so, i went 14-2 yesterday on the college basketball games. hopefully, i can repeat that today.
there's where the good news ends. the USMNT lost to Panama last night, 1-0. Panama's only shot on goal went in basically at the death of the game. fuck me. simply not good enough and honestly, the team has a ways to go to even sniff success in the World Cup, eventually.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Toronto, 4-3.
i slept like shit last night. could never get the pinched nerve to calm down, so basically i slept in 45 minute shifts. joy.
i have to take mom to get some death certificates today. i love taking care of some legal shit that could have been dealt with nearly a decade ago.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher.
by this time tomorrow, the Dayton Flyers will be getting ready to play in the NIT.
so, the goal will be to get the blog done before that game tomorrow.
i think the weather is supposed to be shitty this weekend, so that will be good for watching college basketball.
i'm going to try to take a nap before i have to start driving. thankfully, it won't be a far drive.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
best of luck with your brackets and your gambling today.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
my mom asked me last night if i thought she was going to die before spring? how the fuck do i answer that? i replied to her, what do you want to hear? i know why she is depressed. it is coming up on the 23rd anniversary of her second husband's death. she has never stopped grieving that. i never expect her to as i know there is no time table for the grieving process. i also know she is in pain and nothing is working to help her really. what pisses me off is she won't ask for help until she absolutely needs it. and then, will get mad at me for helping her because apparently i don't do it the way she wants me to. i'm trying to keep my cool and remain calm, but i know how i have no patience for this kind of shit. this is where i have to just give her as much space as possible and hope she comes to her fucking senses at some point and just lets me do this shit. it is painfully obvious that this world has past her by now.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
welcome to Sunday boys and girls. yesterday was a very long day for me, mostly because i watched mom struggle all day. first off, i watched her fall in her bedroom basically because she was doing stupid shit. why you would need to answer the phone on a Saturday morning after it had stopped ringing is beyond me. add in that it was dark, she can't see worth a shit and once again, wasn't using her rollator. i do understand that accidents happen. i also understand that most of them are preventable. on top of that, she bitched about her laundry yesterday. i reminded her if she actually needs help, just fucking ask. instead, she likes to play this passive aggressive bullshit that honestly drives me up a fucking wall. so, that was most of my yesterday. good times.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
i tell my mother all the time that when one of my teams lose a heartbreaker, it becomes a scar on my brain. after what happened last night at the 4 Nations Face Off, i have another one to add to the collection. Canada defeated the USA 3-2 in OT to win the 4 Nations Face Off. i should have seen it coming as soon as i saw the footage of Orange Hitler calling the team and wishing them luck.
the USWNT won last night against Colombia, 2-0.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
well, it wasn't as cold as it has been, but it did snow today. just enough to coat everything again. Orkin came out this morning to check the traps in the attic. no squirrels this time. i did get a nice long nap with some ice on my back before the Manchester United game today.
Manchester United won today at home against Rangers, 2-1, in the Europa League.
the USMNT defeated Costa Rica last night, 3-0.
AEW Dynamite was pretty good last night.
Abbott Elementary was very funny last night.

well, today has been interesting. i believe Substack has become a tool of the russian bots. there is no fucking way all these single women think i'm attractive and want to fuck me. hell, even when i thought i was handsome, twenty some fucking years ago, there wasn't that many then either. but, i also want to believe that many one of these are real, an actual fan of my poetry, etc. i know, first world problems...

St. Denis Medical was fucking hilarious last night.
NXT was good last night.
the grocery store was a bit crazy today. mom gave me her insurance card and credit card to pay for her medicine, in case the price didn't go down from the $1,200 it said online. well, they put the new insurance in but couldn't take the price down because the insurance hasn't approved for mom to be on this medicine that she was on under the previous insurance. and, on top of that, mom's credit card got denied, so, i had to put it on mine. i can't imagine why i am in debt. i told mom about her card when i got home. she called and they told her it hadn't been used in 3 weeks, that's why they declined it. even though she bought shit online with it the night before. what a load of horse shit. i did get everything on the list.

i went to the bank this morning to make a deposit. no big deal, there was a little rain but thankfully it wasn't freezing rain. as i was coming out of the bank, i noticed this contractor talking to the police in the parking lot. as i got in the Highlander, the cop was leaving and this old guy comes racing out of the bank. he starts yelling at the contractor, you fucking asshole, you stole money out of my account, i should punch you in the fucking face. i was like, i guess i can wait around for a bit. the old guy was probably in his 70's, the contractor was maybe late 30's. the old guy got into the contractor's van. the contractor got out and got on his phone. i started the Highlander and left, obviously there wasn't going to be the violence i could have another book of poems about. oh well.
i did write 1 poem last night. i have 5 in the unpublished file. i'd love to get another 5 so i can send to a couple different places.

i sat at the car dealership for 3 hours today. now, i did get 4 poems written and went through 3 sticks of gum. after all that and $444, the Highlander was back to good. they had to completely replace the thermostat. there is a 1,000 mile warranty on it. so, i figure it will hit the fan when 1,001 miles hits. i'm going to type up the poems later tonight. after those 3 hours, i then had to go grocery shopping for the third fucking day in a row. i hate grocery shopping on Fridays. i survived, found just about everything mom had on the list. made it home in time to eat lunch at 5 PM. and people wonder why i always have a big breakfast.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

i did watch the first two episodes of Say Nothing last night on Hulu. i'm hoping to get the rest of the series done this weekend. it was really fucking good.
i'm hoping to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays Northwestern at Wrigley Field at noon.
i was absolutely gutted last night. it hit me hard enough that i gave in to my inner demons and shaved my head. i haven't done that in years. especially in my 20's, i would grow my hair out in the summer and then shave it all off in the winter. maybe last night was the beginning of my mid-life crisis. that certainly wouldn't surprise me.
for everything the Yankees did right in Game 4, the complete opposite happened in Game 5. they started off great last night. they were up 5-0. and then came the errors, the mental lapses, etc. etc. that have plagued this team all season long. the Dodgers did what good teams do when your opponent gives you extra outs. they got 5 unearned runs in the 5th last night to tie the game. the Yankees actually took the lead again at 6-5. but, the bullpen faltered and that was that. the Dodgers won 7-6 to win the World Series 4-1. i was really hoping that i would wake up to the news today that Aaron Boone was out as manager. but, i guess Hal is nothing like his father. anyone with a brain knows that fundamental mistakes come down to a coaching staff not drilling it into the players heads to make sure they do all the little things right. this should be a crazy offseason. the Juan Soto sweepstakes start on Monday. my best guess is he will go to whatever team makes him the highest paid player ever in MLB. i am 95% sure that won't be the Yankees. if just making the World Series is good enough, i really wish the team would change the mantra. it certainly isn't win or bust anymore.
the season finale of Grotesquerie was a bit of a mind fuck last night. i really hope there will be a season 2.
AEW Dynamite was pretty good last night.
Abbott Elementary was pretty funny last night.
Inside the NFL was very good last night.

i did write 3 poems last night. i got them typed up and saved, etc. i will hopefully send some poems out later tonight. fingers crossed.
