the joy of being superstitious...

so, when the second game of the Yankees doubleheader started last night, i decided to not watch. i looked at my mother and said i guarantee Judge will homer now that i'm not watching. sure enough, Judge hit the third pitch of the game into the left field seats for his 62nd home run of the season. so, at least to me, Aaron Judge is the clean home run champion. it is amazing to think that the top 3 in American League history are all Yankees (Ruth, Maris, Judge). the Yankees won the first game of the doubleheader yesterday, 5-4. they lost the second game, 3-2. they are losing the game today right now, 4-2 in the 8th inning. Judge is finally getting a day off.

NXT was really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

The Voice was excellent last night.

Tales From the Territories was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer and 4 episodes of Welcome to Wrexham.

the grocery shopping went ok today. my back decided to tell me to go fuck myself when i was at Kroger. so, bagging my own groceries became quite the chore. on top of that, i had to go to the eye doctor today to give them my mother's glasses. she's been waiting 2 fucking months for her new ones and they finally fucking told her today the lab would like to have the actual frames to put the lenses in. imagine that. i really wish they would have given mom the chance to get new frames, but she was the last appointment of the day and everyone wanted to fucking leave. so, i'm really hoping this speeds up the process of her getting her new glasses.

she has a dental appointment tomorrow morning. that should be fun. i will hopefully be on here before Manchester United plays in the Europa League tomorrow, but in case i'm not, here is a preview of their game in Cyprus.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Boston. i'll probably watch a good bit of that.

my back is killing me at the moment, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

trying to find time when there is none...

i swear anymore, these days just bleed into each other like trying to paint while doing acid. yesterday feels like 10 days ago. so much to get to, so on we go...

Manchester United shit the bed yesterday and lost to Tottenham, 6-1. i turned the game off when it was 3-1. i couldn't stomach it anymore. today is the last day of the transfer market. to say i'm a tad bit disappointed with what United has done in this window is a understatement. of course, if there is still gas left in the tank for Cavani, maybe he can give the team a lift. oh well.

it seemed like as soon as i turned the New Orleans Saints game on, they were down 14-0. thankfully, they scored the next 35 points and defeated the Lions, 35-29.

NXT Takeover 31 was fucking awesome last night.

Power Book II: Ghost was really good last night. that was the mid-season finale. i think new episodes are back in December.

Lovecraft Country was fucking spectacular last night. just two episodes left in the season.

The Vow was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

The Good Lord Bird was great last night.

The Comedy Store was excellent last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA Finals:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, The Third Day, We Are Who We Are and Fringe Nation. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

i did listen to episode 311 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

the Yankees start their ALDS tonight against Tampa out in San Diego. hopefully, the Yankees will find a way to win these games and get past their newest rivals. i'd love to see Tampa lose and cry about it. it's a best of 5 series.

there are two Monday night NFL games tonight. Atlanta is taking on Green Bay and the Chiefs are taking on the Patriots. i'll probably watch a bit of both of the games.

i got my latest order from Topps.com yesterday. i wasn't expecting it until today, so that was a surprise. i got the 2020 Big League Baseball box that has the exclusive Super7 MLB figurine inside. i got the Clayton Kershaw figurine and some really good cards in the packs. it was easily worth more than the $25 i spent on it.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from taking mom to get her latest shot for her back. she hasn't been feeling well the past few days. sleeping a ton the last 2 days for sure. i'm hoping nothing more is going on that the usual shit she has wrong with her.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

1 down, 10 to go...

the New York Yankees defeated the Twins last night, 10-4. they are up in the series 1-0. Game 2 is later today. hopefully, the Yankees will take care of business again.

Smackdown was really good last night. that bring said, i hated that they had Kofi lose the way he did to Brock (in under 10 seconds). but, to see Brock have that oh shit look on his face when Cain Velasquez came out, that was priceless. also, i can never get enough of what Bray Wyatt is doing.

Murder in the Bayou was creepy as fuck last night. next week is the finale.

Room 104 was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH, NJPW, Austin City Limits and Gary Gulman: The Great Depresh.

Ohio State plays at home tonight against Michigan State. this should be a good test to see how good Ohio State really is.

the New York Rangers play their first road game of the season tonight at Ottawa. hopefully the boys come out on fire tonight.

i will probably watch plenty of baseball and college football today and tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

until then my friends...

a Friday before the rain comes

this blog post is brought to you by The Sam Roberts Show Online, Episode #31. you can find the show on ITunes, Stitcher, and notsam.com. check it out and help him out if you can.

wanted to get this blog post done before the baseball playoffs start, before the rain comes, before i spend another hour on the toilet, etc. etc.

i couldn't sleep for shit last night. my back was in horrific pain and i'm not really sure if i want to know what the pain in my right leg is. but, i decided to actually get some shit done today. so, with that in mind, i actually sent out 13 poems today. the lucky ones receiving these gifts are The Camel Saloon, Carcinogenic Poetry, and Thunder Sandwich. hopefully, i will have good news to report soon.

not really surprised that the NHL are fucking up once again. in most labor spats, i side with the players. and this is no different. i love rich people who can't control themselves with spending but want others to take responsibility for it. if they don't watch it, hockey will be somewhere around lacrosse before long in this country. lose another season and us die hard fans will be the only ones left. just when the Rangers were on the cusp of the cup, fuck me.

a long weekend of sports is ahead for me. Yankees in the playoffs, Manchester United in action, NFL and all the fantasy fun and games. and who knows, maybe i sneak in a little writing on the side. depends on the pain i guess. or if the Yankees are winning or not. if you think i hate to lose in the regular season...

sad to see Bobby Valentine go so soon in Boston. wanted him to stay on for a decade and run that franchise into the ground.

hope everyone has a great weekend. peace and chicken grease.

music today:

Humble Wolf - Paper Thin
Warren Haynes Band - Live at the Moody Theater
Grant-Lee Phillips - Green Corn Songs: Live at McCabes
Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
