so much for leaving the furnace off...

so, after a few days of really nice weather, it got cold again. we're under a freeze warning for tonight. thankfully, we haven't put out any flowers yet.

mom wanted McDonald's for breakfast this morning. i must have picked the right time to go as there was no line at the Brookville one. of course the trade off for that was the frozen Coke mom wanted wasn't available.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night.

American Song Contest was good last night.

the series finale of Better Things was excellent last night. i will miss this show.

it never fails...

so, today went nowhere close to as planned. mom fell this morning. my guess is she tried to sit on the edge of the bed and fell right off. thankfully, she didn't hit her head. but, she was shaken enough that she decided to cancel her physical therapy appointment today. so, instead of going to that, i had to run over to the local insurance company after my nap today and take a bunch of shit they needed to copy to verify that we are citizens and can keep our health insurance. and of course, right as i left the house to do that, it started fucking raining cats and dogs. fuck me.

the Yankees won yesterday over Cleveland, 10-2. i had a good laugh watching the post game shit on the Cleveland channel. they talked about how the players were so upset after Saturday and then play their worst game of the season on Sunday. i just laughed and thought karma is a motherfucker. the Yankees are off today and start a series against Baltimore tomorrow.

i did watch a few MLS games over the weekend.

Barry was fucking great last night.

The Baby was very good last night.

Gaslit was excellent last night.

The Man Who Fell to Earth was really, really good last night.

i did listen to episode 392 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

so, mom woke me up at 4 in the morning last night / this morning. she was talking to herself loud enough that it woke me. i went into her room and she was fully dressed, holding her walker like she was getting ready to leave. i asked her what the fuck was she doing and she said just getting ready to go and then looked at the clock and saw the time. she was like oh shit, 4 again, crazy time. she then looked at the stuffed animals on her bed and said i don't think he's happy with me. i told her to get into bed and go back to fucking sleep. needless to say i really didn't have that luxury. i was up by 6:30, putting the dishes away and making her coffee. and people wonder why i sleep like shit most fucking days.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

an early start to the day

i got a little better sleep last night. of course, that meant i was running behind this morning. i did get mom to her doctor's appointment on time. they want her to have a new MRI done on her back. they believe since the last injection didn't work, they might have to make the next one stronger. the new MRI, whenever the insurance approves it, will show how much stronger they should go. she also could be eligible to have a device installed in her that will work to rewrite some of the pain that gets sent on the spinal cord. this part excites me because it is very much like right out of a science fiction novel. knowing my mother, she'll have no interest in that. after we got done there, we drove out to her bank. she had a check to deposit. her eyes were bothering her the whole time. i'm guessing she is going blind. after that, we drove back home, picking up lunch at McDonalds along the way.

Monday Night Raw was good last night but could have been much better.

Better Things was excellent last night. next week is the series finale.

American Song Contest was good last night.

so of course it snowed...

April 18th and it fucking snowed. of course. it is supposed to snow some more tonight. but don't worry, it will be in the 70's by Wednesday. and people think i'm crazy when i say there is a conspiracy between mother nature and the medical industry to keep all of us fucking sick all the time.

Easter went well for the most part here. i'm not sure why my sister thought it would be good to make lemon pepper chicken, red potatoes and asparagus in the smallest fucking pan she could find. the baseball cards my mother got me were pretty good. i did get some decent rookie cards in the hanger box. all in all, other than the obvious fucking tension between my mother and sister, i thought the day went well.

the Yankees pissed away a wonderful start from Nestor Cortes yesterday. he struck out 12 and only walked 1 in 5 innings yesterday. of course, the offense didn't do shit as usual, and the Yankees lost 5-0. thankfully, the Yankees are off tonight. they start a series in Detroit tomorrow.

the universe hates me...

so, i got in a really good nap this afternoon. get enough ice on the back and i'm out with a snap of the fingers. mom and i decided to get our absentee ballots done today. when i went to put the stamps on the envelopes, that was when i realized we only had 1 stamp let. well shit, time to make a trip to the post office. so, i pull up there and park on the street behind another SUV. that driver was coming out of the post office and sure enough, it was the cousin that molested me as a child. that is always the subtle reminder that no matter what good i do in the world, how nice i am to other people, how giving of my time i am, none of it fucking matters as the universe will always hate me.

i guess Kroger can't get the 2% eyedrops that mom needs in anymore. so, i get to take the 5% ones back, i have no clue when, and get the money back for them. i guess mom found the 2% ones on Amazon.com. of course, i guess that is where all of us will be getting our pills soon.

the Yankees lost last night, 3-0, to Toronto. hard to win when you only get 4 hits. hopefully, they will do better tonight.

