it was yet another night where i didn't fall asleep until after 4 in the morning. it's almost like insomnia and depression are the same anymore. good times.
the New York Yankees pissed away yet another lead last night and lost to the White Sox, 9-6 in 7 innings. thank god the rain got so bad they called the game. that's 4 losses in a row. joy.
i am absolutely shocked that Columbus won both games down in Tampa in the NHL playoffs. holy shit. halfway to one of the biggest upsets i can think of in NHL history.
i did watch some of the other games as well.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was brilliant once again last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
my sports docket today is pretty full. between Manchester United, the New York Yankees, the NBA and NHL playoffs, the Masters and the national championship game of college hockey, it's going to be a pretty fucking full day.
i was in line at the pharmacy for around 30 minutes today. i could hear the older couple behind me talking about this is ridiculous and how they need to find a new pharmacy. there was this child, maybe 3 or 4 years old, running around, going nuts and all the while i was mumbling to myself, if i wasn't this patient, i would kill people. if i wasn't this patient, i would kill people. i fought off every urge to letting the shopping cart roll right into the kid. the funny thing was once i finally got up to the counter, i was there for almost 2 minutes. i got the rest of the shopping done, knowing damn well i hadn't eaten lunch before i went to the store. more on that later. i got everything we needed today and somehow managed to keep it under $80. i might just have a fucking drink tonight for that alone.
i sent out 20 poems today. my arthritis was and still is fucking killing me today, so i wasn't able to copy and paste the poems into emails like normal. i had to retype all 20 poems. joy. i sent 3 poems each to Rusty Truck and The Beatnik Cowboy; 4 poems to The Rye Whiskey Review (already accepted for publication); 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Academy Of The Heart And Mind. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
i did watch most of the NHL playoff games last night. i will hopefully catch some of the games tonight.
the Frozen Four was excellent last night. the championship game on Saturday will be Minnesota Duluth vs. UMass.
Better Things was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.
i didn't fall asleep last night until 4 in the morning. it felt like i had a fucking locomotive racing down my spine most of the evening. apparently, i fell asleep right before the storms came. when i got out of bed around 9, it felt like every bone in my body was broken. good times.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.
the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against the White Sox. the Yankees put their 12th guy on the injured list today. this team is killing me at the moment. they are already losing 1-0. joy.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. but in case i'm not, here's the preview:
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope the weather isn't as crazy as it is here.

i'm not going to get into the global warming rant i normally have on here, if you don't believe it exists you are simply fucking stupid. i can't wait to do the grocery shopping tomorrow, hopefully after the madness of what is coming in the morning is over with.
i did do a little poetry work this morning. i know where my next 20 poems are going. that should happen in the next few days.
here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month.
the New York Yankees got swept in Houston last night, losing 8-6. they are thankfully off tonight before they start a series tomorrow night at home against the White Sox. it was the first time the Astros ever swept the Yankees. joy.
i did watch a good portion of the NHL playoff games last night. will probably do the same tonight. if you ever watch any hockey, make sure it's the playoffs.
NXT was good last night, as was NXT UK.
Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

i honestly have no damn clue what the Sacramento Kings are doing. they had their best season in years this year and the reward is firing the Assistant GM and head coach.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i'm hoping to get the poems out in the morning. hopefully, the storms don't knock out the power or the internet. (knock on wood)
i'm going to check out some of the Frozen Four now. (college hockey final four)

on the right hand side of the blog, you may have noticed the picture i put up that is a direct link to Debbie Kirk's fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. this is to get her some money for her fight against breast cancer. i urge everyone to check it out, donate if you can, and pass it along to everyone you know. many thanks for all of you that do this. here is a link to the fundraiser: https://www.gofundme.com/5m0wfqg
after mom and i got the car back from the mechanic, we went out lunch. just as i was biting into my bacon cheeseburger at Red Robin, my left knee started throbbing. 2 minutes later, the televisions went out and i knew exactly what was coming. it started to really fucking pour. that exact moment, i should have gone to the bar and got a shot or something. thankfully, the rain didn't last long, but the fucking drizzle did. we had to go to the grocery store after that. mom had pills to pick up (9 prescriptions) and we were out of sweetener for the morning coffee. that was all done pretty quickly. thankfully, the drizzle had stopped on our way home. of course, it's supposed to rain more tonight.
the New York Yankees won last night, 6-5 in 10 innings over Houston. the Yankees had no business winning the game as they had 5 fucking errors in the game. but, i'll gladly take it. the Yankees can win the series as it concludes tonight.
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.
the season finale (and hopefully not the series finale) of The Chris Gethard Show was excellent last night.

