well, last night sucked

every blue moon or so, i'll have one of those nights where i apologize to the 8 year old me, fully understanding why suicide would have been the better choice. between watching my teams lose, the agony of love and knee pain, it's amazing i bother to get out of bed some days.

i'm not sure what happened with the muse last night. she called me crying and so damn hysterical, i couldn't make out a damn thing she was saying. and this morning she tells me how i wasn't helpful. she won't talk about it but is sending me clues. if i am reading these correctly, i think the muse may be going to jail soon. yet another sign we were meant to be i guess.

the New Orleans Saints lost to Dallas last night, 13-10. the Saints couldn't find a rhythm on offense for basically the entire game. i'm really hoping the Cowboys just didn't provide the blueprint for the rest of the league.

the New York Rangers lost in Ottawa last night, 3-0.

thankfully, The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon were reruns last night. i'm not sure why the DVR records things i have already watched and deleted.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Will & Grace was very funny last night.

The Last Days of Knight was about the final days at Indiana for Bobby Knight.  it was very good.

Atlanta will be playing Portland this year for the MLS Cup..

to top off everything last night, i think arthritis has now invaded my left knee. oh joy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, two episodes of Room 104 and Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Tour Bus.

i'll be at UD Arena tonight watching the Dayton Flyers take on the #25 team in the country, Mississippi State. i believe mom is going to go to the game tonight with me. it's a sellout and i think the game is on tonight on the CBS Sports Network.

i'll be going to the grocery store before we go to the game. it's foggy as hell today, so this will be fun.

i'll be on here tomorrow in the morning, before Manchester United plays.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

one of those days where you would really like the sun to shine...

i hate the grey days of winter. blah does nothing for me anymore.

i did get all of my Christmas shopping done last night. 7 things for my sister and 7 things for my mother. hopefully they like what i got. i usually do a pretty good job of getting things they like or understand it's for shits and giggles.

i had a nice, long conversation with the muse last night, probably around 2 1/2 hours. i will once again say publicly, if this isn't the woman i'm supposed to spend the rest of my life with, i'm truly fucked.

the season finale of Total Divas was pretty good last night.

NXT was good last night.

205 Live was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Will & Grace and The Last Days of Knight.

the New York Rangers play at Ottawa tonight. hopefully, they can beat them again this week.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Dallas. i'd love to see the Saints win their 11th game in a row tonight.

the conclusion of the MLS playoffs second leg of the semi-finals is tonight. Atlanta United at New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers at Sporting KC.

i did listen to episode 214 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2018/11/29/notsam-wrestling-214-josh-mathews

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. mom has to go with me as the pharmacy fucked up her Medicare once again.

it will be a quick blog tomorrow as the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow night at home against Mississippi State. more on that tomorrow.

hopefully the sun exists where you are today. it's damn near dark here already.

a creative outburst...

i have my days where i get a wild hair up my ass and i kind of just fly off the handle. between a couple poems published, writing 5 new ones, doing a new SoundCloud recording and a book review in roughly 24 hours or so... i'd like to think of that as a creative outburst. honestly, i wish i had more of them. i'm doing a little each day trying to defeat the overwhelmingly high amount of apathy in my life. the joy of being a stubborn fuck is i probably will keep fighting it until i die. and as much as a part of me wishes that would be soon, i think the better angels have other plans. although, i don't trust either of them. welcome to my reality.

i had to take some stuff back to the post office for mom today. i figured when i was out, i'd hit up the local grocery store since we were low on bread. she wanted lunch from Wendy's today, so that was my final stop. i don't know what to do now that i have a garage door opener that will actually work from across the street. mom seems to be doing a little better today. she has to remind herself sometimes she has spinal stenosis. i think her depression is from her inability to cope with the fact she can't do what she could just a few years ago. and with insurance and her old employer constantly fucking around with her, i do think she's going to snap one of these days. that will be interesting to say the least.

i didn't mind who got voted off The Voice last night. they are now at the final ten. it should be very interesting to see who wins the show. my top 3 are Kennedy, Kymberli and Kirk. of course, all 3 are black, so i will be pleasantly surprised if any of them actually win.

Smackdown was much, much better than Raw last night. thank god.

i did watch both episodes of NXT UK this afternoon. they were both really good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and the season finale of Total Divas. i'll watch 205 Live and NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

a big thank you to Capital One for actually getting the gift card i ordered with my Rewards points to me long before i thought they would. now, i can maybe get all my Christmas shopping done tonight.

i saw today on the news that it is supposed to warm up into the 50's this weekend. it currently feels like the fucking teens right now. so, i suppose everyone is going to be fucking sick for the month of December. joy.

i'll probably be on here earlier tomorrow as the New Orleans Saints play tomorrow night.

that's all for me kids.

book review: Brain Lace by Karina Bush

anyone that knows me knows how much i admire the pure talent of Karina Bush. her poetry is a breath of fresh air, if you're into having your mind twisted and every raw nerve in your body vibrate with a sensation rarely felt or known.

