so, i did watch most of the opening ceremony at the Olympics today. that was epic to say the least. of course, long as fuck as well. and i can't wait to see how many people got sick because of the rain. i think they said it was the first time there was rain during the opening ceremony in 50 or 60 years.
one thing i have noticed is i don't hate this day as much as i used to when i was younger. of course, i am on a weed gummy right now, so maybe that is why i don't mind this July 26th. for those in the dark, my father would have been 78 years old today. thank god he never saw one day into his 70's.
i did watch Big Brother last night. Matt was evicted. i am really hoping this house is going to be cutthroat this season. Chelsie is the new HOH.
NJPW was good last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was very good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up tonight on Peacock.
the Yankees start a series tonight at Boston. i don't think i will watch much of it. maybe they will do better with me not watching.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i guess it depends on when i wake up and what events are on when.
of course, this will be my first time betting on the Olympics, so that should be fun.
i hope everyone has a good weekend.

so, the thunder woke me up at 7:30 this morning. i was planning on being up early as i knew mom wanted to be up early to make a phone call. i woke her up 3 different times before she finally got up and made the call. she was supposed to have an appointment today but mistakenly took a medication she was supposed to stop before her appointment. so, they had to reschedule the appointment for later in October as she had no interest in doing it at 8 AM on Monday. so, that opened up my day. and of course, it had to be raining. so, it was ice, some stretching, and catching up on whatever sleep happens to be. good times.
the Yankees won again last night in Toronto, 6-0. Gerrit Cole pitched a complete game shutout. he walked no one and gave up only 2 hits. Aaron Judge hit 2 home runs. the Yankees go for the sweep tonight.
i did catch the highlights from the Houston Dynamo winning the U.S. Open Cup last night.
AEW Dynamite was very good last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.
American Horror Story was fucking nuts last night.

oh, where to begin... so, i forgot to put mom's rollator in the Highlander yesterday and only remembered it when i pulled up to the building where the doctor's office is. there wasn't a cane in the Highlander either. but, this actually worked out well. mom was able to walk without much anxiety or discomfort or trouble. she thanked me for forgetting the rollator as it gave her a chance to see her own progress with her physical therapy. but, anyone that knows me knows i beat myself up way too much for shit like this. i tend to believe this is the reason why i wasn't able to write anything last night or this morning. punishment. welcome to my world.
the doctor's appointment went well for my mother yesterday. her A1C is excellent and the doc is putting her on something that might help her sleep better. after the appointment, we got some Wendy's and went home.
the Yankees won last night at home against Houston, 4-3. that surprised me. two wins in a row, holy shit. maybe they can make it 3 tonight.
i did see a little of the Leagues Cup games last night.

today has been one of those days where the time change has really caught up to me. i think i actually got some decent sleep for the first time in forever. of course, we're talking about a little more than 5 hours. it has snowed here a couple times today. fuck, it was snowing sideways for about 10 minutes. thankfully, it stopped long enough i could go get the mail out of the mailbox and not have to do it in a mini-blizzard.
i was really hoping the Dayton Flyers were going to win yesterday. they had the lead at halftime against VCU. they came out hot in the second half and pushed the lead to 11 points. sadly, then the usual happened. Anthony Grant got outcoached by a fucking mile. Dayton never makes any fucking adjustments while every other fucking team in college basketball can figure what isn't working and then go to plan b. i guess plan b never exists in Anthony Grant's world. he's been at Dayton for 6 years now and has won absolutely fucking nothing. and i know the year COVID hit Dayton was a top 3 team in the country and was going to have a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, etc. but, shit happens. Dayton missed their last 15 shots in the game (i haven't seen shooting that bad since i watched elementary school teams 30 fucking years ago) and lost to VCU, 68-56. Holmes and Camara made the all tournament team. Holmes was voted the player of the tournament. first time it has gone to a player on the losing team in nearly twenty years. after the game, Dayton announced that they wouldn't be accepting any invites to the NIT, etc. i laughed as i read they listed injuries as why they wouldn't be playing again this season. i'm sure if they would have won the game against VCU, they would have gone to wherever the NCAA told them to go. i'm guessing the team is going to look completely different next season. the rumors are a handful of players are leaving. i wouldn't be shocked if a few assistant coaches got offers at other schools to either be head coaches, etc. the one thing that won't change is Anthony Grant as head coach. i don't think the athletic director has the balls to fire him like he should. mediocrity is the only thing the fan base desires to be honest. win 20 games, nothing but positive talk about the school, the arena, the fans, etc., get a bid to the NIT since for all the blue hairs that were kids in the 50's, that was the only tournament that mattered. that was also the only time the Dayton Flyers mattered. i'm 99.9% sure i won't be getting season tickets any longer. i'm just so disgusted with this mentality of good enough when everything is in place to be great. except for the head coach. and they are so fucking blindsided by loyalty, since Grant is a grad, he will probably be there until he dies. what a fucking joke.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Pittsburgh in OT, 3-2. at least they got a point out of the game.
the New York Knicks won yesterday at the Lakers, 112-108.