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'm rooting for Las Vegas in this series. hopefully they will go up 2-0 tonight on Washington.

before i start my bitching about some woman talking to me until 3 in the morning about a fucking scam she was trying to hook me into, a little poetry news to get to.
i heard back from The Beatnik Cowboy on my recent poetry submission. they decided to pass on the 3 poems i sent. i never quite understand the rejection letters when they tell me about how good the poems are. apparently, they weren't quite good enough. oh well. i shouldn't have much of a problem finding a new home for those.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
the season finale of Life in Pieces was excellent last night.
the season finale of Gotham last night was fucking great. next season, which will be the final season of Gotham, should be amazing.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

the New York Yankees start a series at the Royals tonight. it will be nice to see the Yankees play again actually.
i will probably watch some of the NHL playoffs tonight as well.
we got over an inch of rain this morning. it was a fucking joy to go to the grocery store while that was happening. at least by the time i got out of the store it was basically just a persistent drizzle. of course, i took a wrong step walking into the store. so my right foot was killing me the entire time i was in the grocery store. and the fucking store keeps moving shit around. just a pain in the fucking ass.
but at least the toys were on sale today. mom laughed when she saw those with the groceries. i'm not one that will turn down a buy 1 get 1 free sale on the good shit.
so this woman in Nigeria last night was telling me her university needs me to open an account here in the USA so they can send me money so i can turn around and send that money to the woman in Nigeria. now, i do know, or at least i think i know, this woman is a student at said university in England. she's on some work study in Nigeria, supposedly. so, i played along and asked her to send me some paperwork that the school surely would have sent her so i can make sure this is official and everything. i told her if i didn't have that paperwork by tonight, i know this is a fucking scam. which i will then around and report her and block her so i won't be entertaining myself at 3 in the morning again with this bullshit. and this is all due to me wanting my Google Hangouts to be public so if someone actually reads something of mine and wants to contact me about it, they can do so and i will gladly get in touch with them.
i need to go ice my back down.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i guess there's some fucking big deal wedding tomorrow or something. the more important thing... i'll be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Chelsea in the FA Cup Final. hopefully, i will be in a good mood.

i was hoping to feel much better this morning. sadly, i still have a bit of a cough that is draining the life out of me. so much for doing my laundry and getting the poems out before noon today. if i have them done by the time Saturday Night Live comes on tonight, i'll be mildly surprised. if that does happen, you might actually get two blogs out of me today.
the New York Yankees pitching fucking sucked last night. they lost to Oakland 10-5. hopefully they will do better this afternoon.
here are your highlights from Game 1 between Washington and Tampa Bay last night:
NJPW was excellent last night.
Major League Wrestling was pretty good last night.
VICE was really good last night.

when i woke up this morning, i could feel it in my bones. i just knew it was raining. and this rain is supposed to continue more or less for the whole fucking weekend. and i'm not drinking. oh fucking joy.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees won last night 8-6. the bullpen still isn't good enough as of right now. that must get better soon, or the team is going to really have to tinker with it all season. the game today has already been rained out. they are going to try to play a doubleheader tomorrow. i highly doubt that happens given the weather.
VICE was really good last night. it also reminded me why i am not a fan of technology.
NJPW was awesome last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was fucking great last night. i highly recommend this series to everyone. and you don't need HBO to see it. i believe they are putting each episode on YouTube.
i did watch some playoff hockey last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH and Elvis Presley: The Searcher.
i'm sure i will probably watch some hockey and soccer along the way today.
i did watch a little bit of Ohio State's spring game today. it's going to be weird to watch someone other than J.T. Barrett be the quarterback of that team.
i'm about halfway done with my laundry.
my sister left this morning after the first storm moved through.
the new coffeemaker worked fine this morning. crisis averted.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

