there always has to be something go wrong...

so i took mom to get her haircut today. i told her to go first, i had no problem waiting to get mine done. and once again, you do something good for someone and it will always bite you in the ass in the end. the lady that was cutting my hair didn't pay close enough attention to what she was doing and ended up slicing my mask. she was super fucking embarrassed and i played it cool. i mean, it was only my favorite New Orleans Saints mask. good thing i'm not superstitious or anything...

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Young Sheldon was good last night.

The United States of Al was pretty good last night.

B Positive was hilarious last night.

Cake was weird as fuck once again.

Desus & Mero was fucking funny as fuck last night.

Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential was about Owen Hart last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher and A Black Lady Sketch Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

the Yankees got down 3-0 last night and i thought, fuck, here we go again. thankfully, the offense came to life and the Yankees won last night in Cleveland, 6-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

the New York Rangers lost a game they needed to win last night, 3-2 at home against Philadelphia. they play each other again tonight. the Rangers have no margin of error now if they are going to make the playoffs.

i am hopefully going to put out something on SoundCloud this weekend. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might put out two tracks this weekend.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

nothing like an early glimpse of Spring...

i think i got around 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night. i think that mostly was due to the low being 60 fucking degrees last night. i think there's a chance for it to get up into the 70's today. of course, i believe that comes with a chance of thunderstorms. and in a few days it will be back to down to the 30's. time for everyone to get sick again.

USA hockey defeated Slovakia last night 5-1. that means they will play the Czech Republic tonight with a chance to move on to the semifinals. they looked much better last night than they have for the entire tournament.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the gauntlet match was very entertaining. of course, it took up 2/3 of the entire show. it was good to see Seth Rollins remind everyone of just how great he is.

Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night. i got a good laugh when Ross won the VETO. that blew up Omarosa's plan to get rid of him. Metta went home last night, willingly. the damn show ends in 6 days. i have no idea why he couldn't last that much longer.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets and Hate Thy Neighbor. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Saint Louis. the game starts at 9 tonight. i won't be going, mostly because i want to watch the hockey game tonight that starts at 10. and i'm one of these guys that doesn't like to watch sports on the DVR. hopefully Dayton will get a win tonight.

i'll probably flip between the hockey game and the basketball game and whatever else is going on tonight with the Winter Olympics.

i do plan on taking my little notebook today while mom is doing her physical therapy. if i happen to write some shit, i'm planning on typing those up when we get back home.

and i think mom wants to go out to eat after her physical therapy. not sure where she wants to go, so that should be interesting. there's probably 30 different choices down there than we have up where we live.

i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Champions League.

that's all for me kids. i need to hop in the shower. enjoy the visual.

nothing like a headache and your blood sugar dropping while in a grocery store

i was going to title this blog post the kiss of death, but i was afraid too many of you would take it the wrong way. i was in the grocery store today and this black guy was looking at me. i quickly noticed it was one of the guys from the waiting room at the place where mom does her physical therapy. i wasn't exactly in the mood to talk, so i just kept moving. he crossed my path later in the meat section and stopped me by saying i saw you at physical therapy the other day, does your wife have therapy today? i said that's my mother actually and no. he apologized and i told him not to worry about it but it already confirmed all my fears. try being a single 41 year old male and the first thing anyone thinks when they see you out with your mother is that you are actually a married couple. at least this will make the suicide understandable to so many more people now.

i spent nearly $300 in the grocery store today. most of it was the pills and all the stuff my mother wanted me to buy for my sister's upcoming birthday (gift cards, alcohol, etc.). it's been threatening to rain nearly all day. thankfully, i got the grocery shopping done and the mail was here before any of it really started.

just as i feared, the New York Yankees left a small village on base last night and lost to Toronto 4-0. yet another losing road trip. they are back home tonight to start a series against Boston. they are 4 1/2 games behind them in the division. god willing, they won't be 7 1/2 by Monday.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Jessica was evicted and Alex is the new HOH, or how most people online are putting it, Paul is the HOH for the third week in a row. i did love how devastated Cody looked last night when he lost in the HOH competition. i'm rooting for whoever has the balls to actually get rid of Paul this season. if they wait any longer, he will win the show.

