 it was somewhere around 20 degrees when i went out to get the paper and feed the birds this morning. i figured i better get some food out there before it snows. 

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night. i can't wait for the Royal Rumble this weekend.

Manchester United plays Arsenal today. given that United lost their last game, this pretty much becomes a MUST WIN game if they want to truly have a shot at the Premier League title this season.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Rhode Island. hopefully, they will keep up the momentum from their victory at Saint Louis.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. hopefully, they can win a second game in a row tonight.

hopefully, i'll have 3 victory drinks tonight.

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. if we do get all the snow they are predicting, i'll be on here sometime after i get the chili on.

what a day...

so, where the fuck to begin... my doctor's visit was a little crazy today. i guess my A1C hasn't changed, which pisses me off. the doctor acted like it was no big deal since everyone is stuck inside with this pandemic, and then as i was leaving... i got handed an order to go get my blood drawn. and since they have a facility on site in their new building, i had to go get it done right then and there. so, my 2:30 appointment went to about 3. the blood work went from about 3:15 to 3:30. i still had to do the grocery shopping after that and i hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast. fucking joy.

i went to the local grocery store before the doctor's appointment. that went pretty well. the larger grocery store after the appointment was a bit of a clusterfuck. mind you, my back has been feeling like shit all damn day. so, by the time i was getting home (5:30 PM), i was pissed at the world.

i also hit up the Dollar Tree close to the doctor's office to see if they sell any baseball cards, like they used to. of course not. i did find some Batman stuff i had never seen before. so, the trip wasn't fruitless.

my doctor also has this new policy where he wants to see his own patients once a year and the rest of the time he wants the patients to go to the 4 nurse practitioners he has in the office. when i told mom that when i got home, she wasn't thrilled.

and then she sprung on me the news that she has a foot doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. so, i guess i know what i am doing.

Deadliest Catch was good last night. next week's episode looks like it is going to be fucking crazy.

i went to the bank this morning to make a deposit. after that. i brought back some breakfast for my mother. it was a big enough breakfast that she slept a good portion of the afternoon away. i'm pretty sure she liked what my sister and i got her for her birthday. her sight is such now that she needs large print books to read. and she loves doing puzzles and word searches, so i got her some large print books for that. enough to keep her brain busy for a while i suppose. not sure what she wants for dinner tonight. i'm sure she'll surprise me with something.

i think the plan for tomorrow is to hit up the local grocery store in the morning to get the stuff i usually get from there. hopefully, i won't have much more than my pills and a couple other things to get at the bigger grocery store after the appointment.

i got some shitty sleep last night, but i did manage to at least get the grocery shopping started before noon today. i had to go to the drugstore to look for some things first. of course, they didn't have a couple of the things i was looking for. i did pick up a pack of 2020 Topps Series 1 there and got a couple of hits in it. i was pleased with that. the local grocery store was pretty fucking busy for noon on a Wednesday. the larger grocery store was more of a damn zoo with the elderly leading the pissed off parade. i got most of everything on the list except for some alcohol swabs. i'm hoping that's not the next fucking thing these stupid fucks are hoarding.

if i was 20 years younger...

i have little doubt i would be one of the protestors and be quite tempted to start breaking shit or torment the police. growing up with many black friends, i got to see first hand the way the police treat and think about blacks. it disgusted me then and still disgusts me to this day. i saw a post today on MeWe that i loved.

i was in high school when the riots were going on in Los Angeles. one of the more fascinating experiences in my life. the only white kid in a class of 25 or so. i learned pretty damn quickly how to be an ally. if my health was better and i didn't have a disabled mother to take care of, i'd be out there today.

mom wanted some Chinese food for lunch today. thankfully, the only Chinese restaurant we have in town is open again. i went to pick that up. i was pretty pleased with all the safety measures they have taken in the restaurant. the food was excellent as always.

it's way fucking hotter today. i think it is currently 87 degrees outside. i can't fucking wait to go next door to do the trash. fuck me.

i can tell the rain is on the way...

i was able to get all the grocery shopping done before the afternoon rain started today. we got a little rain this morning. just enough to make shit steamy this morning before noon.

it got up to 87 degrees today. imagine the fun i had sitting in a doctor's office as the heat was on. between that and the mask fogging up my glasses, i would have rather just had the fucking gun put in my mouth and see what my luck could be now...

mom's doctor's appointment went pretty good. she didn't like her numbers, but the nurse practitioner didn't seem that worried about them. after that was over, we went to Arby's to get some lunch to take back to the house. mom didn't feel like trying any of the dining areas that were open inside. given the number of stupid people around here, i don't blame her.

i drove a different way home, hoping to avoid some construction. i forgot though, it's Ohio. everything is under construction all the fucking time. but, i did take mom past some parts of the area that still had some of the damage from the tornado last Memorial Day that she didn't get to see. as i told her, i doubt much of it ever gets fixed.

thankfully, the rain that was supposed to come overnight never did. it was much colder today, but at least i was able to get everything i needed to do done. the grocery store got a little pricey today as i had to get mom some Zyrtec. that put me well over $100. i did finally get to go to the bank and deposit the two checks i had. i also filled up the Highlander today. always good when you can get gas for .87 cents a gallon.

testing my patience...

i like to be alone when i shop, especially given the times we are living in. and while i am a pretty patient person, i have my limits. at the grocery store today, this elderly woman was in her own fucking world. no mask on, searching for some kind of bacon. she moved away and i went in to get some breakfast sausage that i had been waiting 3 minutes to get. before i could even open the door to get the sausage, she got back in front of me to look yet again. i should have started coughing at that point. the store was out of a few things. i'm sure it was because the elderly had ransacked the damn place this morning. all in all, between the 3 stores i went to, i got most of what was on the list. i know i have pills to pick up later this week, so i'm going to try to find the other stuff then. i kept everything under $150, which i was pretty happy about.

the rain has held off for today so far, so i was able to get the grocery shopping done. since i am in charge of cooking dinner now, i got a few extra things as i like to be able to cook things i actually want to eat. what a fucking concept that is.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Voice was just a look back on the season so far. the live shows start next week.

Songland was very good last night. i liked the song H.E.R. chose, but i think the song from the guy would have been better for her.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Axios was really good last night.

the grocery store was a little busy today, but nothing outrageous. i was able to find most of the shit on the list. i got a few extras that i want to add to what i'm making this week. speaking of that, i need to get going and make dinner.

and i also need to pick up the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.
