so, i was helping my mother pay her bills today when i noticed on her DIRECTV bill that we could get Paramount+ with our account now. after i got all the bills paid, i investigated that. after a little figuring shit out, i was able to get Paramount+ on the TV in the living room and on my phone. at least now if the war between the local CBS and DIRECTV isn't solved by Sunday, we can still watch the Super Bowl on the Paramount+ app. and since there is no charge for it, i will definitely take advantage of all the soccer on the app. that was a very welcome surprise today.
the New York Rangers won last night in OT at home against Colorado, 2-1. i am hoping that will be the victory that gets them going again.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i was up a little after 6 this morning. i wanted to get everything done before the Manchester United game started. i was a little surprised when i saw my mother sleeping in the living room. she said there was a spider in her bed. of course, she doesn't know if it was real or imagined. welcome to my life. i got the coffee on, went through my emails and had breakfast. United started off on the front foot and it was clear Everton was simply going to defend and counter attack. United was up 1-0 at halftime. and then of course, United got sloppy in the second half and gave up the tying goal. a 1-1 draw with an Everton side that wasn't at full strength at home is unacceptable. and to think they could have gone top of the league if they had won. i hope Ole knows the clock is ticking on his job at the club. i can't imagine they brought back CR7 to not win shit.
the Yankees lost to Tampa last night, 4-3. Boston and Toronto won, but thankfully Seattle lost last night. that means all the Yankees need to do is win today and they are in the playoffs.
the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night by the Devils, 7-1. that was rough even for fucking preseason. they play tonight in Boston.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
Ohio State plays this afternoon at Rutgers. this has trap game written all over it.
i will probably watch some of Notre Dame vs. Cincinnati game today as well.
i'm sure i'll get a nap to some soccer today. of course, it is supposed to rain today as well. joy.
thanks to everyone that has checked out my latest published poems:
the New Orleans Saints whipped Green Bay yesterday, 38-3. Jameis Winston threw 5 touchdowns, the defense looked great, etc. etc. other than a few injuries, this might have been a perfect game for the Saints. what a way to start the season.
the Yankees lost last night to the Mets, 7-6. they play a makeup game today at home against the Twins. they are currently out of a playoff spot and i don't expect that to change anytime soon.
Scenes From a Marriage was excellent last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan was really good last night.
Heels was great last night.
Billions was good last night.
American Rust was really good last night.

when i heard that New Jack had died last night, i was crushed. he was always one of the reasons ECW was so fucking amazing back in the day. 58 years old. i hope everyone realizes how amazing you actually were and will forever be.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
A Black Lady Sketch Show was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live. i have already watched ROH and MLW this afternoon.
the Yankees got a clutch home run from Gio Urshela last night to defeat Baltimore, 5-4. hopefully they win again tonight.
i did watch Leicester win the FA Cup this afternoon over Chelsea.
i went out shopping for my mother this afternoon. i had to go to Rite Aid to get some pills. couldn't find any baseball cards there. i did find the pills my mother needed. then i went to Big Lots because i had a 20% off coupon. i didn't find any baseball cards there either, but i did find the cookies my mother loves and a little table for our front porch. she has some tomato plants that she is growing and wants to get them as much sun as she can. she also knows the cicadas are coming as well. fun times. so that little table will be for the plants in the afternoon sun. and whenever we get packages or food delivered, that table will come in handy as well.
i will probably watch the Preakness once i get this blog done. i have picked Midnight Bourbon to win.
the NHL playoffs start tonight as well.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. i'm hoping i will get more sleep tonight than last night. nothing like going to bed at 3 and waking up at 7:15. fun times.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
watching this crowd of dumb fucks crash the capitol building today was like watching Senior Day at high school but there was more drugs and alcohol involved. i would love if the protestors that left the bombs or took pictures at the podiums, etc. i fucking would love if they all get arrested and charged with crimes. and i am fucking happier than shit that one of them got shot and died. this is what happens with a cult you dumb fucks.
so, last night i witnessed a team i have loved since birth lose to a team of fucking clowns for the first time in 15 years. Dayton lost to Fordham, 55-54. this is a team that plays down to its competition and has a coach unwilling to coach it out of them. you can tell this team misses Obi so damn much and is fucking unwilling to give two shits about figuring out how to win without him. they play at Davidson on Friday. i wouldn't be shocked if Davidson hands them their asses on national television.
thankfully, the USA vs. Canada game went much better. the USA defeated Canada 2-0 to win the gold at the world juniors. it's always nice to see Canadian tears on Canadian soil when the USA wins.
i took a shower last night and i guess i got the water a little too hot. i have a tendency of passing out when that happens. of course, as i have gotten older, it usually results in me having to take a shit. good times.
i did find it funnier than shit that the Democrats won both races in Georgia last night. poor Mitch, now the minority leader. going to be funny actually seeing shit get done in the Senate now.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Dancer, Name That Tune, NXT and AEW.
so, i did get all the grocery shopping done in time to watch the Manchester United game today. i kind of wish i would have just stuck to my usual schedule so i could have been spared watching them fucking lose to Manchester City in yet another semifinal of a competition. fuck me. United lost 2-0.
i did get some baseball cards at Rite-Aid today. there really wasn't much in the Fairfield box. i might have made back what i paid for it, maybe.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

