a little writing and a little morning sweat

i wrote 4 poems yesterday, completely out of the blue. those 4 poems actually filled up the notebook i've been writing in for the last 15 months. i typed them up and i have to admit, i really like these 4. i will probably include them in my next round of submissions, which i hope to get out before the end of the month.

i guess a little nostalgia helped the New York Yankees yesterday. after the retirement of Jorge Posada's #20, they actually scored some runs for their rookie pitcher. congrats to Severino on his first MLB win as the Yankees won 6-2. they will go for the split in the series today after the retirement ceremony for Andy Pettitte. his #46 will be going into Monument Park.

the wrestling last night was excellent. ROH was great. so great that i'm recording it again today. NXT Takeover: Brooklyn was off the charts great. the women's match between Sasha Banks and Bayley was one of the best women's matches i have ever seen. the storytelling was incredible. i felt sorry for Finn Balor and Kevin Owens to have to go after that one. but the lasting image of this event will be what happened after the women's match.
these 4 ladies are the revolution and i have no doubt they will all succeed in this business. i doubt tonight's SummerSlam will come close to NXT last night. although, i wouldn't mind being wrong about that.

also on the DVR last night was the Austin City Limits performance from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. always good to have that one on hand just in case i need some inspiration.

enjoy some music and a kick ass poem perfect for a Sunday:

other than SummerSlam tonight, on my DVR will be the season finales of The Brink and Ballers; The Strain, Ray Donovan, Big Brother, Masters of Sex and Last Week Tonight. i have no clue when i will get around to watching all of them.

i helped mom this morning do some work in the flower beds and then put up some shelves in the garage. that certainly helped getting some shit off of the floor in the garage. plus, it will now force mom to go through the shit out there.

i figure at some point today i need to work in a shower and a nap. wrestling is going to be 4 hours long tonight, so i would hope not to be an old man and fall asleep before it's over.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a true moment of clarity

as mom was confusing herself with math last night, trying to figure out how the 4 things she wants to hang on the wall in the hallway are going to fit together, it suddenly dawned on her that we actually need a working power drill to hang these things. i was pleasantly shocked. i gladly helped hang some little things last night; stuff that only needed a hammer or just brute force. thankfully, we were done by the time all the Sunday night shows were starting.

Big Brother was good last night. The Brink and Ballers were excellent. their season finales are next week. The Strain was fucking great. Ray Donovan was good. Masters of Sex was good. i also watched that Ed Sheeran special on NBC last night. i enjoyed it, mostly because of the behind the scenes shit. finally, Last Week Tonight hit another home run. John's argument certainly points out all the reasons i gave up on church. enjoy kids:

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 3-1. for some reason the offense doesn't show up when Severino pitches. he's pitched well enough to be 3-0 in his 3 major league starts. oh well. they are still in first place. they start a long home stand tonight against the Twins. it's also the start of Hope Week. hopefully it's like previous hope weeks and the Yankees start a nice long winning streak.

while the Yankees were doing nothing yesterday, i flipped over to watch the USA women absolutely destroy Costa Rica in a soccer friendly. here are 3 of the 8 goals they scored yesterday to win 8-0.

anyone else in the mood for some music:

and for shits and giggles, some art:

tonight on the DVR will be Men in Blazers. i will spend most of tonight watching Monday Night Raw while wishing for the pain from my arthritis to cease for a few minutes. there's been rain in the area all day long and it has been excruciating at times. good times.

i will be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays the first leg of their match in the Champions League. hopefully i will be enjoying a victory beer while i'm writing tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Sunday. hopefully your whole weekend was good. one of our solar lights died over the weekend. i guess i shouldn't have put it near a plant that produces a sap of sorts. i opened it up thinking i just needed to change the battery. imagine my surprise when everything was covered in this brown goo.

i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. the link will be below in the music section.

progress... kind of

so, i thought i had charged the battery for the power drill. i mean, it was plugged in for almost 4 days. so when it died while i was trying to drill a hole to hang something in the living room last night, i was a bit pissed. so like any rational red blooded fool, i took out the drill bit and got a hammer and decided to use elbow grease instead. it took way longer than it should have, but everything that was supposed to be put up last night was.

and then in a sudden moment of fuck it, why not, or i was just really tired of the thing popping up on the computer, i upgraded to Windows 10 last night. i believe everything transferred. now, if you are a person who relies on Microsoft for everything, you should enjoy Windows 10. as for myself, this was more of an exercise to prove that i can get a handle on "modern" technology. this coming from a guy who has never sent a text message.

the upgrade happened overnight, so i didn't get nearly as much sleep as i wanted to. thankfully, i got in a good cat nap this morning and i should be good to go.

a little poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Conduit on the poems i sent back in January. they decided to pass on them and didn't send them back as i requested. that made it so much fun yesterday trying to find the 5 poems among the 5 years worth of material i have on one thumb drive. good times.

enjoy some music kids:

and since it is Sunday, time for some culture:

the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Tanaka yesterday and broke out the long ball to beat Toronto 4-1. that puts the Yankees up 1 1/2 games in the division now. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

the season ending episode of Power last night was excellent. a few nice swerves and a oh shit ending that should definitely make for an interesting season three.

