so, i was up early this morning and got myself to the dealership about 10 minutes before my appointment. 90 fucking minutes later, the new tire was put on the Highlander. at least that bullshit is over with. after that, i went to Big Lots. mom wanted me to look for some slippers for her and i was looking for some baseball cards. i got 3 packs of 2022 Topps Series 2. didn't find any slippers for her. after that, i had to go to Kroger to pick up a prescription for my mother. thankfully, i got there before they took their lunch break. when i got back to the Highlander, i noticed that Croatia and Brazil was going to penalty kicks. i started to race home, hoping i would get to see a little bit of that. by the time i got in the garage, i saw the news.
Croatia stunned Brazil today at the World Cup, beating them 1-1 (4-2) on penalty kicks. i did get the chance to watch the second game. that was another holy shit affair. Argentina built a 2 goal lead only to watch the Netherlands score 2 late goals to send the game to extra time. the game went to penalty kicks and Argentina won, 2-2 (4-3). Croatia vs. Argentina in the World Cup semifinal should be an entertaining war.
i've got my final load of laundry in the washer. i did go through the baseball cards. i got a few good ones today.
Vice News Tonight had two great episodes this week.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
NJPW was really good last night.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Young Rock and two episodes of Random Acts of Flyness. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
i did listen to episode 425 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
so, i knew i wanted to get some damn stuff done today. this blog was supposed to be done long before now, but that fucking thing called life always gets in the way. but, i did manage to get to the bank, get to Rite Aid and get some groceries this morning. i was actually feeling good for a change. i took a COVID test a bit ago, and the results were... inconclusive. so, i guess i will take another one a little later today. mom is supposed to get discharged today. i think i know what nursing home she is going to, but i'll have more details later today. i'm hoping the case manager will be calling at some point today.
i have the Dayton Flyers game on in the background. they are playing Robert Morris today. they should win.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was very good last night.
i had to watch Young Rock this morning as for some fucking reason our local NBC had no picture last night, just audio. it was a pretty good episode.
Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night. the show will be back in January.
just had to give myself my Trulicity shot.
the New York Knicks lost last night at Golden State, 111-101.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i have friends, fellow writers, etc. that live in Ukraine. to say i'm a bit pissed and worried at the moment would be an understatement. what fuckhead Putin is trying to do is recreate the Soviet Union. he wants his legacy as a former piece of shit KGB spy, to be one of the great Russian leaders who rebuilt the communist empire. this is such a step backward from where this fucking world should be going, it pisses me the fuck off. now granted, i am not the biggest fucking fan of capitalism, but i am a fucking fan of freedom. so, anything we can do to support the FREE people of Ukraine, we should do. one example is what i just did:
to all the readers of this blog in Europe, Asia, shit wherever, please open your fucking mind and hearts and realize what is going on. i hope we don't have the precursor of World War 3 on our hands, but to be honest, aren't we fucking due? please stay safe, resist and never be afraid to die for freedom.
now back to regularly scheduled programming...
the Dayton Flyers won last night over UMass, 82-61. when the offense is clicking and the defense is dictating tempo, Dayton is a fun team to watch.
the USWNT defeated Iceland last night, 5-0. that was more like it ladies. congrats on winning the SheBelieves Cup.
AEW was great last night.
both episodes of Snowfall last night were excellent.
Miesha won Celebrity Big Brother last night. Carson won America's favorite houseguest. best part was probably watching Todrick learn everyone knows he's a fucking asshole.
I Can See Your Voice was good last night.
Batwoman was excellent last night. the finale is next week.
enjoy some music:

mom is supposed to have a physical therapy session tomorrow. if it gets really icy, i doubt she will want to go.

i wrote 4 more poems today. i'm not sure why it has become difficult for me to write anymore. i have a few theories of course, mostly involving my mother and a huge case of burnout. but, i'm not accepting the excuses. that's the beauty of having an asshole ego. so yeah, i really like the 4 i wrote today. i think i know where my next 13 poems are going for submissions. i will hopefully do that tomorrow morning.
the New York Rangers defeated the Devils last night, 6-2. of course, they lost Ryan Reeves in the game due to some dirty shit from P.K. Subban. i am happy that they went after him for the rest of the game. at least i know this team is going to stick up for each other. and i do like how the new coach plays his system. let the players do what they do best, be hard as hell to play against, and have some fucking fun. this should be a good season, hopefully.
Vice News Tonight had some really interesting stories this week.
AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.
Rhodes To The Top was good last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night. i had no clue who the Baby was.
Alter Ego was good last night.
American Horror Story: Double Feature was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:

the USMNT takes on Jamaica tonight in World Cup qualifying. i'm really hoping the USA wins tonight.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

