the end of the month...

we got over 2 inches of rain yesterday and last night. you can imagine the amount of shitty sleep i got. and since mom didn't want any coffee this morning, i didn't make any. joy.

i wrote 11 poems today while mom was in her physical therapy session. that brings my total for the month to 67 poems. that's 1 more than last month. i don't see this type of production staying up during the summer, but who knows. i did type up the poems i wrote today when we got home. i do like a few of them. i will probably do my next round of submissions in the first week of June.

the New York Yankees won last night over Houston, 5-3. that's another series win. they start a series at Baltimore tonight. of course, they are in a damn rain delay at the moment. that's part of the reason this blog is so late.

here are your highlights from Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final last night:

the finale of Being Serena was very good last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

the NBA Finals starts tonight. i will probably watch some of the game.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2018/5/31/wrestling-podcast-188-x-pac

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom and i go to the grocery store.

that's all for me kids. it's time for dinner i guess.

of course, it had to start raining...

before i get to the arthritis in my knee going nuts as i was biting into a sandwich, a little serious note i need to pass along.

on the right hand side of the blog, you may have noticed the picture i put up that is a direct link to Debbie Kirk's fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. this is to get her some money for her fight against breast cancer. i urge everyone to check it out, donate if you can, and pass it along to everyone you know. many thanks for all of you that do this. here is a link to the fundraiser:
https://www.gofundme.com/5m0wfqg

after mom and i got the car back from the mechanic, we went out lunch. just as i was biting into my bacon cheeseburger at Red Robin, my left knee started throbbing. 2 minutes later, the televisions went out and i knew exactly what was coming. it started to really fucking pour. that exact moment, i should have gone to the bar and got a shot or something. thankfully, the rain didn't last long, but the fucking drizzle did. we had to go to the grocery store after that. mom had pills to pick up (9 prescriptions) and we were out of sweetener for the morning coffee. that was all done pretty quickly. thankfully, the drizzle had stopped on our way home. of course, it's supposed to rain more tonight.

the New York Yankees won last night, 6-5 in 10 innings over Houston. the Yankees had no business winning the game as they had 5 fucking errors in the game. but, i'll gladly take it. the Yankees can win the series as it concludes tonight.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

the season finale (and hopefully not the series finale) of The Chris Gethard Show was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Being Serena. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'm rooting for Las Vegas in this series. hopefully they will go up 2-0 tonight on Washington.

i will be on here tomorrow after i get home from taking mom to her physical therapy appointment. hopefully, i will have some end of the month poems to type up.

that's all for me kids.

one busy day...

before i get to the adventure of the bank and Office Depot, a little poetry news first.

i sent out 19 poems today. 3 to The Beatnik Cowboy. 6 to Bindweed Magazine. and 10 poems to Lucidity Poetry Journal. when i hear back from these places, i wll pass along the verdicts.

mom paid me for the month. so, since i was headed in that direction, i figured i would go to Office Depot to pick up a few things. the black woman working at the bank was showing just enough cleavage to allow my brain to go fucking nuts. there will be poems i suppose. i needed to get some new pens, some envelopes and some damn tape at Office Depot. thankfully, mom gave me a gift card and she had some reward dollars that needed to be used. so, 4 pens, 100 envelopes, and 4 rolls of tape ended up costing me $7. that's not bad.

my theory is apparently true. we only have two seasons anymore. cold and fucking hot. we're in the fucking hot stage at the moment.

the New York Yankees lost to Houston yesterday 5-1. hopefully they will get a win tonight. considering who is pitching, i'm not holding my breath.

team USA defeated Bolivia last night 3-0 in a soccer friendly. i loved that the USA played plenty of kids and they seemed to really play well. now, the competition wasn't great, but i don't care about that. i love that the kids will get some confidence and then can test themselves later in the year with better teams. you can see the highlights from the game by going here:
https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2018/05/29/01/12/20180528-recap-mnt-debut-goals-from-zimmerman-sargent-weah-propel-youthful-usa-past-bolivia

i did watch the NCAA championship in lacrosse yesterday. that's probably the only Memorial Day tradition i actually have.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

