no rest for the wicked...

the Yankees won yesterday over Cleveland, 5-1. they will play Game 1 of the ALCS tonight in Houston. i'm hoping for the best for the boys, but considering how they played against Houston this season, i don't have my hopes up.

NXT was very good last night.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

The Voice was excellent last night.

Tales From The Territories last night was about the AWA.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer and two episodes of American Horror Story: NYC.

i had to take mom to get her glasses today. that was a comedy of errors. first, they tried to give mom the wrong glasses. and then, it took the lady a few minutes to realize that she had talked to my mother on the phone for the last few weeks. mom is afraid they are just her old lenses as she can't really tell any difference. i hoping that changes in the next few days.

then, after i took her home, i went grocery shopping. after three stores, i got everything on the list. it took forever, but i figured it would. at least i got home to see the last 5 minutes of the Manchester United game.

Manchester United defeated Tottenham today, 2-0. from everything i saw on the highlights, it looked like their best game of the year so far. hopefully, that is a sign of things to come. Fred and Bruno scored the goals today.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i will probably watch some of the New York Knicks tonight.

i have a friend coming into the state tomorrow that i am hoping to meet up with at some point, so i am going to try to get the blog done in the morning. it will definitely be done before i have to take mom to physical therapy tomorrow.

until tomorrow kids...

the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then...

and today was the day i realized i was the dog in this scenario.

i went to the bank and made a deposit. sadly, it was only one thing to deposit and not two. after that, i decided to go to the Big Lots near the bank and see if they had any baseball cards. now, i wasn't expecting much but as soon as i walked in the store, i noticed it looked completely different than the last time i was in there. and the only reason i went in there was one of the guys i follow on YouTube got some baseball cards at a Big Lots in Pennsylvania. so, i walked around a little while and HOLY SHIT!!!! i found more baseball cards than i had seen in the last 4 months. i got some 2018 Topps Series 2, some 2019 Topps Series 1, some 2020 Topps Heritage and then 3 football packs of 2020 Score, 2020 Donruss and 2020 Prestige. i ended up spending $62 for everything. with the cards i found in the packs (including Joe Burrow's rookie card!!!!!!) i believe they are worth something around $200 or so. i'm pretty fucking pleased with this.

after that, i went to Burger King to get mom her frozen Coke that she loves. i handed the guy $2 and he didn't have the change to give me back, so he just handed me $1 back. once again, the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then...

i did write 3 poems this morning. i typed those up and really like them.

i didn't have lunch until 5 this evening. mom said that's nuts. i told her, i'm juggling 3 fucking jobs (her caretaker, poet/blogger, baseball card dealer). she paused and realized i was right. joy.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. Memphis got evicted. Enzo is the new HOH.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping for the morning, but who knows.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

at least it stopped raining long enough to...

thankfully, the rain that was supposed to come overnight never did. it was much colder today, but at least i was able to get everything i needed to do done. the grocery store got a little pricey today as i had to get mom some Zyrtec. that put me well over $100. i did finally get to go to the bank and deposit the two checks i had. i also filled up the Highlander today. always good when you can get gas for .87 cents a gallon.

The Voice was good last night. i wasn't shocked that Todd won. he certainly was though.

the season finale of Dark Side of the Ring last night was excellent. i cried for most of it as Owen Hart was one my favorites.

WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

The Masked Singer last night was the best of performances from this season. the season finale is tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, the season finale of The Masked Singer and What We Do in the Shadows.

the rain is supposed to be back in the area after midnight. so, that basically means i won't sleep for shit tonight.

i do plan on doing my laundry tomorrow. so, i'll probably be on here after that.

mom had me order Pizza Hut last night. i find it funny that she got all that damn meat from Omaha Steaks and now she can't decide what she wants. you know, funny in the why the fuck did you waste that money kind of way.

i didn't get my new hummingbird feeder yet. i figure with all this damn rain, not reason to rush to get one just yet.

until tomorrow kids...

stay healthy.

sadly, it's not that hard to be by myself and just drift away...

i think i'm pretty much over my sinus bullshit from earlier in the week. of course, i'm now back to horrible sleep and hanging out in my room for most of the day. mom likes to watch all the news conferences, etc.... that's not my cup of tea.

i was pleasantly shocked to see new music this morning from Childish Gambino. that gave me something to sink my teeth into today.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Batwoman, Westworld, the season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, My Cartoon President, Homeland and Black Monday.

i was going to go to Kroger today to take that stuff back that mom needs me to return, but my arthritis decided that can be done tomorrow.

i did watch a little of that Nascar race today that was done on the simulators. that should tell you how much there is a void in my life with sports.

that's all for me kids. hope your Sunday is going good.

stay healthy...

waking up with an elephant on my back...

it was supposed to be raining by now. instead, my back only thinks it is raining. nothing quite like waking up and your lower back feels like it is stuck in cement. joy.

i am still planning on going to the basketball game today. hopefully, that will happen.

NJPW was really good last night.

