two out of three ain't bad

when i got into bed around 5 this morning, i was hoping i was going to sleep to noon. sadly, i only slept until a little after 10. i've been trying to be productive today, but my busy Sunday truly drained me a bit. but, i did feed the birds, clean the toilet and made some chili for tonight, that's not bad for being spent.

let's start at the beginning. Manchester United defeated Everton 2-1 yesterday. it was bit nervy at the end, but i'll gladly take the 3 points.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead yesterday and lost to the Kings 4-3. thank fucking god i didn't see the end of this game. considering the guy that scored the goal for the Kings was the same guy who scored the game winner when the Kings beat the Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final years ago. if i would have had to live through that again, i would have gone fucking nuts.

WWE Evolution was really good last night. i am so happy for the women that made this event a success. it was easily one of the better shows the WWE has done all year.

the New Orleans Saints took advantage of a sloppy Vikings team last night and won on the road, 30-20. this sets up a HUGE game next Sunday at home against the LA Rams.

The Deuce was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

the series finale of America to Me was very good. i thought the series did a good job of showing the shit show that is the educational system in this country.

Ray Donovan was good last night.

Kidding was dark and brilliant once again last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Lip Sync Battle. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i will probably make some cornbread with the turkey chili tonight. anytime i make chili, it's a sure sign that the cold is coming soon.

i will be on here tomorrow after mom's eye appointment. she says she's seeing better now than even after her cataract surgeries. so, that's good news.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

welcome to my busy day

today is one of those days where one event just sort of bleeds into the next and i will barely have time to fucking think or shit. good times.

more on that in a bit.

my sister stopped by here last night. the first thing she did was hand my mom a pamphlet about an old folks home. i believe my sister thought it was funny but if she saw mom's face, she would have realized it wasn't. and since she came at night, she didn't notice anything that we had done with the house until we started to point it out to her. my sister has always had this amazing ability to not give a shit about anything that wasn't about her in some way. and with that, she only chooses to remember the good shit. it's this willful ignorance she has that must be fucking bliss i suppose. i have never lived on that planet and probably never will.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the finale of America to Me, The Deuce, Camping, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Kidding. i will be watching WWE Evolution for most of the evening. it's the first all female ppv for WWE, so i'm hoping it's really good.

if i have any luck, i will take a shower before Manchester United plays at noon. they are taking on Everton. i'm hoping the boys can find a victory today.

after that, the New York Rangers play the LA Kings out in Los Angeles. hopefully, the Rangers will get a victory today.

and tonight, the New Orleans Saints go back to the scene of the crime when they play at Minnesota. that loss last year in the playoffs is still fucking fresh to me. i'd love to see the Saints get a victory.

with any luck, i will be enjoying 3 drinks tonight while catching up on the shows.

i think i found another place to send poems to. i want to write some more before i send to them though, since there is money involved.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

one of those unexpected moments...

Drew Brees threw his 500th and 501st touchdown passes yesterday. when the Saints were up and the Ravens were driving, i was really hoping the defense would find a way to make a stand. silly me, the Ravens went right down the field and scored a touchdown. thanks to an act of Mother Nature, the Ravens kicker, who had NEVER missed an extra point in his professional career, missed the kick. Saints won 24-23. that's a huge fucking win on the road and that gives Drew Brees a victory over every team in the NFL.

the New York Rangers lost to Calgary last night, 4-1. to be honest, i didn't watch much of the game at all. i figure there's going to be plenty of games like that this season.

America to Me was pretty good last night. the series finale is next week.

Shameless was great last night. i'm a little pissed the show won't be on again until January, but i'll get over it.

Kidding was fucking great last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Camping was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Stolen Daughters: Kidnapped by Boko Haram. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i woke up this morning to 5 poems being rejected by North of Oxford. not exactly the way i hoped to start a Monday, but oh well.

i will be on here tomorrow after mom has her eye surgery on her left eye and after Manchester United plays Juventus in the Champions League.

physical therapy went very well today. i don't have to go back. my therapist showed me another exercise to add to my routine. i told him i've been doing the stretching and exercises four times a day here the last few days and the back has really responded. so, that will be the plan going forward. hopefully, i won't have to have any physical therapy for the rest of the year.

i mailed off my mother's and my absentee ballots today. so i guess i'm back in the system now.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i am tired of being right...

i wrote yesterday that i thought the Ohio State game was going to be a trap game and sure enough... Purdue beat Ohio State last night 49-20. i honestly didn't watch much after the 3rd quarter. i was just too fucking angry. now Ohio State has to think about that game through their bye week. oh joy.

i did watch some of the Lakers vs. Rockets last night.

Austin City Limits was pretty good last night.

