i almost had a feeling that the New York Rangers were going to find a way yesterday to stay alive in the playoff chase. i quickly saw how foolish that thought was after the first 40 minutes. they lost at Carolina yesterday, 7-3. that eliminates them from the chance to make the playoffs. they are the 4th team to win the President's trophy the previous year and miss the playoffs the next. the Rangers have actually done that twice now. the last time they did it, they won the Stanley Cup the next season. oh, if only history could fucking repeat itself.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

try sleeping during a tornado watch...
i think i got close to 4 hours last night. probably a little over 3 is more likely, but i did feel like i got some sleep when i got up this morning. i got up right before the thunderstorms were going to pound us. the tornado watch has expired but we now have a high wind advisory until tomorrow morning.
the Dayton Flyers pissed away a lead late last night and lost against St. Joe's in overtime, 73-68. that means Dayton will once again miss the NCAA tournament. but, i'm guessing they will get an invite to the NIT, which i wish they would turn down as that should be beneath at this point.

a snowy day...
well, it wasn't as cold as it has been, but it did snow today. just enough to coat everything again. Orkin came out this morning to check the traps in the attic. no squirrels this time. i did get a nice long nap with some ice on my back before the Manchester United game today.
Manchester United won today at home against Rangers, 2-1, in the Europa League.

running on fumes...
so, i got 3 hours of sleep last night. i woke up this morning and realized mom kept the coffee pot on last night. i woke her up and let her know. she thought for sure she had turned it off. so i had to get that soaking, since we don't have a backup pot. (mom destroyed that one years ago doing the same damn thing) she had tea this morning instead of coffee.
i did type up those 4 poems last night. i should get some poems out before Thanksgiving.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.

and off we go...
so, i took a weed gummy about a hour ago and i think it has kicked in a little bit, so let's see how this goes.
i did take mom to her foot doctor today. in and out, probably in less than 10 minutes. and thankfully, it wasn't hotter than shit today.
thankfully, i didn't watch one second of the Yankees loss to Boston last night at home, 3-0. god, the Yankees fucking suck right now. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow down in that dump in Tampa.

the muscle relaxers are working...
i actually slept for more than 4 hours in my bed last night. i guess the muscle relaxers are working.
here are your highlights from Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final.

welcome to the weekend...
well, today has been a bit crazy. i couldn't sleep worth a shit last night. 2 hours at best before i was up again. even ice on my back didn't really help until after i had breakfast this morning. i got a good 4 hours after that. i just love drinking coffee and then getting sleepy. i know it is the pills i am on, but still. i'm not sure if mom remembers she needs to get blood drawn or not. she didn't mention anything about it today. i did go to Meijer this afternoon after a nice long shower. i found what we needed and i also found some football cards. they had this cube with cards in it for a little over $10. i decided fuck it, why not. i am so fucking happy i got that. the autographed card in it was of Jim Marshall. that card is going for around $50. and then holy shit, there was a Russell Wilson rookie card in it as well. ok, that works for me. i pressed my luck on the way home and got some baseball cards at Rite Aid. i paid $9 for the two boxes and there was about $15 in them combined. not as much as i was hoping for, but the football cards more than made up for it.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:

the fun of having writer's block
so, in the grand scheme of things, i started this blog to hopefully fucking avoid this problem. writer's block is one of those things that truly scares the shit out of me. i know once the words go away, i'll be left to just my thoughts and death won't be far behind. so, doing an everyday blog was my way of making sure writer's block would be a foreign concept to me. so, last night, like i do on most holidays, i sat down to write. i had a decent opening line, but that was it. and it never went past that. two hours staring at a blank page and all my imagination could come up with was closing the notebook and pretending to sleep. good times.
the Yankees split a doubleheader against the Mets yesterday. they blew the first game as Gerrit Cole and (why the fuck is he still the closer) Aroldis Chapman pissed away leads. they lost that game 10-5. thankfully, they won the second game, 4-2. they are off tonight and start a series in Seattle tomorrow night.

welcome to June
and imagine that, the Floyd family autopsy is much different than the one the county did. who could have seen that coming?
other than the asshole that runs this place getting his talking points from Fox & Friends (a show i have never fucking watched and never will), this morning was a slow one.
i guess the dinner i made last night helped mom out. chicken and a ton of vegetables. her gut has calmed down finally.
VICE was excellent last night.
Billions was very good last night.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels was good last night.
Hightown was fucking great last night.
I Know This Much Is True was fantastic last night.
Insecure was really damn good last night.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual once again.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Songland and Fuck That's Delicious. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 293 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2020/6/1/notsam-wrestling-293-the-greatest-wrestling-match-ever
i did watch a good bit of that NASCAR race yesterday. another crazy finish...
i got scolded at the bank today for having a roll of quarters. i guess next time i'll go inside and make sure i have a runny nose and a cough. i was hoping to find a lamp at Meijer that has a USB port for my mother. of course, they had one with two outlets on it, but no USB. thankfully, i had better luck with the baseball cards i got today. still no 2020 cards, but i bought my first pack of 2019 Topps Gallery and was pretty impressed with those.
one of these days i'm going to start selling my baseball cards off. if you would be interested in them, please feel free to send me an email and let me know. (jcampb4593@aol.com)
i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know it's supposed to warm up tomorrow. so, i'm guessing i'll be closing up the house and turning the AC back on.
i hope everyone had a great weekend, all things considered.
until tomorrow kids...
stay healthy.

