like squeezing water out of a rock...

this is how i have talked about writing poems here lately. now, last night, i managed to get 4 poems out of that rock. whenever i write a line that sends a shiver down my back, i know i'm on to something. hopefully, i'll get a few more written this weekend.

so, the New York Rangers surprised me this afternoon. they traded their captain to Anaheim for a cheaper defenseman and a 4th round draft pick. the coup in the trade was Anaheim took on the contract. the Rangers didn't have to retain any salary. so, now they have plenty of cap space and 3 first round draft picks to go get something to really galvanize this team.

the Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh.

Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was pretty funny last night.

NJPW was good last night.

the NFL game last night between the Packers and Lions was really good. the Lions won, 34-31.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

so, the Rangers just signed their goalie to an extension that is 8 years and 92 million. crazy crazy day.

other than hockey tonight, i might watch some college football.

i'm going to try to get some Christmas shit up this weekend around the house. mom has said she's leaving it up to me, so it might just be the Charlie Brown Christmas tree and that's it.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

the Christmas cards will be going out on Monday, sort of.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i need to get started on dinner tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning before Manchester United plays.

until tomorrow kids...

well, one good thing from the Saints loss happened last night...

sadly, i think the New Orleans Saints are inventing new ways to lose now. more on that bullshit in a bit. but, it did piss me off enough that i actually wrote 4 poems last night. they are the first poems i have written since October 25th. our national nightmare is now over. i'm hoping to write a few more and get some submissions out this week.

so, the New Orleans Saints were up 16-3 last night at Tampa Bay. and then the offense decided to shit the bed and Tampa Bay came back to win the game in the final seconds, 17-16. i almost think sometimes the Saints have forgotten they don't have a first round draft pick in the next draft. so all these fucking losses are doing is giving the Eagles, arguably the best team in the NFL, a better first round pick. and they managed to piss me off so much that i couldn't really enjoy the victory of the night.

the victory was from the New York Rangers. they came from behind last night and defeated St. Louis, 6-4. that was a much needed victory. and hopefully, it will be something they build upon.

The Voice was really good last night. i can't wait to see who makes the finals.

That's My Jam was very funny last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, NXT and the season finale of Tales From The Territories.

so, right as i was getting ready to call this tire place on the other side of the county, the Toyota dealership called me and left a message. i didn't see the message because i was helping mom with her breakfast. i called the dealership back and they wanted to know if i still needed the tire replaced. i said yes. they said they can order it and get it on the Highlander on Friday. i said that works for me. so, Friday morning i'll be taking the Highlander in and getting the front left tire replaced.

today at the World Cup, Morocco stunned Spain in penalty kicks, 0-0 (3-0). Portugal put on a show against Switzerland, winning 6-1. Morocco against Portugal in the quarterfinals should be a spectacle.

some of mom's christmas gifts have started showing up. 3 of the 5 so far. now, i just need to get the christmas trees up i guess.

i need to figure out dinner and get the trash ready to go out.

plus, i need to help mom pay some bills, so that's all for me kids.

feel like a zombie...

so, i guess i needed some sleep. 3 hours just wasn't going to cut it for today. i didn't get to bed until 6:30 this morning. i was up a little before 9:30. did my usual morning shit, got the Christmas cards into the mailbox, had breakfast and went to my massage chair. next thing i know, i was waking up and it was 4 in the afternoon. 3 of you getting Christmas cards from me this year will have yours mailed out tomorrow. i love a rural post office that closes a little after 4. but, since i have to get bloodwork done at 8:45 in the morning tomorrow, i know i will get to a post office on time then. good times.

NXT War Games was really good last night.

VICE was really good last night.

Dexter: New Blood was excellent last night.

Yellowjackets was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night.

Hightown was pretty good last night.

Succession was amazing last night. the season finale is next week.

Insecure was very good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and The Voice.

i didn't get any writing done yesterday. it started to rain like the world was ending last night and my arthritis decided it was time for a bender. joy.

so, the plan for tomorrow is to get my blood drawn. then, go to the post office. and then i get to have breakfast and will hopefully get some poems written. and oh by the way, it is supposed to snow tomorrow. good times.

i did catch a little of the MLS yesterday.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

two out of three ain't bad...

might as well get the negative out of the way first. the Dayton Flyers didn't learn a damn thing from their first game. yesterday against SMU, they had way too many damn turnovers and hardly did any of the little things correct. they lost 66-64 on a buzzer beater. they deserved to lose. the bench was non-existent once again. until that problem is solved, every game this season is going to be closer than it probably should be. they next play on Tuesday at home against Northern Kentucky. hopefully, they will win.