as a writer, i certainly do enjoy chaos. it keeps life interesting. now, watching the white nationalists use the climate the country is currently in to try to get their long awaited race war they have always wanted, that's a different story. i know for myself, i wouldn't side with those white fucks if they would even pay me. and i'm certainly interested to see, given the number of them that are in the police forces and the national guard, how do they "keep the peace" when they are called in for these riots. i hope to one day wake up in a country that fucking understands propaganda and is fucking smart enough to see through it and know the truth. i have little faith that day comes any fucking time before i die.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
Betty was good last night. the season finale is next week.
Jesus Trejo: Stay At Home Son was very funny last night.
enjoy some music:

i watched a little bit of the Bundesliga this morning. of course, i fell asleep during it.
i'm not sure what the fuck is even on television today, so i'm going to try to get some writing done. lord knows, there is plenty to write about.

my father blessed me with the asshole gene. and on these days, where my patience is thin, my arthritis is raging, i had 3 shits before 10:30 this morning and the incompetence of the world is driving me up a fucking wall... the asshole gene will eventually come out. the part of me that wants to see the world burn. the part of me that wants to run every fucking driver on their phone off a bridge. the part of me that wants to play with matches and gasoline. i'm not sure if any of you understand how difficult it is to control that fucker for 43 years. i'm not saying i deserve an award, but i'm not saying not to give me one either.
the grocery store was a fucking zoo today. how i managed to keep everything under $150 is beyond me.
i was up at 5:20 this morning. i made it to the hospital on time. the tech doing the ultrasound was this little blonde i would have broken in two. the whole process took twenty minutes. she was pressing hard enough that i knew as soon as i got home, i was going to have to shit. good times.
the New York Yankees start a series up in Boston tonight (weather permitting). i'd love to see them sweep all 4 games.
Big Brother went exactly how i wanted it to last night. Jessica got evicted. Nicole won HOH. Cliff won the VETO. and thank god, they finally evicted Christie from the house.
i did watch most of the NFL game last night. Green Bay defeated Chicago 10-3. at least the game made me feel like going to sleep was going to be pretty damn easy.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Real Time with Bill Maher and the season finale of A Black Lady Sketch Show.
the USMNT takes on Mexico tonight in a soccer friendly. i'd love to see the USA win, but i'm not holding my breath.
my sister is supposed to come down here tonight for her birthday weekend. that should be interesting.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
it's started to rain here now. nothing quite like having the bones of an old man. i knew it was going to rain when i walking into the hospital at 7 this morning. joy.

i tried to go to bed at a decent hour last night, hoping i would get some sleep. it was more like 5 plus hours of tossing and turning, with my left ankle feeling like it was going to explode. good times.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.
i will probably be on here after the USA women play tomorrow. tomorrow is also my mother's birthday. she hasn't mentioned if she wants to go out or not. my sister won't be down here until next weekend.