WOW was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

2 Dope Queens was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the New York Rangers play today at home against New Jersey. i believe the Rangers have scratched the players they are planning on trading by Monday. that's probably for the best as they do need to continue the rebuild.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Saint Louis. i'd love to see Dayton win and get a little revenge for Saint Louis destroying them a few weeks ago. Obi Toppin is one dunk away from equaling the season record for Dayton.

the New York Yankees play their first spring training game today against Boston. hard to believe it's time for baseball again.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays.

i know right after that the Rangers will be playing in Washington against the Capitals, so the blog will be a mid-afternoon one most likely.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

one of those mornings where death would have been a better option...

i tell everyone i possibly can, never have a bad back. i couldn't get my back loose until this afternoon. mind you, i have been up since about 4 this morning. i'm not even sure if i did sleep. i think it was more just tossing and turning. i think i may know why...

the muse and i had a really intense conversation last night about racism. part of what i feared about being stuck in a small town that has no fucking clue what diversity is, that mentality would start to slip into my mindset. and, apparently it has. using the word stupid when ignorant or hateful would have been a better choice set off an ass ripping that i sorely needed. so, maybe my tossing and turning was more or less me coming to grips with myself. i can only hope to be better after this.
https://www.afsc.org/blogs/acting-in-faith/white-people-arent-stupid-note-to-my-white-self

the New York Rangers won in a shootout last night over Colorado, 3-2. the Rangers play tonight in Washington. i will be shocked if they actually win two in a row.

the USA Men's National Team played Peru to a 1-1 draw last night. Peru scored late to get the draw. considering who the USA is missing, i'm pretty happy with the result.

it was the 1,000th episode of Smackdown last night. i thought the show was pretty good, but you could tell it was rushed for time at the end.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, Total Divas, Mr. Mercedes and American Horror Story. i'll watch 205 Live, NXT and the Mae Young Classic sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch NXT UK this afternoon on WWE Network. it was really good.

mom had a guy come out this morning to give her an estimate on the blinds for the new windows. i think the ones she's getting are going to look really good. if all goes well, they will be installed before Thanksgiving. the guy who is coming to give us an estimate on new doors just rang the doorbell.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank.

there's fucking snow in the forecast. they aren't talking any accumulations, but fuck me.

mom's doing well after her eye surgery. i'm hoping the left eye goes just as well next week.

that's all for me kids. i now have to go out and see how much mom is going to spend on doors.

well, it certainly feels like fall...

we were supposed to have all these storms last night, rain, etc. as i have joked for years, the state line of apathy that is the border between Indiana and Ohio, tends to sap the energy of most large storms. but, it was pleasant to feel a cool breeze when i went out to get the paper this morning. and, we're actually able to turn the air conditioner off and open up the new windows.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i believe i know where the next 13 poems are going. that will probably happen at some point this weekend.

i had a fascinating conversation with the muse last night. of course, i wasn't expecting to be called a loser during it, but i suppose that's the price for this life.

the New York Yankees tried to give away lead after lead last night against Baltimore. thankfully, they weren't quite able to do that. the Yankees won 10-8. that brings their magic number to get in the playoffs down to 2. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.

VICE was really good last night.

NJPW was very good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the Manchester United game this morning isn't on television, so i guess i will follow the game online.

i believe the window for the installer from Best Buy to be here starts soon. i figure they won't be here until around noon.

i'm hoping Ohio State will win easily today against Tulane. i know they are a big favorite in the game.

the New York Rangers play the New York Islanders tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play.

i hope everyone has a good Saturday.

and here comes the rainy weekend...

when i woke up this morning, i could feel it in my bones. i just knew it was raining. and this rain is supposed to continue more or less for the whole fucking weekend. and i'm not drinking. oh fucking joy.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees won last night 8-6. the bullpen still isn't good enough as of right now. that must get better soon, or the team is going to really have to tinker with it all season. the game today has already been rained out. they are going to try to play a doubleheader tomorrow. i highly doubt that happens given the weather.

VICE was really good last night. it also reminded me why i am not a fan of technology.

NJPW was awesome last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was fucking great last night. i highly recommend this series to everyone. and you don't need HBO to see it. i believe they are putting each episode on YouTube.

i did watch some playoff hockey last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH and Elvis Presley: The Searcher.

i'm sure i will probably watch some hockey and soccer along the way today.

i did watch a little bit of Ohio State's spring game today. it's going to be weird to watch someone other than J.T. Barrett be the quarterback of that team.

i'm about halfway done with my laundry.

my sister left this morning after the first storm moved through.

the new coffeemaker worked fine this morning. crisis averted.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

today begins the march...

after so many seasons of mediocrity, i'm so happy the New Orleans Saints actually have a team this season that has a chance to be remembered forever. that march starts today at home against Carolina. the Saints will have to do a difficult thing today, beat the same team 3 times in a season. but, i fully believe they can do it. if the Saints do win today, they will play in Minnesota in the next round.

after watching the Dayton Flyers yesterday, i was so damn happy i didn't go to the game. what pisses me off about their 62-60 loss to UMass, a team that was playing without 2 of their starters, was the coach of UMass is the coach i wanted Dayton to hire to replace Archie Miller. hopefully everyone that sits around me understands now why i wanted him to be the coach. and the more i listen to Anthony Grant talk after games, the more i'm starting to believe my conspiracy. the administration simply needs the team to be good by the time the UD Arena transformation is done. they will gladly accept mediocrity as they continue to sell what's coming in the future. as much as i really hope that rosy future arrives like they want, what fucking happens when it doesn't? it's so fucking painful to watch this team play when there is an obvious disconnect between coach and players. it's like watching a NBA team that is stuck in the middle. not bad enough to get a great draft pick and not good enough to do anything in the playoffs. i do know one thing, if this shit continues, i know a certain family member that isn't going to keep paying for tickets.

Austin City Limits was great last night.

the New York Rangers won last night out in Arizona, 2-1 in a shootout. thank god for The King. he stopped 38 of 39 shots against the worst team in the NHL. basically, at one point, you could see Hank tell his teammates to get the fuck out of the way, he's doing it by himself. the Rangers play tonight at Las Vegas.

ROH was excellent last night.

NJPW was 4 matches from Wrestle Kingdom 12 last night. i truly enjoyed the matches, especially Omega vs. Jericho and Okada vs. Naito.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i'm pretty sure i know where my next 35 poems are going.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless and The Chi. i'll be watching The Golden Globes for most of the evening.