American Song Contest was pretty good last night.

a day from hell

add in some rain, stupid fucking people, some cunt trying to scam me on PayPal, and a trip to the Kroger pharmacy that i will have to make again tomorrow... what a day from fucking hell this has been.

the rain started right about the time i had to take mom to her physical therapy appointment. my arthritis was raging on the highway. that's always fun. i wrote 3 poems while i was there. i typed those up a little bit ago. i really like them. mom fell asleep while she was in her appointment. i figure she is getting closer to death as she spends nearly all her days and nights in bed now. we went to McDonald's for her frozen coke but the line was too long for her patience. i had got a notice while i was in the waiting room at the physical therapy place that someone sent me an invoice on PayPal. i checked that out when i got home. someone said i bought a gun in February. that made me laugh. thankfully, i was able to cancel the invoice. as i told my sister, if it would have been for a better gun, i might have pressed for the weapon. i had to then make a trip to the post office since there was a piece of mail in our mailbox for someone in a town roughly 20 miles from here. after i dropped that off, i went to Kroger. mom was supposed to get two bottles of pills and the eyedrops she gets that are over the counter. the guy gets everything, rings it up, i pay, and away i go. i get home, mom opens it up and starts to laugh. the pills were right. the eyedrops were the 5% kind. she gets the 2% kind. FUCK ME. so, i guess tomorrow i get to take that shit back to Kroger and hopefully get the right one. i'm in so much pain and so fucking frustrated, this is the type of day where i would feel completely justified to take out a few thousand people and just thin the fucking herd. of course, i'll never get to do that, but what a lovely thought...

the Yankees lost last night to Boston, 4-3. they left a small village on base, so i wasn't surprised they lost. they start a series tonight with Toronto. unless the Yankees pitch really good in this series, they will have to hit to even have a fucking chance against the Blue Jays.

so, i had another night where i got to bed around 5 AM. good times. i was up a little after 8 AM this time. i did manage to get a few hours this afternoon in my massage chair. the joys of a little ice on the back and a boring ass baseball game. that always does the trick. of course, i could have done without the rain today. fuck,

running on fumes...

i got to bed around 5 AM this morning. i was up and out of bed at 9 AM. my mother pretty much fell asleep at the same time i did. she got out of bed today at 4 PM. i would have to slip into a coma to ever sleep that long.

i went to the bank today. for some fucking reason, the bank i normally go to was closed. so, i had to drive a town over to go to that bank. that took way longer than it should have. after that, i drove back to Trotwood to go to Big Lots. i had a coupon to use. of course, they didn't have any baseball, football or basketball cards. i found the Jim Beam coffee i like. i also got a new mat for our front door. a couple of toys (Batman, Star Wars) and a better storage box for the cards. i was hoping it would come up to $40 so i could use the coupon i had. it was $33. fuck.

night 2 of WrestleMania was good last night. not as good as night 1, but i think it was better than what i was expecting. i'm hoping that Monday Night Raw tonight is fucking crazy.

learning to live with nerve pain...

it isn't exactly something i want to do, but i don't really have a choice. i don't live in a state that is smart enough to make marijuana legal. so, whenever my right arm starts to radiate from the nerve pain, i like to think of it as a cyborg has taken over that arm. that i am now part machine. maybe that explains all the sleep i don't get.

so, mom wanted me to take her to the local insurance place so she could make the payment on her life insurance. we got there and she had some steps to go up to get inside. thank god she took her pain pill. she managed to get inside pretty good. she gave the lady her name and then handed her the paperwork and a check. the lady informed mom that they no longer take payments for life insurance in the office. they have to be mailed in. now mind you, we were at the post office before we went to the insurance place. i asked mom if they told her this information when she called them yesterday. she said no. i went to McDonald's to get lunch and then took mom back home. of course, somehow, they got our order wrong. mom got what she wanted, of course, i didn't. mom found the envelope and put everything in it. i had to go back out to the local grocery store anyway since we were out of bread. i made my second trip to the post office and then found just about everything i was looking for at the grocery store. so, tomorrow it will just be a trip to Rite Aid and Kroger. good times.

American Song Contest was much better last night. i didn't like the song that won the night, but there were plenty of really good songs that i did like.

i must have the lucky touch these days...

so, i got some baseball cards today at Meijer. holy shit, i pulled another autograph card from a pack. i have never gone on a streak of two for two. the packs from Big Lots had an autographed basketball card in them. the packs today cost around $26. there was about $60 worth of cards in them. good times.

i didn't find everything i was looking for at Meijer. i did get plenty of coffee though. and luckily, Kroger had called to say that mom's pain pills were ready, so i picked those up on the way home.

the USMNT destroyed Panama last night, 5-1. that puts the boys just about into the World Cup. they need to avoid losing in Costa Rica on Wednesday by 5 or more goals. i think they should easily be able to do that. and once that happens, then they will automatically qualify for the World Cup.
