good news to report...

so, my doctor's appointment went well today. my weight was down just about 10lbs. my A1C went down a full point (7.8 to 6.8). the doc wanted to know what changed and i told her i basically cut out 90% of the sweets i would usually eat. so, now i know what i need to stick to. basically, i have to cut chocolate out of my life. i guess i will have to treat this like when i stopped smoking. but, it would be nice to cut my A1C even lower and then maybe get off of some of these pills.

after i got out of there, i had to go to Kroger and get mom's prescriptions. and then go to Rite Aid to pick up my 3 prescriptions. i then went home to give mom the good news. as soon as i walked in she told me she did something stupid. she hit her head on the corner of the ledge where our microwave is while cleaning. i checked her and i didn't see any blood or bruising but she does have a headache. this is why i get uncomfortable anytime i leave the fucking house and she is alone. so yeah, what should have been a happy afternoon has turned into one of those mindfucks that there are no good answers to. joy.

the Yankees won last night over Toronto, 5-3. Gerrit Cole basically won the AL Cy Young award last night with his performance. 8 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 9 strikeouts, 0 walks. he's now 14-4 on the season. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Arizona.

well, i guess the tool to put videos in the blog today isn't working. oh great.

Big Brother was good last night. Cameron was the first one evicted. then Jared was evicted. but, neither are out of the game just yet. they are Big Brother zombies for the week and one of them will get to stay in the game. this should be interesting.

NJPW was excellent last night. it was the G1 Climax 33 main event between Okada and Naito.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and two hours of AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i did watch the USWNT game last night against South Africa. the USA won 3-0.

i should be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays at Burnley. it will definitely be before Ohio State plays tomorrow night at Notre Dame.

i hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

breakfast at noon

i'm not sure last night could have gone any worse for me. just one shitty thing after another. i was beyond fucking annoyed by the time i got to bed at 5 this morning.

the New York Yankees lost to Toronto last night, 11-5.

the New Orleans Saints lost to the Raiders last night, 34-24. just too many fucking penalties, too many mistakes, and the defense could never force the Raiders off the field when they needed to. fuck.

i watched Monday Night Raw mostly on fast forward last night. from what i did stop to watch, it was not good.

The Third Day was really fucking weird and good last night.

We Are Who We Are was good last night.

i did listen to episode 309 of Notsam Wrestling last night. you can find that by going here:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW and the season finale of Deadliest Catch.

here are your highlights from the NHL last night:

i will probably watch some of the NBA tonight.

Manchester United won 3-0 today. i followed the game on the internet for the most part.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i need to get the trash picked up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

it was fun while it lasted...

the Red Scare ran out of gas yesterday and lost to the Golden Eagles in the TBT, 79-70. the one thing the guys need to do to actually win this tournament is find a point guard. that, and actually have some depth as well. that was what killed them yesterday. the Golden Eagles will play Sideline Cancer, who had a massive upset of Overseas Elite in the second game yesterday. the finals are on ESPN tomorrow night.

neither one of us wanted to cook last night, so i had cereal for dinner. it's like i'm in my 20's again.

the season finale of Hightown was really good last night.

Black Monday was pretty funny last night. the season finale is next week.

The Chi was excellent last night.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.

Perry Mason was great last night.

I'll Be Gone in the Dark was amazing last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Fuck That's Delicious and I May Destroy You. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did see a little of the MLS game this morning. i really can't believe Toronto blew a 2 goal lead will playing a man up for the entire half...

i did get through some more of my baseball cards last night. i found some pretty damn good football cards last night, as well as a ton of baseball cards from 1986. plus, is anyone looking for any Craig Biggio rookie cards? i have plenty to sell.

i have no clue when i will be back on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

a gloomy day, in more ways than one...

first off, i wanted to give a shout out to the muse. i know you haven't had the best day and these are the moments where i love our friendship more than anything. if you need anything beautiful, please let me know.

mom's doctor's appointment went well today. she needed to get some blood work done for her liver afterwards. i told her we should just get that done now rather than wait. 20 minutes later, we were out of the place. i think that's all of her appointments for this week, unless she decides she wants to get her hair done this weekend.

the New York Yankees lost last night 8-7. but, they won this afternoon down in Tampa 12-1. they took 3 out of 4 in the series and now go on to Boston for the final series of the regular season. the magic number to clinch home field in the wild card game is 1.

the New York Rangers lost last night at home to the Islanders, 4-3 in OT. i didn't watch any of the game. the Rangers play tonight in Philadelphia. this is their last preseason game.

the season finale of Big Brother went pretty much how i thought it would last night. Kaycee won the final HOH and took Tyler to the finals with her. Kaycee won the jury vote 5-4. Tyler won America's favorite player. 3 showmances were talked about and one engagement happened. this was easily one of the most memorable seasons of Big Brother in years.