so, mom finally felt good enough to go out shopping today. it was muggy as fuck outside, so she'll be worthless for the next few days. i could tell while we were shopping for plants that she was really starting to drag. before we went to Lowe's, we went to Shoe Carnival to get her some new shoes. she's lost so much weight, none of her shoes fit anymore. thankfully, we did find two pairs that she really likes. we got a few plants at Lowe's. thankfully, the rain has held off enough that we got everything planted. she likes how it looks, so i'm happy.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
i have trash to pick up here and next door and dinner to cook, so that's all for me kids.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
it never fails. i went to bed around around 2:30 last night. sure enough, 6:30 this morning i was out of bed to go to the bathroom. i knew i wasn't going to fall back asleep, so i took my blood sugar, got the morning paper and decided to try and actually write some poems. thankfully, i wrote 4 poems this morning. i typed those up and i am pretty pleased with how they came out.
i know i should have more poems to type up soon as i will be stuck in the Highlander over in Indiana when mom is having her oral surgery done. so, i'm looking to get some poems out next weekend i imagine.
the Yankees lost again last night, 6-1 to Baltimore. when Gerrit Cole struck out 8 of the first 9 batters he faced, there would have been no way to convince me this would end up being another game in the loss column for him. the Yankees offense is fucking inept at the moment. they will try to split the series this afternoon.
i did watch the Kentucky Derby yesterday. i was a little surprised to see Authentic win.
here are your highlights from the NBA last night:

i actually got enough sleeves this time to get all my baseball, hockey, basketball and football cards ready to be sold. now, i just need to put them in some fucking order and get the word out.
i don't have a clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
it certainly doesn't feel like Labor Day weekend, that's for sure.

my father blessed me with the asshole gene. and on these days, where my patience is thin, my arthritis is raging, i had 3 shits before 10:30 this morning and the incompetence of the world is driving me up a fucking wall... the asshole gene will eventually come out. the part of me that wants to see the world burn. the part of me that wants to run every fucking driver on their phone off a bridge. the part of me that wants to play with matches and gasoline. i'm not sure if any of you understand how difficult it is to control that fucker for 43 years. i'm not saying i deserve an award, but i'm not saying not to give me one either.
the grocery store was a fucking zoo today. how i managed to keep everything under $150 is beyond me.
i was up at 5:20 this morning. i made it to the hospital on time. the tech doing the ultrasound was this little blonde i would have broken in two. the whole process took twenty minutes. she was pressing hard enough that i knew as soon as i got home, i was going to have to shit. good times.
the New York Yankees start a series up in Boston tonight (weather permitting). i'd love to see them sweep all 4 games.
Big Brother went exactly how i wanted it to last night. Jessica got evicted. Nicole won HOH. Cliff won the VETO. and thank god, they finally evicted Christie from the house.
i did watch most of the NFL game last night. Green Bay defeated Chicago 10-3. at least the game made me feel like going to sleep was going to be pretty damn easy.

my sister is supposed to come down here tonight for her birthday weekend. that should be interesting.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

Camping was really funny last night.
Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI was good last night. i was amazed i remembered all the names from the Iran-Contra affair.
Ray Donovan was excellent last night.
Escape at Dannemora was great last night.

i was in a pretty good mood yesterday. the poems i sent were well received and i was feeling good. i sent off what i thought was this sweet little note to the muse and next thing i knew, she was jumping down my throat. i do understand her frustration with everything going on with her life, but it once again reaffirmed my widely held belief of myself... my timing with women is fucking horrific. so, probably for the millionth time in my life, i'm back in the friend pile. now, i'm not complaining, i don't have many friends as it is. but, to be 42 and be more single than even single feels is really dragging on me. a little peek behind the curtain for all of you, and this is something i have only revealed in a few poems that haven't been published yet. a few weeks ago i did a little brain expansion through some alcohol and meditation and unearthed a little gem of a conversation i had with my father when i was 7 years old. i quickly realized why i had it buried deep inside of me. this was the time my father called me a failure and told me i would always be one. to think about that and realize my father willingly never spoke a fucking word to me the last 20 years of his life truly hits home these days. and it gets harder to keep going knowing i can't prove that asshole wrong and get to rub it in his face. so now i'm wondering if my subconscious keeps bringing it up thinking of it as motivation for me or is it simply tormenting me. it feels like no matter how much i try to get better or healthier or more positive in my life, the powers that be within me have no fucking interest.
add on some rain, fucking back spasms and everything else in this clusterfuck... i get more amazed each day i don't kill myself. of course, i know if i do that, i have to go somewhere else. killing myself at home would destroy the resale value of the house.
the New York Yankees played like shit last night and loss to Oakland, 8-2. the Yankees lead in the wildcard over Oakland is down to 3 1/2 games. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series in Seattle tomorrow night.
Big Brother was good last night. i fully expect Scottie to get voted out tonight.
NXT was really good last night.
the Mae Young Classic last night was really good as well.
Lucha Underground was good last night.
Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night. that ending was a classic.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Snowfall.
the NFL season starts tonight with Atlanta at Philadelphia. i'm sure i'll probably watch some of the game tonight, rooting against both teams.
i just watched the Aaron Boone press conference. hard to believe he's only the 3rd manager the New York Yankees have had since 1996. i hope the best for him. if he's the right guy for the job, they have all the makings of another dynasty.
the New York Rangers found a way last night and defeated Pittsburgh 4-3. the Penguins hit the post 4 times and the winning goal went in off of one of their players. that's the beauty of puck luck. The King was ill last night, so his backup had to play. 41 saves later, i think he did a fine job.
when Manchester United fell behind yesterday against CSKA Moscow, i was not happy. you could tell the United players truly didn't give a shit. thankfully, that attitude changed in the second half. it's been years since they have trailed at halftime and come from behind to win. this win gave them a group win and their most points in the Champions League in years. i'm hoping they get a good draw and actually have a decent chance to advance in the knockout rounds. and i'm hoping yesterday's 2-1 win serves them well this weekend in the Manchester derby.
Drop the Mic was pretty good last night.
i was not surprised with the two that got voted off The Voice last night.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was pretty good last night as well.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Total Divas. i'll watch NXT on WWE Network when i get home from the basketball game sometime tonight.
it looks like i will be going to the basketball game alone tonight. it's probably for the best as mom's Meniere's Disease has really been fucking with her lately. Dayton takes on Tennessee Tech tonight. if they don't win this game, i know i need to brace myself for one long ass season.
i think i will probably get up early as fuck tomorrow so i can start working on the poems and get them all out in the morning. if that happens, i might just get all the fucking Christmas cards and gifts for my friends and fans done in the afternoon. and if that all happens, i'll be on after that to write a blog. of course, the weather could turn to shit, my arthritis could decide to fuck me in the ass and i could just say fuck it and do nothing. welcome to my life in December.

