an early start to the day

i got a little better sleep last night. of course, that meant i was running behind this morning. i did get mom to her doctor's appointment on time. they want her to have a new MRI done on her back. they believe since the last injection didn't work, they might have to make the next one stronger. the new MRI, whenever the insurance approves it, will show how much stronger they should go. she also could be eligible to have a device installed in her that will work to rewrite some of the pain that gets sent on the spinal cord. this part excites me because it is very much like right out of a science fiction novel. knowing my mother, she'll have no interest in that. after we got done there, we drove out to her bank. she had a check to deposit. her eyes were bothering her the whole time. i'm guessing she is going blind. after that, we drove back home, picking up lunch at McDonalds along the way.

Monday Night Raw was good last night but could have been much better.

Better Things was excellent last night. next week is the series finale.

American Song Contest was good last night.

here are your 3 videos for this day of National Poetry Month:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Young Rock, Name That Tune, Deadliest Catch and two episodes of Mayans.

Manchester United plays in a little bit at Liverpool. no CR7 today as his young son died yesterday. i really feel for him and the mother of the child. i'm hoping for the best today for United, but i know it will take a miracle to get even a point out of today's game.

the New York Yankees play tonight at Detroit.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Winnipeg.

i know at some point tonight i am going to get the trash picked up and get it out and down to the curb.

here are your NBA playoffs highlights from last night:

i should be on here tomorrow after i get all the grocery shopping done.

i know at some point in the next day or so i need to go to the bank and i need to get my laundry done.

that's all for me kids.

i'm going to go ice my back and hope that United doesn't get killed today.

so, the elephant isn't quite as large today...

the elephant on my back isn't as large today as it was yesterday. between all the ice, i think at least some of the pain has gone away. i haven't slept worth a shit, so there's always that.

NXT was really good last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

The Masked Singer was fucking crazy once again last night.

Snowfall was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Cake and Desus & Mero. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on either Peacock or WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Philadelphia. hopefully, they will get a win.

the USMNT Under 23's lost to Mexico last night, 1-0.

the USMNT defeated Jamaica today, 4-1. hopefully, that is a sign of good things to come this year for them.

the Yankees play the Phillies tonight. i can't believe the baseball season starts in a few days.

it is supposed to storm here tonight. it has rained for a good portion of today. my arthritis certainly isn't helping my back any. the winds are supposed to cause power outages tonight. that sounds like fun.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i need to go ice my back down again.

has it really been 25 years?

it's hard to believe that the Oklahoma City bombing was 25 years ago today. even harder for me to believe the right wing nut jobs are even more prevalent today.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

that Global Citizen concert yesterday, One World: Together at Home was pretty good.

Austin City Limits last night was the John Prine episode i mistakenly deleted a month ago. so i was really happy to get to watch that again.

ROH was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Last Dance, VICE, Homeland, The Longest War, Atlanta's Missing and Murdered:The Lost Children, Westworld, Insecure and Last Week Tonight.

my bones tell me that rain is on the way, so this will probably be one of those days where i try to write the misery away.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. judging by the fridge this morning, i might have to go to the grocery store tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

i have no patience for incompetence...

so here was my situation. i sent in a medication refill request to my doctor's office last week. i called today as i took the last pill i asked for the refill on wondering why i had no reply. after being on hold for a few minutes, they came back on to tell me that the doctor i sent the request to is at another location and was unable to fill it. but they will gladly do it now. and then, i got a call back 30 minutes later to tell me the pharmacy said i still had a refill on it and they would fill it now. of course, their website said i had no refills and would have to call the doctor to get a refill. as i told my mother, they have to fuck you on the way in and make sure to fuck you on the way out. it's been raining all day and i'm fucking miserable. toss in some human incompetence and you can imagine the rage boiling inside of me. and just my luck, i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow at 8 AM. fuck me.

the New York Yankees won last night at the Dodgers, 5-1. Aaron Judge hit a home run in all 3 games of the series. hopefully, that means he's figured his shit out now and is ready to make up for lost time. i really thought the Yankees made a statement this weekend. that being said, i'm hoping the old letdown doesn't happen tonight as they start a series in Seattle.

