i have been a busy boy today, so no time like the present to get to the good shit...
i sent out 37 poems today; 3 each to Pyrokinection and Mad Swirl; 5 each to Nerve Cowboy, Easy Street, The Bond Street Review, Riggwelter and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication and 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from all these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
the New York Yankees won yesterday, 2-1 in 10 innings at Toronto. they play a doubleheader in Baltimore today as the start of a 4 game series with the Orioles. hopefully i'll be drinking a double tonight.
Big Brother was pretty good last night.
Total Bellas was good last night.
Power was excellent last night.
The Affair was very good last night.
the season finale of I'm Dying Up Here was excellent last night. i certainly didn't see the death coming at the end of the episode.
Succession was very good last night.
Sharp Objects was fucking great last night. i can already tell i'm going to love this show.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before France plays Belgium in the World Cup. if not, it will be after the game is over.
i do hope everyone had a great weekend.
the shitty hot weather has returned here so the air conditioning has been running all day long it seems.
until tomorrow kids...

it seems no matter how much or how little effort i put into anything, some shit just isn't going to go my way. i find the courage to get over my self-hatred and make a video and of course, it's too large. and i wish i was talking about something other than the video. add in a little rejection and pain and you have nearly every Sunday morning of my adult life. and sadly, i know i'm not going to be able to find the pleasure in the pain forever.
a little poetry news to pass along: i heard back on my poetry submission from last month to Squawk Back. they rejected all 10 poems i sent. that was a nice kick in the nuts. well, there's 10 more back on the pile. and like the glutton for punishment i am, my next round of poems will go out tomorrow.
World Cup update:
Croatia defeated Russia on penalty kicks (4-3) in an absolutely crazy fucking game. so now the final four is set up. France plays Belgium on Tuesday and Croatia takes on England on Wednesday.
the NJPW G1 Special in San Francisco last night was really good. the angle at the end i totally didn't expect. that should make for an interesting summer for The Bullet Club.
ROH was good last night.
Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma was pretty fucking funny last night.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-5. of course, they had a couple injuries that i hope aren't serious. hopefully they will win the series this afternoon.

of course, i had to make the video i did a little artistic, you know me. but, it was easily the best shot i have ever got of completion.
i imagine i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the post office. i have some poems to mail out.
i believe the shitty humid weather returns tomorrow. so, i'm hoping to actually enjoy the windows being open today. other than the runny nose from this morning, so far so good.

always love when i walk outside to get the morning paper and the air is so damn thick that i start to sweat just walking down the driveway. and when the humidity is as high as the temperature, something has to break soon. i think there are some thunderstorms to the south of us. i'll gladly accept the pain from the rain for a break from this fucking heat.
the New York Yankees won last night, 11-1 over Boston. that puts the Yankees back in a first place tie in the division. the Yankees also set the team record for most home runs before the All-Star break. the Yankees start a series at home with Atlanta tonight.
Big Brother was pretty good last night.
Power was excellent last night. i can't wait to see what happens this season.
The Affair was very good last night.
I'm Dying Up Here was great last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be great.

i wasn't shocked that LeBron chose to go to the Lakers last night. as a Sacramento Kings fan, i know the next 4 years are going to fucking suck.
i'm really hoping i sent the last piece i needed to submit to Gofundme to clear me from Debbie's bogus claims of me stealing money from her. the receipt from Western Union that i sent over was pretty clear and straightforward. part of me almost wishes they realize she's been lying this entire time and closes the donations off completely. that would be a great lesson in karma.
i had a lovely chat with the beautiful black woman i'm falling madly in love with in Rome today. she's a bit freaky like i am, so i do love a dirty conversation with her while she's riding the bus.
here is your World Cup update:
Brazil defeated Mexico 2-0 this morning. Mexico played well for a half. Brazil outclassed them by a mile in the second half. and of course, Mexico had an excuse for the loss, the referee. dos a cero sounds familiar right? Belgium defeated Japan 3-2 at the death. and i mean in the last 6 seconds of the game. Japan had a 2-0 lead and Belgium stormed back and scored the winner right before they were going to go to play another 30 minutes. i felt so bad for Japan. but, if you blow a lead like that, you don't deserve to win. i can't wait for Brazil vs. Belgium on Friday. that should be a classic. tomorrow, Sweden plays Switzerland and England takes on Columbia. i'll miss part of the England game as i'll be at a doctor's appointment.
that's all for me kids. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