ROH was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be America to Me, Shameless, Kidding, The Deuce and Camping.

the New Orleans Saints play this afternoon at Baltimore. i think the Ravens are the one team in the NFL Drew Brees hasn't defeated. hopefully, that changes today.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Calgary. hopefully, the Rangers will get a victory in regulation tonight.

i will be on here tomorrow sometime after my physical therapy.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

one dreary Monday...

i'm not sure if i have seen the sun in the last 48 hours or so. today was just fucking dreary beyond belief.

i did do a little poetry work yesterday. i believe i know where my next 23 poems are going. i'd love to get that done sometime this week.

i did watch plenty of football yesterday. most of the results i liked, especially the ones in the Saints division.

America to Me was very good last night.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Camping was pretty good, although i can see why people would hate it.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

Shameless was fucking great last night. the last 10 minutes are exactly why i love this series.

Kidding was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

we got out of mom's doctor's appointment a little sooner than we expected. so, there's a Dollar Tree not far from where my physical therapy is. we were able to waste 30 minutes or so there before we left to my therapy. we only spent $11 at Dollar Tree, so that's not bad.

my physical therapy session was good. no drama like the week before. my therapist said if my back continues to get better this week, next week might be my last session. my back is definitely not as tight as it was the week before, so i'm trending in the right direction.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom's eye surgery. i think the surgery is supposed to only be a few minutes long. they are taking a laser to the scar tissue that has formed where her cataracts were. good times. one eye this week and the other eye next week.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i should have known as soon as i saw Gus Johnson was calling the game...

i remember years ago, Bill Simmons wrote an article where he said if you wanted to be entertained by a football game, watch any game Gus Johnson was calling. i think that was over a decade ago. sadly, it's still true. so, when i turned on the Ohio State game yesterday and saw that Gus was doing play by play, i knew what to expect. the game was incredibly tight until about the fourth quarter. Ohio State eventually defeated Minnesota, 30-14. most of the game was much, much tighter than the final score.

the New York Rangers lost to Edmonton yesterday 2-1. yet another shitty game from the officials. oh well.

Austin City Limits was really good last night. i could listen to John Prine for hours and hours.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was good last night.

i did write 5 poems last night. they are pretty dark and good. that gives me 9 for the month. i need to write some more and get another round of submissions ready to go soon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce, Camping, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding.

i might actually try to catch up on some sleep today.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. mom has a doctor's appointment and then right after that i have my physical therapy appointment.

my back is doing much better. the stretches and exercises the therapist showed me have really helped.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

and here comes the pain...

i woke up this morning with my back aching. it must know what is coming this afternoon. i haven't done physical therapy in 10 years. i haven't been to the place i am going to today. i'll be interested to see how my anxiety does today.

the New York Rangers lost again yesterday at Carolina, 8-5. it seemed like every damn time the Rangers got a lead they would turn around and blow it. the defense was fucking putrid yesterday.

The Deuce was really good last night.

the season finale of Ballers was pretty good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious as usual.

America to Me was excellent last night.

The Family Business: Trump and Taxes was a look into the behind the scenes of the New York Times article. i think i know why so many dumb asses love Trump. they want to be rich and never pay taxes either. the sad thing is i guarantee the whole damn family is still cheating the system and are proud of it.

Shameless was great last night.

Kidding was dark as ever last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for some of the evening.

the New York Yankees play Game 3 of the ALDS tonight at home against Boston. i really hope the Yankees win tonight and put Boston on the brink of elimination.

the New Orleans Saints play tonight at home against Washington. Drew Brees needs 201 yards tonight to pass Peyton Manning for the most passing yards in NFL history. i hope he does it in a victory.

my physical therapy today is at 4 PM. i'm pretty sure i know where i am going. i'm interested to see what i will be doing. i figure it will be similar to my mother's physical therapy.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. best of luck to everyone enjoying an extended weekend today.

apparently, 5 hours of sleep is all i really need...

i know the plan was to get some sleep at some point yesterday. so, when i was still up at 3 in the morning, i only could laugh. i went to bed and woke up 5 hours later, almost feeling refreshed. well, i've got shit to do today, so that's all i'm going to get.

yesterday was one of those days where i love being a sports fan, although i am certain it will send me to an early grave.

Manchester United was down 2-0 yesterday and i really wasn't happy. sadly, i wasn't surprised either. and then around the 70th minute, it all changed. United started to finally get some results for their reckless abandon they were playing with. Mata scored. 6 minutes later Martial scored. and then holy shit, in the 90 minute, Alexis scored. well, well, well, i didn't see a 3-2 win coming at halftime, that's for sure.

