happy go buy a mattress day...

i had a line pop in my head yesterday that completely came out of nowhere... i once met Ezra Pound in a dream and he told me to fuck off. as soon as it popped in my head i started to laugh. i flushed that out and eventually wrote a poem, which gives me 30 for the month. that little inspiration got my ass in gear and today i sent out 20 poems. 6 to Record Magazine; 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash and 3 each to Pyrokinection, The Beatnik Cowboy and Rusty Truck. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

i did watch a little of the Daytona 500 yesterday. seeing the number 3 car in victory lane again certainly brought back some memories.

and i did watch a bit of the NBA All-Star game as well. i do like the new format, that's for sure. the game seemed much more competitive.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 7-4. i have no damn clue why the coach left The King in for all 7 goals. at least they are continuing to tank the season now.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night. i have no damn clue who is getting voted out tonight.

Homeland was pretty good last night.

The Chi was excellent last night.

Here and Now was fucking great last night.

Divorce was pretty funny last night.

Crashing was pretty good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as always last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Celebrity Big Brother. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i do believe that the USA men's hockey team plays tonight against Slovakia. they will have to win that game and win tomorrow if they want a chance to play for a medal. i know the women's team will be playing Canada for the gold medal in a couple days i think.

i might watch some of the Winter Olympics tonight. especially if i can't sleep like last night.

it's been really muggy the last few nights. perfect if you like sleeping with a shotgun in your mouth.

i'll be on here tomorrow before i have to take mom to physical therapy.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. hopefully some of you actually got to enjoy a 3 day weekend.

great time for the power to go out...

so i was in the shower early this afternoon. i had everything ready to go to the post office and the grocery store. and just as i started to shampoo my hair, the fucking power goes out. now, if i still lived on the farm, i would truly be fucked, as the water would have shut off as well. thankfully, here in suburbia, i could at least finish showering, albeit in the damn dark.

the power was out for 30 minutes. i have no fucking clue why it was out. i'm just happy it wasn't out for a long time.

some poetry news first... i heard back from The Homestead Review on my poetry submission from back in October. while they enjoyed my work, they decided to pass on the poems. well, at least i know i have 5 poems ready to go in February.

i sent out 25 poems today; 3 each to Pyrokinection, Rusty Truck and Mad Swirl; 5 each to Nerve Cowboy and Easy Street; and 6 poems to The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the verdicts.

the New York Rangers won last night over Buffalo 4-3. Rick Nash scored 2 more goals. that was the first time in 4 seasons he's had back to back multi goal games. of course, they lost Kevin Shattenkirk to a knee injury last night. great. more injuries right before a road trip. lovely. i believe they play at Colorado on Saturday.

Lip Sync Battle was really good last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

The Big Bang Theory was very good last night.

Young Sheldon was really good last night.

Life in Pieces was very funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Treehouse Masters, Real Time with Bill Maher and High Maintenance.

my sister is planning on coming down here in the morning. so, i will probably end up doing a blog sometime in the late afternoon/early evening, if i do one at all. i suppose that's the good thing about having your birthday on a weekend. the whole damn weekend can become a party if you want. if the New Orleans Saints would be playing on Sunday, it truly would be.

i do plan on watching a little of Manchester United tomorrow morning.

and then hopefully the Dayton Flyers won't get the shit beat out of them by Rhode Island tomorrow.

i think my sister and i are coming back home after the game to have lunch with mom. probably after that i will do a quick blog while hoping to have many victory drinks later in the evening.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. call if you need bail money.

this is why you move to higher ground

we had 4.6 inches of rain last night. thankfully, where our house is, it doesn't really flood much. i went out to check since a sewer drain is right across from our driveway and if it starts backing up, i know where it's going. and i really had no motivation to get in the car and go check all the spots around town where i knew there would be flooding. thankfully, i was drinking last night, so i didn't have as much pain as i should have.

before i get to yesterday's shit, a few poetry updates...

i ended up typing up 7 poems yesterday. those are my first ones for November. i really like a few of them.

i sent out 30 poems today. 6 to Record Magazine, 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Live Nude Poems and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted); and 3 each to Rusty Truck, Mad Swirl and The Beatnik Cowboy. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

Manchester United lost yesterday at Chelsea 1-0. they now sit 8 points behind Manchester City in the Premier League. hopefully the boys get healthy again and City collapses at some damn point this season.

the New Orleans Saints took care of business yesterday and defeated Tampa Bay 30-10. they are now 6-2 on the season and still in first place. they play at Buffalo next. that won't be easy.

Shameless was great last night. i am so happy the show is back.

SMILF was very good last night. i think this is going to be a show i really love.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was very funny last night.

Vice Principals was crazy last night. the series finale is next week.

Last Week Tonight was great as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Columbus. i'd love to see the Rangers make it 4 wins in a row tonight.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom has some blood work to get done and a brain MRI tomorrow afternoon.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.