Total Divas was pretty good last night.

American Horror Story was a holy fuck ride last night. i went from being shocked, to being pissed to being really, really happy at the end.

Mr. Mercedes was an excellent mind fuck last night.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

205 Live was good last night.

the Mae Young Classic was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.

i will probably watch some of the NFL game tonight between the Vikings and Rams. it will be yet another game where i wish for both teams to lose.

i did listen to episode 205 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2018/9/27/notsam-wrestling-205-the-iiconics-undisputed-era-amp-samoa-joe

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the grocery store.

it has been incredibly gloomy here all damn day. this is good writing weather, especially for an asshole like me. i might bust out a poem or two late tonight, if the mood strikes.

of course, as is life, everything is subject to change.

that's all for me kids. best of luck to anyone betting tonight.

so much still to do

i've got about a million things i want to get done before i have to take my mother to her physical therapy today. a shower, a shave and a trip to the bank are at the top of the list.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 5-3.  they are 45-41 at the All Star break. i remember when they used to be 15 games over .500. oh well. i will probably watch some of the Home Run Derby tonight, just to see Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez.

WWE Great Balls of Fire was excellent last night. it looked like it was going to be a good one on paper and for the first time in a long time, it was better. the ambulance match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman was great. hopefully it was the double turn that all of us older fans thought it was. Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was pretty good, even though i was hoping Joe was going to do a little more damage in the match. the tag team title iron man match was way better than it should have been. all in all, i really have no complaints.

part 1 of The Defiant Ones last night on HBO was excellent. even though i knew most of it, it was great to see some of the old footage of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. hopefully part 2 tonight is just as good.

Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i think Cody knows he's dead man walking.

Power was great last night. next week's episode looks to be even better.

Twin Peaks was fucking crazy once again last night. i love just how surreal this show is.

I'm Dying Up Here was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Defiant Ones, Part 2. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i see that Manchester United has made it official. they have signed Romelu Lukaku. hopefully he continues to score goals like he did at Everton.

that's all for me kids. i'm sure i'll have stories to share tomorrow after the bank and physical therapy. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

don't worry, soon this shit year will be over...

before i gripe about single digit temperatures and no fucking sun for another day, a little poetry news.

i sent out 21 poems today, most likely my last submission of 2016. i sent 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Easy Street and Synchronized Chaos. i sent 6 poems to The Recusant. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

it was cold as fuck again this morning. thankfully, the temperatures have been rising, of course, that means we're going to most likely get some freezing rain tonight. good times.

the guy working on the furnace showed up on time this morning. he told me that we'll most likely have to get a new igniter for it in 2017. that's better than a new furnace, and cheaper.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Total Impact was funny last night. some of the matches were just laugh out loud for how bad they were. seeing a ton of the old faces from my youth simply reminded me just how long i've been watching wrestling. but, in the end, if the object was to be memorable, they pulled it off. i still won't be a regular viewer, but crazy shit will always get me to stop and watch.

i didn't watch much of the football game last night. i certainly didn't miss anything, but i picked the game right.

the New York Rangers won last night, 2-0 over Dallas. i nearly lost my voice when The King got run over by that piece of shit Cody Eakin. thankfully, The King was able to return to the game. he was spectacular last night. Rick Nash scored the game winner shorthanded. the Rangers added an empty netter for the final score. they next play at Nashville on Saturday.
Eakin did get suspended for 4 games for the play. hopefully he will also get his ass whipped when Dallas comes to play in New York.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and 3 episodes of NJPW.

thanks to the ones who have already sent me Christmas cards. i really do appreciate it.

i guess the insulation project has been rescheduled for next Friday. that's going to be a grand clusterfuck for me. i have an eye appointment and a basketball game that day as well. oh joy.

it's supposed to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow. that should be high enough to get everyone sick after 3 days of it's fucking cold.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'll be on here in the morning before Manchester United plays. if not, i will certainly be on here before the Dayton Flyers play Saturday night in Chicago.

old bones and snow, not a good mix

we got a few inches of snow overnight. i didn't think it was much until i saw that schools were closing. it has snowed on and off all day long. that is supposed to continue into tonight. i told mom with how she was feeling and how i was feeling, there's no point trying to go out today. the last thing i need is either of us falling and breaking something.

so that means i will be watching the Dayton Flyers on the television tonight. they play against Duquesne. Dayton is up to 19 in the AP poll. that is the highest Dayton has been in February since the 60's. hopefully they take care of business once again tonight.

the New York Rangers were without two of their best players last night. thankfully, they decided to not feel sorry for themselves. they were dominant for most of the 60 minutes last night against New Jersey, although the last few minutes were a little more scary than they should have been. goals from Klein and Miller and some huge saves from The King, the Rangers won 2-1.