Manchester United went down 1-0 yesterday in the first half against West Ham. once again, they flipped the switch at halftime (mostly because Bruno and Rashford came on) and caught fire. they scored 3 goals in the second half (Pogba, Greenwood, Rashford) and won 3-1. they now are just two points from the top of the league and are 4th in the table. next up will be a game in Germany where they need to get a result to advance in the Champions League.

Ohio State was missing their head coach, 23 players and some other coaches yesterday against Michigan State. if you didn't know that before the game started, you never would have known with the way they played. they destroyed Michigan State, 52-12. next up will be a game against that shit school from the north.

ROH was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

Austin City Limits last night was the episode i had accidently deleted with Sharon Van Etten and Lucy Dacus.

Bluegrass Underground had The Devil Makes Three on last night. i have always really liked that band.

my baseball and football cards from Repacked Wax did show up yesterday. it was pretty cool seeing football cards from before i was born. but, the kicker to everything was the 1989 Fleer Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card i put from the baseball packs. HOLY SHIT!!!!!! that card alone is worth more than what i paid for all 10 packs. that almost made up for me being pissed that Dayton lost.

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Tribute to the Troops, Euphoria, the finale of Murder on Middle Beach, Power Book II: Ghost, Shameless, Your Honor and two episodes of Moonbase 8. i'll be watching NXT War Games for most of the night on WWE Network.

the New Orleans Saints play this afternoon at Atlanta. if the Saints win, they will clinch a spot in the playoffs. hopefully, the Saints will be able to complete the sweep of the Falcons today and win their 9th game in a row.

i will probably watch a little of the Columbus Crew in the Eastern Conference finals in MLS today.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

not a bad way to start this weekend...

i've spent the last two hours sitting at my computer trying to get updates on the high school i went to. they were trying to win their 3rd state championship in football. given the tornado that basically destroyed Trotwood, the whole town was pulling for a victory today. i don't believe in happy endings, so i was fearing the worse. the game went to OT when Trotwood had a game winning field goal blocked. but, thankfully, Trotwood scored in OT and then intercepted Mansfield Senior on the final play of the game to win 14-7. all 3 of these championships are miracles to me. the team fucking sucked when i was in high school. but, hopefully it lifts the spirits of my former hometown and they truly enjoy it.

https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/state-football-trotwood-madison-wins-third-state-title-with-triumph-over-mansfield-senior/lbuwxjpevEhlWaHQBmXGCM/

the New York Rangers had their backup goalie stand on his head last night (45 saves) and they defeated Columbus 3-2. they are at home tonight against Montreal.

NXT UK was really good last night.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

The Unicorn was very good last night.

i did watch some of the Bears vs. Cowboys last night. i love when the Cowboys lose.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling late last night. you can find that by going here:

shopping at Menards yesterday went pretty well. we found just about everything we were looking for. i thought mom did pretty well. we went to eat after we got done.

the grocery shopping today was crazy. you would think the world was ending. and of course, we've been living on scraps since Thanksgiving, so i had a fucking scroll of shit to buy. thankfully, i kept it under $200.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. this is is going to be a fucking crazy football weekend. Ohio State plays for the Big Ten Championship tomorrow night. the New Orleans Saints have a huge game on Sunday against the 49ers. and, to start the whole weekend off is the Manchester derby. so, i'm hoping to get the blog done before United and City play tomorrow. that way i won't be trying to do one in the afternoon totally pissed off or too fucking drunk.

i do need to figure out who i'm sending Christmas cards/gifts to this year and where the fuck my next round of poems will be going to.

so, the candle will be burning at both ends this evening.

i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. get your shopping done and hopefully your weather doesn't fucking suck this weekend.

finally, my memory is used for good...

the trip to go down to my mother's lawyer's office was pretty uneventful. we eventually found the place and went inside. i really like her lawyer. seems pretty cool and direct, straight to the point. he was absolutely thrilled with what i could remember about her visit with this one doctor. his direct quote was i knocked it out of the park. he thinks my testimony might get her disability money back quickly. i really hope that is the case.

after that, we went out to lunch. of course, we were south of town, where all the people live, so everything was fucking crowded. we ended up at Rusty Bucket. that was the place we would go sometimes after mom's physical therapy sessions. it was a good lunch. of course, as soon as we sat down, the snow started. thankfully, it was just a wet, light snow. it really didn't start to stick until after we got home.