John McCain: For Whom The Bell Tolls was excellent last night. i really liked that they showed the moments he fucked up as a politician as well as the good stuff. well worth your time checking out.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:
so it's going to be Cleveland and Golden State in the NBA finals for the 4th straight year. if LeBron wins this one, he might as well declare himself the messiah. it's going to take everything he has to beat the Warriors.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch, The Jim Jefferies Show and The Chris Gethard Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

no playoff games tonight, so it will just be the Yankees game i will be flipping to during the commercials.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i take the car to the mechanic. just the basic there's 225,000 miles on the vehicle checkups and what not. mom and i shouldn't be there too long. who knows, we might get a bite to eat afterwards.

i need to pick up the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

Happy Memorial Day

i remember when i was younger, Memorial Day actually meant something. now in my 40's, Memorial Day is a reason to buy a new car or a mattress. but, that's what capitalism will do, so i'm not surprised. hell, even the asshole that runs this country made the day about himself. my thank yous to everyone who gave their life to this country. you'd be saddened beyond belief to see what you gave your life for is being used for now. of course, the majority of you would have been the dumb fucks that voted this asshole would-be king into office.

the New York Yankees won yesterday, 3-1 over the Angels. the Yankees start a series with Houston this afternoon.

i did watch the last few minutes of Game 7 last night between Boston and Cleveland. one day the haters of LeBron are going to realize what they actually missed when he is gone from the league.

Westworld was fucking great last night.

Billions was very good last night.

I'm Dying Up Here was excellent last night.

Drop the Mic was pretty funny last night.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night. i do love how awkward a drunk Brie makes things.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the men's national team plays a soccer friendly vs. Bolivia tonight. hopefully the USA wins.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final starts tonight. i'll probably watch some of that.

Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals is tonight. the Warriors at the Rockets. i'm kind of hoping Houston wins, mostly because i don't want to see Cleveland vs. Golden State for the fourth year in a row.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. it is hotter than shit here on this Memorial Day. when i went out to get the paper, it was definitely the air you wear. joy.

that's all for me kids. enjoy your holiday.

when the body starts breaking down...

sometime around 8 or 9 last night, i got this pain on the bottom of my left foot. i figure it's my abnormally high arch strained after everything i did yesterday. so, it looks like another day of sitting in my chair working on my pain tolerance. joy.

i did get the birds fed and take mom to the store before we had some rain roll through yesterday. i like to get the food to the birds when i know a storm is coming. they tend to panic easily.

the New York Yankees managed to take a 4-1 lead last night and lose 11-4 to the Angels. i have no damn clue why they pitched to Mike Trout last night. it makes no fucking sense. hopefully the Yankees can get the series win this afternoon.

i didn't watch much of the NBA playoffs last night. by the time i was going to tune in, Golden State was blowing Houston out. so both conference finals are going to have a Game 7. the first one starts tonight when Cleveland is at Boston. here are your highlights from last night.

Patrick Melrose was very good last night.

The Tale was very interesting last night. it was a hard one for me to watch, given the subject matter. Laura Dern was excellent in it.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Billions, I'm Dying Up Here, Westworld, Drop the Mic and Total Bellas.

i was very happy that Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 yesterday in the Champions League final. and that Gareth Bale goal will be shown forever i imagine.

i did do a little poetry work yesterday. i believe i will be sending out 13 poems before this month ends.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

my poem "the verge of death" has been published in Lucidity Poetry Journal (June 2018 Bonus Issue). to get the issue it is in, send a few bucks to:

Ted Badger
5409 Croix Road
Manvel, TX 77578

stuff to do before the rain comes...

there's nothing quite like waking up to phantom pains in your left leg. i suppose i was dreaming of the cramp that partially tore my calf muscle and woke up feeling the pain. as soon as i stood up, the pain went away. the joy of being fucking crazy.

i want to get this blog done, feed the birds and take mom to the store before the Champions League final starts this afternoon. so, here we go...

the New York Yankees won last night 2-1 over the Angels. Gleyber Torres became the youngest Yankee ever to homer in 4 straight games. he drove in both runs last night. Aaron Judge threw 2 runners out last night. hopefully, the Yankees will win again tonight.

NJPW was very good last night.

Major League Wrestling was good last night.

