i decided to get off my lazy ass and do a new YouTube video. this poem was first published at The Camel Saloon. if you enjoy it, share it. if you hate it, tell me. enjoy:

one step back into the late 20th century

i now have a phone in my room again. i enjoyed those few months where i had no inclination who was calling or any desire to pick it up. now, there's a phone by my bed. all that truly means is the likelihood of phone sex has gone way up. anything other than that, not really.

just had some kids come to the door trying to sell me food. now i remember why i hate living next to people. one of the good things about being poor, no money to buy shit like that.

Big Brother went sort of how i expected last night. Meg got evicted. the house guests were shocked by the double eviction. i was sad to see James get evicted next as he was one of the only reasons to still watch. Steve won the latest HOH and all that means is Vanessa is sitting pretty until the final 3 most likely. these dumb fucks will realize soon that they should have got her out about a month ago.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was excellent last night. so was Married.

i did flip between some college football games last night. it's always good to see that shit school from up north lose. i was doing that while trying to figure out what to write in a card to one of my aunts suffering from cancer. that evil fucking disease. i was a little surprised with what i came up with, given that this aunt is on my father's side. but, i'm too old to hold them accountable for my father's mistakes. besides, i have no clue if she'll still be alive when the card arrives. so if anyone wonders why on any given day this blog could become one long depressing post about death, i am absolutely surrounded by it at the moment. my uncle needs gall bladder surgery and is ever increasingly depressed that he's 80 and can't do what he used to be able to do. maybe the unrealistic gene skipped me. or maybe that's why i picked writing as my "job". i'm pretty sure i'll do this until i die or until the words run out.

speaking of that, it's Flashback Friday time. first up today is my poem "at the community picnic". this poem was published in 2010 at Opium Poetry 2.0. you can find the poem by going here: http://opiumpoetry.blogspot.com/2010/08/at-community-picnic.html

the next poem is "a purple sky of tomorrow". this poem was published in 2013 at The Camel Saloon and comes from my endless amount of love poems for all the women that never gave me the time of day. you can find the poem by going here:
http://thecamelsaloon.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-purple-sky-of-tomorrow.html

ok kids, time for some music:
those last 4 videos are all bands from the local scene around here.

now, some of this and that:

tonight on the DVR will be NJPW.

the New York Yankees take on Tampa tonight from Yankee Stadium. at the same time, team USA will be taking on Peru in an international soccer friendly. i might have to do a little picture in picture action tonight. hopefully i'll be enjoying two victory beers later tonight.

my sister is coming down tonight for this weekend is her 20 year high school reunion. and since she was a class officer, she has to participate in the festivities. not sure if that is better than not even getting invited like what happened to me at my high school reunions. i guess we're going to celebrate her birthday this holiday weekend. it's really on the 8th but i think she has to work. so, i'm hoping it's a good weekend. other than it being hotter than hell and the threat of a popup storm every other hour, it shouldn't be too bad.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i do hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are in the USA, enjoy the holiday weekend. if you are somewhere else in the world, invent your own holiday weekend and get to drinking.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

life happens and then we all move on

so i got an email today that i was hoping was something like someone just pulling my leg. but then i went to the site and saw the news.

The Camel Saloon is now closed for submissions. Many thanks for all the patronage.

while i was sad at first, i definitely want to thank Russell for the number of times he published me. in an odd way, i think he helped me become a better poet as he never settled on something from me. i appreciate editors and publishers that reject me while giving me a sense of what they want. i believe i have one more poem coming out before the doors are shut forever on the Saloon. what a glorious 5 years my friend.

as i figured they would yesterday, the New York Yankees won 10-2. hell, i left to take mom to the bank when they were up 10-0. Nova pitched great and the offense got some timely hits. what a concept. that stops the losing streak. they start a series in Houston tonight.

mom needed to go to the bank yesterday to deposit some money and then get a cashier's check to pay off the new house. she mailed that off this morning. i told her she should feel proud. she's more or less debt free at 62 years old. she should think of it as she won the game of life. now go fucking enjoy it.

a little music break before we get to last night on television:

Big Brother was interesting last night. only the first half of the cast was shown. more people get revealed on tonight's episode. the twists for this season will probably drive me nuts. it almost feels like the show is jumping the shark. i'll give it a couple of weeks to see how it goes before i pass judgement. all in all, it should be a very interesting and long season.