NXT was very good last night.

both episodes of NXT UK yesterday were excellent.

205 Live was good last night as well.

i did listen to episode 215 of Notsam Wrestling this afternoon. you can find that by going here:

i haven't opened the box that came in the mail today yet. i'm hoping it's all the stuff i ordered for Christmas for my mother and sister. that being said, i know need to get going on Christmas cards and the gifts for my fans. i will hopefully get those in the mail next week or so.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. i believe mom has to come along with me to clear up another fuck up at the pharmacy.

if i really get a wild hair up my ass, i might actually get some poems out tomorrow as well. but that all kind of depends on how bad the arthritis is tonight. these cold nights don't really do much good for me anymore.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

finally got that extra hour of sleep

and now i feel groggy. figures.

i just watched the Aaron Boone press conference. hard to believe he's only the 3rd manager the New York Yankees have had since 1996. i hope the best for him. if he's the right guy for the job, they have all the makings of another dynasty.

the New York Rangers found a way last night and defeated Pittsburgh 4-3. the Penguins hit the post 4 times and the winning goal went in off of one of their players. that's the beauty of puck luck. The King was ill last night, so his backup had to play. 41 saves later, i think he did a fine job.

when Manchester United fell behind yesterday against CSKA Moscow, i was not happy. you could tell the United players truly didn't give a shit. thankfully, that attitude changed in the second half. it's been years since they have trailed at halftime and come from behind to win. this win gave them a group win and their most points in the Champions League in years. i'm hoping they get a good draw and actually have a decent chance to advance in the knockout rounds. and i'm hoping yesterday's 2-1 win serves them well this weekend in the Manchester derby.

Drop the Mic was pretty good last night.

i was not surprised with the two that got voted off The Voice last night.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Total Divas. i'll watch NXT on WWE Network when i get home from the basketball game sometime tonight.

it looks like i will be going to the basketball game alone tonight. it's probably for the best as mom's Meniere's Disease has really been fucking with her lately. Dayton takes on Tennessee Tech tonight. if they don't win this game, i know i need to brace myself for one long ass season.

i think i will probably get up early as fuck tomorrow so i can start working on the poems and get them all out in the morning. if that happens, i might just get all the fucking Christmas cards and gifts for my friends and fans done in the afternoon. and if that all happens, i'll be on after that to write a blog. of course, the weather could turn to shit, my arthritis could decide to fuck me in the ass and i could just say fuck it and do nothing. welcome to my life in December.

that's all for me today kids. until tomorrow...

a miserable night of rain

it had to be around 2 in the morning when i started to ache. i knew it was raining outside. the ache has started to leak into my dreams. they are slowly becoming weird acid flashbacks; like Burroughs and Hunter S. Thompson have stopped over for a beer and some good H. i usually don't mind the company, though i would like to have one good night of sleep before i die.

i just happened to check on the Christmas gifts i ordered and one was apparently delivered last night by the post office. my first thought was bullshit. i opened the front door and there it was. thankfully, it was fucking dry. i just love how the post office will never knock on the door or ring the bell when they bring something to the house. thank god i forgot to turn on the outside lights last night. i doubt that package would have still been there this morning.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i thought most of the performers had their best performances of the season last night. they get cut from 8 to 4 tonight. if i had to guess, i think the 4 will be Billy, Sundance, Brendan and We, even though i think there's a small chance Ali gets in over We. here are some of the performances from last night.

Monday Night Raw wasn't horrible last night, but it wasn't great either. so i guess 3 good shows in a row is all they can do now. once again, the whole show is being carried by Jericho and Owens, which speaks well of them and really bad of the creative staff. they certainly could use the KISS theory when it comes to the writing.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Scream Queens and Smackdown. i hope everything records as i won't be home. i'll watch all of that and 205 Live on WWE Network sometime after i get home from the basketball game.

the Dayton Flyers play a Division II school tonight at home. i'm hoping they beat the shit out of them early so the walk-ons get a chance to play tonight.

the New York Rangers play the fucking Islanders tonight. they usually do well when i don't watch, so maybe they will win tonight.

i've got a poem stuck in my head. i'm not sure when the fuck it's going to find its way out, but i'm hoping it's not like normal and it happens when i'm taking a shit.

that's all for me kids. i've got things to do and would like to sneak a nap in before i leave for the game tonight.

what a long ass day

so, i'm typing this from my new computer. i've been up for god knows how long. i didn't sleep well at all. i was hoping a little hard liquor was going to do the trick. sadly i was wrong. but before i get into my long ass Saturday, i need to wrap up my Friday.

