a rainy day, filled with arthritis and frustration...

i always love when a day starts off with me not making it to the bathroom in time. i swear, these are the days i just shake my head and know the 8 year old me was right. hard to believe we're coming up on 40 years since i first thought of suicide.

let me start off with my doctor's office visit yesterday. my blood pressure was great. my A1C was up. they believe it is due to stress. and all the usual, i need to exercise more, watch what i eat, etc. they are upping my dose of Trulicity. so, i hope that works. i need to get my blood drawn sometime this month. joy.

Manchester United won yesterday at home against Real Betis, 4-1. that gives them a very good chance of advancing in the Europa League when they go to Spain next week.

the Dayton Flyers defeated St. Joe's yesterday, 60-54. they will play Fordham tomorrow afternoon in the semifinals.

the New York Rangers won last night in Montreal, 4-3 in a shootout. they play tomorrow at Buffalo.

one way to wake up later in the morning...

i wanted to wake up after 8:30 this morning. i knew the easiest way for me to accomplish this was to not go to sleep until 4 in the morning. sure enough, that is exactly what happened. it has felt like it was going to rain all day today. so far, nothing. joy.

the Yankees finished off the sweep of the Red Sox last night, winning 5-2. now, the Yankees truly control their own destiny. they start a series tonight at home against the Twins.

AEW was great last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure Britt will be going to the jury house tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Holey Moley, When Nature Calls and Desus & Mero. i watched NXT UK earlier this afternoon on Peacock. it was really good.

i should be on here tomorrow after i hopefully get a fucking haircut. i can't stand when my bangs get into my eyes. that drives me nuts and as my mother would always say, that's a short fucking trip.

so, i got a letter today from my doctor's office. the doctor i was supposed to see next month is moving to Piqua, which is about a hour away from us. so i had to cancel my appointment and call up there to get a new one. thankfully, it will be on the same day, just a little later in the afternoon. now, i have no clue which woman i will be seeing, but i'm sure it will make for some interesting poems.

that's all for me kids...

welcome to the weekend...

so, today has been a little frustrating. my mother had to do her laundry first, which i had no problem with. but, she forgot to actually start the dryer, so that was a hour of my life i will never get back. oh well.

my sister did get the televisions switched out last night. it's fucking weird to have a tv again in my room. i know my sister will be happy as she will now be able to watch all her murder shows on the big tv when she is here.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Dark Side of the Ring was about the Dynamite Kid last night. he was one of my favorites when i was younger.

Dark Side of Football was about the Cleveland Browns last night.

The United States of Al was pretty funny last night.

Clarice was excellent last night.

the USWNT defeated Portugal last night, 1-0.

the Yankees, more like Aroldis Chapman, pissed away the lead last night and lost to the Twins, 7-5. for me to see that as the first thing i see in my room on the television in years was fucking cruel. the Yankees are off tonight and start a weekend series tomorrow in Philadelphia.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW, Pause with Sam Jay, Real Time with Bill Maher and Betty. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

i'll probably watch some of the NBA playoffs tonight as well.

while doing my laundry today, i'm watching some tennis and the start of the Euro 2020 between Italy and Turkey. i'll probably watch most of the Euro 2020 tournament over the next month.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

today was another hot and muggy day. i'm hoping we will get some rain to cool shit off. if not, i'll be out watering the plants when the sun goes down.

eventually, the pain will give way...

we had a huge line of thunderstorms hit here last night at 8. of course, right as i was starting to record the shows from last night, while watching wrestling and the New Orleans Saints. thankfully, the storms were moving pretty fast, so i didn't miss much.

the New Orleans Saints started off awful last night. at one point, they were down 20-3 to the Chargers. the Saints got a touchdown right before halftime and used that momentum to eventually win the game, 30-27 in OT. they are back in first place and are now on their bye week.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

Axios was good last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i was curious how Nicole won the HOH. she got lucky as hell with that.

The Third Day was awesome last night. the series finale is next week.

We Are Who We Are was very good last night.

