imagine that, a weather forecast that was wrong...

the rain has held off for today so far, so i was able to get the grocery shopping done. since i am in charge of cooking dinner now, i got a few extra things as i like to be able to cook things i actually want to eat. what a fucking concept that is.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Voice was just a look back on the season so far. the live shows start next week.

Songland was very good last night. i liked the song H.E.R. chose, but i think the song from the guy would have been better for her.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Axios was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Backstage, Dark Side of the Ring and Deadliest Catch.

the grocery store was a little busy today, but nothing outrageous. i was able to find most of the shit on the list. i got a few extras that i want to add to what i'm making this week. speaking of that, i need to get going and make dinner.

and i also need to pick up the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

i hope everyone is doing good. stay healthy.

wash your fucking hands.

until tomorrow...

2 hours of my life i will never get back...

as i explained to my mother after she apologized again about the shit show at the DMV... it's been 43 years of doing shit i didn't want to do. i'm used to it by now. i got up a little after 9 and got ready to go this morning. just as i thought would happen, mom changed her mind and wanted to see if she could get her driver's license renewed. i dropped her off so she could get a number and then i found a place to park. this used to be easy, but that was when the Trotwood office was open. and lord knows, the state doesn't want anything in a black community, so they closed that office down about a year ago. we were sitting there for a good 90 minutes before the number got called. and of course, mom was nervous, for some fucking reason. and now in Ohio, because we have to have these secure identities, etc. she had to provide a birth certificate, her first marriage license, the divorce papers, the second marriage license and two items to prove she lives where she lives. good fuckin' lord. it was after noon by the time she took her picture and got the paper that acts as her license before the new one comes in the mail. as i told mom, this is the state's way of nickel and diming every fucker in this state to death. it was after 12:30 by the time we got breakfast at Waffle House. joy.

i'll be writing some poems after today, that's for sure. saw a guy in a wheelchair get his license renewed. saw this beautiful young black woman and the old white woman that refused to sit next to her. and the lady behind me that told the story about her son losing his house in the tornado 3 different times.

the New York Yankees were rained out last night, so they are playing a doubleheader today against the Mets. the Yankees are winning the first game so far, 9-4. the second game is tonight.

here are your highlights from Game 5 of the NBA Finals. amazingly, there will be a Game 6.

Monday Night Raw was almost good last night, almost. i did like the use of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. and Bray Wyatt was great once again. as for the rest of the show, at least i had a basketball game i could flip to.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Ice on Fire, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch and Songland. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i have the USA vs. Thailand game on in the other room. i'm hoping the women do great in the Women's World Cup. the USA are up 2-0 so far.

i'll probably do the trash and all the other shit i have to do after that match is over.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i just know i'm hoping tomorrow i'll actually have breakfast in me well before noon.

until tomorrow kids...

where does the time go...

i just watched the first half of the Wayne Rooney testimonial going on today between Manchester United and Everton. it's hard to believe that Wayne has been at United for 12 seasons now. i can remember the hat trick when he showed up. it almost seems like yesterday. of course, a couple seasons of not winning much will have any fan waxing poetic about the past. i think they finally have the right manager and this season will be completely different. hopefully starting Sunday in the Community Shield.

i sent out 10 poems today; 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 6 to Rose Red Review. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was amazing last night. to see just how bad Sig's heart attack was, you really realize just how lucky he is to be alive. plus, the talk between Wild Bill and his son hit really close to home. i think Bill said the words i always wanted to hear from my father; i'm sorry. i never did get to hear that. and now, i never will. hard to believe this was the 12th season of the show. i really think it's one of the best reality shows EVER.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i believe everyone could see Brock Lesnar showing up and getting back at Randy Orton. it was so good to see American Alpha finally debut. they are one of the best tag teams in the world. push them to the moon. and i really enjoyed seeing a more intense Dolph Ziggler. and the flow of the show was much better than Raw. it certainly helps that Smackdown is only 2 hours long.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Tyrant and Any Given Wednesday. i'll be watching NXT and CWC on WWE Network sometime tonight.

the New York Yankees lost last night 7-1. they called up prospect Gary Sanchez for tonight's game. i was hoping they were going to release A-Rod to make room for him. instead they sent Ben Gamel back down to AAA. why the fuck is A-Rod still on the team if he isn't going to play. other than the Yankees just don't want to give him the money and release him, i can't think of any other fucking reason. just bite the damn bullet, release A-Rod and Tex and move the fuck on.

i think i might watch some of the women's soccer tonight going on at the Olympics in Rio. looking at some of the pictures from where the athletes are staying, i certainly understand why both USA basketball teams are staying on the cruise ship. talk about a clusterfuck.

that's all for me today kids. it's another draining day in August. the dog days are upon us.