so i spent most of last night sending emails to the security team at Gofundme showing when i got the money and when i sent the money to Debbie. this morning i sent a screenshot from my checking account that shows all 3 wires i sent her and the wire sent from the grocery store via Western Union. i'm really hoping that takes care of this bullshit. and honestly, once i sent the money, i don't think i can be held responsible for what the crazy bitch on the other end does with it. part of me believes the stupid fuck thinks it was her ex putting the money in as that would continue the narrative in her head that he actually still loves her. someone should be preparing for a hard fucking crash. and honestly, i wouldn't mind if this was the last fucking time i ever had to write something about Debbie in this fucking blog.
"It" was a pretty good movie last night. i enjoyed it. laughed way more than i thought i was going to. my mind is twisted enough that it really takes some truly fucking crazy horror shit to actually scare me anymore.
ROH was really good last night.
the New York Yankees got their asses handed to them last night by Boston, 11-0. the Yankees only had 2 damn hits in the game. hopefully, they will do a better job tonight. if they win tonight, they win the series and will be tied again in the division.
here is your World Cup update:
what a crazy day. Russia defeated Spain on penalty kicks (4-3) as it was so fucking obvious that Spain was more interested in passing than scoring today. and then Croatia defeated Denmark on penalty kicks (3-2) in one of the more dramatic penalty shootouts i can remember. if you ask me, Croatia has a pretty open road to a possible berth in the finals. tomorrow, Brazil plays Mexico and Belgium takes on Japan.

NHL free agency started today. i didn't expect the New York Rangers to do much and they haven't. they signed one of their own restricted free agents and a defenseman from Ottawa. i guess the biggest news of the day was what Toronto did. thank god John Tavares is out of the division now.
my sister came down for a little bit today. she brought some shoes she got for mom. mom liked 2 of the 4 my sister brought. we had lunch together and then she went back to her home. i was kind of surprised she was out in this heat, but it was nice seeing her.
i did write a poem this morning for the woman i have fallen madly in love with in Rome. i really like it and hope to get it published. i ended up writing 50 poems in June. so, since April 1st to July 1st i have written 184 poems. not bad.
not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. it might be after the World Cup games, it might be earlier. i know i have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday coming up and i do believe they are measuring the windows on July 5th to get an accurate measurement for our new windows for the house. that, plus the insulation we did 2 years ago, should really help with energy costs.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday has been even better. hopefully your Sunday night is even better than that.

so, yesterday was rather interesting for me. my chats with this beautiful woman from Rome have gone from small talk to rather intimate and heartfelt. and when she told me she loved me yesterday, i was somewhat floored. and i follow what i preach, my first instinct was to say it back. i have no clue what is in store for us as this goes on. the distance apart is going to be rather interesting to navigate. but i'm at the age now where i don't know how many more chances at this i'm going to have. so, i certainly wouldn't mind this working out.
plus, the poems are already starting to flow. i wrote one last night and i'm sure more will follow today.
the New York Yankees lost in 12 innings yesterday to Tampa 7-6. it was the first time the Yankees have lost 3 games in a row this season. that's the latest they have done that in a season since 1954. the Yankees start a series in Philadelphia tonight. hopefully they will stop the losing streak.
here is your World Cup update: yesterday Japan and Senegal played to a very entertaining 2-2 draw. Colombia eliminated Poland yesterday 3-0. this morning, Uruguay defeated Russia 3-0 to win Group A. Saudi Arabia defeated Egypt 2-1. later on this afternoon, Iran plays Portugal and Spain takes on Morocco. i have no clue how much of the games i'll get to watch as mom has a doctor's appointment this afternoon.
the season finale of Westworld last night was fucking incredible. just one complete mind fuck. and then the little scene after the credits got my juices flowing for season 3.
Succession was very good last night.