Fringe Nation was a look at the militia movement in this country last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

i'll probably watch the NFL game tonight between the Bills and Titans. other than that, this might be a night to get some writing done.

i did get another box of cards put in order today. it was the big box of football cards. i also put my hockey cards in order. i'm waiting on the money from my first sale to show up. once that happens, the ball will be rolling on all of this.

i need to pick up the trash here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i'm getting used to waking up around noon...

so, i finished up what i wanted to get done last night around 6 this morning. i decided i should probably check my email, since i hadn't done that for i don't know how long. well, apparently, i hadn't checked my email from Sunday morning. so, 550 emails later, a new blog post, etc. i went to bed around 8 this morning. i was up at 11:30. i know i'm burning the candle on both ends, but, fuck it. i have no interest in living longer than i'm going to.

i sent off 4 poems to The Black Shamrock Magazine today. i love when an editor will email me and ask if i have any poems unpublished that i could possibly send to them. of course i do, sadly. i'll let everyone know when i get the verdict on these poems.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Third Day was excellent last night. i'm pretty much at the point now anytime i see Jude Law is in something, i watch it.

We Are Who We Are was really good last night. i really hope this is going to be a series i love.

here are your highlights from the NHL last night.

Axios was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Deadliest Catch and Big Brother.

i didn't watch much of the NFL games last night.

i do hope to watch some of Game 7 tonight between the Nuggets and Clippers. i won't be shocked if the Clippers choke again.

the Yankees start a huge series with the Blue Jays tonight. hard to believe there are only 13 games left to this season. the Yankees are 1/2 game behind the Blue Jays in the division.

i need to pick the trash up here and next door. so, that's all for me kids.

i should be on here after i get the grocery shopping done tomorrow.

always a good sign...

i woke up this morning with a poem in my head that made me laugh. that's always a good sign.

i think i might have slept just about 5 hours last night. that's better than normal, so i'm assuming getting some sun yesterday did the trick.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

Betty was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.

i'm hoping the rest of today is going to be nice before the rain comes in tonight. we've got the house opened up a bit and it feels like napping weather.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

just enough rain to be miserable...

i saw the woman that works at the post office in town at the grocery store today. if she only knew how many times she has appeared in my dirty dreams...

i did pretty well at the grocery stores today. the goal is to keep everything under $100. when it shakes out at $115 and mom had you buy some stuff that isn't what she normally needs, i take it as a win.

the New York Yankees won yesterday over the Orioles, 7-2. Luke Voit is well on his way to becoming a legend and with everyone else in the division losing, the Yankees are in first place. the series continues with games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

i did watch the college basketball games last night. other than the Purdue and Tennessee classic, the rest of the games weren't that watchable. hopefully the games tonight are better.

Will & Grace was really good last night.

Better Things was excellent last night.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll probably be watching college basketball for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against the Blues. you know the plan boys, Lose for Hughes.

unless i get up crazy early tomorrow morning, i'll be on here after Manchester United plays in the morning.

the Yankees play around 1 in the afternoon tomorrow, so i will probably be on here after that is over. of course, it's supposed to be raining cats and dogs tomorrow, so who knows.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully your weather is better in your neck of the woods.

8 for 8

i didn't get to watch Manchester United play Arsenal today in the FA Cup. i did follow the match online and really enjoyed what i saw. honestly, Ole might be the second coming of Sir Alex. Manchester United won 3-1 today to advance in the FA Cup. i will enjoy that drink tonight so damn much.

the grocery store today was dead. i guess the cold ass temperatures kept the masses away. that was a welcome change. there was no one in line at the pharmacy. the liquor store wasn't packed. the aisles only had a few people in them. of course, i knew i was going to pay for it one way or another. they didn't have the deodorant mom wanted, so yeah. oh well, i got out of there with spending less than $200. maybe the fucking prices will go down again now that the asshole that runs this country ended the damn shutdown.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Gotham was great last night.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

i did write 7 poems yesterday while mom was doing physical therapy. i typed those up last night. i really like a few of them.

i stumbled upon some amazing music from Japan last night. The Theory For Our Revenge. you can check out their debut single by going here: https://soundcloud.com/the_theory_of_our_revenge/oboro

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, WOW, Real Time w/Bill Maher and Celebrity Big Brother.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. this is going to be a busy weekend, mostly because it's Royal Rumble weekend, but also the NHL All Star game and plenty of other shit i want to watch.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. they are saying we're going to get more snow. i knew there was a reason i got gas today.

one of those unexpected moments...

Drew Brees threw his 500th and 501st touchdown passes yesterday. when the Saints were up and the Ravens were driving, i was really hoping the defense would find a way to make a stand. silly me, the Ravens went right down the field and scored a touchdown. thanks to an act of Mother Nature, the Ravens kicker, who had NEVER missed an extra point in his professional career, missed the kick. Saints won 24-23. that's a huge fucking win on the road and that gives Drew Brees a victory over every team in the NFL.

the New York Rangers lost to Calgary last night, 4-1. to be honest, i didn't watch much of the game at all. i figure there's going to be plenty of games like that this season.