when i saw the news that John Singleton died today, it really hit me. he was just 51. that's only 8 years older than i am. i was in high school when Boyz N the Hood came out. one of those movies that i probably watched a thousand times or so. most of my black friends more or less lived that life. it wasn't necessarily an eye opener for me, but it certainly made me realize the two different worlds in this country. rest in peace John Singleton. you were one of the best storytellers of any generation. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/john-singleton-dead-trailblazing-boyz-n-hood-writer-director-was-51-1203526
i wrote 2 poems this morning. i had a line pop in my head as soon as i woke up. i haven't done much writing this month. not writer's block per se, just not really in the mood.
speaking of poems, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees won yesterday at San Francisco, 11-5, to sweep the series. of course, 2 more injuries yesterday. hopefully, neither are serious. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series tomorrow in Arizona.

we're having lasagna for dinner tonight. i had to help mom put it in the oven as it was way heavier than she could carry.

when i watched the weather forecast last night, i was happy i was drinking. this week looks like it is going to be fucking crazy. a chance of rain or snow everyday and the temperatures will range from the 30's to fucking 70 degrees. as i told my mother, time for everyone to get sick again i suppose.
i really enjoyed the NBA All-Star Saturday night shit last night.
the Dayton Flyers did their best to give away the game late last night to Fordham. thankfully, Fordham sucks enough that they didn't want to win. Dayton won 80-70. they play again on Tuesday at home. it's a late start and given that mom has rehab that day, there's a pretty decent chance i won't be going.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Ottawa 6-3. good to see they are sticking to the plan. they play today at home against Philadelphia.
Manchester United won yesterday 2-0. they have advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. next up will be a match in the Champions League.

i have my television set up to turn off if the channel hasn't changed in 4 hours. i know if i wake up and it's still on, i didn't get enough sleep at all. that happened this morning. thankfully, i was able to go back to sleep. when i next saw the clock, it was over 3 hours later. hot damn. this will be as close as i get to refreshed for days.
the New York Rangers came from behind last night to defeat Columbus, 5-3. that's 4 wins in a row. amazingly, they have pretty much dug themselves out of the hole they started the season in. they play tomorrow at home against Boston.
Vice News Tonight last night was all about the Paradise Papers. i urge everyone to find this show on demand and watch it.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i was a little surprised at Sheamus & Cesaro winning the tag team championship. but, if that produces The Shield vs. The New Day at Survivor Series, i'm cool with it.
Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge was very good last night. the music was great and i learned a few things from the stories. hopefully tonight's episode will be just as good.
enjoy some music:

i have to take mom to get some blood work done and a brain MRI today. after she's done with that, i have to take her to go vote. she forgot to send in her absentee ballot. and then after all that, i have to get back here and get the trash done and do something for dinner. thank god i did the dishes last night.
i'm going to bring along pen and paper with me today, just in case a few poems pop in my head.

today was yet another cloudy, rainy, gloomy day. perfect for a poet, if that poet wasn't riddled with arthritis.
i did send out 27 poems today; 6 to ZYX, 5 each to Otoliths, Shot Glass Journal and Synchronized Chaos, 3 each to The Beatnik Cowboy and Bluepepper. when i hear back from these places (i've already heard back good news from Synchronized Chaos) i will post the verdicts.
the New York Yankees held on for a 3-2 victory yesterday over Tampa. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Baltimore. they are 3 1/2 games behind Boston in the division.
Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Alex was evicted. Paul is the new HOH. i believe he also won the POV, so Christmas will evict the next house guest. that will probably be Kevin. Paul has already said he wants to take Josh to the final 2. hopefully that plan blows up in his face.
You're the Worst was great last night.
Total Bellas was pretty damn funny last night.
Lucha Underground was celebrating its 100th episode last night. i would say about 95 out of the 100 have been excellent.
NXT was really good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, The Chris Gethard Show, Better Things and Fuck, That's Delicious Classics.
i made a little trip over to Meijer today after i went to the post office. i needed some picture frames (on sale) and a few odds and ends and mom was low on Diet Coke (on sale). so, i figure i would get that today while i was out. i know how the drug fiends get when they are going without.
i need to go to the grocery store tomorrow, so i will probably be on here after that.
i believe the fucking sun is supposed to come out tomorrow. it would be nice if the weekend was at least fucking bearable here.