The X-Files were pretty interesting last night. i'm interested to see where the show goes in the last few episodes.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. they saved the Daniel Bryan retirement to the end. that was probably for the best. i loved that Dean Ambrose showed just how crazy he is by going after Brock Lesnar. plus, anytime Ziggler and Owens wrestles anymore, it's a classic. the Daniel Bryan ceremony was excellent. i teared up a few times as he was easily one of my favorite wrestlers of this generation. he will be missed, that's for sure.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Muppets and Total Divas.

i guess i should actually got out and get the paper and mail now. hopefully the driveway isn't icy.

sometime tonight i'm going to go through some poems and see where my next round of submissions are going to go to. i've got a couple of places in mind, including a few new ones.

that's all for me kids. i was busy on iTunes this morning, so you may see some songs that you wouldn't think i would listen to.

i hope this finds everyone warm and enjoying something. i'll let your imagination decide what you think i think that something is.

and people think i like being the asshole...

i somehow managed to get more than 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm not exactly sure how it happened, but it certainly came in handy. not that i really had much energy today or anything, but it did give me enough to be the cantankerous asshole today. i think i am slowly realizing why we moved next door to my uncle. as his health is failing, my mother is becoming more and more the caretaker of him and his wife. and since my mother's health isn't great, you know who gets to do all the shit work. this is certainly how i expected to live the rest of my life... shaming my uncle into recycling, separating their trash. imagine my joy of getting a plastic bottle out of a bag of used pads. there's got to be about 50 fucking poems right there. these are the days where i used to be able to just go sit outside and not be heard by anyone or seen by anyone. sit on the backside of a barn, smoke something, have a bottle with me, and just let my thoughts go. now, i can be one of these assholes and just sit in my garage watching everyone else in the neighborhood do the same thing. if only my bedroom had a shitter in it...

after doing about 90 minutes of surveys today, i started to go through the poems. i have 28 poems that will be sent out soon or something like that. i set aside some poems for places that i will send to once i hear back on my prior submissions. the old John Wooden line is forever in my head... failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

i still have the trash to pick up around here. i will try to get that done sometime tonight between all the shit i want to do.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. they had their chances but, as usual this season, they pissed them away. i really hope they win at least one game in this series so i don't have to watch the Blue Jays celebrate making the playoffs against the Yankees. Severino pitches tonight. his 2 worst games in his young career have been against Toronto. god i hope that changes tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night 6-3. of course the game was blacked out here so i had to wait until later to see the highlights. they play again tonight against Philadelphia. i will be able to see that one as it is on the NHL Network. they are trying out the 3 on 3 OT tonight. that should be interesting.

i thought The Voice last night was pretty good. one performance really stood out to me:
hopefully the show tonight will be even better.

Gotham last night was brilliant. i can't wait to see how this season turns out. The Big Bang Theory was good. i thought i would laugh a little more than what i did. Life in Pieces was hilarious. that's a new show that i really think will make it.

ok kids, time for intermission:

and now some of this and that:

and now possibly the greatest cover of a song i have ever heard:

with the Colts losing last night, i went 6-10 on my NFL picks for week 2. not good. but, i did win all 3 of my fantasy matchups. hopefully i have found the right combination of players to start a nice long streak. and hopefully my picks are much, MUCH better for week 3.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Scream Queens, The Muppets and Total Divas. i'll be flipping between hockey and baseball for most of the night.

i got some FREE music at NoiseTrade today. i will put those links down in the music section.

i will be on here early tomorrow as Manchester United plays in the afternoon. of course, i will have to find the game somewhere on the internet to watch it. hopefully it goes much better than their first game in the Capital One Cup last season.

