response from Analog Submission Press

i heard back from Marc at Analog Submission Press. he really enjoyed reading over the chapbook submission i sent him. while it was longer than he was aiming for, he agreed with me about the flow of the poems. so, long story short, he'll be sending me a proof in the next week or two and then we'll be in the publishing phase. the chapbook will be titled "the taste of blood on christmas morning". the cover art was done by my good friend, Janne Karlsson.

seeing a vision from my future (hopefully)

so the grocery store called today and said all my pills were ready, so i said fuck it. i would just do the grocery shopping today, especially since i don't want to miss Spain vs. Portugal tomorrow. so, i had to go to Meijer to pick up some things mom needed that Kroger doesn't sell. i found a few things i needed as well. then, i went to the grocery store. i was cruising along, finding everything and then about the time i got over to the produce, HOLY SHIT. there was this dark skinned, beautiful black woman standing by the tomatoes. she looked almost exactly like the woman in Rome i have been chatting with. skin, hair, ass to die for, and my penis could recognize it as well. i played it off as best as i could. of course, i saw this woman again in the deli, the bakery, the frozen foods and the checkout. if she would have got in the lane i was in, i might have actually worked up the courage to say hello. and of course, today was the day i just threw on some clothes to get a few things done and get back home. fuck my life.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Washington 5-4. for some damn reason, Sonny Gray can't pitch worth a shit at home. hopefully, the boys can't get back to winning tonight at home against Tampa.

NXT was really good last night.

Lucha Underground was very good last night. it's so good to have this back on television. i'm really looking forward to season 4.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Lip Sync Battle.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2018/6/14/wrestling-podcast-190-jeff-jarrett-pt-1

i did watch the first game of the World Cup today. Russia destroyed Saudi Arabia 5-0. the sad thing is neither team is really that good. Russia might have a chance to make it to the knockout round after today's game. Saudi Arabia might as well enjoy the scenery for the next 2 games.

the games tomorrow will be Egypt vs. Uruguay, Morocco vs. Iran and Spain vs. Portugal. i'll be on here tomorrow after those games are over.

my sister is coming down tomorrow night. i guess we are celebrating mom's birthday tomorrow night instead of Saturday. i believe mom wants Chinese food, so i guess i'm the lucky one to listen to her bitch about her legs swelling up from all the salt on Saturday. joy.

i did hear from Janne Karlsson today. the cover for the possible chapbook will be in my email tomorrow morning. i guess i need to get started forming the damn book now.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

may the fourth be with you

i was in a good mood today. i was able to get a little sleep last night. we were able to get everything at the grocery store and get home in time for the Manchester United game. hell, even the mail came before it started raining. too bad Manchester United decided to take a giant shit all over my good mood.

Manchester United was pathetic today, and that's being fucking kind. they were absolutely awful in the final third, not even getting a shot on goal until the second half. Brighton was playing with all the urgency in the world, seeing if they won they will avoid relegation. sure enough, once Brighton scored, they parked the fucking bus and United's listlessness cost them dearly. a 1-0 loss is not the end of the world for United. but, i certainly didn't like how the players were playing, especially since they do have a fucking FA Cup final to play in 15 days.

i just love starting the weekend all kinds of pissed off.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night. the season finale next week should be excellent.

Young Sheldon was good last night. the season finale next looks like it should be good.

Life in Pieces was very funny last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night.

Atlanta last night was probably the most accurate portrayal of middle school i have ever seen on television. easily, the best show going. the season finale next week should be great.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

the New York Yankees start a series at home tonight against Cleveland. hopefully the Yankees can keep the winning streak going.

i'll probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight as well.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know mom wants to go out at some point. oh joy.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

my best to Janne Karlsson and his big weekend. i hope you have fun my friend.

heard back from my good friend Janne Karlsson on the poems i sent him earlier today. my poems "most people tend to believe", "slink off into the sticks" and "the haunted old eyes" have been accepted for publication at The Apache Poetry Blog. whenever Janne publishes them, i'll be sure to post a link here on the blog. and rumor has it, one of my poems from my past might be making an appearance on the The Apache Poetry Blog tomorrow.

thoughts on a rainy Monday afternoon...

the New Orleans Saints started off rather poorly yesterday. it certainly felt like they thought they could waltz right into Green Bay and win since Aaron Rodgers wasn't playing for the Packers. thankfully, the team got their asses in gear in the second half and won 26-17. considering they only allowed the Packers to score 3 points in the second half, i was pretty pleased with the win. next up for the first place Saints (man, that felt weird to type) will be a home game against Chicago.

Ray Donovan was excellent last night. the season finale next week looks like it should be amazing.

The Deuce was really good last night. i believe that season finale is next week as well.