Mauro Ranallo: Bipolar Rock & Roller was great last night. it was one of the best documentaries to show the effects of mental illness i have ever seen.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH, Patrick Melrose and The Tale.

i will probably watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight as well.

the Champions League final today is between Real Madrid and Liverpool. if there ever was a day i need CR7 to be magical, today is the day.

there's not enough hours in the day...

my body is at the point where doing 3 fucking things in one day is probably going to need the assistance of cocaine. between taking mom to the doctor, shopping at Menards and going to the grocery store... my body needs an ice bath or a bottle of booze. i'm trying to take it easy with the alcohol as i know mixing it with muscle relaxers can be tricky. i'm not quite as young as my imagination likes to believe i am.

we got everything we needed at Menards and the grocery store today. of course, today would be the day it got hot and sticky. mom nearly passed out when we came out of Menards. my left leg started killing me when i woke up this morning. the muscle relaxers helped some, but not enough for what i was doing today.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against the Angels. hopefully they will do to them what they did in California, sweep them.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas and Mauro Ranallo: Bipolar Rock & Roller.

i will probably watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight. it could be LeBron's last game in Cleveland... again.

i will probably be on here tomorrow before the Champions League final. i will be rooting so damn hard for Real Madrid tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. if you are traveling, be safe. leave the drinking to the professionals.

well, i found something that will make me sleep

i took a muscle relaxer around 11 last night. i fell asleep around 2:30 and didn't see the clock until 8:30 this morning. 6 hours of sleep is a fucking eternity to me. mom thought i shouldn't be driving today. i laughed and reminded her, i was the designated drunk driver in my group of friends.

i had to take her to get a chest x-ray this afternoon. before that, i stopped at the grocery store to pick up a new prescription for her. after her x-ray, we went to lunch. after lunch, we went to the Dollar Tree to look for some shit. she didn't find anything. of course, i did. i'm a cheap fuck, let's be honest. dollar stores are right up my alley.

i wrote 4 poems today. i typed those up and liked a few of them. in other poetry news, i heard back from Easy Street on my recent poetry submission. they decided to pass. my unpublished file is way too fucking big for my liking at the moment. hopefully that will change in the next month or so.

the New York Yankees lost last night at Texas, 12-10. they had two different big leads in the game and their pitching blew both of them. oh well, there goes the series winning streak. they are off tonight and will start a series with the Angels at home tomorrow.

well, the Stanley Cup Final is set. Washington vs. Vegas. hopefully it will be a good series.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

NXT was pretty good last night.

Being Serena was good last night.

enjoy some music:

i have to take mom to her foot doctor in the morning tomorrow. after that, i believe we are going to go to Menards since we will be already up near there. they are having a big holiday weekend sale i think.

i should be on here after all that.

and the survey says...

so, after going to the doctor today, the verdict is i have a partially torn left calf muscle. he ordered me 10 days worth of muscle relaxers. that should help with the nerves firing off randomly. of course, as this heals, just what my left leg needs...more scar tissue. so i'm supposed to take it easy for the next 10 days. we'll see.

i wrote 10 poems yesterday while mom was in her physical therapy session. i typed them up last night and really liked a few of them. i think that brings me to 40 poems or so for the month. i'll probably have another writing session over the holiday weekend.

the New York Yankees lost last night to the Texas Rangers, 6-4. the Yankees will have a chance to win their 9th straight series later tonight.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

The Voice finale was pretty good last night. i don't really care for the winner, but like i said, i wasn't surprised. i certainly wasn't surprised the two black performers finished 3rd and 4th. it is the USA in 2018 after all.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

The Chris Gethard Show was hilarious last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was fucking great.

riding the waves of pain

if i had to guess, i think i'm dealing with a nerve problem as well as a pulled/strained calf muscle. and when my nerves fire off in my left leg, oh my fucking god. it's not as severe as the pain i had when my sciatic nerve was pinched. this is more of the feeling i would get when i would get high as a teen and wasn't quite sure what i took. and it's not that i don't enjoy the uneasy feeling, it's more of a matter of knowing i won't be able to find the pleasure forever in the pain. it's that unknown side of life that i tend to dread. my tendencies for self-destruction tend to grow a little deeper each day. good times.

the New York Yankees continued hitting home runs last night, defeating Texas 10-5. hopefully that will continue tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

The Voice was pretty good last night. you could tell the moment was getting to some of them. i honestly think Britton will win it tonight. that being said, i wouldn't be shocked if any of other 3 won either.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

we had some storms hit last night, right as i was finishing up my dinner. we got 1.5 inches of rain. i figure our yard is going to look like a jungle here before too long.

enjoy some music:

i'm planning on bringing my notebook with me to mom's physical therapy appointment this afternoon. and as long as i can manage the pain, we'll probably be going to a late lunch/early dinner afterwards.

i'm interested to see how many poems i write today. there's a good chance it will be raining while mom's appointment will be going on. that should make things even more interesting.