Big Brother was good last night.

Succession was excellent last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was very funny last night.

the final season of Ballers started off with a bang.

the final season of The Affair started off with a great episode.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida brought back a ton of memories of my father and every stupid get rich quick scheme he fell for over my childhood. this show is wonderfully dark, so i'm going to enjoy it.

the final season of Power looks like it is going to be fucking great. the first episode was amazing.

i did watch a little of the MLS games last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

the grocery store was full of zombies today. it was like the rain had everyone moving at half speed.

i'll be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

my appointment tomorrow is simply supposed to a consult. of course, the message that was left for me yesterday made it sound like i'm having a procedure tomorrow. so, who the fuck knows.

i'm sure i'll be bitchy having to get up early tomorrow. joy.

that's all for me kids. the rain is supposed to continue tomorrow. i can't wait.

until then...

la lluvia es mi miseria

you know things are bad if i'm drinking coffee

welcome to the 19th day of National Poetry Month. i'm in pain and feeling fucking lazy today, so please enjoy three random YouTube videos:

the New York Rangers lost game 2 last night 4-3. this didn't surprise me as it has been since 1994 that the Rangers have won the first two games of a series at home. what i didn't like was how they let Cindy get going in this series. as much as i hate the fucker, the Rangers don't have that type of player on their team. but, they are the best road team in the NHL this season. on Monday, the Rangers will get the chance to prove it.

as for the Draft Lottery last night, i can't believe a team can fail forward as much as Edmonton can. i would love to see Connor McDavid say he doesn't want to play there since it's painfully obvious the management has no fucking clue what they are doing. not that i want to see him in Toronto either. maybe everyone can relive the Eric Lindros saga all over again and this time the Rangers can win it.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night from Tanaka and the offense finally had someone other than A-Rod explode. a clinical 9-0 win. holy shit, two wins in a row and a series win. they go for the sweep today.

i watched a little UFC last night as well as ROH. ROH was excellent once again.

we're supposed to get some heavy rain today and thunderstorms. of course we are, i put out the trash at the farm early this morning. why wouldn't it storm...

mom wants to start going through the shit in the garage today. looks like i'll be icing my back tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be Veep, Silicon Valley, Last Week Tonight and Nurse Jackie. i'm counting down the days until Penny Dreadful comes back.

that's all for me today. the rain is starting (at least that's what my ankle is telling me) and i know mom is waiting for me to help her in the garage.

hope everyone is recovering nicely from the drunken chaos of yesterday.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a sleepy weekend in the shade

here are your links for national poetry month:

today has been one of my lazy days. not that i haven't done things. did a couple loads of laundry for my mother, got the paper and mail in town. it's just the weather is so damn nice that all i have the energy to do is eat a little candy and sleep in my chair.

mom hasn't felt dizzy since the surgery so she is very happy about that. she's worried that she stills hears sounds in her ear that shouldn't be there. i tell her to not worry about it, just let the body rest and heal, but what the fuck do i know... i told her the bright side of losing all her hearing in her left ear is she won't hear me as well when i yell at the basketball games. i sit on her left at the games.

the New York Yankees got out to a nice lead last night and i felt good. and then, the bullpen shit the bed and somehow 4-0 became a 11-5 loss. ouch. they play again tonight. hopefully they can get back to their winning ways.

been flipping between soccer, playoff hockey and playoff basketball today. rinse and repeat for tomorrow as well.

i'm hoping i will be awake for ROH this evening. i believe it is on after the Ten Commandments. there's a poem there i believe.

i'll probably do another post in the morning tomorrow as around 11 am my day gets crazy. Manchester United plays in the morning and the New York Rangers play game 2 of their series at noon. plus, it's Easter and it's also the day to pick up the trash and recyclables. there's a poem there as well.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. enjoy the candy. be well. be creative. be the shining light hiding the train.

peace...