the New York Rangers won last night over Montreal, 3-2.
the USMNT was lucky to get a 1-1 draw against Jamaica yesterday. considering how they played, the draw was certainly better than a loss. they are second in the group now as Canada beat Mexico last night.
The Voice was good last night. the two that got eliminated were the two i gave the lowest scores to, so i wasn't sad at all to see them leave.
NXT was really good last night.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Rhode Island. hopefully, they will keep up the momentum from their victory at Saint Louis.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. hopefully, they can win a second game in a row tonight.
hopefully, i'll have 3 victory drinks tonight.

mom did have her doctor's appointment today. she got an injection for her bones. i wrote 10 poems while she was getting that done. i will type those up later tonight. after her procedure, we went to Waffle House. before the procedure she wanted to go to Miller Lane, where all the chain restaurants are. after the procedure and walking a little, she knew she couldn't do that. so Waffle House it was. the waitress there knows us. joy.

i went to the bank today and made a deposit. after that, i had to go to the grocery store and get pills for me and my mother. after that, she wanted me to bring back breakfast from McDonald's. i can tell she's fucking tired of Thanksgiving leftovers.
i wrote 8 poems while she was doing physical therapy today. i typed those up this afternoon. i will hopefully get a batch of poems out in the next week or so.
Manchester United pissed away a second half lead once again, drawing with Aston Villa 2-2. the sad truth is the club is a mere shadow of its once glorious self. and this week is only going to get worse.
WWE Starrcade 2019 was okay last night. honestly, the only thing that saved it for me was Kevin Owens.
Batwoman was good last night.

last night was really great. 4 hours of pro wrestling. amazingly, both AEW and NXT hit home runs last night. and if this is how it's going to be on Wednesdays... holy shit, my Thursdays are going to be unproductive as hell.
NXT started off white hot and never really stopped last night. if i had to pick a winner, they would get my vote.
AEW was pretty good last night. two things they have going for them in my eyes is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, Chris Jericho and my favorite tag team of right now, The Lucha Bros.
24/7 College Football was about the Florida Gators last night. it was a good show.
The Masked Singer was really good last night.
American Horror Story was excellent last night.
Cake was awesome last night.
i didn't watch a second of the baseball game last night. i wasn't surprised that Tampa won 5-1.
i did watch a little of the hockey last night. it's great that the season has finally started.

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, The Unicorn, Perfect Harmony and Mr Inbetween. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i had to go to the drugstore today to get some things for mom. when i got home, i started watching Manchester United. they played a listless 0-0 draw today in the Europa League. now, i can be positive and talk about the defense keeping a clean sheet. or i can bitch about a team that played 90 minutes and had more players injured than shots on goal. fucking pathetic.
the New York Rangers season starts tonight at home against Winnipeg. i'm a little disappointed with the number of kids the Rangers sent down. i would have loved to seen them playing up here and learning on the fly. oh well. hopefully, the season gets off to a good start and they shock some people this season.
i'm about halfway done with my laundry. i was hoping it was going to be cooler today. i don't think of 87 degrees on October 3rd as cool.
i may check out some of the football game tonight between the Rams and Seahawks.
i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i did do a little poetry work last night/this morning/this afternoon. i know where my next 14 poems are going. i'm hoping to get those out before the weekend.
the game last night between the Yankees and Twins was fucking crazy. truly, an instant classic. the Yankees won 14-12 in 10 innings. both closers blew saves, both teams hit what they thought were game winning home runs, DiDi went 5 for 5 with 7 RBI, first AL shortstop to EVER do that, and Aaron Hicks, a former Twins draft pick, made a crazy fucking catch to end the game. hopefully, the Yankees win tonight and win the series. here are the highlights:
Smackdown and 205 Live were both excellent last night.

WrestleMania was just under 7 1/2 hours long last night. now, the good thing was it really didn't feel that long. the pace of the show was really good. most of the matches went how i wanted them to go. the best match of the night was Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan. that will go down as one of the best WrestleMania moments in history. the women's main event was good, although i would have loved to see a conclusive finish. but, i do understand having a little controversy to keep the feud alive. that being said, Becky Lynch winning both titles was the right call. and thank god, Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar and now the Universal title will be on Monday Night Raw every week. the Raw after Mania is always crazy, so i can't wait to see what happens tonight.
the New York Yankees whipped Baltimore yesterday, 15-3. the sweep of the Orioles puts them over .500 for the first time since opening day. they start a series tonight in Houston.