where pain meets depression and madness starts to laugh

i have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday afternoon. the swelling in my leg went down some overnight. it's still at a level where i would love to know what the fuck is going on. it doesn't feel like when i had blood clots a decade ago, so i'm hoping that's a good sign.

i've spent most of the afternoon talking to my best friend as it looks like she's busy talking herself out of getting the treatment she needs for her breast cancer. and then of course, she'll change her mind 20 minutes later. i seriously wonder how far off she is on her meds. and it's so much fun getting all this dumped on you when you can't do a damn thing about it. these are the afternoons where you can't find another word for hopeless.

and since it's supposed to rain later on tonight, my arthritis is starting to flare up. that then starts to fuck with my nerves. it's a symphony of pain. these are the days where i wish i wouldn't have talked myself out of doing heroin when i was 18.

Westworld was amazing last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as always.

Billions was very good last night.

I'm Dying Up Here was really good last night.

Total Bellas was as stupid as it always is last night.

Drop the Mic was excellent last night.

the New York Yankees whipped the Royals yesterday 10-1. that's the 8th straight series the Yankees have won. they haven't done that since 1998. they start a series tonight at Texas.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs yesterday:

oh my, after more than 4 hours of sleep...

so, i was able to sleep without being violently woken up overnight. i got somewhere close to 5 hours of sleep total. now, the only problem is my left leg is swollen. and the troubling part of that, the swelling reminds of a decade ago when i had blood clots. so, i'm going to do my best today of staying off my feet. hopefully, that will help the swelling go down. if that doesn't work, i will probably be going to a doctor or a hospital tomorrow. i know if it is a blood clot, i need to catch it as soon as possible. so, if you happen to see nothing on the blog for a few days, there's a good chance that i have been admitted somewhere. good times.

i just watched team USA defeat Canada 4-1 to win the Bronze medal at the World Hockey Championships. Chris Kreider from the New York Rangers scored 2 goals for the USA.

the New York Yankees broke out the long ball last night and defeated the Royals 8-3. the Yankees hit 5 home runs in the game. hopefully they will get the series win this afternoon in Kansas City.

it looks like YouTube isn't playing along with me today, so i don't know how many videos this blog is actually going to have today.

i did watch some the Tampa Bay Lightning defeating Washington last night 3-2. that means the Lighting, or Rangers South, are 1 win away from going to the Stanley Cup Final.

i did watch some of Cleveland destroying Boston last night in the Eastern Conference Finals by 30. Boston is up in that series 2-1 now.

ROH was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking hilarious last night. i swear every celebrity in New York City was on the show last night.

Patrick Melrose was excellent last night.

i watched maybe the first 30 minutes of Fahrenheit 451 last night on HBO. it was good but certainly not good enough for me to stay up for.

so, a few minutes before 6 AM this morning, i had the most violent cramp in my left leg in my 42 years on this planet. it honestly felt like the lower half of my left leg was leaving my body. my big toe on my left foot was sticking straight up in the air. i'm not sure why i got the cramps. i didn't drink last night. i have this big cup i drink water out of. it's 24 ounces for a full cup. i usually will drink 4 to 7 of those a day. my guess is the cramp was actually caused by diabetic nerve pain. it's been so fucking rainy the last day or so that my left leg feels like it has radiation running through it. it reminds me of when my sciatic nerve was pinched. worst fucking pain in my life. this morning was as close as i have been to that in the last 10 years.

so, since i was up, i fucking watched most of the Royal Wedding this morning. it was fine. i was simply hoping to pass the damn time until the USA played Sweden in the semi-finals of the Hockey World Championships this morning.

Sweden whipped the USA 6-0. that means the USA will be playing for a bronze medal tomorrow morning. and if the current results hold, they will be playing Canada in that game. joy. (Canada got upset by Switzerland today 3-2)

so, probably after my 5th glass of water this morning, i got ready to watch Manchester United play in the FA Cup Final. needless to say, when shit rolls downhill, eventually you come to realize it's never going to fucking stop. United pissed away chance after chance and of course were fucking horrible in the first half. Chelsea scored on a penalty kick that was deserved (fuck you Phil Jones). United played with more desperation in the second half, but that never amounted to shit.
what a fucking waste this day has turned into.

the New York Yankees lost to a shitty Royals team last night, 5-2. hopefully they will get a win tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

VICE was very good last night.

NJPW was pretty good last night.