The Chris Gethard Show was beautifully absurd once again last night.

the New Orleans Saints did what they do best last night, lose a fucking preseason game. that's 10 in a row they have lost. thank god i didn't go to the game, which was in Cleveland.

Weekend Update last night was fucking hilarious.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Treehouse Masters, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104.

the Premier League started back up today. Manchester United starts on Sunday against West Ham.

i believe my sister is coming down this weekend. of course, i have no clue when. since i don't have a cell phone, i'm not privy to those text messages between my sister and mother unless my mother remembers to tell me.

mom's physical therapy went well yesterday. of course, she doesn't believe she's done as good as she has, so they have her on a 3 week hold. my hope is once she gets her cataracts taken care of and can actually fucking see again, she'll actually start to realize the gains she has made in her therapy. i'm not holding my breath though.

i did write 5 more poems today. when you wake up and see that the asshole parading as President of this country is trying to out crazy another crazy fucker, i have a tendency to reach for pen and paper. i typed up the 5 poems this morning, most of which were not political in nature by the way. i did like a few of them. that puts me at 15 poems in 11 days for the month. i guess cutting out fantasy sports has allowed me to be more productive. i'm still making the same amount of money sadly, doing either.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone has an amazing weekend. take it easy and then take it again.

light at the end of the tunnel

well, i think (or hope) the worse part of my coughing is over with. i think i hit bottom last night with a coughing fit that had me sweating like i was in a Turkish prison. today has been much better. i felt good enough to actually do my laundry and go out of the house. hopefully i'll feel even better by this time tomorrow.

NXT was pretty good last night. i'm sort of interested to see where it goes now with Bobby Roode as champion.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Baskets, Fuck, That's Delicious and Lip Sync Battle.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Nashville. hopefully they can keep the winning going.

i talked to a close friend for the first time in months today. she's going through some rough shit right now. hopefully she takes my advice and gets the fuck out and never looks back. it really enrages me when a woman sticks by a man that treats her like shit. mental and physical abuse is not love. and it never will be love.

i just finished folding my last load of clothes, so now it's time for a nap.

not the way i wanted this day to start

when i shut my eyes at 2 in the morning, i knew i was going to be up in 4 hours. that's not sleep, that's a fucking nap. but, i was up at 6 and ready to go. sadly, i can't say the same for Manchester United.

if the boys would have been simply clinical today, they would have beat Stoke City by 4 or 5 goals. instead, they pissed around and gave up a late equalizer that will leave me fucking furious for the rest of the damn day.

the New York Yankees showed a little pride yesterday, beating Baltimore 7-3. hopefully the Yankees win today and make Baltimore have to wait to see if they are actually in the playoffs or not. thankfully, today is the last game of the season and most likely the last day i will give a shit about baseball.

the New York Rangers lost last night, 5-4 to the Devils. i guess the good thing is it looks like this year's team might actually be able to score. that's a welcome change from the past.

Ohio State destroyed Rutgers yesterday 58-0. honestly, i don't think it was even that close. congrats to J.T. Barrett on setting the Ohio State record for touchdown passes.

there was some crazy ass college football games yesterday. all in all, it's why i love the sport.

i finally got to watch Deadpool. i can see why it is the highest grossing rated R movie of all time. it was fucking hilarious, start to finish. i probably rank it as my 3rd favorite movie of all time, only behind Fight Club and Pulp Fiction.

ROH was excellent last night. always interesting to watch pro wrestling in a baseball stadium.

Austin City Limits was pretty good last night. hard to imagine this was the first time Paul Simon has ever been on the show.