Vice Principals was pretty fucking funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

WWE TLC was either really good or what the fuck was that last night. i loved that Asuka is now on the main roster. the AJ Stlyes vs. Finn Balor match was great. hopefully that match will happen again at Survivor Series. the main event of the evening was overbooked but, if you weren't expecting much, was really fucking crazy good. i was totally expecting the Kurt Angle gets taken to the back and then makes a return 15 or 20 minutes later. i wasn't expecting Kurt to get the victory for The Shield. i also wasn't expecting The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus and Kane to turn on Braun Strowman either. so, i guess that means Braun will be a babyface now and just destroy whomever he fucking feels like. works for me. Monday Night Raw should be interesting tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and The Big Bang Theory. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against San Jose. it would be nice to see the Rangers actually win 2 games in a row.

i listened to an interview with my good friend, Janne Karlsson this afternoon. he was kind enough to read my poem "a little voice" in the interview. you can find that interview by going here:

the rain that was supposed to be here last night didn't arrive until late this morning. that made it real fun to drive my mother to her appointment. as i told her on the drive home, it won't be insanity that makes me kill everyone, it will be my fucking arthritis.

her hip is doing really good. everyone is hoping that her next injection in her back helps the bursitis she's dealing with at the moment. if not, she'll have to get a cortisone injection in that to help ease that pain. but, she should be able to go back on her medicine for her arthritis now instead of slowly killing her liver with Tylenol.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays at Swansea City in the League Cup.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

how i just love having a bad back

nothing like going from Spring back to Winter in a span of a few hours. the wind today has been fucking horrible. add a little rain with that and it fucking feels like it is 20 degrees outside. you can imagine just how my back felt as i was walking around the grocery store. horrific. i did make a stop in the liquor store while i was there. i decided i earned it. a little spiced rum and some Wild Turkey i have never seen before.

i sent out 8 poems today; 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 3 to Winedrunk Sidewalk. when i hear back from John on the poems i sent to Winedrunk, i'll pass on the verdict.

NXT was pretty good last night.

Total Divas was funny last night, mostly because of how long ago all the footage was shot.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-1. oh well. they start a series tomorrow in Baltimore.

the New York Rangers rested six regulars last night and lost to Washington 2-0. the Rangers are set to play Montreal in the first round of the playoffs.

enjoy some music:

i'm watching for the commercials

since the Super Bowl this year is between two teams i absolutely detest, i really don't give a shit who wins. much like most years being a New Orleans Saints fan, i'm hoping the commercials are really good.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night, mostly because of one of my favorite bands, St. Paul & The Broken Bones.

ROH was really good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious (sometimes), sloppy (most of the time) and pretty good last night. you could tell Kristen Stewart was nervous as hell, which probably explains saying the word fucking on network tv. but, Melissa McCarthy's version of Sean Spicer saved the whole damn show, it was fucking fantastic.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope.

the New York Rangers play at home today against Calgary. hopefully they can finally figure out how to play good at home again. and win.

Manchester United plays at Leicester today. United really needs to win this game.

goodbye 2016

my sister and i had a little bonding experience this morning. we decided to be good children and change the windshield wipers on mom's vehicle. well, the rear one was the wrong one, so not a good start. and then we had to go on YouTube to figure out how to get the damn wipers in the front off. thankfully, i knew where the rubber mallet was. a little elbow grease later and the new wipers were on. after that, i had her help me change a light bulb and put up these lights outside of my room (they are hockey pucks). i'm a little uneasy on ladders anymore, especially when my arthritis is fucking with me. all in all, a pretty good morning where we didn't kill each other. always a good sign.

the Dayton Flyers won last night but of course suffered another injury. they were already playing the game against La Salle without one of their guards, Darrell Davis. late in the second half last night, Charles Cooke got undercut and fell awkwardly on the floor. he was diagnosed with a bruised lower back, which i know fucking sucks. i doubt he'll be ready to go on Tuesday when they play at St. Bonaventure. but, the Flyers did win last night 66-55. they held La Salle nearly 30 points under their scoring average. it's always good to start off conference play with a win.

i didn't watch much of the first 75 minutes of the Manchester United game this morning as i was doing that stuff with my sister. mom explained to me the goal that got disallowed. when i saw the highlight i was furious. when she told me that Middlesbrough had scored, i was even more furious. but, thankfully on the birthday of Sir Alex Ferguson, the boys decided to have a blast from the past. trailing 1-0 after 85 minutes, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba scored within minutes of each other for a dramatic 2-1 come from behind victory. oh, just like the old days. United plays again on Monday at West Ham.

well, at least i know i will be having one drink tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Austin City Limits and ROH.

i have to go to the grocery store to get some things mom wants, so i'm gearing myself up for a nice shit show.

team USA plays Canada today in the final group game in the World Juniors. since they are playing in Toronto, i would absolutely love to see the USA pull off the upset.

the New York Rangers play tonight out in Colorado. hopefully they will ring in the new year with a victory.