Ohio State played exactly how i feared they would yesterday. thankfully, it didn't last all game. they allowed Indiana to hang around, but eventually buried them in the 4th quarter, winning 49-26.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Buffalo, 3-1. yet another game where they played well enough to win. but, they ran into a hot goalie and more shitty officiating. joy. the Rangers play this afternoon at Carolina.

the New York Yankees broke out the long ball last night and defeated Boston, 6-2. Aaron Judge hit a mammoth shot in the first and Gary Sanchez hit 2 home runs, including one that went 479 feet. he's the first Yankee catcher to hit 2 home runs in a playoff game since Yogi Berra in 1956. the Yankees are off today and play Game 3 in the Bronx on Monday night. they know now if they just win the home games, they will advance.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce, the season finale of Ballers, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless, Kidding and The Family Business: Trump and Taxes.

since the New Orleans Saints play tomorrow night, today will mostly be a laundry day for me.

i suppose i should wear some clean clothes to my physical therapy appointment tomorrow.

i will probably be on here early tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

sometimes, you have to admit failure...

i got into a fascinating conversation with the muse last night and we started talking about politics. many of you know i hate the politics in this country. but, she said something that kind of hit me. if i really want to see things change in this country, i'm not exactly going about it in a way that can do anything. so, i decided to fuck it and i registered to vote. now, i'll be interested to see if the county actually accepts it. if they do, i'm planning on doing an absentee ballot as i know i would probably kill a motherfucker or two if i actually went to vote. i live in a very, very Republican part of this county. the level of ignorance in this town is fucking amazing. it doesn't shock me that i have lived here since 1997 and i rarely talk to anyone. so, as i told my mother last night, the goal will be to fuck up the system from within.

the muse and i have been trading songs back and forth today. i think we could probably talk for days on end about music and never get bored of each other. hell, maybe one of these days that will actually happen.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday at Boston, 10-2. it was basically a spring training game. the Yankees will host Oakland Wednesday night in the wild card game. the winner will play in the division series against Boston. it's finally time for the playoffs.

the New Orleans Saints won 33-18 against the New York Giants yesterday. it was pretty close until Alvin Kamara took over the game in the second half. the Saints play next week at home against Washington.

The Deuce was really good last night.

Ballers was good last night. that season finale is next week.

the season finale of Insecure was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

the 100th episode of Shameless was really good last night.

Kidding was dark and excellent once again last night.

America to Me was really, really good last night. it certainly brought back some memories of when i was the only white kid on the basketball team in junior high.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. i'm hoping to be done with that by the time Manchester United plays in the Champions League tomorrow.

i'm not really looking forward to the doctor's appointment. i know they need to check my numbers for my Type 2 Diabetes and my cholesterol, plus i need a flu shot and my prescriptions refilled. and then there's the laundry list of needing a scan on my left leg to see how much of it is dead. i need a back x-ray to see what the fuck is going on in the middle of my back. if that is as bad as my lower back, i'm fucked. and i'd love to find out what this is on the right side of my stomach. it's internal, so i'm guessing it's nothing good.

and then at some point this week i need to go to the bank, get a haircut, and i need to take mom to the grocery store to bitch out the pharmacist for fucking up her billing. on top of all that, the landscaper is going to start that project this Wednesday i believe.

there's never a dull fucking moment when you're crazy. never forget that kids.

i'm hoping to talk the muse into a plan to take over the world one day. if she says yes, this world will never be the same.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. hard to fucking believe it's already October.

one of those comebacks that can define a team...

Ohio State was down 12 with 8 minutes to go last night at Penn State. this was a situation that i figured they would be in and i was really interested to see how they would respond. what happened gave me enough to believe that if the cards happen to fall just right, Ohio State could win it all this season. 2 amazing drives and a great defensive stand/or just shitty play calling from a scared Penn State coaching staff gave Ohio State a 27-26 victory.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 8-5 in Boston. that gives them 100 victories on the season. they also set the team record for hone runs in a season. they will hopefully extend that record later today. Andujar broke Joe DiMaggio's team record for doubles by a rookie. i'd love to see them get the sweep of the Red Sox today, but all i really care about is staying healthy and getting the pitching set up for the wild card game at home on Wednesday.
the Yankees also became the first team ever to have every spot in the batting order have 20 or more home runs on the season.

Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking funny last night.

ROH was really good last night.

there's a sadist inside of me...

whenever something is off in my world, it never fails that i wake up each morning by a cramp in my left leg. that has happened 3 different times in the last week. this morning, the cramp was in my right leg. i'm not exactly sure what the fuck is going on, except most likely impending doom. of course, when the last thing you remember before going to bed was a black woman telling you the immense joy she gets from a warm water enema, i suppose a cramp in the right leg is par for the fucking course.

the guys from Best Buy got here at a decent time yesterday. they were pretty efficient, even though the company does shit ass backwards. instead of having the guy that was installing the new television take the old television, they had a completely different crew come out and get that. the new television and sound bar look great and worked perfectly yesterday. the guy set it up so the DirecTV remote controls everything. that makes it pretty easy. and thankfully, mom doesn't have to crank the television louder than fuck to hear it anymore.