that's all for me kids. i think we're going to have to turn the air conditioner back on here. we've gone a few days with the windows open. the humidity is slowly getting to me.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

one of my last visits to the farm

got up this morning and felt like hell. it was raining on and off all night. my right ankle felt like it was broken in about 50 places. but, the past few weeks have really sharpened my pain tolerance. i'm not exactly sure how i'm walking, but i am. after mom and i went to McDonald's for breakfast (probably not the best choice) we went to the farm. i spent almost 18 years out there, trying to build a habitat good for animals, plants, insects, humans, etc. while driving up the lane, the fuckers that bought the farm in the auction (but technically don't own it yet) have taken it upon themselves to make the farm look the way they want it to. all the fencing is gone. all the cats are gone. the trees that were my cousin's father's trees from California are gone. there's these huge piles of wood and trash all over the place. i told mom it's a damn good thing i took the gasoline a few weeks ago or there would already be a few bonfires going on the farm. i put air in the tires of my truck. i'm hoping it goes for something north of $50 in the upcoming auction. we had to break down a few shelving units that we want to use in the garage of the new house. after a few hours, it was more or less time to go. if i don't have to be at the upcoming auction (mom will be out of town), today is probably the last day i will be at the farm. it was sad to see all those damn trees knocked down. the pastures were mowed, which is the first time they were touched in a decade. i kept them high so animals could hunt in them or hide in them while being hunted. i have no clue what the new owners are going to do with the place. i'm pretty sure i won't like it regardless. most of this afternoon i've been thinking of what happened to the cats. my gut tells me they are dead. and not like they were out and about and got caught my another animal dead. like they were caught and killed and dumped somewhere. if i had any guilt in my body, this would be where it would be killing me. but i don't. part of the asshole gene i suppose. just a few more weeks and all of this will be over.

i did watch most of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions last night. it was cool to see Joan Jett play. hard to believe Green Day has been around that long. plus, i loved the induction of Stevie Ray Vaughn. between him and Lou Reed, the tears of nostalgia were flowing last night.

the Stanley Cup Final is set. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay. sadly, my dream final has always been Chicago vs. New York Rangers. what could have been.

ROH last night was so damn good i watched it again this afternoon. the buildup between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe has been excellent. i can't wait to see that match.

the weather has cooled down a bit today. of course, it took a day or two of rain to have that happen.

time for a music break:

the New York Yankees got some great relief pitching last night and a few clutch hits to win 5-3. they go for the split this afternoon.

after the game, i'll probably go right to watching the WWE Network. i am really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber matches tonight. hopefully, Kevin Owens will destroy John Cena. plus, the two chamber matches for the titles tonight should be amazing. hopefully i'll have plenty of videos to share tomorrow.

so on the DVR tonight will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight. i figure i'll watch a few after the wrestling and then catch up with the rest either Monday morning or afternoon.

while going through some shit last night, mom came across a thank you note sent to both of us back in 1981. it came from one of the hostages that was in the Iran hostage crisis back in 1979/1980. as you might imagine, i wasn't the normal 4 or 5 year old. being able to read at 2, i was fully aware of current events by the age of 4. hell, by 8 i was reading at a college level. not sure where i'm going to keep this letter, but it will find a place somewhere in this house.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun is out where you are.

another day in the heat

just another miserable day out here on the farm. the sun has been relentless. at least most of the animals have been smart enough to stay in the shade and drink some water. of course, overnight i had three bird feeders get fucked with. at least nothing was broken.

i didn't do much last night other than try to enjoy being able to get online again. i watched most of Big Brother, telling my mother what really happened and how CBS likes to edit the show to keep with their story lines, not what is actually happening. and then i started watching Duck Dynasty. and like a dumb ass, i completely forgot that The Bridge was on last night. so, i will be staying up tonight to watch it at 2 in the morning. fuck, i need a DVR soon.

the internet has been a little spotty today. mostly due to the fact that all these children stay indoors and stay online all day long. as one tech put it to us, we're at the end of the line. we get whatever broadband is left. it makes for so much fun in the afternoons and after midnight as i imagine most of those kids are looking at porn after their parents have gone to bed.

i'm being slightly entertained with the silly season and Manchester United. plenty of rumors for me to laugh at. i wouldn't mind if they signed someone soon though. i'm getting a touch restless.

with another guy going home tonight on Big Brother, i really hope someone unexpected wins HOH so maybe a girl goes home next week. that show will be like nails on a chalkboard if it's just the women left.

and of course, my laughs for the evening will be with Wilfred on FX. i love that show.

if i'm not too tired come morning, i'm going to try to get some poems together to send out. just 2 submissions at the moment. i've got a little more time than i thought on the third submission. that will allow for some other editors to get back in touch with me and perhaps change what i'll be sending out. of course, i wouldn't mind if everything i sent out gets accepted and i have to write some new ones quickly. (like that's going to happen)

that's pretty much all for today. here's hoping you are cool wherever you are...