NXT was really good last night. whenever you have a main event that involves 3 of the best wrestlers on the planet, you can't go wrong with it. also, the segments they have been running on Finn Balor are top notch.

Lucha Underground was excellent one again. i really like how the show is building to Ultimate Lucha. enjoy some highlights:

i watched the main event from ROH again last night. you can never go wrong with the Young Bucks, AJ Styles and Okada in a match. i did watch the main event of TNA as well last night. honestly, it made me feel old:

here is some funny shit from last night:

tonight is another busy night on tv for me. the DVR will be busy. Big Brother is on tonight at the same time as the NBA Draft, the Yankees game and god knows what else. also tonight is the season finale of The Comedians.

another quick music break my friends:

give the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast a listen this week. it is really good, especially if you are interested in knowing more about one of the men that are the future of pro wrestling:
you can listen on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com or on the right hand side of this blog.

thankfully, the rain of this morning has given way to some sunshine this afternoon. hopefully, it stays that way. we've been actually able to open some windows today and turn the air conditioning off. of course, the house is now close to 78 degrees and i'm wearing all black, so that might change before too long.

i hope this finds everyone drunk and happy.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

happy birthday to the woman that should have aborted me, probably

today is my mother's birthday. as i told her in her card this morning, 62 rhymes with fuck you, so you have an automatic response to any birthday talk. she liked what i got her, so that made me very happy. now, i just want her to decide if she wants to go out for a birthday dinner or if she wants me to cook (stop laughing) or go get something and bring it home. i figure she will tell me as i'm about 3/4 of the way through writing this.

i sent out 18 poems today. 5 to Carcinogenic Poetry. 3 each to Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon and Rusty Truck. i also sent 4 poems to Janne Karlsson. those 4 poems i have never sent anywhere. i figured maybe his genius pen could figure something out with them. well, about a hour or so after i sent them, he emailed me back. he definitely wants to try to use the 4 together as a book of some kind. he said one of the poems i sent was one of the most beautiful love poems ever written. those are the kind of words that give me some fucking fuel to keep going. so, if any publishers out there would like to get their hands on this (with the thought of publishing it in 2016 or later), please let me or Janne know. when i hear back from the other places i sent to i will pass on the verdicts.

i'm really getting tired of this never ending cycle of heat and rain we are in. it's like we either moved to fucking Florida or Oregon. it's fucking nuts.

enjoy a quick music break:

Monday Night Raw had plenty of moments last night i didn't like. but, the ones i did like, i really liked. and most of that involved the best heel in all of wrestling right now, Kevin Owens. enjoy:
that right there friends is how you get heat and how you become one of the biggest heels in years on the big stage.
two other parts of Raw made me smile:
now, if they would only go back to making this a 2 hour show, it would be a solid 2 hours with no fluff.

the New York Yankees lost 2-1 last night as the offense decided to take the night off. they play 3 more games against the Marlins; 1 in Miami and 2 in New York. hopefully they get a win tonight.

here's some pretty funny shit from last night:

tonight on the DVR will be Deadliest Catch and the start of season 2 of Tyrant. the USA women play Nigeria tonight in the Women's World Cup. depending on what mom wants to do, i might watch some of that and the NBA Finals.

congrats to Chicago on winning the Stanley Cup. i don't watch them give the cup to the winner anymore. it's too painful when you know the hockey team you have rooted for since you were a child was good enough to win it all once again, but came up short.