Manchester United was held to a draw yesterday at home against Wolves, 1-1. it's probably a good thing i wasn't able to see the game.

Ohio State whipped Tulane yesterday 49-6. this sets up the huge game next week at Penn State.

the New York Yankees defeated Baltimore yesterday 3-2 in 11 innings. and since Tampa lost earlier in the day, the victory clinched a playoff spot for the Yankees. now, next up will be clinching home field for the wild card game. the Yankees will hopefully get the sweep of the Orioles this afternoon.
today is the last home game of the regular season.

the New York Rangers lost to the New York Islanders 5-2 last night. probably a good thing i didn't see that game either.

ROH was pretty damn good last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Deuce, Ballers, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding.

the New Orleans Saints play this afternoon at Atlanta. i'd really love to see the Saints beat the shit out of the Falcons. it's a game the Saints really need as they have already lost one division game this season.

when we opened up the house yesterday, the temperature in here dropped from 74 to 68 in a matter of minutes. i think the new windows and insulation we did awhile back are doing their job.

i think there is supposed to be some rain moving back in the area by tomorrow. of course, i have shit to do.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. mom wants to get her hair cut at some point this week. i probably need one as well. if the weather is decent and she's up for it, i'm hoping to get that done on Monday.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i wish my brain could just shut down for a few hours...

these endless cycles of falling asleep around 5 in the morning are eventually going to kill me. the question i ask myself always is will i actually get to truly fall in love before that happens or will i die like one of my sad poems? and the fact that that question is still being asked at the age 42 is not only sad, but fucking horrific. and as much as i want to believe that some woman is going to never believe her luck one day when she's with me, society has painted a completely different picture where my sad death alone seems like the only logical solution to any of this. and in between that gulf is where all the poems come from.

i wrote 3 poems today while mom was getting her x-rays done. we went out to Perkins for lunch. when i got home, i had a little scare. there was a tornado warning for the area where the muse lives. thankfully, she's okay. i did type the poems up. i do think they are pretty good. i should have another batch of poems ready to go in a few days.

the New York Yankees pissed away a lead yesterday and lost to Toronto, 3-2. thank fucking god they are off tonight. the loss means that all Boston has to do is beat the Yankees once in the next 3 games and Boston wins the division and gets to celebrate at Yankee Stadium. i figure that will take place tomorrow afternoon. joy.

the New Orleans Saints played like shit yesterday. but, thankfully, Cleveland's kicker decided he no longer wanted a job in the NFL anymore. he missed 2 extra points and 2 field goals yesterday as the Saints beat the Brows 21-18. the Saints easily should have lost the game. not good.

WWE Hell in a Cell was really good last night. most of the matches exceeded what i thought was going to happen. and there was a nice holy shit moment at the end of the night that certainly makes things a little more interesting.

Big Brother was pretty good last night.

so the muse and i had a fascinating conversation last night. in the process, she revealed to me that she wants to have 2 children one day. i have known the muse for 15 years and this is the first time she ever has mentioned wanting to have children. so, this puts me in a pretty tricky spot. i love the muse with every drop of my soul. but, the last thing i want to do to is extend the life of my father's DNA. which sort of kills me, as i do believe i would be a good father as i know the litany of mistakes my parents have made. but, do i really want to bring another soul into this fucking world? of course, now i'm assuming the muse is actually going to decide she wants to be with me and have children with me. apparently i still have the Jagermeister from last night in my system.

Manchester United won 2-1 yesterday at Watford. that's a good win right before going on the road to play your first Champions League game.

the New York Yankees lost to Toronto yesterday, 8-7. the Yankees left a small village on base as apparently, they believe they are only allowed to score runs with home runs. god forbid a fucking single with a runner in scoring position or a damn sacrifice fly with the bases loaded and nobody out. nope, it's all or nothing. hopefully they will get a win today. they are calling up their top prospect today. he should be able to help them down the stretch in the bullpen.

Ohio State defeated TCU last night, 40-28. Ohio State erupted in the 3rd quarter and scored 20 points in like 4 minutes. that was the difference in the game.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Deuce, Ballers, Insecure, America to Me, Shameless and Kidding. i'll be watching WWE Hell in a Cell for most of the evening.

the New Orleans Saints play today at home against Cleveland. i'm really hoping the Saints beat the fucking Browns today.

i believe i have to take mom to the doctor tomorrow afternoon for some x-rays or something. i'll probably be on here after that.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

¿Dónde está el deseo en tu beso?

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