Undateable was brilliant once again. NJPW was pretty good. and The Knick was spectacular.

i typed up the 5 poems i wrote the other day on the new computer. i wanted to make sure i had the printer set up correctly and wanted to get used to typing on a regular keyboard once again. shit, it feels weird using a mouse again. but, i won't miss the touch screen at all. as for the poems, i really like them. i have a monster batch of poems ready to unleash on the world. i plan on doing that sometime in the next week. a nice final blast for 2015.

i watched the Manchester United game this morning. i took a shower at halftime, hoping they would do something since i wasn't watching. of course, that didn't happen. yet another 0-0 draw. if i wasn't such a fucking fanatic, i would have given up on this team.
hopefully they know, they HAVE to win their next game in the Champions League.

after that. mom came home with some groceries. i helped put those away and then it was off to see the Dayton Flyers play. Dayton was facing one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the country and Dayton has struggled defending the 3. so i was fearing the worst today. thankfully, the boys got going and kept their foot on the neck of the opponent. Dayton beat North Florida 86-71. and for most of the game, it didn't feel that close.
they next play at Vanderbilt. that will be a tough one for sure.

after the game, we went straight to Best Buy to get the new computer. mom had them put the business version of Office on here. and for the first time, she had them put it in my name. so, i have a Microsoft account now. not that i'll use it or anything. the dude that helped us was pretty cool. that was shocking as most of the Geek Squad there absolutely fucking suck. after that, it was time to eat.

not sure why after not eating for over 8 hours i chose to go to Waffle House. i guess mom really wanted it and i am a glutton for punishment.

once we got home it was plenty of cleaning and then setting up the new computer. it's been a while since i have been on a Dell. but, i think this one should work pretty good.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i've been writing this while watching/listening to Saturday Night Live and now ROH. i believe i also recorded Austin City Limits tonight as well. i'll probably be up for a few more hours so i'll check those out.

i didn't bother to watch any of the college football games today. i figured it would take a miracle for Ohio State to make it back into the playoffs.

the New Orleans Saints play Carolina tomorrow/later today. i fear how bad the Saints are going to lose.

the New York Rangers will try to end another losing streak when they play Ottawa Sunday night. i'm hoping to be enjoying a victory beer later in the evening.

on the DVR Sunday night will be Homeland and The Affair.

sorry, i have to stop typing, Dalton Castle is on ROH right now.

not sure how my fantasy football teams are going to do tomorrow. if all 3 win, i believe i will be in the playoffs in all 3 leagues. i have never done that before, so i'm really hoping it happens.

i suppose i should actually go read the paper now, or maybe my mail. thankfully, all the Christmas gifts i ordered have made it here. now it's just the small shit i need to do and find the right obituary pages to wrap the gifts in.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better. i will be back on here sometime Monday.

tossing and turning all night long

i could never quite find a comfortable spot in my old ass bed last night, so i mostly just tossed and turned all night long. eventually i just said fuck it, and got up. i don't know where i'm going to sneak a nap in today, so i suppose i'll just be a cranky fucker all day long.

i did wake up to some wonderful artwork from my friend Janne Karlsson:
i told him if i ever write an autobiography, i believe he just gave me the title and cover art.

plus, Chelsea lost this morning, so maybe today will be a good day.

Sonic Highways last night was excellent. i REALLY loved the song they did at the end. adding the strings was an excellent touch. i guess i should really get the album now. (that's a nice hint for anyone wanting to get me something for the holidays... amazon.com wish list link on the right hand side of this blog)

today is going to be another busy one for me. the Dayton Flyers play at home against an undefeated Eastern Michigan. after that, i guess we're going to get some lunch and then get the grocery shopping done. we should get home by the time Ohio State plays for the Big 10 championship tonight. i'm not expecting a win given all the injuries and tragedies surrounding the team right now. though, i wouldn't mind another victory beer. after that, i'm looking forward to a new episode of Saturday Night Live and the preview episode to the ppv tomorrow for ROH. with the matches they have for it, i'm pretty much going to have to bite the bullet and order it tomorrow.

thankfully, Manchester United doesn't play until Monday, so maybe i'll actually get to sleep a little on Sunday morning. at least that's the plan. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the morning. i'd like to have my writing done before the New Orleans Saints play at the very least.