Saturday Night Live was really fucking funny last night. a good way to start off a new season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

the New Orleans Saints play at San Diego later today. i've picked against them this week, hoping they might finally fucking win.

i'm not favored in either of my fantasy football matches, no surprise there.

i wrote 5 poems yesterday while enjoying my victory beer after the Ohio State game. i typed them up and i really, really like a few of them. i think i'm going to get another submission ready for next week probably.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. may your Sunday be even better.

i hate how i feel right before it rains

it's almost like a dull ache. like i'm a junkie going through withdrawals, and i don't want to get into the habit of taking pills or alcohol to ease the pain, as i know damn well, i'll be an addict in a matter of days. but now at 40, my process of accepting the pain needs to be tweaked a bit i guess. not sure how i'm going to do that. but, there's plenty of time (i hope) to try and fail at many things before i get it right.

Euro 2016 update:
i really enjoyed Italy vs. Belgium yesterday. you could tell Belgium had all the shiny parts and Italy was the reliable old car that stills get you there and never breaks down. Italy "upset" Belgium 2-0. that's a huge win for Italy. today, i watched Hungary shock Austria 2-0. i can just imagine the drinking going on in Hungary. right now, i'm watching Iceland vs. Portugal. should be interesting to see how CR7 does today.

Copa America update:
Mexico vs. Venezuela last night was very entertaining. Venezuela scored early and for a while, i really thought they were going to get the upset and win the group. but, Mexico got a great goal to get the draw. that gives Mexico the group win and allows them to avoid possibly playing Argentina in the quarterfinals. the games tonight are Chile vs. Panama and Argentina vs. Bolivia.

Monday Night Raw was really hit or miss for me last night. i enjoyed how much Kevin Owens was on there and the build up for AJ Styles vs. John Cena has been really good. i just wish the interaction between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose would have been better. it's obvious the writers still don't know how to write the best for them yet. hopefully the ppv this Sunday will be awesome.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.

the New York Yankees play tonight out in Colorado. hopefully they can get back to winning soon.

i did watch some of the NBA Finals last night. i hope Cleveland understands they have to play like that or better to come back and win the series. Game 6 will be on Thursday.

i've got the trash already done as i didn't want to be in pain while doing it. after the soccer is over this afternoon, i think i'm going to take a long shower and get a good back massage while watching television tonight. and hopefully a victory beer or two will help as well.

hard to believe, but it's been 22 years since one of my greatest days as a sports fan.
i hope to god i get to see that again in my lifetime.

that's all for me. i hope everyone is doing well.

smash and grab

i woke up this morning, tired as hell, ready to watch Manchester United take on Liverpool. United started off good, but as usual for this season, they settled back into mediocrity. they were getting killed in the midfield. thankfully, it was 0-0 at half. United started the second half in the same funk and thankfully, David de Gea saved their ass with some brilliant saves. where the fuck would this team be without him? and then, out of nowhere, a header off the crossbar and holy shit, Wayne Rooney drills a volley home for his first goal at Liverpool in a fucking decade. talk about stealing a game you truly had no business winning. when it comes to beating Liverpool, i'll take that every fucking time. hopefully this is the game that saves the fucking season.

the New York Rangers got my Saturday off to a good start, winning in Philadelphia 3-2. of course, they had to win in the shootout to get the win. better than losing though. they play again today at Washington. god willing, they will end the Mom's trip with another win.

the NFL games yesterday were really good. i got the Patriots game wrong, which didn't shock me really. the night game between Arizona and Green Bay was a fucking instant classic. another Hail Mary from Aaron Rodgers and then Larry Fitzgerald took over in OT. that game was part of the reason i woke up tired as hell this morning.

Saturday Night Live was really funny and dirty last night. i enjoyed the show much more than i thought i was going to.

Austin City Limits was really good last night. Ryan Adams and Shakey Graves were the performers.