Brain Lace is a book that dives into the meta of love, lust, technology, all wrapped into the dystopian world we have devolved into. the stand out poems to me were "Sutra Of The Computer Body", "Mine" and "Cloud IX".

Karina has a way of writing that makes me smack myself in the face and wonder why i never put those words together in that order. just as her previous books have done, Brace Lace is another book that you can read in one sitting and feel completely different when you are finished.

i urge everyone to get this book, it's worth every second of your time.

my latest SoundCloud recording... "your beauty deserves so much more"

this is a poem i wrote for the muse a few months ago. i told her when it got published, i would record it. here is a link to that recording: https://soundcloud.com/j-j-campbell/your-beauty-deserves-so-much-more-by-jj-campbell

of course, the weather forecast was wrong...

it was supposed to be a quiet day, with the snow stopping by early this afternoon. that didn't exactly happen, as it is still fucking snowing at the moment. and i'm running behind. i'm not exactly looking forward to going out in this shit to do the trash next door. joy.

i took mom to get her injection this morning. i really hope this one works longer than the last one did. i'd be thrilled if it lasted until 2019 got here.

i did write 5 poems in the waiting room while mom was getting her injection. i typed those up this afternoon. i think a few of them are really good.

the New York Rangers won last night, 4-2 over Ottawa.

other than the match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins last night, Monday Night Raw was awful.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who will get voted off tonight.

The Truth About Killer Robots was fascinating last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Smackdown.

the Manchester United game today against Young Boys in the Champions League wasn't on television. thank god. United won on a goal in the 91st minute from Marouane Fellaini. it never should have come to that when playing that team at home. anywho, they are now into the knockout round of the Champions League with a game still to play in group play.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i have to go out in temps that feel like the single digits and round up some trash.

when i saw it started snowing late this morning, i just laughed. i guess winter is here. hopefully it doesn't get too bad. i have to take mom to get an injection for her back tomorrow morning.

Axios was really good last night.

Camping was really funny last night.

Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI was good last night. i was amazed i remembered all the names from the Iran-Contra affair.

Ray Donovan was excellent last night.

Escape at Dannemora was great last night.

my poem "the last good dream" has been published at Horror Sleaze Trash. you can find the poem by going here: https://horrorsleazetrash.com/2018/11/25/j-j-campbell-8/

the heart wins again...

i was not expecting Ohio State to play like how i thought they could play all season long yesterday. i had been waiting for months, and with all the shit Michigan talked for the entire week before the game, i figured i would see a better Ohio State team but not the team that exploded for 62 points against the best defense in college football. Ohio State won 62-39. what i enjoyed most was the bewildered looks on the faces of Michigan fans. it's that hard realization that The Game isn't that much fun anymore, especially when you lose every year. now, i'm old enough to remember that feeling from the other side. hell, i still loathe John Cooper to this day because of it. but, even with his faults, Urban Meyer is 7-0 against Michigan. and as long as that 0 stays in the loss column, i will be a happy man. Ohio State plays Northwestern in the Big Ten title game next. i think if Ohio State does what it did in 2014 (when they whipped Wisconsin 59-0), they will have a realistic shot at making the playoffs. and if not, they will be in the Rose Bowl, screwing Michigan out of that. all in all, that's a win win situation. yet another senior class from Ohio State that only knows the taste of victory in The Game.

thank god i couldn't watch the Manchester United game yesterday against Crystal Palace. if i have to sit through another 0-0 draw, i will pull my fucking hair out. and as of right now, i'm not far from having to do that. all i did get to see was United being booed off of their home pitch. it looks like they deserved it.

the New York Rangers were up 2-0 yesterday against Washington. next time i flipped back over to the game, Washington was winning. sadly, that didn't change much by the final. the Capitals beat the Rangers 5-3. well, there goes the home winning streak.

i did watch that crazy fucking game between LSU and Texas A&M last night. that was one for the ages. A&M won 74-72 in 7 OT.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Camping, Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI, Ray Donovan and Escape at Dannemora. i do plan on watching the WWE 2018 Starrcade Special sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i will probably also watch some of the MLS playoffs today as well.

the rest of the day, i will probably catch up on some sleep. of course, the weather is supposed to turn to shit later today. figures, i have to take mom to get an injection into her back on Tuesday.