the weather here is truly on my fucking nerves. today was really nice, if you don't mind the wind being around 30 mph all the fucking time. and as i found out as a child, the wind always brings something with it. apparently we're going to be warm until Sunday, and then winter will try to come back in. i could feel that shit today with my arthritis. what a fucking joy.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the meeting with the dietitian wasn't that bad today. she did a pretty good job explaining to mom what she needs to do to get her cholesterol down, while keeping an eye on the budget. and now that Kroger has entered the 21st century with this shit, i guess the next appointment will be a shopping trip. that should give mom a more hands on experience and hopefully help her remember some things so she can make better decisions regarding food.
the New York Yankees won last night at Boston 10-7. i watched a good portion of the game, including both bench clearing incidents. did i think it was a dirty slide? not really, but i could understand why Boston was upset. of course, if the shortstop wasn't lazy, his leg wouldn't be there for the spikes to hit it. i did enjoy the fight, though i don't understand why 3 Yankees got ejected and only 1 Red Sox did. tonight's game should be interesting.
NXT was really good last night. i guess the name War Raiders will grow on me, although i will always think of Hanson and Rowe as War Machine.
i'm not really sure who i'm going to root for in this year's NHL playoffs. i suppose it would be easy to root for all the former New York Rangers. but, part of me really hopes Las Vegas does great in the playoffs. them or Winnipeg, since two of my favorite wrestlers are from there (Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega). i did watch a little bit of the games last night. i might watch some tonight as well.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Gotham and Atlanta.
it feels like anymore i'm usually falling asleep right about the time the fucking sun is coming up. not that i would know that as i have fallen into my little depression hole of staying in my room for most hours of the day anymore. but, the words keep on finding me, so i'm not about to panic or some shit like that.
i wrote 13 poems yesterday while mom was at her physical therapy appointment. those are my first poems of April. i typed them up last night and really like most of them. i might do another round of submissions in another week or so.
here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:
the New York Yankees lost to Boston last night 14-1. thank fucking god i didn't watch that game. they play again tonight.
Smackdown was really good last night. i love that Paige is the new GM. if they are planning on doing a program between AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Daniel Bryan, please just take my money now. and i am so damn happy that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were finally called up from NXT.
205 Live was excellent last night.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night. this looks like it is going to be another crazy season.
The Voice was basically just a recap show of the season so far last night. the live shows start next week.
The Jim Jefferies Show last night was excellent.
The Chris Gethard Show last night was fucking crazy.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
if the Yankees are getting their asses whipped again tonight, i will probably be either watching the start of the NHL playoffs or maybe some other shit on television.
or i might get a wild hair up my ass and do some writing.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to an appointment she made with a dietitian. it's supposed to be a hour long appointment. mom's back has been killing her lately, so i know there's no fucking chance she can sit there for 60 minutes and not be in dire fucking pain. so, tomorrow should be interesting.
i did see CR7 save Real Madrid today in the Champions League. what a crazy fucking game.

mom finally got released from the hospital today. she was very happy to break free as she put it. she wanted to get some food as soon as she left, so i took her through the Burger King drive-thru (her choice). once she got back home, it took her a little time to figure out the best place to sit, etc. she's now back in her room and my sister is here for the weekend. the home health nurse will be here tomorrow at some point. i figure if we can make it through the weekend without killing each other, we'll be off to a good start.
i did write 7 poems last night. that finished off a notebook i started in November of last year. 7 months ain't bad, at least for me. i typed the poems up before i went to get mom from the hospital. i think all of them are pretty good.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Lip Sync Battle was pretty fucking good last night.
enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight.
the New York Yankees start a series with the Oakland A's tonight. i hope they get a victory as i certainly need a drink.
i did watch a little of the basketball game last night. if Cleveland wins the finals again this year, i'll go ahead and anoint LeBron as the best basketball player EVER.
i ended up watching most of the hockey game last night. you can't ask for more than a Game 7 that goes into 2OT. the Stanley Cup Final will be Nashville vs. Pittsburgh. i couldn't care less who wins.
i have no idea when i'll be on here tomorrow or at all this weekend. i get the feeling that my sister and i are going to be running around like chickens with our heads cut off while waiting for mom to make up her mind on what she wants and needs.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend festivities wherever, be safe and be sure you have bail money.