ROH was excellent last night. the main event was spectacular.

i went through my huge file folder of unpublished poems last night. there was poems in there from over a decade ago. i found a few that i think i might try to submit to places again, though i'm not sure about it. hell, i might just put a book together of rejected poems and see how all those poems work together. it was certainly a long two hours down memory lane.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i'm going with Carolina and Denver to win the NFL games today.

i will be flipping between football and hockey for most of the day.

one of these weirdos that wears shorts in the winter

i'm sure my neighbors love that i go out to get the trash cans or the paper or the mail in a hoodie and shorts. doesn't matter what the weather is like. unless it's snowing or really fucking cold, i'm one of these weirdos that wears shorts in the winter. it's finally starting to feel like winter here. of course, we've had so much damn rain, it figures it would start to freeze now.

team USA destroyed Switzerland today in the World Juniors hockey tournament over in Finland. the boys dominated from the start, winning 10-1. the only Rangers prospect on the team was in goal for the last 30+ minutes of the game. he stopped all 10 shots he faced. they will play Denmark tomorrow morning. if they can win that in regulation, they will finish in second place in the group.

i didn't watch much on television last night. i was over at my uncle's shooting the shit for almost 90 minutes i think. it's rather obvious that his wife wants nothing to do with helping him with his cancer. it's kind of sad to know they have been married for over 60 years and this is how it gets at the end. i wonder why i'm still single?

tonight is a big sports night, but before that, enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

the Dayton Flyers take on Arkansas tonight at home. this is the last non-conference game of the season. coach Archie Miller will be going for his 100th win at the school. and the game is on national television (CBS Sports Network). needless to say, i will be pumped for this one as i will be in attendance.

the New York Rangers take on Tampa tonight. i really hope they play better than they did in Nashville. they are going to have to if they want to win.

i will probably catch the highlights from the hockey game when i get home from the basketball game. i suppose mom and i will go out to eat after the game as well. most likely another trip to Waffle House.

i will be on here tomorrow after the USA game with Denmark and before the HUGE college football games start. it will seem a little weird to be watching football that really means something on New Year's Eve.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone is well and looking forward to getting out of 2015.

what a difference a day makes

so, sometime around 3 in the morning, i finally got to sleep. and in my own bed for the first time in a couple of nights. i still can't sleep like i normally do, due to my right hip, but i did get a good 4 1/2 hours and my back wasn't killing me.

most likely, the sleep was from two victory beers. and two wins that were memorable and desperately needed.

the Dayton Flyers won their rivalry game with Miami last night in the final seconds. anytime we play that school, it's like a trip to the fucking dentist. thankfully, Kyle Davis made the shot that sent everyone home happy. Dayton wins 64-63. here's the highlights:

after the game, mom and i went to Waffle House. that's really the only sit down restaurant that's open in the town i live in after 9 pm.

when i got home, i turned on the highlights to the New York Rangers game. thankfully, they got the win last night in OT. my favorite troll came through once again. a very much needed 3-2 win that sends them into the Christmas break with something to feel good about. here are the highlights.

so i drank those 2 victory beers while watching Smackdown and helping mom with some Christmas decorations. the main event was between Ziggler, Ambrose and Owens. it was a great match and a great way to end the show.

so i thought was doing pretty good this morning. i had a little breakfast and was sitting in my massage chair, reading the newspaper. and then the stomach started to rumble. i mentioned something to my mother this morning that i hadn't had to use any Imodium the last few days. sure enough, there i was racing to the toilet with the shits. it never fails. anytime i start to feel good, something has to bring me back down.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will WWE Tribute to the Troops. i will be watching NXT and probably some other shows on WWE Network as well.

hockey is off for the next few days, so i more or less will be watching basketball and football or catching up on the DVR for the next couple of days.

i'm not used to it being near 60 degrees on Dec. 23rd. i wouldn't mind it if it was sunny. instead it is rainy, which makes me miserable.

i guess this will be an afternoon icing my back and lounging in the massage chair. god willing, the Imodium will do its job.

i hope everyone is ready for Christmas or whatever other holiday you are celebrating. i hope everyone has a great day.