that's all for me today. it's still fucking raining here. so, time to strap on the boots and go feed the cats. we have to be near 2 inches or so of rain by now.

hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

deadline day

today was trade deadline day in major league baseball. i was hoping the Yankees were going to do something that i could say, that's going to make a difference. sadly, like most of this season, i'm disappointed. the one trade with the Red Sox was basically trash for trash. the other trade with Arizona was a once useful utility player for some young power. needless to say, i don't care for either trade. they basically made their bench a smidge better, but not enough to make the playoffs or to probably finish more than a few games over .500. hard to believe that 2 of the greatest players in the history of the franchise (Rivera, Jeter) and both of their final seasons were a big pile of shit.

that being said, there were some HUGE deals today. i was a little shocked at the names that got traded. the biggest surprise was that most of the deals were major league players for major league players, not a ton of prospects were moved this year.

thankfully, after the Yankees lost last night, 3-2, to lose the series against the WORST team in baseball, they don't play tonight. i won't miss them. they play tomorrow night in Boston.

i did write 3 poems last night, while listening to The Chemical Brothers. typically, they are 3 sad poems. the last one was really sad, which is saying something for some of the depressing shit i have written over the years. i really like all 3. July was a surprisingly fruitful month for me with over 20 poems written. that's a high number for me in the summer. i'll probably send these 3 out with my next round of submissions in August.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. should be pretty funny to watch Amber go home tonight. SoundClash last night was so much better than last week. a great mix of Ed Sheeran, Sia, and Grouplove. they did a cover of a Beyonce song at the end of the night that was really good. hopefully that is the kind of show this will be each week. Wilfred was great again last night. the ending caught me off guard, but was funny as hell. The Bridge was great once again. i like how this season has a slow burn feel to it. looks like it will really pick up next week.

after Big Brother tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're the Worst on FX.

just got finished watching part 1 and 2 of the "Freeway" Rick Ross interview on The Jim Norton Show on vice.com. i highly recommend you check this interview.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer. after i get those clothes folded i have toilets to clean and trash to take out. good times.

looks like this might be the last dry day for the next week or so. just what i need, more misery for my back.

had a chat with the muse last night. i can't imagine the drama and bullshit she's going through right now. hopefully, it all works out for her in the end.

that's all for me for now. hopefully your day has been better than mine.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me cash. be sure to only fuck the ones that cough.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...

hello winter

we haven't got nearly as much ice and snow that the doomsday weather assholes on the television were saying we were going to get... of course, it's still snowing like there is no end in sight. i didn't have a hard time getting out to feed the cats this morning, but i didn't press my luck and try the streets. i figure they will be better tomorrow. at least for one day before the next storm hits.

my alma mater stunk last night in high school football, losing 24-0. i feel bad for the senior class. 4 straight trips to the final game and only 1 title.

the New York Rangers played a pretty good game last night. but, when you're playing one of the worst teams in the league, you're supposed to win. highlights below:

i got off to a really good start in fantasy football for the week. i've got a feeling i'm going to need it. thank you Andre Johnson.

kind of got bombarded with Yankees news this morning. i'm a little bummed that Cano has gone to Seattle but if someone is dumb enough to offer him that much money, i understand. he can be their non hustling superstar. i get the feeling in 3 years they will be looking to trade him. probably back to us. i wasn't surprised that the Grandy man went to the Mets. i figured once the Yankees signed Jacoby the writing was on the wall. i am pretty happy that Kuroda is coming back for another season. hopefully they sign a few more pitchers with the money they didn't spend on Cano.

i did watch the draw for the World Cup this morning, team USA is in the group of death with Germany, Ghana, and Portugal. if they make it out of that group, go ahead and make the coach a saint.

this afternoon i decided to escape the tv and computer for a bit and write. i put on some music and just stared at the blank page in front of me. about 40 minutes later, i had 10 poems. not bad. i imagine i will type them up sometime this weekend.

i enjoyed The Big Bang Theory last night. i've watched the show so damn much over the years now that i am saying dialogue to new episodes that i think the character will say. spooky how many times i am correct.

not sure what i'm going to be watching this evening. i know i have a big sports weekend on tap. tomorrow alone will be a Manchester United, New York Rangers, Ohio State, and Dayton Flyers day. i will probably be on here after the United game. i think they play in the morning. yikes, just checked, 7:45 in the morning. yeah, so i guess i will be getting to bed early tonight.

hope the weather is better wherever you happen to be. or, you have plenty of alcohol to get you through it. until tomorrow.