i will hopefully dodge more raindrops tomorrow and make it to the bank to make a BIG ASS deposit. i can't remember the last time i put in over $2,000 into my checking account. it probably hasn't happened since i got into a car accident when i was 23 that wasn't my fault. State Farm paid me off pretty good on that one.

in case you are interested in some FREE country music, go here:
http://specials.people.com/countryplaylist/

that is all for me today. i hope everyone is off to a good start this week. if you aren't living in this obscene cycle of rain and heat, you probably are.

i forgot to take a nap today

i typed up a poem i wrote a few days ago this morning. i liked it and thought what the fuck, this might as well be poetry day. so, i got some submissions together and then spent most of the afternoon typing up emails and sending them. of course, this was during when i usually take a nap. so, i tried to do my best checking of my shit while yawning. i figure i probably fucked up along the way somewhere. i sent out 17 poems today, 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash and 3 each to The Camel Saloon, Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes and Pyrokinection. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

i also got the first of my shipments from amazon.com today. i decided while buying mom's birthday gift, i might as well use the rest of the gift cards i had at amazon on some of the music i have missed. so, that was what was playing while the typing was going on today. good timing actually by the postal service on that one.

a quick music break before we get this show on the road:

the New York Yankees finished off their sweep of Kansas City yesterday, winning 4-2. Alex Rodriguez hit a big HR for the winning runs and continues to have a pretty fucking surprising season. they are back in first place in the division. they are on the west coast for a road trip starting tonight. i guess i'll be up late tonight.

my uncle came over yesterday while the game was on. he wanted to see the new furniture. we got "most" of what we ordered. one chair for the kitchen wasn't on the truck. i think mom and i are going to pick that up ourselves this weekend probably. my uncle liked the furniture and watched some of the game with mom and me. i think he just wanted to get away from his wife. i don't mind him coming over. if it gets more than that, it's off to my room.

the wrestling last night was excellent. NXT made me personally mark out when this match happened:
3 of my favorite independent wrestlers of all-time if you include the referee. that was a nice little moment out of nowhere. as usual with NXT, another great show.

Lucha Underground was spectacular once again last night. great moves and yet another HOLY SHIT spot fest. some of the best matches on television anywhere. enjoy the highlights:

the NBA Finals are now set. whoever wins this one will be getting their first title in a long, long time. Cleveland vs. Golden State. it should be a fun series to watch. plenty of small ball, running the court, shooting the 3, etc, etc. i wouldn't mind if it went for a good 6 or 7 games.

both NHL conference finals are going to 7 games. that's the first time that has happened in 15 years. hopefully the Rangers find a way to win another Game 7 tomorrow night.

tonight i'll have the DVR busy. all on at about the same time: The Comedians, Louie, Lip Sync Battle, and i believe FX is going to have the latest Louie C.K. comedy special on after the season finale of Louie. i'll definitely have to check that out.

mom and i went to the grocery store yesterday. we both noticed her car was making some weird sounds. figures, i thought, since it will be mine before too long. she took it in today and it was the back left brake fucking up. she just had the front brakes done last week. let's just say she's not a happy camper at the moment. as for the grocery store, not sure if i'm going to get any poems out of it. but, i did get some decent ice cream, so that will do.

that's all for me today. i will be on here tomorrow long before i get over hyped for Game 7.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

and for some more shits and giggles, a video or two:

and while we're on the poetry shit, i sent out 16 poems late last night/early this morning. 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. 5 each to Carcinogenic Poetry and Eye To The Telescope. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

