think i slept on my neck and shoulder wrong last night. they have been stiff all damn day. and of course, my body doesn't respond to heat. so this rain and fog has been doing wonders for it all day. i guess i'll have to let adrenaline do the job.
that's all for me today. i need to start getting ready to leave for the game. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