first off, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
i believe mom liked everything she got today. plus, she wanted Chinese food for some damn reason. my sister went and got that for her.
from what i got to see last night, Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny. sadly, my local NBC station doesn't know what the fuck it is doing on Saturday night. they will just run local commercials sometimes rather than the show. as a guy who loves comedy, that's a good way to piss me off.
ROH was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Silicon Valley, Veep, Last Week Tonight and two episodes of Guerrilla.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. i'll post the links below in the music section and i HIGHLY urge you to check it out.
the New York Yankees are playing a doubleheader today against Houston, weather permitting. the second game tonight is when they will be retiring Derek Jeter's number 2.
Kevin Hayes and Brady Skjei, from the New York Rangers, got added to team USA over at the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championship in Europe. so, i guess i will be paying attention to that now.
i did see Ottawa beat Pittsburgh in OT last night. i just happened to flip over and 20 seconds later Bobby Ryan scored in OT.
i wasn't looking forward to the Manchester United game today against Tottenham. it was the last game to be played at White Hart Lane, so i figured the Spurs would be gunning for a victory. United has nothing to play for but pride really, as they have no chance to finish in the top 4 now. they have to win the Europa League or this season will be a complete fucking failure. United lost 2-1 today. they showed no desire to play until the last 25 minutes or so. i guess if i want to be an asshole, Wayne Rooney did score the last ever goal at White Hart Lane. so there's that...
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
first off, a little poetry news to get out of the way. i heard back from Live Nude Poems on my poetry submission from last month. they decided to pass on the poems i sent. oh well.
the New York Yankees lost again last night, 5-1. the offense has gone missing the last few days. the game today already got postponed due to rain. they will play a doubleheader tomorrow, with the second game being the game they will retire Derek Jeter's number 2.
VICE was fascinating last night. i remember an old Ron & Fez bit on when the robots learn to think, we as humans are done with. i guess we are at that point now.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great as usual last night.

since the Yankees aren't playing today, i guess i'll do my laundry and maybe do a little shopping.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night and this morning. links will be below in the music section.
i only watched a little bit of Nashville vs. Anaheim last night. i doubt i will watch much of Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa tonight. the Rangers loss still stings a bit.
i guess my sister will be down here tonight. well, she'll be getting here tonight. she'll be in town hours before then.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.
i'm going to try to be on here sometime after Manchester United plays a meaningless game tomorrow against Tottenham.

this is the one part of living in the sticks that would always make me laugh. a day like today is when you would hear some dumb fuck in town talk about well, if this global warming, i'll take it all the time. sure, 80 degrees and sweating in April is just a fucking joy. maybe when these dumb fucks have their vacation destinations in Florida under water one day, they will finally understand that 20 degrees warmer than normal is not always a good thing.
Smackdown was excellent last night. it was a complete 180 from Monday Night Raw. it's amazing to think that both shows are even the same company sometimes.
205 Live was good last night. i could watch Neville and Jack Gallagher wrestle forever and never get bored.
The Voice went mostly as i expected last night. the two up for elimination were two of the ones that i thought would be.
Great News was so bad last night that it almost made for good television. sadly, everything that was funny about the show was in the commercials for the show. not a good sign.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night. as soon as Nick said his white blood cell count was that high, i knew he was talking about cancer. i know most reality shows are fake to some degree, but i do appreciate just how "real" this show has always been.
enjoy some music:
