it's just blood

i suppose if i was thinking, i wouldn't have started moving shit in the garage while wearing shorts. i cut myself while moving a filing cabinet. just a little cut on my leg. thankfully, the cold helped it clot pretty quickly. but, i got everything done in the garage, so the insulation should go smoothly on Friday.

the New York Rangers got obliterated last night by Pittsburgh 7-2. as soon as i saw the coach was starting the backup goalie again, i didn't watch past the first Penguins goal. i think the injuries have finally caught up to the Rangers when playing good teams. the boys take on Minnesota on Friday.

to cement a shitty night, i heard back from Rose Red Review on my poetry submission from October. apparently the poems were good but just didn't fit the direction of the issue. it's sort of like getting your pants down, teasing yourself and then deciding to go to sleep instead.

the season finale of Scream Queens was excellent.

the Tony Bennett special last night was much better than i thought it was going to be.

205 Live was excellent last night. Neville makes the show must watch.

Smackdown was off the charts great last night. i loved Renee Young slapping The Miz. making the world title match a triple threat next week is great, especially with Baron Corbin involved. add in some Becky Lynch trickery and all in all, it was a great show.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Total Divas and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network when i get home from the basketball game.

the Dayton Flyers take on Vanderbilt tonight at home. this a MUST win game for Dayton if they want to be playing in the NCAA tournament in March.

i'm going to the game with my sister which should be interesting. she's been with me at enough sporting events to know i'm a little bit crazy when it comes to this shit.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton and Sam Roberts podcast today. i highly suggest you check it out. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-006-tj-miller-nick-kroll-john-mulaney

i'm not exactly sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. expect something in the afternoon probably.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

another weekend, another...

i think i fell asleep last night watching the severe weather channel on DirecTV. they usually will just show the local broadcasts from where the storms are. it's somewhat fascinating to see that all local media does the same shit; fear mongering, dire predictions, scare them to death. and you would think in a state like Florida, it wouldn't take much. i am happy that the storm hasn't done nearly the amount of damage they were thinking it would do. hopefully it stays that way.

i watched a good portion of the New York Rangers final preseason game last night. for the first two periods, they were good. sloppy but good. in the third period, the Rangers were god fucking awful. turned a 2-1 lead into a 4-2 loss to Philadelphia. i have no clue who is going to make this team now. considering how AV likes to do it, i figure i'll be pissed at something. their first game is on Oct. 13th.

i did watch a little of the football game last night. i finally got a fantasy defense to do something good for me. and i picked the game right as well. hopefully those are good signs of things to come.

Better Things was really fucking funny last night.

Fuck, That's Delicious was great last night. Copenhagen certainly looks like a town i would enjoy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and High Maintenance.

i sent out 13 poems this morning; 2 to Tuck Magazine, 5 to Live Nude Poems and 6 to Rose Red Review. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

team USA plays Cuba down in Havana this afternoon in a soccer friendly. hopefully, the USA wins but what i'm hoping the most for is no injuries. that field looks like a fucking landfill.

i figure i have to go to the grocery store today. and just to fuck with myself, i'm going on a Friday afternoon where it should be busy as hell. good times.

i will probably be on here tomorrow morning since Ohio State plays in the afternoon. more on that big game tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope everyone in the path of the hurricane stays safe.

burning the candle at both ends...

this morning i woke up to a knock on my bedroom door and my mother asking if she was going to have to drive herself to the doctor? i looked at the clock and oh shit, it's 9 AM. that means i almost got 5 hours of sleep. i got up and ready and drove her to her doctor's appointment. i believe my age is finally catching up to me. not the age 40 mind you, but my real age. between the drugs, drinking, apathy, abuse and god knows what else, i figure my real age is somewhere around 60 or so. good times.

the New York Yankees finally won a game last night. they got some great pitching and of course, another home run from Gary Sanchez. the 5-3 win last night was very much needed. hopefully they get another one tonight.

when team USA scored first last night against Canada, i was fucking pumped. that might have lasted for about 2 minutes or so. Canada of course won the game 4-2. i didn't bother to watch the third period at all. i believe this little caption summed up everything:
it's absolutely time for USA Hockey to grow the fuck up and realize the rest of the world has passed them by. you're not going to win tournaments with muckers and grinders.

The Voice was really, really good last night. a handful of the blind auditions blew me the fuck away.

Scream Queens was excellent last night. looks like another great season.

Smackdown was great once again last night, mostly for the fact that John Cena lost clean to Dean Ambrose for his first clean non ppv loss in 7 fucking years. the writers on that show absolutely deserve a fucking raise.

Atlanta was excellent once again. i really hope people are checking out this show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Big Brother, Lucha Underground, Any Given Wednesday, American Horror Story and You're The Worst. i will watch NXT on WWE Network at some point tonight.

i heard back from Larissa at Rose Red Review on my poetry submission. while she enjoyed my work, she decided to pass on them for now. she wants me to send her more in October.

i had to run to the store today to get the next round of pills my mom is on. her doctor wrote her off work for another month today. the MRI is coming on Monday morning. i have to take her to the place at 6:30 in the fucking morning. i guess i will either be going to bed early on Sunday night or just staying the fuck up.

i got back from the store in time to watch Manchester United play in the league cup today. thankfully, even though they were a bit too fucking sloppy for my tastes, they beat Northampton 3-1. goals from Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford. they will next play Manchester Shitty in the league cup, at home at least. the next premier league game is on Saturday morning against Leicester City. i will certainly enjoy the victory beer tonight.

now i have to go think of what to put on the grocery list as i know damn well i'll be back there, probably on Friday.

that's all for me kids. go enjoy what's left of the last day of summer. not that it won't feel like fucking summer for another 3 weeks or so.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

where does the time go...

i just watched the first half of the Wayne Rooney testimonial going on today between Manchester United and Everton. it's hard to believe that Wayne has been at United for 12 seasons now. i can remember the hat trick when he showed up. it almost seems like yesterday. of course, a couple seasons of not winning much will have any fan waxing poetic about the past. i think they finally have the right manager and this season will be completely different. hopefully starting Sunday in the Community Shield.

i sent out 10 poems today; 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 6 to Rose Red Review. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was amazing last night. to see just how bad Sig's heart attack was, you really realize just how lucky he is to be alive. plus, the talk between Wild Bill and his son hit really close to home. i think Bill said the words i always wanted to hear from my father; i'm sorry. i never did get to hear that. and now, i never will. hard to believe this was the 12th season of the show. i really think it's one of the best reality shows EVER.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i believe everyone could see Brock Lesnar showing up and getting back at Randy Orton. it was so good to see American Alpha finally debut. they are one of the best tag teams in the world. push them to the moon. and i really enjoyed seeing a more intense Dolph Ziggler. and the flow of the show was much better than Raw. it certainly helps that Smackdown is only 2 hours long.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Tyrant and Any Given Wednesday. i'll be watching NXT and CWC on WWE Network sometime tonight.

the New York Yankees lost last night 7-1. they called up prospect Gary Sanchez for tonight's game. i was hoping they were going to release A-Rod to make room for him. instead they sent Ben Gamel back down to AAA. why the fuck is A-Rod still on the team if he isn't going to play. other than the Yankees just don't want to give him the money and release him, i can't think of any other fucking reason. just bite the damn bullet, release A-Rod and Tex and move the fuck on.

i think i might watch some of the women's soccer tonight going on at the Olympics in Rio. looking at some of the pictures from where the athletes are staying, i certainly understand why both USA basketball teams are staying on the cruise ship. talk about a clusterfuck.

that's all for me today kids. it's another draining day in August. the dog days are upon us.