Ohio State plays Clemson tonight in the Fiesta Bowl. if they win, they will advance to the national championship game. it's scary to think that Ohio State made it into the final four on a rebuilding year.

i don't really have any lavish plans to ring in the new year tonight. i will probably be drinking and most likely writing, like i have done for the last few years.

i did get a copy of the book Maiden by Karina Bush in the mail yesterday. look for that review in the first few days of 2017. before that, if you can find a copy anywhere, buy it. you will not be disappointed.

i will probably remember 2016 for all of the deaths that struck me so closely, especially in the world of music. i'll also remember it as the first time i ever got to see the New York Yankees play in person. and finally as a year that my writing took a giant leap forward in its consistency. i absolutely hope 2017 is better for everyone on this planet. the pessimist in me just chuckled.

if you're going out and about tonight, be safe. for my international readers, happy new year already. for everyone, call if you need bail money.

surprise, surprise

so i was sitting at the Dayton Flyers game watching the players warm up. then, i looked a little closer and was like, holy shit, Kendall Pollard is actually in uniform today. this was welcomed news. Dayton has been shorthanded all damn season inside. there was a huge roar when KP made his debut in the first half. and i absolutely love that they whipped Winthrop 83-67, mostly because their head coach used to be an assistant at Xavier. Dayton plays again on Tuesday against a Division II school. hopefully that's a blowout.

the New York Rangers won this afternoon over Carolina 4-2. looks like i'll be enjoying some victory beers tonight.

sadly, my high school lost in the division 3 state finals this afternoon 30-0. still, it was farther than i expected Trotwood to go this season.

i was up early as shit this morning. Chelsea whipped Manchester City 3-1. and El Clasico ended up 1-1 between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

NJPW was excellent last night. i could watch Will Ospreay wrestle everyday for the rest of my life and never get bored.

the Fitz and The Tantrums concert/interview was good last night.

Vice News Tonight had another excellent week of reporting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Keanu, Pete Holmes: Faces and Sounds, The Hateful Eight, Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i'm planning on being on here early tomorrow, before Manchester United takes on Everton. if not then, it would be after the New Orleans Saints play Detroit.

here's the latest reason why Janne Karlsson is a genius:

i'm always amazed at what he takes out of this blog and turns into art.

happy thanksgiving

a lesson i learned early in life was just because you are miserable, you don't have to make everyone else miserable. with that in mind, i hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

the New York Rangers were leading 1-0 last night after the first period. i'm not really sure who was in those blue uniforms after that point as Pittsburgh fucking destroyed them, 6-1. oh well.

the Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving Special was pretty funny last night.

Lucha Underground was good last night. i wouldn't have had Sexy Star lose the title just after one week, but i understand.

NXT was mostly a highlight show from the latest TakeOver. that's not a bad thing.

Total Divas was hilarious last night. when Lana threw the shot put into Natalya's windshield, i laughed my ass off.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces.

Manchester United plays in the Europa League today against Feyenoord. it's at home and it's a MUST WIN game.

the Dayton Flyers play Nebraska tonight out in California. i'm interested to see how the team plays now that they have had a few practices with the smaller lineup. if they can win, they will most likely play UCLA tomorrow.

i imagine i will spend most of the day watching football and finishing up mom's laundry.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast this morning. i highly recommend it. you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/11/23/wrestling-podcast-109-colt-cabana

i'm also going to try to get at least some of my Christmas shopping done today. god willing, i'll get it all done.

i hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving. if you're in a different part of the world, a little advice from Janne Karlsson:

when the days just start running together

when the weather cools down and the sunshine appears to be hiding for most of the day, the blahs tend to start coming out and the days just run together. sprinkle in some apathy and a heavy disdain for life, and you have the recipe for depression my friends. i try to keep myself busy, which tends to keep me from thinking. or diving too deep into this vast unknown swimming in my head. of course, that means i spend most of the day just listening to music or reading old magazines. i imagine if i had money, my day would be spent doing other things.

there wasn't much of Monday Night Raw that was good last night. i enjoyed the brawl between Owens and Rollins that ended the show. i also enjoyed the contract signing for the first ever women's hell in a cell match. other than that, the show stunk. and that's not a good sign with a ppv coming up on Sunday.

The Voice entered the knockout stage last night. some of the performances were fucking amazing.

Vice News Tonight was excellent last night.