the problem with the weather getting nice around here...
i did a little poetry work today. i think i know where my next round of submissions are going to. i believe i'll be sending out 38 poems sometime early next week.
the New York Yankees couldn't do shit last night, that was up until the 9th inning. once Houston took Justin Verlander out of the game, the Yankees offense woke the fuck up. Gary Sanchez hit a massive 3 run homer and the Yankees won 4-0. the Yankees bullpen was spectacular yesterday as they got 24 outs in the game. the Yankees starter left after the first inning with a tight elbow. i'm hoping it's just a fucking minor strain and nothing more. the Yankees play again tonight at Houston.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was really good last as well.
The Voice was good last night. i didn't agree with either of the two that were up for elimination last night. oh well.
The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was very good last night.
here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Being Serena. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i'll probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight as well.
i believe i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. it's like a hour away or so. and it's supposed to be raining. oh joy.
i think i spent most of today trying to figure out the fucking song trapped in my head all morning. thankfully, i did. you'll see it as the first song in the music section today.
i'll be on here in the afternoon tomorrow after mom's appointment. i figure we're probably going to lunch after the appointment. i think the appointment is about her social security disability. so, we might go out drinking as well, who knows. i'll be on here after all that is over.
that's all for me kids.

it's just blood
the New York Rangers got obliterated last night by Pittsburgh 7-2. as soon as i saw the coach was starting the backup goalie again, i didn't watch past the first Penguins goal. i think the injuries have finally caught up to the Rangers when playing good teams. the boys take on Minnesota on Friday.
to cement a shitty night, i heard back from Rose Red Review on my poetry submission from October. apparently the poems were good but just didn't fit the direction of the issue. it's sort of like getting your pants down, teasing yourself and then deciding to go to sleep instead.
the season finale of Scream Queens was excellent.
the Tony Bennett special last night was much better than i thought it was going to be.
205 Live was excellent last night. Neville makes the show must watch.
Smackdown was off the charts great last night. i loved Renee Young slapping The Miz. making the world title match a triple threat next week is great, especially with Baron Corbin involved. add in some Becky Lynch trickery and all in all, it was a great show.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Total Divas and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network when i get home from the basketball game.
the Dayton Flyers take on Vanderbilt tonight at home. this a MUST win game for Dayton if they want to be playing in the NCAA tournament in March.
i'm going to the game with my sister which should be interesting. she's been with me at enough sporting events to know i'm a little bit crazy when it comes to this shit.
i did listen to the latest Jim Norton and Sam Roberts podcast today. i highly suggest you check it out. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-006-tj-miller-nick-kroll-john-mulaney
i'm not exactly sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. expect something in the afternoon probably.

don't worry, soon this shit year will be over...
i sent out 21 poems today, most likely my last submission of 2016. i sent 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Easy Street and Synchronized Chaos. i sent 6 poems to The Recusant. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
it was cold as fuck again this morning. thankfully, the temperatures have been rising, of course, that means we're going to most likely get some freezing rain tonight. good times.
the guy working on the furnace showed up on time this morning. he told me that we'll most likely have to get a new igniter for it in 2017. that's better than a new furnace, and cheaper.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
Total Impact was funny last night. some of the matches were just laugh out loud for how bad they were. seeing a ton of the old faces from my youth simply reminded me just how long i've been watching wrestling. but, in the end, if the object was to be memorable, they pulled it off. i still won't be a regular viewer, but crazy shit will always get me to stop and watch.
i didn't watch much of the football game last night. i certainly didn't miss anything, but i picked the game right.
the New York Rangers won last night, 2-0 over Dallas. i nearly lost my voice when The King got run over by that piece of shit Cody Eakin. thankfully, The King was able to return to the game. he was spectacular last night. Rick Nash scored the game winner shorthanded. the Rangers added an empty netter for the final score. they next play at Nashville on Saturday.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and 3 episodes of NJPW.
thanks to the ones who have already sent me Christmas cards. i really do appreciate it.
i guess the insulation project has been rescheduled for next Friday. that's going to be a grand clusterfuck for me. i have an eye appointment and a basketball game that day as well. oh joy.
it's supposed to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow. that should be high enough to get everyone sick after 3 days of it's fucking cold.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'll be on here in the morning before Manchester United plays. if not, i will certainly be on here before the Dayton Flyers play Saturday night in Chicago.

what a joy it is to have a face that scares children
the New York Yankees pissed away a good game on offense with some shitty middle relief pitching to lose 7-5 last night in Seattle. Gary Sanchez did become the first Yankees rookie to have 8 home runs in his first 19 games. that's something DiMaggio, Mantle, etc. never did. the kid is fucking amazing. hopefully they find some middle relief pitching that is amazing as well. they play again tonight.
Monday Night Raw was interesting last night. Finn Balor had to give up the Universal Championship because of injury. he'll be out 6 months because of shoulder surgery. i feel so damn bad for him. next week they will crown the new champ in a fatal 4 way (Rollins vs. Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Owens). i'd love to see KO win it. The Dudley Boyz called it a career last night. thankfully, they passed the torch to Gallows and Anderson and went through the table. what i'll probably remember the most from last night was Bayley finally making her Raw debut. it's long overdue. all in all, not a bad show.
i did watch the first five episodes of Holy Foley last night on WWE Network. it's more or less like most of their "reality" shows, cringe worthy bad with a few sprinkles of great. i did enjoy all the time with Becky Lynch and how emotional Mick Foley got when seeing the Hell in a Cell cage in WWE storage. that is one of the biggest HOLY SHIT moments in the history of professional wrestling.
i also watched the first two episodes of the CM Punk documentary the UFC did. i admire Punk for doing this. i wish he was this open during his wrestling career. hopefully he will do well and shut up all the fucking critics.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks.
the pain pills seem to be working on mom already. i did notice that she seems to be walking better as well. so hopefully she's on the way to getting better.
i have trash to pick up and i probably should get my laundry going as well. one of those days where i feel busier than 9 cats covering up shit in a windstorm.