so my sister called yesterday while the Yankees were playing. i guess my father died either yesterday morning or late Tuesday night. no one is really sure as his wife had a fucking stroke last Friday and is in a coma. that truly stopped me from enjoying what should have been a glorious moment in my life. i have waited for my father to die since the first time he stuck me in the corner for 6 hours as a punishment for not cutting the grass the right way. so, as you might imagine, this has been a total mind fuck for me. what kills me is to hear my sister say that his wife's grown kids say he was the father figure they needed in their life. that he was a great man. i spent all of last night wrapping my head around that one. i can only figure that he saw his own failures in his own kids. there was no "him" in the stepchildren. which of course leads me back to my own failures as a human. i have no clue when there will be a funeral or anything. i have no clue if he had life insurance or if he gambled away all of what he earned over his years at the post office. knowing how much my father hated me, i figure, i'm the oldest, i'll end up with a bill. i tried my hardest last night to think of some good times with him. i thought of the THREE times we played catch over the 18 years he was a part of my life. then i thought about the wrestling show he took me to in Springfield, Ohio where i actually hit Kamala with a paper cup. of course, i got punished for that, but it was a great show. but, that was it. the memories that came flooding back was him telling me he married my mother because he needed someone to knock the shit out of his underwear. the time he fell off a ladder at the pre-school i went to trying to put up a basketball hoop. that of course was my fault for not holding the ladder. i was 8 years old. the time i got in trouble for hitting a tree with the riding lawnmower. i was 7. the time he broke my door down when i told him he was a horrible father. that was the first time he told me he would kill me. the time i was 7 and got grounded for life for packing all my things and leaving. the time he tried to choke me to death for getting in trouble for writing dirty words in Spanish in a girl's yearbook in junior high. and then the last memory that came back to me last night was watching him get put in the back of the police car when he told the cops i was the one driving his Ford Bronco when he had his hit and run accident. i still remember telling my sister as we watched from the bedroom window that i just put a Vietnam Vet in jail, he's going to kill me. he of course had the money on him to bail himself out of jail. mom was at a nursing conference in Columbus. i called her and told her her oldest child is in jail. she said what did you do? and i said, not me, the one you fucking married. we spent that night in a hotel. writing this i can recall the time i watched him beat my mother with a 2x4. i found out via my sister that some of his family is now reading this blog. welcome. WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST 22 YEARS? his whole damn family forgot about us once the divorce happened. i can understand not liking mom, but what the fuck did my sister and i do? if anyone EVER wonders why i despise family events or people in general, you may have a clue why. so i went to my room yesterday after i got the news and more or less did the same thing i did as a teenager when my father would upset me. i turned on "The End" by The Doors and just hit repeat.

hopefully my father's wife makes a full recovery or dies in peace. i wish her no pain and have absolutely no beef with her at all. as for my father, the sooner i can see him in the ground, the quicker i can start to actually let these fucking demons go. but i've got 39 years worth of shit to deal with. and this is the part where being a loner really fucking sucks. all my friends have lives and families to deal with. and i have the misfortune to always feeling like if i asked for help i would just end up being a burden. good times. there will be plenty of nights where i will be drinking myself to sleep. like i did last night. not sure if it was sleep or just pure exhaustion. but it was 4 hours of sleep knowing that the fucker that haunted my life since birth was no longer with us.

and to think, if i was born in December of 1975, my whole fucking life could have been different. but i will know until the day i die, my father hated the fact that since i was born in January of 1976, he had to wait an entire fucking year to write me off on the taxes. looking back, it feels like he tried to make damn sure he got that money back from me one way or another.

the only thing i will thank my father for... thank you for being such a piece of shit that i refuse to pollute the earth with anything that could possibly have your bloodline in it. thankfully, my sister has so far refused as well. good for you that you at least found the fucking guts before you died to treat someone in your life with some decency and respect. i just wish you would found the fucking guts to tell me to my face that you were sorry for all the fucking up and that you loved me. however long i have to live on this earth, i will know to the day i die, my father NEVER loved me. it makes it all clear now why neither you or mom did anything when i was molested. you probably thought i deserved it.

welcome everyone to the fucking cross i am stuck on for the rest of my life.

a quick musical break:

the Yankees pissed away chance after chance to win the game yesterday in extra innings. they lost 3-2 in 13 innings. somewhat appropriate... my lucky number is 13. given the news i got in the 8th inning, of course they would lose. they are off today and start a series up in Boston tomorrow.

