this is why you move to higher ground

we had 4.6 inches of rain last night. thankfully, where our house is, it doesn't really flood much. i went out to check since a sewer drain is right across from our driveway and if it starts backing up, i know where it's going. and i really had no motivation to get in the car and go check all the spots around town where i knew there would be flooding. thankfully, i was drinking last night, so i didn't have as much pain as i should have.

before i get to yesterday's shit, a few poetry updates...

i ended up typing up 7 poems yesterday. those are my first ones for November. i really like a few of them.

i sent out 30 poems today. 6 to Record Magazine, 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Live Nude Poems and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted); and 3 each to Rusty Truck, Mad Swirl and The Beatnik Cowboy. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

Manchester United lost yesterday at Chelsea 1-0. they now sit 8 points behind Manchester City in the Premier League. hopefully the boys get healthy again and City collapses at some damn point this season.

the New Orleans Saints took care of business yesterday and defeated Tampa Bay 30-10. they are now 6-2 on the season and still in first place. they play at Buffalo next. that won't be easy.

Shameless was great last night. i am so happy the show is back.

SMILF was very good last night. i think this is going to be a show i really love.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was very funny last night.

Vice Principals was crazy last night. the series finale is next week.

Last Week Tonight was great as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Columbus. i'd love to see the Rangers make it 4 wins in a row tonight.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom has some blood work to get done and a brain MRI tomorrow afternoon.