ROH was excellent last night. you really can't go wrong with a show that includes Dalton Castle and the Young Bucks.

i believe mom and i are going to try to either get more stuff up on the walls today or put together some shelves in the garage.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex, Ballers, The Brink, The Strain and Last Week Tonight.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. as long as i don't suddenly find that some file is lost in the cloud somewhere, my Saturday was pretty damn good. hopefully all of our Sundays will be as well. currently i'm watching Manchester Shitty take on Chelsea. it's hard watching a game where you hope both teams lose.

enjoy the drinks and the sun. the order you do so is up to you.

time catches up to all of us

so i had one of my rare venture out into public and stay out after the street lights come on nights last night. the alumni soccer games were pretty good. it was nice seeing some faces i haven't seen since i graduated from high school. i joked at one point what this really is is the white high school reunion. seeing that i've never been invited to any of our high school reunions (other than day of), it seemed rather appropriate. the two guys that told me about the event and wanted to know if i was going of course didn't show up. they have kids and wives, so i imagine "life" came up. the night did spark some words in my head. i've got one damn line that i'm going to have to write out of my head as it kept me up most of the night. i might have a stanza so far, so i just need to sit down and pound it out. get your mind out of the gutter. i was here first.

sitting on those metal bleachers did my back no favors. i came home instead of going out with a group of people. i don't think many of the people going were drinkers, which i have to have to be in public anymore. there's the beauty of being fucked in the head my friends. good times.

enjoy some music people:

Power was excellent last night. another ending that blew my mind. next week is the season finale. that should be an interesting one.

ROH was great last night. all of the matches were excellent.

the New York Yankees lost again yesterday 6-0. the manager kept the starter in one batter too long. hoping for a double play, it turns into a grand slam. whoops. now the lead is down to 2 1/2. and when you hear people with the team start talking about the lead in the loss column, that's a sign of panic. Tanaka pitches today to try to avoid the sweep. i won't say today is a MUST win, but it's pretty damn close.

now enjoy some culture kids:

tonight on the DVR will be Big Brother, the season finale of True Detective, Ballers, The Brink, Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. should be a very interesting night of television.

i figure i probably will watch all of that tonight or early in the morning. if my writing session starts a fire on the page, i may end up typing all night anyway. that is something i really wouldn't mind at the moment.

that's all for me today. was pleased to wake up from my morning nap to watch Arsenal lose. that certainly has started the day off on a good foot.

hope everyone has a great Sunday. may the drinks be cool and the bodies hot. unless you're into something the opposite, which is fine with me, i don't try to judge. it's not my job.

at least i saved $60

i was tempted to get the UFC ppv last night, but i decided not to as i figured the main event wasn't going to last long enough for that kind of money. and when i turned on ESPN at 1:30 in the morning and they are describing Ronda beating Bethe in 34 seconds, i figured i just saved myself $60. i'm really happy she knocked her out. i figured she might actually break every bone in her body if she wanted to. and i really doubt there is a woman on the planet that can beat her right now. here's her post match interview:

the New York Yankees lost 8-2 last night. the rubber match of the series is this afternoon. i really hope to be enjoying a victory beer early this evening.

my sister, mother and i got the furniture from IKEA put together without any fights or arguments. i said that's an obvious sign that we've matured and are old. my sister is getting ready to go to South Africa in a few weeks i believe. i reminded her not to kill any lions while she's there.

Power was excellent last night. i thought for a hot second they killed off the main character last night, bu they didn't. it was another classic ending. i really like how the series is progressing by adding another wrinkle to the story each week.