NXT was really good last night. of course, any show that features Kevin Owens is going to be good.

Lucha Underground was excellent last night as well. and i watched the Mick Foley comedy special last night on the WWE Network, "Cheap Pops". much, MUCH better than i thought it was going to be. hopefully Mick will be in my area soon. i'll have to go check him out.

tonight is going to be one of the biggest clusterfucks on television i can ever remember. the New York Rangers start their second round series with the Capitals tonight. the NFL Draft starts tonight. the New Orleans Saints have 2 picks in the first round. already scheduled for my DVR is The Big Bang Theory, The Comedians and Louie. plus, the NBA playoffs are going on. fuck me runnin'.

another musical break, this time from late last night:

if you have made it this far, you deserve a prize. unfortunately, i'm a poor asshole that can only offer you a sticker. if you so desire, email me your mailing address and i'll get you something in the mail soon.

i'm going to try to get to the bank today before it rains. if i fail, i will go tomorrow. i suppose it wouldn't be bad to start off May with a nice deposit. fuck, the year is already a quarter gone. not much longer until i'm 40. that's when life really begins right?

that's all for me today. i thank you if you have read all of this drivel. feel free to leave comments or email me if you so desire. my skin is thick enough for the hate, so if my father's family wishes to call me a liar, please, go right ahead. or if you'd like to actually get to know the cousin you CHOSE to forget about, just like it was 22 years ago, all my information is public.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the winds of hell

oh shit, two days in a row. i guess i'm back in the flow of this once again.

i didn't sleep very well last night. i'm not sure if it's the season or the absolutely fucking bizarre dreams i was having. between one where my high school girlfriend actually was in love with me to one where i was accused in history class of putting mustard on a chocolate cake. not sure what the fuck it all means nor do i really fucking care at the moment.

of course, 20 minutes after i woke up from those dreams, i opened an email from Russell at The Camel Saloon passing on the poems i sent yesterday. well, that helps solve the problem with not having poems for the broadside project.

i was not very pleased with Monday Night Raw last night. other than Brock Lesnar nearly killing everyone, the rest of the night was a bit of a downer. i did like the debuts of the guys from NXT. hopefully they are on Raw for a long time. it just felt like they were back to hey, let's fuck the audience again and not give them anything they want. though, i doubt they liked the cheers when Brock did this to lead announcer Michael Cole:
of course, it would have been best to do the rest of the show in silence. they chose not to and made shit even worse.

i watched The Voice from last night this afternoon. i figured it was a good time, especially given the way team USA has been playing here recently. they were playing Switzerland at noon. so, once The Voice was over, i flipped over to the soccer match. of course, i missed a great goal:
USA ended up drawing with the Swiss 1-1. Jozy Altidore got a red card. not sure why people think he didn't deserve it. he was going to get a yellow for the tackle. you can't exactly tell the ref to go fuck himself and not think you're not getting another yellow. stupid stupid STUPID. oh well, just another fucking friendly where they couldn't hold a lead.

the New York Rangers play tonight up in Winnipeg. this isn't the best place to try to get on a good streak. hopefully they win against a desperate Jets team.

on the DVR tonight will be the recap episode of The Voice and Undateable, one of the few comedies i actually like on NBC.

the people that were supposed to get the furniture today didn't show up. figures. mom has told them they have to be here by 8 in the morning tomorrow or she's giving it all away to charity. so much for sleeping in tomorrow.

i got some free music on iTunes today. i haven't been over to NoiseTrade yet to see what they have. and, i guess i should check out that new streaming service that Jay Z is doing. judging from the commercial, it looks interesting.

that's all for me today. i believe i might have to drive mom to work tomorrow. her Meniere's disease has been acting up again. if that happens, i'll bring along a pen and paper and maybe get a few poems down. either that, or maybe do some day drinking. good times.

