i always want to believe that a shower before i go to bed allows me to sleep better. of course, it isn't true, but i really want to believe it. oh well.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.
the New York Knicks won last night at home over Miami, 112-103. Miami now leads the series, 3-2.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.
AEW Dynamite and the season finale of AEW All Access were both really good last night.
The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night. next week is the season finale.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon and NJPW.
the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against Tampa.
i am pretty sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.
so far today, the weather has been damn near perfect. hopefully, it stays that way.

it never fucking fails, if it is going to be windy around here, it has to happen on trash day. at least i haven't had to go chasing anything, yet...
the New York Rangers won last night over Montreal, 3-2.
the USMNT was lucky to get a 1-1 draw against Jamaica yesterday. considering how they played, the draw was certainly better than a loss. they are second in the group now as Canada beat Mexico last night.
The Voice was good last night. the two that got eliminated were the two i gave the lowest scores to, so i wasn't sad at all to see them leave.
NXT was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer, Alter Ego, Batwoman and Hard Knocks.
i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tonight at home against Lipscomb. i'm really hoping Dayton plays better tonight and wins.

i decided to be an adult last night and check my email before i went to bed. i had 398 emails. fuck me. i fell asleep this morning at 5:50 AM. i woke up with the phone ringing sometime before 10 AM. i have been in a fucking fog ever since. joy.
i did do a little poetry work last night/this morning/this afternoon. i know where my next 14 poems are going. i'm hoping to get those out before the weekend.
the game last night between the Yankees and Twins was fucking crazy. truly, an instant classic. the Yankees won 14-12 in 10 innings. both closers blew saves, both teams hit what they thought were game winning home runs, DiDi went 5 for 5 with 7 RBI, first AL shortstop to EVER do that, and Aaron Hicks, a former Twins draft pick, made a crazy fucking catch to end the game. hopefully, the Yankees win tonight and win the series. here are the highlights:
Smackdown and 205 Live were both excellent last night.
Miz & Mrs. was fucking hilarious last night.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was excellent, as usual.
in my fog today, i managed to put out the new solar lights mom bought yesterday. i'm hoping they look good tonight. apparently the new lights i got for the outside are a bright yellow, which i don't mind. but, i guess our lights are set to a motion setting, so they blink like crazy whenever there is any motion. that should keep people away.
i wrote 4 poems today while mom was in her physical therapy session. i typed those up when i got home. i really like them. that puts me at 30 poems for the month. so, i'm hoping to write a few more and then start mapping out the February submissions and getting a book proposal together.
mom's physical therapist is concerned that mom might have a detached retina in her right eye i believe. good times.
Monday Night Raw was good but certainly not great last night. with all the hype that was put into it, which i completely understood given the 25th year anniversary of the show, there was no fucking flow or rhyme or reason to much of the show. i did enjoy Stone Cold coming out and whipping some ass. i did enjoy The Miz winning the Intercontinental Championship once again. and i did enjoy Elias beating up John Cena. it didn't help that we had thunderstorms rolling through last night either. that knocked out the satellite a few times. i honestly thought they would do more to perhaps tease some of the performers from the past, both male and female, of showing up at the Royal Rumble ppv this Sunday. i guess that would make too much sense and get in the way of just 3 hours of fucking nostalgia.
Mosaic was really good last night. i think i'm really going to enjoy this show this week. i am certainly intrigued to see what happens tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets, Mosaic and Hate Thy Neighbor. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Anaheim. it would be nice if they would end their losing streak tonight.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Davidson. i still haven't decided if i'm going to the game tonight or not. i still have a few things to get done before i can even really think about it.
most of that is picking up the trash here and next door. i have no damn clue how long that is going to take since i didn't do it last week.
it has been raining here for most of the day. my arthritis certainly made lunch interesting today. nothing like having salad dressing slip out of your hand and on to the carpet. sometimes my arthritis simply decides that my hands are going to be useless at a time where i really need them. and yes, your dirty minds are also correct.
that's all for me kids. if i do go to the game, i'll be sure to give a horror report tomorrow and what i am expecting to be yet another loss.
supongo que solo los buenos mueren jóvenes

sometimes i feel like i get complacent with my writing. now, it could be the truth or it could just be me not willing to accept rejection. who knows. but, that wild hair got up my ass today and i started to hunt for some places i had never sent to before. i found a couple that i felt like i had a decent shot at getting into and one had a deadline of today. that meant i had to get my ass in gear. it's amazing how quick i can get shit done when the adrenaline kicks in. i sent out 11 poems today; 5 to Profane and 6 to The Hungry Chimera. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
the New York Yankees offense came alive yesterday. of course, that meant the pitching went to shit. the Yankees won the first game of the doubleheader yesterday 11-6. they lost the nightcap 10-7. at least the win came before the Derek Jeter ceremony. that was excellent as usual.
the two episodes of Guerrilla last night were great. the only thing i didn't like about the series is it was only 6 episodes.
Veep was fucking hilarious last night.
Silicon Valley was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was great as usual.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i might watch some of Game 7 between the Celtics and Wizards tonight. my NBA rules still apply though. i'll only watch the last 5 minutes of any NBA game because that is the only time the game is good.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i do a little shopping at Menards. we are getting low on birdseed and mom wants me to get some new solar lights.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i did my best to get the grass cut yesterday as fast as possible. so, like a dumb ass, i only took 1 water break and got it all done in just about 3 1/2 hours. not the smartest decision i've made and i'm paying for it today. but, it's out of the way.
i was a little surprised to learn that the New York Rangers fired their coach while i was out mowing the grass. surprised as in i thought it would happen much sooner, like the night they got eliminated. none of the names mentioned so far really excite me. i just want them to find the right guy who gives them a chance to win another championship sometime before i die. that's all i'm asking for.
i am completely fucking dumbfounded how the Yankees have made the Mets look like a good baseball team. more shitty pitching and not enough offense. and to give up 9 runs to a team that couldn't score 9 in a week if they tried is totally fucking embarrassing. final game of the series is tonight. i have no clue if i'm going to bother to watch or not.
i did catch a good bit of the team USA soccer friendly against Belgium. until the USA finds better defenders or actually learns how to play better defense, they are NEVER going to be able to compete at the highest level.
and i did watch most of game 7 between Detroit and Chicago. when the ref made a horrible call in the 3rd period to take away a possible winning goal from Chicago, i laughed. at that point i was hoping Detroit would win just to see if the ref would make it out of the city alive. Chicago won in overtime on a goal by a guy (Brent Seabrook) who has been on my fantasy team for years. i'm very happy for him. so the final four in the NHL are the last 4 teams to win the Stanley Cup (first time since 1945). i don't think there could be a bad final with any of the four teams. hopefully, the games are great and have plenty of overtimes.
i did watch that concert for Oklahoma last night. i thought it was pretty good. hopefully they raised plenty of money, seeing that the towns are under a tornado threat again today. crazy.
looks like we'll have a chance at a few inches of rain over the next couple of days. as long as it all doesn't come at once and kill the crops, i'm fine with it. should be a good chance to see how the changes to the drainage here on the farm are actually working. hopefully, they are working. i really don't want to see two years in a row of major crop loss.
if we do get all this rain, it should give me plenty of time to get some writing in. the summer months tend to be when i slack off from it. i'm hoping to change that this year.
that's all for today. i'm off to go find a cold bed and some cold washcloths to help deal with a bit of a sunburn. i guess 110 SPF is only so good. fuck me.