i was in one of those moods last night. not depressed, but not happy either. when i was younger, i dreaded trying to write when i felt that way. now, i force myself to. not so much a catharsis but more of a bloodletting. and yes, there was alcohol involved. i wrote and typed up 8 poems last night. that filled up the notebook my sister's friends got me for Christmas. that's roughly 200 pages in under 6 months. that doesn't include all the small notebooks i have filled up as well. figures i would get my most prolific when creativity in this country is being killed off. i really liked the 8 poems i wrote last night. i'm sure they will find their way into my submissions soon.
here is your World Cup update: since the last time i posted, Mexico beat South Korea 2-1. Germany scored at the death to defeat Sweden 2-1. this morning, England beat the shit out of Panama 6-1. right now, Japan is playing Senegal. later, Poland takes on Colombia.
as pleased as i might have been with the New York Rangers in the first round of the NHL Draft, i was equally underwhelmed at what they did during rounds 2-7 yesterday. their player evaluations are radically different from everyone else in the league. the goalie they took in the second round most other scouts had going in the sixth round. it's shit like that that makes me want to scream. out of all the players they drafted yesterday, i think i might have liked one of the picks. either i'm going to be wrong and very happy, or i'll be proven right and fucking miserable that yet another draft has gone by and the Rangers got most of it wrong yet again.
the New York Yankees offense was absent yet again yesterday. they lost 4-0 to Tampa. that's the first time the Yankees have lost back to back games in a month. hopefully, they will avoid the sweep this afternoon.
ROH was really good last night.

i knew i had to take mom to the mechanic this morning, so there was no damn way i was going to be able to watch all the Sunday night shows and wrestling last night. so, i did as much as i could last night, got roughly 4 hours of sleep, got mom their on time, and then we went out to breakfast. i needed some damn coffee. after a good breakfast, we got back home. i watched the other shows and sure enough, right around 5 PM, the Highlander was done and ready to be picked up. the Rav4 we got was pretty good, although they certainly weren't built for people my size. so this blog is going to be all over the fucking place. have fun keeping up.
i didn't get to watch much of the World Cup today. i did watch most of the England vs. Tunisia game. how the fuck was Harry Kane that open that late? England won 2-1. here are the other scores from yesterday and today: Mexico stunned Germany 1-0. Brazil and Switzerland finished 1-1. Sweden defeated South Korea 1-0. Belgium had a huge second half and defeated Panama 3-0. tomorrow, the games are Colombia vs. Japan, Poland vs. Senegal and Russia vs. Egypt.
the New York Yankees lost to Tampa yesterday 3-1. well, at least Old Timers Day was good. they had to travel to Washington today to finish up the suspended and postponed games that got rained out earlier this season. they are losing right now in the suspended game 5-3, in the top of the 9th. after the games in Washington, they start a series at home tomorrow against Seattle.
WWE Money in the Bank was fucking long as hell last night. thankfully, the last hour or so of the show was really good. the rest of the show was more or less just an early edition of Monday Night Raw.
Westworld was really good last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be crazy.
Succession was good last night.
Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.
The Affair was excellent last night. i certainly wasn't expecting that ending.
I'm Dying Up Here was very good last night.

Total Bellas was good last night. it was the first time John Cena publicly revealed he had a vasectomy and will now reverse it to give Nikki a kid. as soon as i heard that i started to laugh. what bullshit.