hope this finds everyone drunk and looking at bad porn. until tomorrow bitches.

riding the waves

so here's what happened at the doctor's office this morning. i got there a little early, so my gift was to wait until nearly 15 minutes after my appointment was supposed to be until i actually got in. good times. thankfully, my weight was down as was my A1C, which made the doctor really happy. we talked about my ankle and he looked at it. he figures it's tendinitis, but he ordered some x-rays just to make sure. so, i drove there and after waiting in line for 5 minutes behind a woman who shit her pants and another 15 minutes just to get registered to get the x-rays, i finally got in and had 3 x-rays done. i have to call the doc in a few days to see if anything is broken. if it comes back clean, the process will be time and patience. i figure it will be more like pain tolerance and plenty of drinking. i'll post a pic of the bar i have set up at the new house. let's just say i'm an alcoholic.

i sent out 11 poems today; 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. i sent out 5 poems to Your One Phone Call. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

it was when i was sending out those poems that i checked and saw my poems had been published on Horror Sleaze Trash. that poem "pink sweatpants" is about 98% true. man, i miss those days.

i watched WrestleMania last night. i was pleasantly surprised with how good the show was. i watched it on the WWE Network as Directv decided not to offer it this year. i was happy that i was able to stream the network through my Bluray player. look at me, finally in the 21st century. hot damn.

i'm really looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. this is ALWAYS the best Raw of the year. and after how good the ppv was last night, i'm expecting a fucking great show tonight.

the New York Rangers were the first team in the NHL to get to 100 points this season. sadly, they have shit the bed since that. hopefully they can turn it back up and win the division and go into the playoffs on fire.

i have made the finals of fantasy hockey for the 4th year in a row. hopefully i don't finish second like the last three years.

i got an email today asking for some poems for a broadside project. i guess i need to break out the pen and paper again. of course, i do have a few older poems now available as well. i will hopefully get that submission ready in the next few days.

hopefully the people coming to get the furniture for my sister's friend show up tomorrow. after that shit gets out of the garage, mom can start getting her shit over here. that should help her stress level some.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and god knows what else.

i'm just about ready to start hanging the artwork and whatnot in my room. once i get that done, then i'll post some pictures of just how fucking ridiculous my room is.

that's all for today. i'm slowly getting back in the groove. if i happen to carve out a few minutes for this tomorrow, look the fuck out.

hope everyone had a great weekend.

and 39 years ago today i screamed let me out

today became a birthday of getting shit done. i woke up in a decent enough mood and decided to be a glutton for punishment. i started typing up poems. exactly how any asshole who thinks himself to be a poet should spend his time at 7 in the morning on his birthday. in my utopia, i would be getting a blowjob while eating grapes. in reality, i'm wondering why my fingers don't work as fast on this keyboard.

anywho, i sent 16 poems out today. 3 to The Camel Saloon and 6 each to ZYX and The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places, i'll pass along the verdicts.

i deposited my birthday money today at the bank. i also entered the gift card my mother got me for amazon.com. i'm not planning on getting anything from there until the move is complete. but, once that happens, i feel sorry for the postal service. i also got a New Orleans Saints shirt, some comfy house shoes, a Dayton Flyers scarf, and a book about Dayton's run to the Elite 8 last season. all in all, not a bad birthday at all.

mom and i went to the sports bar for my birthday this afternoon. when the waitress found out it was my birthday, she asked if i was turning 21. i laughed and noticed the ring on finger and thought to myself, if only... the drinks were a little stiff, which i certainly didn't mind.

now for the sports last night... the Dayton Flyers were due for a stinker. of course, they chose to play that one on national television after getting ranked in the top 25 for the first time this season. they got whipped in every aspect of the game by Davidson last night, 77-60. and quite honestly, it wasn't that close. but, shit happens. they are still 15-3. they play Richmond at home on Saturday night.