so, mom called the company she used out at the farm to look at our garage door yesterday. at least, she thought it was the company she used. turns out it wasn't but it worked out well. they checked it out and of course, like most things in this house, our garage door opener was the cheapest kind you could get when it was put in 25 years ago. one of the brackets broke when i opened it yesterday. they offered mom a discount on a new opener and thankfully, she took the offer. about 45 minutes later, we had a top of the line garage opener with a lifetime warranty. as i told her, it will be worth it in the long run.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

i have no clue when i'll be on here on Monday.

the heart against the brain...

today is the day where Ohio State plays that shit school up north. and this is the first year in a long time where my heart is not fully aligned with my brain. i will never root for Michigan but even i can tell, they are a better team this year. but, the game is not played on paper. and honestly, when (please, that looks better than if) Ohio State wins today, it will be even sweeter knowing Michigan will have no chance to win the Big Ten title or play for a national championship this season.

the grocery store yesterday wasn't too bad. i went in the afternoon and it was mostly zombies. i felt bad for the young black guy ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. he was trying his best to keep it lively, but you could tell between the weather and the time of day, no one could give two shits.

the Dayton Flyers started off ice fucking cold yesterday against Oklahoma. they dug themselves a pretty deep hole. but, like a couple thousand times before, they dug themselves out of that hole in the second half. sadly, they couldn't hold on to that lead and lost 65-54. 2 observations from their games in the Bahamas... the free throw shooting must get better, and they will not win any games this season where Josh Cunningham only gets 5 points. their next game is at home on November 30th against Mississippi State.

the New York Rangers laid an egg on national television yesterday, losing at Philadelphia, 4-0. the game was so bad that instead of watching the 3rd period, i took a shower instead. the Rangers play Washington this afternoon at home.

VICE was very interesting last night.

both episodes of Room 104 last night were great.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Tour Bus was about Bootsy Collins last night. it was great.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

Manchester United plays this morning at home against Crystal Palace. i don't think the game is on television, so i'll just follow it online.

so by this afternoon i will be either really happy or beyond fucking pissed. United, Ohio State and the Rangers play back to back to back. i hope at least a couple of them win. it's been raining and i could use the alcohol.

i only got 4 hours of sleep and wouldn't you know, this morning the garage door started to fuck up. it never fails.

my sister is going back home today. 3 days is about as long as she can stand to stay here. she's a little bitchy this morning, so i know she would rather be at her home.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

the day after...

i have never gone out shopping for Black Friday. i'm just not that big of a fan of capitalism to participate. today is no exception. i'm only planning on going out to the grocery store this afternoon because mom has pills that need to be picked up.

i was hoping to get most or all of my Christmas shopping done yesterday, but of course that didn't happen. i usually use my credit card rewards to get gift cards to cover what i will get at Amazon.com for Christmas. well, none of my rewards programs do e-gift cards for Amazon anymore. so, whenever the cards arrive in the mail, i'll have enough to get my shopping done.

if anyone would like to donate some money to me, my PayPal account will gladly accept it.

the Dayton Flyers hung with Virginia for most of the game yesterday. it really pissed me off that Dayton's coach thought his team could out Virginia Virginia and win the game that way. they needed to up the tempo greatly and get Virginia to play faster than they wanted to. instead, he chose the route where Dayton would have to play perfect to win. dumb ass. Dayton lost 66-59. well, at least they beat the spread. Dayton will play Oklahoma later this morning in the 3rd place game.

the New Orleans Saints won last night over Atlanta 31-17. that's 10 wins in a row for the Saints.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Room 104 and Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Tour Bus.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at Philadelphia. hopefully they can keep their good play going today.

after that is over, i'll be going to the grocery store.

i will probably be on here early tomorrow as Saturday is looking like a crazy sports day for me. more on that tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. if you are or already have been shopping today, i hope you find some good deals.

Happy Thanksgiving

a happy thanksgiving to everyone out there. i wish you a great day and plenty of alcohol to get through the dysfunction.

Vice News Tonight had some great shows this week.

the Dayton Flyers shocked the shit out of me last night. they had a great start against Butler last night in the Bahamas and never trailed in the game. now, i hate when they slow the game down late to milk the clock, but, once again, they survived bad coaching. Dayton defeated Butler 69-64. today at 4 PM they play #4 ranked Virginia. i'd love to see Dayton win, but i'm not expecting it. but, by winning the first game last night, they are guaranteed to play another name brand even if they lose this afternoon.

the New York Rangers finally beat the Islanders last night, 5-0. that stopped an eight game losing streak to the them. and it extended the Rangers home winning streak. they are playing so much better than i was expecting this season.