ROH was great last night. anytime i get to watch the Young Bucks wrestle, i take advantage of it. throw in AJ Styles and Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly reuniting and you have a great hour of wrestling.

enjoy some Sunday tunes:

tonight on the DVR will be Big Brother, True Detective, The Strain, Last Week Tonight, Ballers, The Brink, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. considering i actually got a decent night of sleep, i'll probably watch all of the shows tonight.

i did watch the Community Shield this morning. hard to watch a game where you want both teams to lose, but i did get a good laugh when Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0. Wenger finally gets a win over Mourinho. and you could tell after the match, both coaches hate each other. i especially liked when Mourinho chucked the runners up medal into the stands. pure class, all the time. these are the moments when i'm so happy he's never coached Manchester United.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

waiting for the rain

so when i woke up this morning with my back feeling like an elephant slept on it, i figured it had rained some overnight. sure enough, it did. then the sun came out and made shit sticky as hell. that only means the thunderstorms this afternoon will have more force behind them. good times.

mom found a box this morning as she was going through her room. she called me into her room and gave it to me. much to my surprise, it was some of my father's shit. a couple of really nice watches. and after i moved those out of the way, the oh shit moments started. i was now looking at the medals he got while serving in Vietnam. then his dog tags. then some money from China and Vietnam. a necklace from his high school baseball team. as i'm sitting there somewhat stunned, i believe my mother put it best. he really did just leave his whole damn life behind. the box is now tucked away in my closet. i have no fucking clue what i'm going to do with it.

here's some music, please enjoy:

i spent a good portion of this morning finding FREE music on NoiseTrade. i'll provide those links below in the music section.

the New York Yankees lost last night 5-3. they play this afternoon in Boston. hopefully they finish out the last game before the All-Star break with a win.

Power was excellent last night. the ending was really, really good. to see the look on Angela's face when she finally put two and two together was fucking perfect.

as tempted as i was to get the UFC fight last night, i didn't. i guess i missed one hell of a ppv.

i did catch ROH this morning. good thing i had it on the DVR as i was so damn tired i fell asleep after the first match last night. the show was excellent as always. the main event set up what should be a great match for their 200th episode next week.

ladies and gentlemen, some poetry:

i'm hoping the storms don't get too bad today. and i am especially hoping they don't fuck up the satellite feed tonight. the evening will start off with Big Brother. from there, it will be absolute chaos. all of these shows are on tonight, The Strain, True Detective, The Brink, Ballers, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. the DVR will be busy tonight.

on top of all that, since it will be raining, i won't be shocked when mom decides she wants to do some shit around the house. especially since she knows if we're going to get a second car, we should probably clean out a spot for it in the garage first. good times.

i hope everyone has a good Sunday. live it up boys and girls, you never know how many more you have in ya.

nothing more annoying than fireworks going off at 3 in the morning

the one thing i knew i would hate about moving away from the farm would be being so fucking close to other people. yesterday was the perfect example. July 4th on the farm was really, just another fucking day. July 4th in "town", it's a big to do. and when every other jackass is shooting off fireworks, it gets a little fucking annoying after a few hours. i wrote a poem sort of about this while on the toilet this morning. i suppose i do my best thinking there. hopefully, i'll write a few more today, although i imagine mom is going to keep me busy.

and it looks like another day of sunshine here. so, there is a little part of me that would like to actually go out and enjoy it. i haven't had my summer ritual bad sunburn yet.

enjoy some music before i get to the events of yesterday:

i did watch all of the Copa America final yesterday. i was stunned that Argentina blew that chance to win at the death of regulation. and then a little more stunned when Chile beat them in penalty kicks, 4-1. hard to believe Messi can be so good with his club and then be virtually invisible at times with his country. congrats to Chile on their first ever Copa America title.

the New York Yankees scored early yesterday and were cruising. cruising to the point where i actually fell asleep. so, imagine my surprise when i woke up to a 2-2 score, right after Betances blew the save by giving up a 2 run homer. i cleared my eyes and settled in for the bottom of the 9th. Tex got a miracle double. Jose Pirela came in to pinch run for him. Chris Young couldn't get a bunt down but managed to work a walk anyway. that brought up Ramon Flores:
walk off wins in back to back days. i'll take it. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

the rest of the night was helping mom put up some stuff around the house, carry in boxes from the garage and watch some fireworks:

i did watch most of ROH last night (i finished it up this morning). a great main event between Red Dragon and Elgin vs. The Kingdom. and if you haven't seen Dalton Castle wrestle, i urge EVERYONE to do so.

another music break as i need to get some water:

after the Yankees game today, the USA women play Japan in the finals of the Women's World Cup. i can't believe the USA hasn't won the World Cup since 1999. hopefully that changes. after that is over, it will be time for the Sunday night shows. now, all of this will be on the DVR as i have no clue how long the soccer game will go. so, tonight i'll be watching Big Brother (mostly just to see the little details of what i already know), True Detective, Ballers and The Brink. closing out the night will be the season finale of Penny Dreadful. i saw this morning that the show will be coming back in 2016 for season 3. that made me very, VERY happy. hopefully the season finale is a great one.

i imagine if i still have any energy left, i will be doing some typing late tonight. i'm hoping the words keep on flowing after that poem i wrote this morning. it has the makings of a really good one.

that is all for me today. i hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July. enjoy the rest of the weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