Gotham was spectacular last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice and Atlanta.

the NBA season starts tonight as does the World Series. just a few months ago i was exactly where most of the eyes of the sports world will be tonight. Cleveland, Ohio. the Cavs will be hoisting the championship banner at the same time the Indians will be playing the Cubs in the World Series. talk about a clear sign the world is coming to an end.

here's some artwork from the Swedish genius Janne Karlsson, with lines taken straight from this blog:

i'll be on here tomorrow, probably right after the Manchester United game with Manchester City ends. the latest edition of the Manchester derby comes in the EFL Cup. i believe this is the round of 16 or something like that. i have no damn clue how United is going to play after the Chelsea debacle. hopefully i'll be in a good mood. if not, simply expect a few lines of expletives. and then a few more.

anger, hello once again

when you live and die with sports teams, anger has a certain way of just draining everything out of you.

Ohio State was cruising along last night, up 21-7. then, they made the horrific mistake that young teams do sometimes, and took their foot off the gas. as someone who has watched sports for 40 years now, i knew what was coming next. sure enough, Penn State defeated Ohio State last night 24-21. it was a comedy of fucking errors on special teams and the offensive line that did the Buckeyes in. plus, the coach had a rare shitty night as well. now, i wonder how far they fall in the polls.

the New York Rangers were down 2-0 after the first period last night. i wasn't a happy man. by the end of the second period, i was very happy. the Rangers scored 3 goals in the 2nd and went on to defeat Washington 4-2 last night. that's a good character builder that they should be able to use all season long. they play again tonight at home against Arizona.

the Red and Blue Game yesterday at the University of Dayton was good. the women's team is going through a little rebuilding stage now that the longtime coach has left. they still have some good players, but i could see them struggling some this upcoming season. the men's team looked really good. they have 4 talented seniors that should carry the load most of the season. the biggest surprise for me was how much better the sophomore class looked. they looked like they are really ready to contribute. here are some highlights from yesterday:

after the game, i had to go to the grocery store to get more of mom's medications. the pharmacy closed at 6, so i was in a bit of a hurry. nothing i hate more than shitty drivers when i have somewhere to be. thankfully, i got there in plenty of time. and then i brought home some food for mom and i, a late lunch i guess.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

ROH was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Strain, Shameless, Masters of Sex, Westworld, Divorce, Insecure and Last Week Tonight.

Manchester United plays at Chelsea later this morning. this is a big game, not only for the club but also for The Special One. hopefully i'm enjoying a victory beer later today.

the New Orleans Saints play at the Chiefs today. i'm hoping for the best but i'm a realist. they are a different team outside of the dome.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

also included in the book are poems from Wolfgang Carstens, Jenny Santellano, Adrian Manning, Scott Wozniak and Ally Malinenko just to name a few. in all, 56 pages of brilliant madness.

not the way i wanted this day to start

when i shut my eyes at 2 in the morning, i knew i was going to be up in 4 hours. that's not sleep, that's a fucking nap. but, i was up at 6 and ready to go. sadly, i can't say the same for Manchester United.

if the boys would have been simply clinical today, they would have beat Stoke City by 4 or 5 goals. instead, they pissed around and gave up a late equalizer that will leave me fucking furious for the rest of the damn day.

the New York Yankees showed a little pride yesterday, beating Baltimore 7-3. hopefully the Yankees win today and make Baltimore have to wait to see if they are actually in the playoffs or not. thankfully, today is the last game of the season and most likely the last day i will give a shit about baseball.

the New York Rangers lost last night, 5-4 to the Devils. i guess the good thing is it looks like this year's team might actually be able to score. that's a welcome change from the past.

Ohio State destroyed Rutgers yesterday 58-0. honestly, i don't think it was even that close. congrats to J.T. Barrett on setting the Ohio State record for touchdown passes.

there was some crazy ass college football games yesterday. all in all, it's why i love the sport.

i finally got to watch Deadpool. i can see why it is the highest grossing rated R movie of all time. it was fucking hilarious, start to finish. i probably rank it as my 3rd favorite movie of all time, only behind Fight Club and Pulp Fiction.

ROH was excellent last night. always interesting to watch pro wrestling in a baseball stadium.

Austin City Limits was pretty good last night. hard to imagine this was the first time Paul Simon has ever been on the show.

Saturday Night Live was really fucking funny last night. a good way to start off a new season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

the New Orleans Saints play at San Diego later today. i've picked against them this week, hoping they might finally fucking win.

i'm not favored in either of my fantasy football matches, no surprise there.

i wrote 5 poems yesterday while enjoying my victory beer after the Ohio State game. i typed them up and i really, really like a few of them. i think i'm going to get another submission ready for next week probably.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. may your Sunday be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
