i really need to do my laundry today. so, once i get this blog done... i'll be doing that the rest of the day.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night. i can't wait for Saturday Night's Main Event tonight on NBC.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

it has been a sunny day here. not hot, so i could actually open up the house and let the light breeze in. these are the days where i would love to fall asleep in the sun for a few hours and truly relax. i did make it to the bank today. i drove around a bit afterwards, just allowing my mind to escape a bit i guess. plus, there is enough construction around here, i have to go all these different ways to everything it seems.
here are your 3 videos for this day of national poetry month:
so, Rite Aid texted me today to say my prescription was ready. i was hoping it was my test strips to take my blood sugar in the morning but of course, it wasn't. i asked the lady at the pharmacy if my test strips had come in as they texted me on last Thursday and said they were ordering them. she checked and said no. i told her i am down to my last strip so i will be out of them tomorrow morning. she said to check tomorrow to see if they are in and if not, they will come up with something. ah, modern medicine.
the NHL season starts back up today. the New York Rangers will play their first game on Thursday at Buffalo.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.
i turned off the Manchester United game this morning against Brighton when United got down 2-0. they ended up losing 3-1. joy.
i did hear from a friend this morning that i hadn't heard from in months. i guess i can stop checking for her obituary now.
the Yankees won last night at Pittsburgh, 7-5. they play again tonight.
today has been one of those days where the time change has really caught up to me. i think i actually got some decent sleep for the first time in forever. of course, we're talking about a little more than 5 hours. it has snowed here a couple times today. fuck, it was snowing sideways for about 10 minutes. thankfully, it stopped long enough i could go get the mail out of the mailbox and not have to do it in a mini-blizzard.
i was really hoping the Dayton Flyers were going to win yesterday. they had the lead at halftime against VCU. they came out hot in the second half and pushed the lead to 11 points. sadly, then the usual happened. Anthony Grant got outcoached by a fucking mile. Dayton never makes any fucking adjustments while every other fucking team in college basketball can figure what isn't working and then go to plan b. i guess plan b never exists in Anthony Grant's world. he's been at Dayton for 6 years now and has won absolutely fucking nothing. and i know the year COVID hit Dayton was a top 3 team in the country and was going to have a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, etc. but, shit happens. Dayton missed their last 15 shots in the game (i haven't seen shooting that bad since i watched elementary school teams 30 fucking years ago) and lost to VCU, 68-56. Holmes and Camara made the all tournament team. Holmes was voted the player of the tournament. first time it has gone to a player on the losing team in nearly twenty years. after the game, Dayton announced that they wouldn't be accepting any invites to the NIT, etc. i laughed as i read they listed injuries as why they wouldn't be playing again this season. i'm sure if they would have won the game against VCU, they would have gone to wherever the NCAA told them to go. i'm guessing the team is going to look completely different next season. the rumors are a handful of players are leaving. i wouldn't be shocked if a few assistant coaches got offers at other schools to either be head coaches, etc. the one thing that won't change is Anthony Grant as head coach. i don't think the athletic director has the balls to fire him like he should. mediocrity is the only thing the fan base desires to be honest. win 20 games, nothing but positive talk about the school, the arena, the fans, etc., get a bid to the NIT since for all the blue hairs that were kids in the 50's, that was the only tournament that mattered. that was also the only time the Dayton Flyers mattered. i'm 99.9% sure i won't be getting season tickets any longer. i'm just so disgusted with this mentality of good enough when everything is in place to be great. except for the head coach. and they are so fucking blindsided by loyalty, since Grant is a grad, he will probably be there until he dies. what a fucking joke.
so, when the second game of the Yankees doubleheader started last night, i decided to not watch. i looked at my mother and said i guarantee Judge will homer now that i'm not watching. sure enough, Judge hit the third pitch of the game into the left field seats for his 62nd home run of the season. so, at least to me, Aaron Judge is the clean home run champion. it is amazing to think that the top 3 in American League history are all Yankees (Ruth, Maris, Judge). the Yankees won the first game of the doubleheader yesterday, 5-4. they lost the second game, 3-2. they are losing the game today right now, 4-2 in the 8th inning. Judge is finally getting a day off.
so, my back has been killing me since i woke up this morning. that always makes for a fun fucking day.
as you might imagine, i haven't done much today. check emails and basically ice my back down. rinse and fucking repeat. joy.
the Yankees won last night over the Reds, 7-6, in 10 innings. hopefully, the Yankees win the series tonight.
the New York Rangers won last night over the Lightning, 3-2. i love that the Rangers snapped that winning streak for Tampa Bay. the series now heads down south for Games 3 and 4. the Rangers are up 2-0 in the series. as much as i would love a sweep, all i really want is the Rangers to find a way to win 2 more games in this series. they haven't been to the Stanley Cup final since 2014.
i'm not really sure why we bother with changing the clocks these days. of course, i always laugh when they say on the news that we're losing a hour of sleep. right.
so, i did get both of my packages yesterday. the postal guy that delivers the mail crammed both in the mailbox. that didn't make me happy. thankfully, the tear in the one package was just to the outside, nothing inside. i did get some pretty good cards yesterday from Walk Off Wax, including my first ever graded card. of course, it had to be of a Red Sox player. i think i got around $50 worth of cards and i paid less than that for the packs, so i was pleased. i went through all the top loaders i got in my other package. mom bought me some more in her Amazon Prime order she did yesterday. so, i should have those on Tuesday.
the New York Yankees won yesterday over the Pirates yesterday, 7-5. they play the Blue Jays today.