NXT was pretty good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. it will be football and a little college basketball all day and night.

the New Orleans Saints play at home tonight against Atlanta. i'd love to see the Saints absolutely destroy the Falcons tonight and get their 10th win in a row.

the holidays...

before i get into why i hate the holidays, a little poetry news to get to first.

i sent out 11 poems today. 1 to the AuthorsPress in New Delhi, India for a poetry anthology to be published in 2019, 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Academy Of The Heart And Mind. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

coming from a dysfunctional family, i never have liked the holidays. and the more i am removed from my childhood, the more i realize so is any chance of me truly liking them. i can play the part, be civil, etc., but there will never be the pure joy that some people have for these days. so yeah...

i didn't mind who got let go last night on The Voice. all my favorites are still on the show.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i absolutely loved how Daniel Bryan explained his heel turn.

The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night. congrats on becoming an American citizen Jim.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch 205 Live and NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch both episodes of NXT UK this afternoon. they were excellent.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight against Butler down in the Bahamas. this will be Dayton's first true test of the season. i'm hoping they do well tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the fucking Islanders. i'd really love to see the Rangers win tonight.

my sister came down here this afternoon. i believe she's here for the next few days. this is usually when i realize why alcohol was created in the first place.

i had a great conversation with the muse today. anytime you can have a conversation that ranges from the death penalty to fantasy football to exploding crack pipes to Thanksgiving racism... i truly do hope to marry this woman one day.

i will be on here in the morning tomorrow. Dayton will play tomorrow either at 4 PM or 9:30 PM. i really hope Dayton wins tonight, since the New Orleans Saints play Atlanta tomorrow night.

if anyone still has to travel for tomorrow, safe travels. i hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

a gloomy day with the elderly... oh joy

well, my mother is now officially old. i took her out to lunch and to do some shopping today and it was the first time that i actually thought of her as an old woman. having problems with her cane, her sight, her back, moving slower than normal, etc. i feel bad for her. she's always bent over backwards for everyone in her life, except for herself. let that be a lesson for everyone. nice people do really finish last. they get fucked over and fucked over again. i think part of her depression today was from her disability benefits getting cut yesterday. i believe we have to do our depositions sometime in December. i bet the insurance company isn't going to like the fact i have a spot on memory for bullshit.

it probably didn't help things that the grocery store today was a fucking zoo.

so i got home just in time to watch the USA men's national team lose a soccer friendly to Italy 1-0. Italy scored in the 94th minute. that closes out 2018 for the team. hopefully, they will hire a fucking coach soon.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who is going home tonight.

Monday Night Raw was good, but not good enough last night. i flipped over to the football game a ton during the show.

the NFL game last night between the Chiefs and Rams was fucking crazy. the Rams won 54-51 in the highest scoring Monday Night Football game in history.

the New York Rangers won last night over Dallas, 2-1. i really love how this team is playing at home. 6 straight home wins.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice and The Jim Jefferies Show.

the New York Yankees made a trade yesterday. i think it will help them next season, as long as James Paxton can stay healthy. now, they just need to get one more legit good starter and they should have a much better rotation next season.

i have to send out some poems tomorrow and do some cleaning as well. i will hopefully get that done in the morning and then be on here long before Dayton takes on Butler down in the Bahamas tomorrow night. i believe my sister is coming down tomorrow as well. aren't i blessed...

we've had over an inch of rain between last night and today. i guess it's a good thing i got the leaves down to the curb when i did. there's no fucking way i would even try to do it now. mom gets into these moods around the holidays where she wants everything looking nice and clean. it makes me laugh, because the rest of the days, she couldn't give a shit.

thankfully, i got the leaves done before the New Orleans Saints game started yesterday. the Saints absolutely destroyed the Eagles, 48-7. they play Atlanta at home on Thanksgiving night. the last time the Saints were on a run like this was the year they won the Super Bowl. i sure as hell would love to take that ride again.

WWE Survivor Series last night was interesting. the matches i wanted to be good were excellent. the match between Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali was great. and Charlotte beating the shit out of Ronda Rousey was really good. the rest of the card, sadly, was blah at best. and honestly, it should never be like that.

the season finale of Last Week Tonight was hilarious, as always.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

Axios was really good last night.

Ray Donovan was excellent last night.

Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI was good last night. it was all about Watergate. it is kind of funny that it's beyond obvious that the asshole that runs the country is more or less using the Nixon playbook. hopefully, they end up the same way. the next episode is about Iran-Contra.

Escape at Dannemora was very good last night. this will be a show that will win some awards, i can tell that from the first episode.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Dallas. hopefully, their good play at home will continue. i'd love to see them get a win tonight.

i might watch some of the NFL game tonight. the Rams vs. Chiefs should be a good one.

i went to the bank today to make a deposit. it was gloomy as fuck today.

i did do a little poetry work today. i know where my next 6 poems are going. i'm hoping that will happen before Thanksgiving.

i do have a PayPal account now. so, if you want to just give me money, that would be nice.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.