while Dayton was playing like shit, the New York Rangers were following right along. to say i was frustrated was an understatement. thankfully, New York came alive in the 3rd period and got the game to OT. and then, this happened:

what a great fucking way to go into the All-Star break. here are the highlights from the whole game:

tonight i'm planning on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. i might watch some hockey as well. and then late tonight, i'm going to catch up on some podcasts while eating some birthday cake.

i also got a haircut today. the barber almost didn't recognize me without my goatee. he then asked how old i was. when i told him i turned 39 today, he was stunned. he remembers when my mother brought me in as a child. now, the funny part of this is this may have been the first time we have spoken outside of how do you want this cut in over a decade. after that, we shot the shit about sports for the next 20 minutes or so.

thankfully, my truck started right up today. i hadn't started it for almost a month. of course, i had to put some air in the tires, but it ran great. that takes a huge burden off of my mind.

ok, that's all for me today. i have some birthday cake waiting for me. thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i truly do appreciate them.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

oh well

so my day started off with 3 poems getting rejected by The Camel Saloon. being the stubborn fuck i am, i'll probably do another submission somewhere before 2014 ends.

it was kind of funny, both my sister and i were up before mom got up today. i guess since we were doing Christmas today, it should have been expected. mom felt bad that she didn't get to do much shopping this year, being sick and working all the time. but, i do really appreciate the gift cards she got me. i've put the ones for iTunes already to use. i'm going to try to be a good boy and wait to use the Amazon.com cards until after my birthday (Jan. 21 for anyone interested in getting me something...HINT HINT). my sister got me some pretty cool shit, the best being the locally made vodka and the glass for it. given how a certain NFL team played today, that vodka might get used tonight. i think my sister really liked what i got her. i know my mother was sort of shocked with what i got her. all in all, not a bad Christmas this year. my sister had to go home to let her handyman in to fix her toilet. from the sound of it, she had an interesting drive home.

i didn't get to see any of the New York Rangers game last night. but, i did enjoy the victory beer. nothing quite like a perfect road trip. a 3-2 win in a shootout. the two teams play tonight at MSG. here are the highlights from yesterday:

the Dayton Flyers finally got some shots to fall for a change and won last night 78-62. hopefully the hot shooting continues as they play again on Tuesday night against Georgia Tech and the former coach of Dayton, Brian Gregory. here are some highlights from last night's win:

ROH was excellent last night. the main event was one of the craziest no DQ matches i have ever seen.

Saturday Night Live started off great last night.
but sadly, i didn't care for much of the rest of the show.

the New Orleans Saints had a chance to take a huge step closer to making the playoffs today. well, thanks to some shitty officiating, an offense that couldn't get out of its own way and a defense that absolutely fucking SUCKS, they lost 30-14. the lost eliminates them from a chance to be in the playoffs. hopefully they make a good draft choice being that high in the draft this year.

i'm losing in my fantasy football championship game. i want to believe that it can get to the single digits so my WR from the Broncos will have a chance to help me win tomorrow, but i doubt it. i won't give up hope yet, but i'm pretty damn close to it.

tonight, i'm really looking forward to the season finales of Homeland and The Affair. both of those should be outstanding. i'll probably watch some football and some hockey as well.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. i know mom is dragging me to her meeting with the nutritionist tomorrow, so that should be interesting. i'm guessing i might be on here in the afternoon.

i do hope everyone is having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a glimpse into my future

let's start off today with a little poetry update. i did do a little writing late last night. i typed up those 3 poems this morning and i really like them. i held one back for submission later, but the other 2 went out today. i sent out 6 poems today, 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from those places, i will pass along the verdicts. i'm pretty sure those are my last submissions for 2014. hopefully i go out on a high.