America to Me was pretty good last night. the series finale is next week.

Shameless was great last night. i'm a little pissed the show won't be on again until January, but i'll get over it.

Kidding was fucking great last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Stolen Daughters: Kidnapped by Boko Haram. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i woke up this morning to 5 poems being rejected by North of Oxford. not exactly the way i hoped to start a Monday, but oh well.

i will be on here tomorrow after mom has her eye surgery on her left eye and after Manchester United plays Juventus in the Champions League.

physical therapy went very well today. i don't have to go back. my therapist showed me another exercise to add to my routine. i told him i've been doing the stretching and exercises four times a day here the last few days and the back has really responded. so, that will be the plan going forward. hopefully, i won't have to have any physical therapy for the rest of the year.

i mailed off my mother's and my absentee ballots today. so i guess i'm back in the system now.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

oh my, after more than 4 hours of sleep...

so, i was able to sleep without being violently woken up overnight. i got somewhere close to 5 hours of sleep total. now, the only problem is my left leg is swollen. and the troubling part of that, the swelling reminds of a decade ago when i had blood clots. so, i'm going to do my best today of staying off my feet. hopefully, that will help the swelling go down. if that doesn't work, i will probably be going to a doctor or a hospital tomorrow. i know if it is a blood clot, i need to catch it as soon as possible. so, if you happen to see nothing on the blog for a few days, there's a good chance that i have been admitted somewhere. good times.

i just watched team USA defeat Canada 4-1 to win the Bronze medal at the World Hockey Championships. Chris Kreider from the New York Rangers scored 2 goals for the USA.

the New York Yankees broke out the long ball last night and defeated the Royals 8-3. the Yankees hit 5 home runs in the game. hopefully they will get the series win this afternoon in Kansas City.

it looks like YouTube isn't playing along with me today, so i don't know how many videos this blog is actually going to have today.

i did watch some the Tampa Bay Lightning defeating Washington last night 3-2. that means the Lighting, or Rangers South, are 1 win away from going to the Stanley Cup Final.

i did watch some of Cleveland destroying Boston last night in the Eastern Conference Finals by 30. Boston is up in that series 2-1 now.

ROH was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking hilarious last night. i swear every celebrity in New York City was on the show last night.

Patrick Melrose was excellent last night.

i watched maybe the first 30 minutes of Fahrenheit 451 last night on HBO. it was good but certainly not good enough for me to stay up for.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Billions, I'm Dying Up Here, Westworld, Last Week Tonight, Drop the Mic and Total Bellas.

i will probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs today as well.

i did watch Justify win the Preakness Stakes yesterday. that means there will be a chance for a Triple Crown winner this year.

that's all for me kids. i really do need to get my leg up.

snow was in the air

let me tell ya, i felt like a cat trying to cover up shit in a windstorm today. i almost had time to eat and/or shit. but before i get to that...

this date does live in infamy. no one in this fucking country should ever forget Pearl Harbor, even if you weren't born until years later. one of these fucking days people will realize we keep making mistakes because we never fucking learn from our history. of course, i'll be dead by the time that day comes around.

i sent out 43 poems this morning. 2 to Tuck Magazine; 3 each to Bluepepper, Chiron Review and Yellow Mama; 5 each to Misfit Magazine, Horror Sleaze Trash, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted) and Winedrunk Sidewalk; 6 each to Record Magazine and Punch Drunk Press. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

after that, i got all of my Christmas cards and special gifts for certain friends and fans done. so, you'll probably want to start checking your mailboxes by the weekend boys and girls.

i almost felt sorry for the people behind me in line at the post office while they were putting all the postage on the envelopes. almost. $25 later, i'm sure they were happy to see me leave.

the Dayton Flyers played much, MUCH better last night and defeated Tennessee Tech 79-66. i believe they have finally found a defense that works for them. now, if they could just find a damn offense that isn't boring as fuck to watch.

NXT was really good last night.

Total Divas was pretty good as well last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces and 32 Pills: My Sister's Suicide.

the New Orleans Saints play at Atlanta tonight. i'd love to see the Saints get a big win. that would make it possible that with a little help, they could clinch the division this weekend.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

i will be on here tomorrow sometime after a trip to the grocery store. considering what the fridge looks like, i might be there for a few hours tomorrow.