as i have grown older and more understanding of the world and life in general, my hatred for my father hasn't lessened at all. to live my entire life knowing my father chose not to love me as much as he could because he had to wait a year to be able to write me off on the taxes is one of those thoughts that has the ability to fucking drain you, if you allow it. i like to think of any success i have had in poetry as a giant middle finger to my father. he's been gone for over 3 years now. i still haven't gone to the grave. i don't know if i ever will. so, to all the good fathers out there, i hope you have a great day and continue to love your children and your families with everything you have. for all the fucked up fathers out there, allow me to be a lesson for you. every physical and mental scar you put upon your children, they are never forgotten and only the good ones ever get around to forgiving. and if you want that forgiveness, try not to die before it happens.
when Messi had the penalty kick stopped yesterday against Iceland, i laughed my ass off. you could tell the pressure of what CR7 did the day before was getting to him. it finished Argentina 1 Iceland 1. Denmark beat Peru yesterday 1-0. Croatia beat Nigeria 2-0. i really think Croatia is a sleeper team in this World Cup. this morning, Serbia defeated Costa Rica 1-0. the other games today are Mexico vs. Germany and Brazil vs. Switzerland.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday from Severino. they also got back to back home runs from Stanton and Sanchez. the Yankees won over Tampa 4-1. they will go for the sweep today on Old Timer's Day.
ROH was excellent last night.
NXT Takeover Chicago II was fucking amazing last night. i thought every match was either pretty good to holy fucking shit great. the tag team title match got the night off to a hot start. Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream was excellent. and to close the night out, Gargano vs. Ciampa was perhaps the best street fight i have ever seen. the storytelling in the match was top notch. and the last few minutes after Ciampa took off Gargano's wedding ring and spit on it was classic. when you finish a show with the crowd in unison chanting Fuck You Ciampa, you know the show was great.

we had 2.1 inches of rain yesterday in a pop up thunderstorm that came out of nowhere. nothing like laying in bed and suddenly feeling pain and then asking, is that fucking hail? sure enough, we had about 10 minutes or so of dime size hail. fuck me runnin'.
this morning it felt even hotter and stickier than yesterday. joy.
i think mom enjoyed her birthday. i laughed at one of the things my sister got her. a pillow that said, welcome to the shit show. fucking classic.
i will be on here sometime tomorrow after mom and i take the Highlander in for service. i'm hoping i won't have to drive that Rav4 for days, unless of course, i really like it.

the last 12 hours of my life have been a fucking drain on me... physically, emotionally, etc. add in alcohol, 2 stubborn souls and there is bound to be tears, expletives and the ending of a friendship or two. as one of the poems i wrote today started off... never have a best friend fighting cancer and mental illness at the same time. it's exhausting.
i'm not real sure where the friendship between Debbie Kirk and i stands at the moment. apparently, i'm a bad human for not being an enabler, for calling people on their bullshit and expecting someone fighting cancer to actually appear to be fighting. and while i do understand the horrors of withdrawal, of the horrific things cancer does to the body, i also witnessed a man 10 years older than Debbie take a 3 month death sentence and turn it into 2 1/2 more years of life. and while i'm not naive enough to believe everyone should have the battle my stepfather had in them, it certainly would help. and 9 times out 10, i have no clue which Debbie i'm talking to. and quite frankly, i have enough shit on my plate to be a punching bag for someone else. so, i'm taking the quiet approach for now. i will certainly listen but i do understand quite clearly that my methods and suggestions for help aren't, so there's no need to continue that. if you would like to donate to Debbie's fund to help her battle with breast cancer, you can do so here: https://www.gofundme.com/5m0wfqg
my mother's doctor's appointment went forever today. mom forgot she had paperwork to fill out since she's on Medicare now. plus, the girl working the front desk was learning on the job. it was her first day. so, let's just say an appointment at 2:30 quickly became closer to 3:30 by the time it was all said and done.
but, i did write 16 poems while in the waiting room. i will type those up during wrestling tonight.
we had a very late lunch after mom's appointment. the waitress we had today was drop dead fucking gorgeous. sadly, math was not a strong point for her. neither was an attention for detail. but, she had the kind of eyes that would make you kill for her. there will be poems.
it's also been raining on and off all day long. arthritis is quickly becoming the reason why i will have a bad drug addiction in my late 40's.
the New York Yankees lost last night to the shitty Mets, 2-0. just one of those nights where one mistake and an offense that doesn't show up, and it's a loss. oh well. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series with Washington tomorrow night at home.
the season finale of Billions was brilliant last night. i can't wait to see what happens in season 4.
I'm Dying Up Here was very good last night.