so, i just saw that North Korea has said that Trump's comments was a declaration of war. i suppose this could get real interesting real quick.
i guess i should get the poems out before the bombs go off...
WWE No Mercy was really good last night, right until the end. the tag team title match was outstanding. even Roman Reigns vs. John Cena was good. but to have Brock beat Braun clean after just one F5 was a little anti-climatic for me. they built up Braun so damn good and then to have him lose like that defeated the whole purpose in my eyes. i'm sure Monday Night Raw will be used to fix the "mistakes", like Enzo winning the Cruiserweight championship.
the season finale of Ballers was pretty good last night.
Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious as usual.
Ray Donovan was really good last night.
Episodes reminded why i want to be cremated last night.
The Deuce was excellent once again last night.
Vice Principals was very funny last night.
The Vietnam War last night was mostly about the Tet Offensive and 1968. that has always been one of the years that has fascinated me the most about this country. between the assassinations, the riots and a never ending war... and to me the start of the greatest time in music history (68-72). i'm sure tonight's episode will be good as well.
holy shit, the New Orleans Saints actually won a game yesterday. i was slightly shocked they whipped Carolina on the road 34-13. the Saints defense surprised me the most, picking off Cam Newton 3 times. 2 of those led to touchdowns by the offense. that's pretty much the blueprint on how to win. they next play the Dolphins in London.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday 9-5. Aaron Judge did hit 2 more home runs to give him 48 on the season. that's one behind the rookie record. the Yankees play a makeup game at home this afternoon against Kansas City.
enjoy some music:

the woman sitting across from me in the waiting room today, while i was waiting for mom to come out from her mammogram, was a damn near identical match to a huge crush i had in high school. i kept playing it off that i wasn't blatantly staring at her. now, this woman had a different name (my hearing is way too good for public places sometimes) and is probably 20 years younger than the crush, but it was a nice blast from the past. i'm sure there will be poems in the next few days.
last night was one of those nights where sports fucking crushed me. first off, the New York Yankees had a long ass rain delay before the game started. then, they couldn't hold on to a 5 run lead and eventually lost to Baltimore 7-6 on a walk off home run from future Yankee Manny Machado. the Yankees picked the wrong night to lose as Boston won last night. hopefully the Yankees can win the series tonight.
the USA played like shit last night. the defense was absolutely in shambles for most of the game. and when Honduras took the lead early in the first half, the nightmare started playing in my head. thankfully, Bobby Wood scored late to salvage a 1-1 draw that leaves the USA in 4th place in the standings. now, they next face Panama at home. Panama is 1 point ahead of them. the best the USA could finish in this now is probably 3rd, but 3rd will keep them from having to win a playoff to get into the World Cup. as much as i want them to make it, part of me knows them missing it could be best in the long run. i'm not sure why a coach would start a guy in his 40's on defense in 100 degree heat in a game that you must win. of course, the coach also believed a draw was good enough. now, if they somehow lose to Panama, he'll understand the foolish nature of that statement.
American Horror Story was fucking great last night. i think i'm really going to enjoy this season.
Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night.
Hard Knocks was good last night. it also showed why Tampa is a clown organization.
Smackdown was really good last night. the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton was as good as i thought it could be.
205 Live was pretty good last night as well. it will be interesting to see if Neville takes the advice Chris Jericho gave him about Enzo Amore.