well, my mom and sister now own our new house in Brookville. so, it looks like my 17+ years of farm life will be coming to an end soon. it will be a culture shock, that's for sure. we went over to the new house and set up some lights to come on and off at certain times. not that the crime rate is high where we're moving. while we were there, there was a knock at the door. both my mother and sister wanted me to get it, but i decided not to. they both figured it was my uncle, who lives next door. i had a feeling, mostly because i know god hates me, that it wasn't him. sure enough, it was the cousin that molested me. to say that this house is going to be the death of me is not that bold of a claim. i was happy to see that the door on my new bedroom has a lock on it. it will get used. of course, my feet hang off of the bed in there. the woman that lived there must have been shorter than short. it will certainly take some getting used to. i think we'll start moving stuff in after Christmas.

i just really flipped through the channels last night on television. i did try to watch some of The Colbert Report series finale last night. that was great. i know tonight is the final show of Craig Ferguson's run on The Late Late Show. i've really become a fan of the show over the last few years. that should be a weird and great finale as well. also, i will have to watch Letterman tonight to see the final Lone Ranger story and Darlene Love singing Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). i think tonight will be one of those nights i really feel old. i certainly felt old when this video came out the other day:

i suppose most of what else i watch tonight will depend on what my sister wants to watch. i have no sports teams going tonight, so i'll hand over the remote. at least for tonight.

the New York Yankees made a couple of trades today. they got a little younger but lost some versatility. but, that also means that some young guys are going to get a chance to make the team in spring training. i do like the sound of that.

that's all for me today. i will probably be on here tomorrow afternoon, most likely after the Manchester United game.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. get your last minute shopping done. and just in case you don't get to read this blog in the coming days, i do hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas or whatever you fucking celebrate this time of year.

adrift in a bloody fog

it certainly goes without saying, i've had better days here on earth. i fell right back into my old routines last night, not getting to bed until well after 5 AM this morning. i shaved, got my shower in, did the dishes, talked to a woman in Colombia, watched way too much porn and indie wrestling videos until i ran out of gas. of course, 4 hours later i was up. that's the life of this poet.

then, i had my first shit of the day. it crept up on me while i was doing my laundry. thankfully, i made it to the bathroom. and when i looked at what was in the bowl, i knew the rest of my day was going to be miserable. just my luck, my back started to give out about 25 minutes into this process. just fucking lovely. and there was just enough moisture in the air that my arthritis was flaring up as well. these are the days when a little demon pops up on my shoulder and reminds me that men MUCH greater than i am have killed themselves, what am i waiting for?...

so, imagine the joy of doing the rest of my laundry, going into town to get the mail, eating lunch, watching sports, etc... all while knowing my asshole is bleeding. good times.

thankfully, Manchester United lifted my spirits a bit today. they won 2-1 over Stoke City. given that Rooney nor Di Maria played today, i'm pleased with the result. they are slowly turning the corner to becoming a top 4 team again. here's the game in a GIF:

as for last night, the New York Rangers were up 3-2 and had just killed off a 5 on 3 power play when they suddenly just went to shit. 4 straight goals over the next 30 minutes for Tampa Bay and the Rangers lose 6-3. thank fucking god we don't play that team again this season. and god willing, we won't see them in the playoffs either.

Monday Night Raw was quite honestly just about 3 hours of filler. i was so fucking bored that i actually fell asleep during the main event.

The Voice was good last night. i saw bits and pieces of the performances last night and this morning on YouTube. while many of them were good, nothing really blew my mind. i suppose i'm still bitter about the results from last week. i'm interested to see who gets voted off tonight.

i ended up ending my 6 game losing streak with my one fantasy football team. of course, my other team had their 8 game winning streak stopped in the other league i'm in. but, that team did qualify for the playoffs, so that goal is accomplished.

i heard back from Russell at The Camel Saloon on my poetry submission from yesterday. he passed on what i sent. back to the drawing board i suppose. but, that certainly fits with how my day was going.

that's all for me today. i'm off to go ice down my back and figure out what to eat for dinner.

thanks again for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.