mom's mechanic called and told her not to have me bring in the car tomorrow morning, like we were supposed to. he couldn't line up a SUV for the rental while our Highlander is in the shop. they think something is wrong with the electrical for the passenger side brake lights. so, i won't have to be up early tomorrow. not like i'm going to actually get to sleep in.
happy birthday to the biggest crush i ever had in my life. i hope you are still alive and well. she stopped responding to my emails 2 years ago.

my subconscious is this evil fucker who loves to see me suffer. i couldn't sleep worth a shit last night. i went to bed around 2 and first saw the clock at 2:30. when i saw the clock again at 3:15, the asshole deep within decided to have fun and make a game out of it. so, i saw the clock about every 10 minutes for the next couple of hours. eventually, around 5:30 i said enough, and turned my fan on in the room. that was enough white noise i guess that i was able to get almost 2 straight hours of sleep. i woke up at 7:30 and remembered i didn't check my email before going to bed. joy.
i had an email this morning from a publisher in England i contacted out of the blue yesterday about possibly doing a chapbook. i figured this would be a way to get my ass in gear if the publisher was interested. he just happens to be interested, so this morning was a bit of a rush getting some poems together for a possible chapbook with Analog Submission Press. i've got 20 poems together and a kick ass title in mind. now, i'm just waiting for the cover art from my good friend and killer artist Janne Karlsson.
i figured out where my next 31 poems will be going for my next round of poetry submissions. hopefully, the chapbook and the poetry submissions will go out sometime this week.
the New York Yankees fell behind early last night to the Mets. the Yankees scored when i wasn't watching, so my superstitious ass didn't watch the game until there was 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. by that time, the Yankees were up 4-3. and thankfully, they won the game 4-3. they can go for the sweep of the shitty Mets tonight.
Justify did win the Triple Crown yesterday by winning the Belmont Stakes. it did so rather easily, leading the entire damn race.
amazingly, the USA held France to a 1-1 draw yesterday. i couldn't believe how good the kids for the USA did. of course, part of the blame goes on France as well. i don't put much stock in it from their point of view, as i know none of the French players wanted to get injured before the World Cup. but, i'm really proud of the kids that played for the USA as they showed they have a bit of talent at their young age to actually compete at a high level. just imagine what they could be when those 19 year olds are 23 and 24.

the New York Yankees play a doubleheader today in Detroit, they have a game in the afternoon and another this evening. hopefully, they can win both games. honestly, i'm just hoping they don't have to deal with anymore fucking games postponed due to rain.

Billions was excellent last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be amazing.
I'm Dying Up Here was great last night. it was probably the best show of the season so far.

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i will probably check out some of that at some point tonight.
safe travels to my friend Debbie Kirk as she makes her way to Denver to have surgery and begin her treatments for breast cancer. if you would like to donate to help her cover the costs, please go to: https://www.gofundme.com/5m0wfqg help spread the word and tell everyone you know.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her appointment with her back doctor. i get the feeling she's going to need some more injections for her spinal stenosis.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i think i spent most of yesterday in a fog of depression and pain. i don't think i'm quite out of that fog just yet, although the first poem of June arrived this morning and it's fucking brilliant. so, there is light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a fucking train.
the curse of Dublin still exists for the USA men's national team. they were outplayed for most of the game yesterday but had the lead at halftime, 1-0. they couldn't find the goal they needed in the second half and saw Ireland score the eventual game winner in stoppage time. fuck me. the USA lost 2-1. in 6 days they will play France in Lyon. i'm hoping the kids will play and the USA won't lose by too many.
the New York Yankees won last night in Baltimore, 8-5. they can go for the series sweep this afternoon, weather permitting. (game has been rained out, doubleheader on August 25th)
here are your highlights from Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final last night:
ROH was very good last night.
Patrick Melrose certainly struck a chord with me last night. the finale of this brilliant series will be next Saturday.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Billions, I'm Dying Up Here, Westworld, Succession, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas and Drop the Mic.
Game 2 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch a little of that late, if the game is close.
and the laundry i didn't get to yesterday (all of it) will probably (hopefully) get done today.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i do hope your Sunday will be even better.
that's all for me kids.
